There were so few act options. Frisk dodged attacks similar to the ones before, Zane's eyes would glint orange or blue but then his naginata would swing, and the screen would go black with each swish of his cloak.
"Please child, I don't want to do this, nor does Asgore," said Zane
*You say you won't fight him.
The tornadoes began getting slower.
Zane's eyes closed, he was defying everything he was by fighting this child. What would the other ninja say if they saw him trying to kill a kid? What would his father say? What would master Wu say?
No, this was his duty now. He was the heir of this place, monsters were counting on him, he couldn't fail.
*You notice he is conflicted
*Zane's attack dropped
Frisk kept hitting spare. Zane threw his naginata to the side.
"I'm sorry, I can't, I just can't take an innocent life," he whispered
Frisk hit the spare option then hugged Zane.
"I wish there was another way," he said
*you tell him there is always another way and that you will do what's right
Zane nodded and then went to talk to Asgore while Sans talked to the human for a little longer.

"It is alright Zane, I am the king so this is my duty, go wait with the other children, I'll need you to dissipate their forms when I take the seventh soul," said Asgore
Zane nodded and went through the door.
"And Zane.." said Asgore
"Yes?" Zane turned around
"If things had been different, I'm sure my children would have loved to have you as a brother," said Asgore
Zane smiled.
"I would have loved to have siblings," said Zane
Asgore hugged him before going back to watering the flowers.
Zane had a gut feeling something was going to go horribly wrong.
He sat on the ground, Lily sat on his lap to wait, and Andrew stood firm, he reminded Zane of Lloyd, ready for whatever destiny threw at him.
"I don't want to watch anyone die," whispered Lily
"Here, you can curl up in my cape," said Zane, wrapping the child in the dark fabric.
"What if, Frisk takes Asgore's soul?" asked Amy
"Then they leave and I'll rule the Underground and try to find another way out," said Zane softly
He took out his cell phone, he didn't know the date anymore but figured he might try to call the ninja.

Lloyd was training in the warehouse, his friends were dead, his father had taken over the city, and hope was gone.
Suddenly his phone rang.
"Hello?" he asked
"Hi Lloyd, it's Zane,"
Lloyd felt his knees buckle.
"Zane?" he whispered
"Yeah buddy, I'm here, look I don't know what's going on in Ninjago but my peaceful life here has been kind of disrupted, I just wanted to talk to my brother again. I miss all of you," said Zane
"I miss you too," said Lloyd, tears streaming from his eyes, he didn't have the heart to tell Zane about the others.
"Gotta go, brother, love you," said Zane
The phone hung up and Lloyd just stared at it.
"Who was that?" asked Nya
"Zane," said Lloyd
…
There was something ringing in Jay's pocket.
His phone!
"Hey, what's up?" he answered lazily
"Jay did you get into Master Wu's calming tea again?" came Zane's voice
"Zane!?" exclaimed Jay
"What! How?" shouted Kai
"Zane we got separated from Lloyd, most of us are in another realm, can you help us?" asked Jay
"I'm sorry Jay, it's a miracle enough that I can contact you all now, but I want all of you to know that I miss you guys and whatever is going on you need to stay together and stay determined. If I have learned anything from my time in this world, it's that determination is the strongest power you have. I love you all and miss you,"
The phone hung up. The ninja didn't know that Asgore had just destroyed Frisk's option for mercy.
"Zane is right, we need to stay determined," said Kai

Zane watched Asgore fight Frisk, the other kids watched too, not sure if they should help Asgore or Frisk.
Asgore was almost dead when he fell to his knees and told Frisk to take his soul and escape.
But Frisk refused, they saw Andrew smile and nod at them as Asgore talked about being a family with eight children and his wife.
Suddenly a swarm of bullets rained down on him.
"NO!" shouted Zane and the kids as Asgore's soul was destroyed by a single bullet.
The kids couldn't move, Zane couldn't protect them from the vines that engulfed them as a little yellow flower taunted Frisk.
"Zane, Help Frisk!" said James before all six souls were surrounding the flower.
Zane rushed to Frisk's side.
"Don't worry, whatever this is, I'll help you," he reassured them, his grip on his naginata tightening.
Flowey frowned, he tried to grab this fool with a vine to take his soul but Zane's soul wouldn't let go and the vine froze.
"No monster or human can absorb my soul you stupid weed," growled Zane, putting himself between the flower and Frisk.
"My my that complicates things a tad, but nonetheless…"
As the world went black, Zane shielded Frisk with his body, he had no idea what this flower would do.
From inside Flowey, six voices shouted.
"LET US GO!"
