(Rock Tunnel B1F | May 13th | 1:15 p.m.)

"Joe…" Rusty said quietly to himself.

"I know. I sensed it…thankfully he's fine. Just a bit hurt." Crimson said with a sigh of relief.

"Should we go back for him?" Rusty asked.

"If you want to, you can do so. I'll go ahead…I want to ensure the Rocket Activity is investigated." Crimson said as they rode. "We're pretty much halfway through the tunnel."

Rusty thought about it and decided not to just ditch Crimson. He did break away to decide to seek out Pokémon. While he had levels over the Pokémon here, he did need a new one to add to the roster. Crimson decided not to catch anyone not seeing anything he wanted.

"Hey you!"

Crimson turned to see to his surprise…an Ace Trainer. A female one with long brown hair, brown eyes, and outfit that harkened to the design from Pokémon Stadium 2.

"And what do you want?" Crimson snarked.

"To kick your ass. People speak of you as some unbeatable phantom, but I'm here to kick you off your high horse. Now fight me!"

"Fine, whatever." Crimson said a bit annoyed by the girl's voice.

The trainer, Minori, sent out a Vulpix to fight. Crimson did not have to use overkill, but the girl was an issue. He did not want people up and interrupting him like this. He got the emperor out, and it made quick work of her Vulpix and her Kadabra.

"Now about my money…" Crimson said returning his Pokémon.

"About that…" Minori said only to bolt into the darkness.

Crimson did not even react considering he could sense the brat and deal with her later. He spied a hiker who was watching the battle, and he decided not to push his luck against Crimson. The hiker did give a thumbs up for the fight as Crimson nodded. As for Rusty, he spied a Bronzor, but changed his mind.

"I need a Ghost-type." He thought. "Maybe I'll consider a Bronzor later."

He did end up battling another Ace Trainer who was nice enough to pay with a few Ultra Balls instead of cash. Crimson was back up on the main floor of Rock Tunnel, just up on the other side. He noticed the area was quiet with no trainers around. Then he sensed someone…in trouble. Crimson raced to the exit coming out to rain. A Cubone was in the midst of fleeing from a pair of Grunts. Crimson returned his bike to a capsule ready to rush in to help, but someone beat him to the punch.

"Roth, Dual Wingbeat."

Out from the dark was a large, avian Pokémon resembling a raven. Most of its body is a lustrous black, but its lower beak and legs have a matte color. Its feathers are tempered with steel. Its mantle, breast, belly, flanks, and scapular feathers are smooth and resemble plate armor. It's talons, head, and upper beak are similarly armored. It has a crest above its eyes that resembles a crown, and a ruff of feathers on its throat that resemble a beard. Its eyes have white pupils, red irises, and black sclerae.

"Ok, that's no Kanto Pokémon. Bulma? ID, please." Crimson said.

"Corviknight, the Raven Pokémon. The final form of Rookidee, This Pokémon reigns supreme in the skies of the Galar region. The black luster of its steel body could drive terror into the heart of any foe. With their great intellect and flying skills, these Pokémon very successfully act as the Galar region's airborne taxi service."

WHAM! Steel wings slam into the grunts. Considering it was a Steel-type Pokémon over seven feet tall, one grunt had a cracked skull and the other one had broken ribs. The Cubone sat there sobbing until he was picked up by…Lindsay. Roth came over to her trainer.

"Sweet sabbath, Lindsay. That was impressive." Crimson said as she cradled Cubone. "Gary with you?"

"Not really. He decided that Sepia City was a good place to train. He's been planning to go to Crimson City to scope out the place. I split off to go to Lavender Town…I wanted to pay respects." Lindsay said gently. "Gary's supposed to pick me up there in a few days. And the rest is well…"

[Cues: Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen OST – Lavender Town]

Cubone stopped crying and Rusty came out to see this scene. He had long returned his bike to his capsule and the three walked into town. The noble purple town had a gloomy look to it as rain poured with darkened clouded. Crimson snarled seeing that Rocket grunts were walking around like they owned the pale. Rusty's own blood boiled as well at the sight. Crimson noticed a duo pushing around an Officer Jenny, one that had a mousier look then the typical ones.

"Ok, that's it." Crimson said sending out Sir Jett. "Aerial Ace, together with me."

Crimson grabbed Daimonji and in sync with his Pokémon dashed towards the two grunts as they both made three strikes in a few mere seconds. Crimson twirled his katana as the two grunts hit the ground with bleeding and open wounds as it appeared to the untrained eye that neither Crimson nor Jett moved. The rain washed away the blood on his blade. The one grunt still conscious was grabbed by the collar by Rusty who glared into her eyes.

"Do you know we are?! Our boss will destroy you!"

"If this is the best your boss has, I'm not worried." Rusty said before slamming her head on the ground to knock her out.

"Thank you, citizen, but I had perfectly under control." Jenny said trying to look tough and adjusting her glasses.

"I know that the other Officer Jennies aren't muscled up, but you just look scrawnier in comparison." Crimson said as Jenny puffed up her cheeks.

"We can't all come all pretty and tall." She said flushed with embarrassment.

"He didn't say you weren't pretty. You're just…wispy." Rusty remarked.

"Runt of the family?" Lindsay said as Jenny was redder.

"I didn't even want to be an officer, but my sisters made fun of me, so I wanted to prove them wrong." Jenny said only for the three to stare at her. "It's not a petty reason."

"It is. Because if you were even a subpar cop, you'd get help and Rockets wouldn't be on the streets right now!" Crimson said fuming. "Why haven't you called for backup?"

"They're blackmailing me…" She said weakly.

"Oh. I see." Crimson said as Jenny raised an eyebrow. "Another case of Poképhilla?"

"What? No! No! I prefer humans! It's just…they caught me smoking pot." Jenny said as Crimson blinked. "What?"

"I smoke an occasional blunt. I'm not going to judge you, but I can see the issue in why you want that to be kept secret." Crimson said gently.

"Let's just get off the street. I know a place." Jenny said as he led them to the Pokémon Volunteer House. "And just call me Jeia."

Crimson simply sheathed his katana as they entered. The volunteer house was a lot bigger than he thought, looking more like a community center with various playpens for Pokémon.

"Who the-"

Introductions were made and chatter grew to be a bit lively. There he met Reina, Fuji's granddaughter.

"Oh my gosh, another Cubone. Those horrible Rockets. They've been poaching around here lately…and they've overrun the place. Sadly, our police officer is a mouse, and everyone here is too cowardly to go up Pokémon Tower to help my grandfather." Reina said frustrated.

"But the ghosts…"

Crimson eyed the Cubone in the pen looking rather saddened as Reina came up to take it up. Jeia just looked guilty as she fixed her glasses.

"I'll help you. Because I owe the old man being the saint that he is for caring for all these Pokémon needs to be saved. Besides, I owe Team Rocket a continued beating." Crimson said cracking his knuckles. "By the time I leave this city, it'll be under the Black Dragons' protection."

"There was another trainer who attempted to go up there. An Ace Trainer named Mi-"

"Wait, that chick that flaked on me when I beat her in battle. Well now I have to go up and save her dumb ass too." Crimson said with an eye roll. "Ok, if I'm going to do this. I need to know what Team Rocket has done so far to keep you all from getting help."

"They have a signal dampener on the roof of the Pokémon Center. From what I hear, they can only use them for small cities and they're expensive to maintain." Jeia explained.

"Rusty, I'm putting you on disabling it. Lindsay, I need you…" Crimson said as Lindsay shushed him.

"Be a distraction for the grunts around town. I assume they have to be at least cutting off ways in and out of town." Lindsay said gently brushing aside of a lock of Crimson's hair. "Go on ahead to the Tower."

He nodded before returning Jett. The trio split with Crimson moving back out of town to the path outside of Rock Tunnel.

"Bulma, can you make some switches from here?" Crimson said before thinking it over. "Magnus's a no go for the Tower. Capone, please."

"On it, would you simply like to put Magnus in the PC straight away?" Dex Bulma asked.

"If it gets it done faster, than yes." Crimson said as she made the swap.

He wasted no time removing his weights needing his real speed to make a break for the tower.

[Cues: Kirby Squeak Squad – Stage Music 4]

Ground floor was devoid of people, but given the situation, that was no worry. He moved up to floor 2 only to see a woman in the spot where the rival would have been. Namely, Cassidy.

"You again. Bad enough your antics got us in hot water with Aerodactyl all over that area of Kanto that none of us can catch. I…" Cassidy said reaching for her Poké Ball.

Crimson responded with an iaido sword slash that left a deep gash on her arm before he grabbed by her hair smashing her skull into a gravestone before shoving her to the ground.

"Listen you feckless piece of shit, an old man is being held hostage at the top floor. If you don't tell me how many guys are holding him up there, I will personally make sure no plastic surgeon can fix what I do to you!" Crimson yelled as Cassidy looked fearfully into his cold eyes.

The gash on her arm was a clear sign he was more than willing to kill her….or worse.

"Ok, it's just three grunts up here and one of the Admins, Proton. I swear, it's just them on the top floor. Other than that, a bunch of weird Channelers. I swear!" Cassidy said as his foot was planted on her throat with his hand glowing blue. "Please don't…"

"This is the last time I spare your worthless life. Take this as your last chance to walk away from this." Crimson said before kicking the woman hard enough to knock her out.

He put her limp body aside and continued to the third floor.

[Cues: Pokémon FireRed/LeafGreen OST – Pokémon Tower]

Morticia was sent out to be by his side as he saw the third floor had a mist clouding the room.

"I sense people…" She said as a channeler jumped out of the mist with a Gastly.

"Begone foul spirit!" She cried.

"Moritica." Crimson said as his trusty ghost attacked the Gastly.

SPLASH! Water was thrown on his face from the channeler.

"You're not screaming." The channeler said. "You're not a spirit."

"No." Crimson said as her Gastly was knocked out. "And you owe me money."

"Oh well, I'm sorry." The channeler said handing over a meagre amount of money. "The spirits have been restless today. Something is going around here."

"Maybe that's because of Team Rocket murdering the Cubones." Crimson mumbled as he and Morticia left her behind. "Dumbass…"

He moved on ahead only to run into another channeler and her Gastly.

"Kwa! You shall not-"

WHAP! He backhanded her aside not even in the mood.

"Not in the mood, lady." Crimson said as he sensed another presence.

A wispy ghost decided to try and scare Crimson, a Misdreavus.

"Boo!" She cried.

She got smacked so hard with a Quick Ball. He was not even intending on capturing her, even a bit surprised one was here of all places. CLICK!

"I guess I can keep her…call her Blair." Crimson remarked as the ball vanished to the PC.

Morticia gave him a dirty look.

"Don't give me that look, you would never be replaced." Crimson remarked. "We've been through too much."

"I know, Crim dear." Morticia said as they came up to the fourth floor.

He promptly sprayed Max Repel after he found a Crobat about to bite him. He sensed around only to sense just one other person where there should be three. Not that he was complaining, maybe the other two were on holiday he thought. He returned Morticia for the moment and went on ahead through the path as he heard footsteps.

"A young man descends upon this place…" She said with an eerie tone.

Crimson turned to see a Channeler come out, one slightly differing from the other. Her hair was black, disheveled, and stringy. Her grass green colored eyes had a wilder look to them with dark purple circles around them.

"If you want my blood, you're a few years too early, Bella." Crimson snarked.

"Blood? No…give me…your semen." She said as Crimson balked. "Please…"

She panted as she began to undo her robes as Crimson was trying to wonder if this was a trap or not. Her robes fell to the ground revealing a sarashi on her chest and a fundoshi that did little to hide the spot of stubble. Her body was a bit thicker compared to the other channelers.

"Are you a ghost?" He asked only for her to up in his face before hungrily kissing his neck.

"Would it matter…I just want that thick batter in your balls." She cooed.

"I don't think I'm ready to be a father, and I don't even know your name." Crimson said breathing lightly. "If I'm going to do it, may as well know your name."

"It's Jody…" She purred. "And don't worry, I don't want a pregnancy. I want a facial."

"Pretty horny for a channeler?" Crimson remarked. "I almost thought you were possessed."

"That was just an act to get you riled up. It worked?" Jody teased with a wink.

"A little. Almost thought you were a trap set by the Rockets." Crimson said as Jody sighed.

"And there's a spirit guarding the way up that me and the others can't see." Jody said.

"I may have a way myself." Crimson said as Jody sensed something in him.

"An auric? Interesting. Haven't seen one of those before…. The elders would say they were a warrior people plentiful in the distant past. Well before you go up there, how about you ravage me first?" Jody said before purring.

And ravage he did, unaware that channeler was…on her way to becoming a very different type of channeler.

On the floors above and below, they could hear loud wailing moans. The people in the upper floors shrugged it off as ghosts. Ironically, it was the holy water wielding channeler who came running up to see Jody on top on Crimson, riding him.

"Airi?" Jody said as Airi blushed bright red.

"What are you doing?" Airi said. "Are you be ridding of a foul spirit?"

Jody had a smirk and an idea.

"I'm preparing this brave young man to go up the Tower for he is destined to do it. This young man is an auric." Jody said, shamelessly riding him. "I am merely having sex with me to steel his nerves. I'm doing my duty! Oh…yes!"

"An auric? No wonder I felt something in him." Airi said before becoming lost in her thoughts.

Crimson grabbed Jody's hips and had her against a tombstone humping away with furious abandon until he got Jody the facial that she wanted. Crimson was about to get up his pants only for Airi to declare something.

"I've come to decision. I will offer up my purity to help you up in your destiny!"

"Airi, that's not…"

"No, I insist. Besides, it is my duty, and I must atone for attacking you." Airi said adamantly.

"I don't think I could do that in good conscience. You are rather brave though." Crimson said feeling she should not take advantage of her. "And, I'm ready to face what's ahead."

"Then please…be careful, oh destined one. I remember now…the elders spoke of a warrior with aura who would appear in the modern era bringing great change and leading a generation of new warriors. It certainly must be you." Airi said.

Ironically, Crimson fit that description, but Crimson was not thinking that at the moment.

"My name is Crimson…" Crimson said fixing himself up.

"That Crimson?" Jody thought. "I was just bullshitting about the destined one shit, but…he actually fits the bill."

"Well Crimson, be safe. Because I still want you to take my purity…it would be an honor to for you to take my maidenhood." Airi said starry-eyed.

"Airi, thanks. Be a dear and go back downstairs. We can't have anyone not an ally of me intervening to stop me." Crimson said giving her a Max Revive.

"Of course!" She thundered down the stairs.

"Surprised you didn't take the chance to fuck her." Jody said getting dressed herself.

"I still have to recuse Fuji." Crimson said. "I didn't want to exhaust myself, and it didn't feel right to do her."

"I'll keep an eye on things down here. You should go on ahead." Jody said wiping the load off her face. "If you fight as good as you can have sex, you'll go far."

Crimson went on up to the fifth floor and Crimson headed for the channeler with a purification circle getting revitalized along with his Pokémon.

"You are very brave, young man. I can feel your fighting spirit within." The channeler said with a hum.

"Thank you." Crimson said politely before given a Cleanse Tag. "Much appreciated."

He dodged the other channelers before making it to the sixth floor. To this annoyance, he did have to battle two channelers with Pokémon that were nothing to write home about. He trudged to the circle to get healed and spray more Max Repel.

"Actually, I may as well fight the others. I could use the experience and funds." Crimson thought.

[Cues: Pokémon FR/LG – Lavender Town]

Outside at the Pokémon Center, Rusty was fighting through a few grunts with Sasame and Shoji before getting to the roof where Butch was watching over the signal dampener.

"Shoji, Thunderbolt!" Rusty said before Shoji's body sparked.

"Rarrrrrrrrrrr!"

Electricity assaulted the machine to Butch's horror before it exploded. Butch reached for his Poké Balls.

"You bast-"

Defensively, Sasame tackled Butch right off the roof causing him to fall to the ground headfirst. Not even bothering with Butch, Rusty simply focused on ensuring the dampener was destroyed. Lindsay was flying around on Roth only to swoop it and pick up Grunts to toss them into the nearby ocean.

"Rusty, you have a phone call incoming from Joe." Dex Tashigi said as his phone rang.

He answered hastily.

"Joe, you all right?" Rusty asked.

"Yeah. A few electrical burns, cuts, bruises, but no limbs broken. Freaking did it though…caught Zapdos." Joe said triumphantly. "Keeping him in PC storage though. I can't send him to the mansion or to Tree's yet."

Rusty was about to say something only to hear sobbing. He looked down to see Butch's Pokémon all huddled around their trainer. Primeape, in particular, bawling his eyes out.

"I think you freakin' killed that guy." Shoji said to Sasame who looked saddened.

"Oh shit. I think I'm pretty sure I killed Butch…" Rusty said.

"Meh, karma always wins." Joe said icily. "He lived as a Rocket, he died as one."

Rusty and everyone else saw Butch's body glow black before out came out came a Pokémon that Rusty scanned with the Dex.

"Yamask, the Spirit Pokémon. These Pokémon arose from the spirits of people interred in graves. Each retains memories of its former life. It is said that the golden mask is of their face of when they were once human." Dex Tashigi said as Butch overheard this.

"I'm a Pokémon?!" Butch screamed in horror.

"Dude, catch it!" Joe said as Rusty hanged up.

The former human floated up at Rusty screaming he was going to get his revenge only to see Rusty had a look on his face. A wide malicious grin that began to scare Butch.

"Butch, Butch. Isn't this ironic?" Rusty said leaping off the roof. "I believe the spirits of this land have cursed you because as a Ghost Pokémon…there's surely no afterlife. I could capture you right now…but I think that's too good for you."

Yamask looked mortified as Lindsay swooped down on her metallic bird.

"Who's this…and oh my god, is he…"

"Sasame tackled him off the roof to protect me. His Pokémon all auto-released…" Rusty said quietly.

"I'll get him to the volunteer house…and I think we'll bury the body." Lindsay said comforting the Primeape.

As the Pokémon were ushered off, Yamask just had a haunting thought that he became exactly what Team Rocket wanted to exploit.

"Get out…get out!" The specter said to an unfazed Crimson. "It's not safe."

"I know it's you, Marowak." Crimson said using the Silph Scope. "I'm not here to fight you. My beef is with the people ahead. Go see your child one last time."

The phantom took shape of a Marowak having a purple glow.

"She's still alive?" She said as Crimson walked past her.

"Yes…still in this town." Crimson said going up to the final floor.

[Cues: Black Lagoon OST – Dark Side of the Moon]

The final floor. Crimson came up with his footsteps getting the attention of the five there, the three grunts, Fuji, and Proton.

"You three can rightly piss off. This is between me and Proton." Crimson said darkly.

The grunts wanted to protest only for Proton to pistol whip Fuji and demand Crimson hand over his Pokémon. Crimson seemingly complied only for Morticia to seep out her ball and use Psychic to rip the pistol away to which Crimson took up. He immediately shot all three grunts to ensure they were no position to fight before only to put it away.

"No, Proton. I'm going to ensure you return to your Boss alive, but not whole." Crimson said Proton said out his Pokémon, a Golbat and a Weezing.

"That's if you can beat me first, punk." Proton remarked. "I still have the old man hostage."

Fuji got up undeterred before tapping Proton on the shoulder.

"What the fuck is it-ACK!"

A karate chop to the face broke the admin's nose and made him a heap on the ground.

"Damn, Fuji." Crimson said. "Why didn't you…"

"I was not harmed while being held captive, so I did not retaliate until this punk decided to do that." Fuji said. "I have heard quite a lot about you, Crimson."

Proton's Pokémon decided to grab their trainer and flee along with the others leaving the two alone.

"As have I, Dr. Fuji." Crimson said as a breeze blew through the air.

"Thank you for your bravery in facing the Rockets. The tower feels at peace now." Fuji said shaking Crimson's hand. "But we should depart."

"Feels weird that I didn't even fight any Rockets. You literally blue-balled me….but it was funny…so I'm not mad about it." Crimson said as they begin leaving the tower.

"Oh, come now, you'll get to fight the boss eventually." Fuji teased.

[Cues: Pokémon Heartgold and Soulsilver OST – Lavender Town]

By the evening, backup for the police finally came. A few Rockets were arrested, but notable ones got away. Not that it mattered to Crimson, he had won. Fuji was reunited with Reina and Cubone.

"It was amazing, grandfather. Marowak's ghost just appeared in the room to see Cubone one last time before leaving." Reina said looking content.

"Of course, all thanks to the destined one!" Airi said. "Three cheers for Crimson!"

"By the way, I ran into Cassidy. Was Butch or Mondo there?" Crimson asked.

"Butch is well…dead. He ended up becoming that ghost Pokémon." Rusty said pointing to the Yamask.

Butch wanted to hide as stares were on him only for Airi to capture it with an Ultra Ball.

"I've caught the foul spirit!" Airi said as the ball clicked.

"Well, you could take his former Pokémon." Rusty said before pointing to the frightened four.

"I've always wanted a dog Pokémon!" Airi said excitedly.

"Butch, you poor bastard. I almost feel sorry for you…but that pity was for James." Crimson thought.

[Music Ends]

Night would fall as Crimson was in the Mart restocking a few things as Airi came up wanting to speak to him. She dragged him to a house that was apparently the meeting house for the channelers. Most of them looked similar with slight differences with some being a bit older and so on.

"Ah, so you are the destined one Jody has foreseen." One said approaching. "You came to my purification circle in the tower."

She resembled Jody with the similar black hair but had a rather motherly figure. She would have reminded Crimson of Rosaria from Dark Souls 3…if he had never got around to playing the game.

"I am Rosaria, the leader of the Lavender Channelers." Rosaria said. "Jody has claimed that you are the one that be the start of a rise of new aurics. It has foretold that Kanto would be the start of a chained of destined ones that would help to save their respective regions."

The gears turned in Crimson's head.

"I never thought it would come now, but all things happen for a reason. And you already have completed the checklist to assure us you are him." Rosaria said.

"I don't really believe in destiny. I make my destiny…" Crimson affirmed.

"Spoken like a true destined one. It was never said how you would lead the charge, just that you do." Another channeler said. "You didn't choose to be an auric after all. You aren't invincible. If anything, this just puts a target on your back."

"Stick it with the rest of them." Crimson said drawled.

"Just be aware the Lavender Channelers will back the Black Dragons." Rosaria said gently. "But can you explain the odd wails from earlier? Almost sounded like my daughter."

"Jody was steeling his nerves through sex." Airi said as Jody looked a bit sheepish. "And it worked. I think if we all have sex with him, he'll be…"

Jody covered Airi's mouth as Rosaria eyed her daughter who was nervously sweating.

"Now dear, I know you are sexually active. Don't act like I didn't notice you getting your hands on birth control, the late nights, among other things. But I expected you to have a bit of respect for your workplace." Rosaria said harshly.

"Don't be so harsh on the girl. Wasn't the reason Jody was born was because you and her husband did the exact thing there years ago?" Another channeler said eliciting gasps from the others.

"Yes, I won't deny that I was. I don't exactly regret that passionate night with me up against the grave of a Tauros…" Rosaria said only for Crimson to sputter. "Gave me my greatest joy and a good memory. But I expect better of you. I was punished when I was caught, and I will punish you."

Jody got cleaning duty for the next month.

"So, I don't have to sleep with him? What if I still want to anyway?" Airi said as Crimson facepalmed.

That got laughs out of the other channelers.

[Team Rocket Hideout, Celadon City | May 13th | 8:00 p.m.]

Giovanni was in the midst of having a glass of wine as Ariana came in looking disappointed.

"About the Lavender operation. We did get several dozen, but the operation was busted." Ariana said as Giovanni gripped the glass tightly.

"Crimson?" He asked glaring at her.

"Yes. It seems he is back in action along with this team. A flying camera caught brief footage of Joe tangling with the legendary Pokémon Zapdos. But it was destroyed in the fight…all we know is Joe is alive and Zapdos eluded the scene." Ariana said as the boss's grip grew tighter. "As for the Lavender Town team, nearly half of them were arrested. Those that escaped are injured. Proton has a concussion that's put him out of commission for some time."

"Ok, this can still be salvaged. The deal for the skulls can still go on. And as for Crimson, I want you to bring him to me the next time he comes to Celadon. High time, I deal with him personally." Giovanni said as Ariana cackled.

Funny enough, they would repeat the same mistake of underestimating. Just not on Crimson this time…

(A/N: High time we had a proper showdown. Butch being dead was planned for a reason. I did have Crimson warned Jessie, James, and Meowth that staying in Team Rocket would have gotten them killed or worse. I considered Butch to be caught by Rusty, but I opted not to do that which I'll explain in the next chapter. Him with the channelers is a worse fate that he'd be forgotten by his enemies and friends under the mercy of the people he tormented.)
