She quickly hid her notes behind her, Shippou almost tackling her to the floor. He'd grown a few inches in the months since Kouga's arrival, his youki thriving under Sesshoumaru's watchful eye. With her sitting on the ground, they almost stood eye-to-eye.
"I thought you'd still be training," she said, wishing she'd had more time for her research.
Shippou buzzed with excitement. "We're going hunting!"
Kagome was taken aback, looking up at Sesshoumaru. "I thought he wasn't ready."
"He has proven himself during the pack runs with the wolf prince."
"Sesshoumaru-sama says we're going solo tonight!" Shippou boasted, his full-length foxtail flitting back and forth.
