Soldier's Revelry
Chapter One
"Mommy! Daddy! Look at me!" a little girl said with a gleeful laugh as she rode her bike. The only thing that held her up was the set of training wheels.
"Now now Kaede! Be careful!" said a woman with maple brown hair and green eyes.
"Momiji, let her be, she's doing fine, see? She is riding it by herself." said Momiji's husband, his muscular hand with a blue seed in the palm, curled its way around her waist.
"Oh Kusanagi, your right, she will be alright." Kusanagi sighed and brought his wife to his front and their faces were inches away from each other.
" Don't act that way babe, you care a lot for her, that's why I love you. But sometimes, you go a little far." Momiji looked down while a smile slowly crept onto Kusanagi's face.
"Yeah right! You know that I think you do your best in everything. Hahahahaha..." Momiji got a smile of her own and yanked Kusanagi down into a kiss.
When they pulled away Momiji still had a sly smile on her face. "That should shut you up." she chuckled.
Kusanagi got a sly smile as well and pretended to walk by but his hand lightly slapped his wife's rear making her blush deep red. Kusanagi leaned in and whispered in Momiji's ear.
"What was that about shutting up, dear?" Remembering their daughter, both of them turned in her direction to find little Kaede staring at them.
"Daddy. Why did you slap Mommy's butt? Did she do something bad?" The couple looked at each other with wide eyes but recovered quickly. Momiji stepped toward their little girl and kneeled down to eye level with her.
"No Mommy didn't do anything wrong. Daddy was just playing a game."
Kaede smiled and asked "Wow! Can I play too?" A sweat drop formed on the heads of both parents.
"No sweetie, only adults can play this game. You can do it when you get married okay?" Kusanagi said scratching his head.
They all started laughing together. Kusanagi stopped laughing when he sensed something in the trees. His head snapped up and he searched the branches for anything. Movement! Kusanagi looked where the movement was from but some birds where sitting there flapping their wings. His senses calmed and he turned back to his 8 year old daughter and his young wife. He soon forgot about it as his family had started a wrestling match and he knew he had to enter as well.
Up in the trees, a figure stared down on the family as the words "Protect the Kushinada" rang through his head.
Eight points on his body started to glow blue but two visible points were on his hands where blue, seed like things resided.
"My mission is to protect the kushinada, but in order to be free from the arigami, I must kill her. I don't know why I can't." he said to himself and sped away through the trees.
