Future Days

A Captain Tsubasa fanfiction.

- Summary -

And all the promises at sundown, I meant them like the rest.

The journey one has to take to accomplish one's dreams is not easy. Especially when one of said dreams is going halfway across the world.

How do you work the struggles life presents you while still maintaining the relationships with the people around you alive? How do you find time to balance every responsibility you set to yourself without going insane or having a mental breakdown? How do you discipline yourself not to listen to all the badmouths who don't believe you're capable or strong enough to achieve all of your goals? How do you find the will to still support all of your friends on their own dreams? And how do you manage to work up the damn courage to finally say to a certain brown haired, dreamy eyes and smile, football obsessed boy you have been madly in love with him for the past 3 years?

For some reason, that last question seemed to be the most difficult one to answer.

A Tsubasa and Sanae love story.

All characters are based on the mangá and anime 'Captain Tsubasa', therefore belonging to Yoichi Takahashi.

The name of the fanfic is based on the song 'Future Days' by Pearl Jam. I am a huge 'The Last of Us' fan and even thought this song is used in a different manner in the videogame, I do believe it fits quite well on this story too.

A few things to keep in mind:

- The story will follow the Middle School arc of the mangá and anime, except the characters will be in High School instead (ages around 17 years old);

- In terms of the character's physical traits, I will be basing them on the 2018 reboot, meaning that Sanae is a redhead and not a brunette, for example;

- Daichi, Tsubasa's brother, is going to be 3 years old and Atsushi, Sanae's brother, is going to be 4 years older than her, unlike in the mangá;

- I will be adding new characters to the story but will still focus on the ones we know and love.

After reading so many great stories on this platform for years, I finally decided to give it a go myself. This football filled world has been around me ever since I was a little girl and I can't tell you how many times I've revisited it, especially since the new reboot, to which I give a lot of credit. In my opinion, it's a great take on inserting the original we know and love in a more modern world, while adding new references to the mangá and still maintaining that warm, nostalgic feel, like you're home again.

I hope this story brings you some of that feel too.
