Crimson and his friends (save Misty) were a bit overwhelmed by the crowds around him cheering for them. Rusty never imagined he would get this to happen, let alone be called a hero. Yes, he had been called a hero before…he just was not used to it. Neither was Joe. Sissi would revel in it. However, Crimson had another thing on the mind. He missed Ash's birthday…
"I'll make it up to him later." He thought.
The city would still be on lockdown for the most part as the police wanted to make a clean sweep throughout the city leading to a curfew, and much to Crimson's ire…the Gym was going to be closed for the time being. Crimson sat in the Pokémon Center sulking.
"Dude, the mayor gave you a medal…and you're bummed about the gym being closed?" Sissi asked. "You do know that there are three more gyms on the Kanto League on the Sevii Isles, right?"
"It's not the same." Crimson said with a pout as in walked Sabrina.
She was a slim young woman of medium height with long swaying greyish-blue hair with shorter layers around her face and a black fringe. Her small eyes were an eerie shade of purple. The outfit was a mirror to her Let's Go incarnation…not that Crimson complained.
"Ryuseigan-san." Sabrina said stoically. "I wish to thank you personally for defending Silph Co. where I could not and protecting my grandfather. With both of my parents away being International Police Officers…he's the family I have closest to me right now."
"It was no issue at all." Crimson said before he was presented with something.
"As is, I'd like to bestow upon you the Marsh Badge for your bravery. You deserve it wholeheartedly for leading the charge to save the city." Sabrina said giving him the badge.
Sabrina inadvertently just made his plans completely pointless. It did not help that the 'battle' he had Giovanni was half cocked…and Joe felt his pain.
"Thank you, Sabrina. How noble of you…" Crimson said as she bowed before leaving. "I decided you deserved this given that the gym is going to be closed…until mid-June."
She was long gone when Misty spoke up.
"Wow…pretty sure you were planning a team to fight her." Misty said as Crimson put the badge along with the others.
"And we just got screwed out of a gym…" Joe bemoaned as Crimson got up. "Crimson, what's up?"
"Frankly, I'm ready to leave and go to Cinnabar. I need to be away from this place before I say something I'll regret. Galena is going to be rather pissed considering she can't take part in the next Gym Battle."
"Look on the bright side, we can go back to Fuchisa and sail on the sea route past the Seafoam Islands." Misty said excitedly only to see Crimson's quiet look. "You ok to go back there?"
Crimson, honestly, was not sure if he was ready to go back to Fuchisa. However, he wanted to go on a sail, and he was making slow peace with the lost.
"I'm ok…for the most part. We should ready our teams and get going." Crimson said giving them an assuring look.
"There's still some concern…" Joe thought getting a read on him.
At the Pokémon Center, switches were made.
"So we're getting benched." Galena said as she, Rhint, Capone, and Lil' Swish were all out.
"Lil' Swish needs time off, Capone would not be a good fit for the Gym, and you especially would be bad against Fire." Crimson said with a sigh. "Rhint, you need a break for me to train the others."
"You're troubled. Are you okay…100%?" Lil' Swish asked.
"No, honestly…I'm still inwardly reeling, but I need to be strong and lead." Crimson affirmed rubbing Lil' Swish's head. "Look I'll work on my issues to be at 100%. I promise."
His Pokémon all came in for a group hug before he made the swaps. Rhint and Capone were sent back to the mansion, while Galena and Lil' Swish were at the penthouse with Mary. Morticia, Atlas, Mangus, and Tessa were brought back into the main party. Atlas was beyond overjoyed to be back on the team. Misty kept her teams as is for now. Rusty sent Kobe into Tree's to get Midori back. Joe had Sahara swapped out for Tobirama. Crimson and his friends were readying to leave only to be stopped by Ash…who now sported a Mega Band of his own.
"Crimson, you've avoided me long enough. You fought Gilbert, you fought Gary…it's my turn." Ash said crossing his arms. "Besides, you owe me this."
Crimson sighed.
"You're right. I have avoided you, and it's time I took off the kid gloves." Crimson said completely serious. "I owe you nothing more than that."

(Saffron City | May 25th | 1:40 p.m.)
The two trainers stood on different side of the arena of the other gym in Saffron City. The karate guys were more than happy to host the battle. The head of the dojo, Kiyo, referred the match. Crimson's friends and Ash's friends were sitting off on the side.
"The full battle between Crimson and Ash of Pallet Town will now commence, limited substitutions will be allowed. Let the battle begin!"

"Sir Jett, we're tearing it up!" Crimson said sending out Krookodile.
Jett had new sunglasses to replace his old ones, a pair shiny red-rimmed wrap-arounds.
"Pikachu, as we planned." Ash said as Pikachu leapt into battle.
Something about this was off, and Crimson could feel Ash was different. He wasted no time ordering Jett to use Earth Power. Ash called his Pikachu to use Grass Knot tripping the heavy gator onto his face to everyone's surprise. Crimson called for Jett to use Incinerate to burn away from the grass bindings before they noticed the Light Ball around Pikachu's neck.
"Well, shit." Both of them thought.
"Extreme Speed!" Ash called out as Pikachu blazed off.
"Aerial Ace. Use the momentum!" Crimson roared as Jett took to 'flying'.
The two blitzed at each other with both trainer wanting to plan another attack. Ash called for Brick Break, but Crimson went for the nuclear option…Earthquake. Jett's 'Seismic Smash' and Pikachu's Brick Break both land at the other rocking the arena having both skid back on their feet.
"Cheeky bastard." Jett spat.
"Not so self assured, now?" Pikachu said before both Jett and him collapsed, out cold.
And Gary walked in to see the tail end of that with his entourage, they all were more than floored. Crimson chuckled before breaking out into laughter before returning Jett.
"Ok, I was right. You've gotten stronger…" Crimson said eagerly. "Send out your next."
Shiroi let herself out of her ball only for Ash to put her on his side.
"Not yet." Ash said as she pouted. "Mayla, let's go."
"So, Ash got the Gardevoir?" Gary said with a snicker. "Fine, that suits him."
Mayla's eyes fluttered as she turned to her trainer, affectionately stroking his face. Shiroi saw Mayla as a rival for her trainer's love, and Pikachu saw it at all as a headache. Mayla did long for her trainer like Shiroi did but was not as impulsive and clingy.
"Mayla, be careful. This guy isn't one to take lightly." Ash said as Mayla turned to Crimson.
"Understood, Ash." Mayla said as Crimson made his choice in Morticia.
Morticia and Mayla stared the other down before the battle was on as Mayla was commanded to use Shadow Ball. The sphere formed from her own shadow before she fried at Morticia who dodged it by phasing into the ground.
"Ice Punch!" Crimson called as she lunged out.
Telepathy came in clutch as she dodged it on time to grab her. Ash called for her to use Draining Kiss, and Crimson had a wicked idea.
"Kiss her back and spit a Sludge Bomb down her throat!" Crimson said to the muted horror of the crowd.
Poor Mayla felt sickened to her stomach which Morticia practically puked purple gunk down her mouth right into her stomach. The Embrace Pokémon threw Morticia off stumbling back in a daze before vomiting on the ground clearly sick from the purple sheen on her cheeks.
"It tastes like excrement! Oh Arecus, why!" Mayla said between vomiting.
"Mayla, are you…"
"BLARRRHH!"
Mayla bolted off the arena and into the nearest bathroom. They all could hear the vomiting…and then the defecating. Morticia and Crimson even felt bad. For ten silent minutes, no one said a thing…they just listened to the screaming, puking, and crapping. Mayla stumbled out of the bathroom before collapsing onto her knees.
"Yeah, no. You're being pulled out." Ash said returning her.
"I am so sorry." Crimson said a bit guilty.
"Yeah, a bit of my fault. Kissing a Poison-type probably was not the best." Ash said as Shiroi was sent in.
"Don't think your typing will save you, my poison affects all." Shiroi said darkly.
"So Corrosion…" Crimson thought.
"Shiroi, use Fire Lash!" Ash said as Shiroi produced her whip of flames.
"Hypnosis." Crimson said as Morticia's eyes glowed.
"FUCK!" THUMP!
Shiroi was asleep as Ash told her to wake up.
"Recover with Dream Eater!" Crimson said as Morticia glowed bright pink.
She released a pink shadow-like version of herself that latched itself to onto Shiroi before Morticia took a breath to sap HP from the sleeping foe. Crimson dared not try for seconds and has Morticia use Psychic to finish her the sleeping Pokémon. Both trainers returned their Pokémon.
"So, it's one down against three." Misty said.
"But Mayla…"
"Is in no state to fight. Poison down the mouth is going to seriously going to mess up her inside. She's done." Rusty said firmly.
"Flexor, I choose you!" Ash said sending out his traded Hitmonlee.
"Atlas, I call for the lord of the seas!" Crimson said sending out Atlas.
"If I don't knock out Atlas, I can't have Flexor try to take out his Charizard." Ash thought before giving orders.
Flexor sprang into the air using Bounce only for Crimson to have Atlas use Rain Dance to make a small rainstorm in the area.
"Now come down with Mega Kick!" Ash said as Flexor came out at Atlas with a dropkick.
That landed on Atlas' head, but the Atrocious Pokémon was still smirking.
"Atlas, light him up with Thunder!" Crimson roared as Atlas sparked with electricity.
"Well…this is going to suc-AAAAARRRGHHH!" Flexor said as he was electrocuted.
"Rock Slide!/Scald!" Both trainers cried.
Flexor summoned raining rocks from the sky while Atlas spewed out boiling water from his mouth with both attack landing on the other. Atlas hissed from the pain, but it was clear that Flexor was burned.
"You think you win, water dragon?" Flexor asked.
"No, Flexor. Not yet!" Atlas roared.
"Flexor, put it all into your foot with Mega Kick!" Ash said as Flexor's foot glowed white as he lunged for Atlas.
"Finish it with Scald!" Crimson said as Atlas fired the stream.
Despite the pain, Flexor cleaved through the attack to nail Atlas square in the face causing both to hit the ground, injured and unable to continue.
"Good game…" Atlas said before passing out.
"I did it…wish I could see the end." Flexor said before passing out as well.
"4 to 2." Joe said shaking his head. "I don't like the odds."
"C'mon, Ash! You can do it!" Giselle cheered.
Both trainers returned their Pokémon as now it was down to the fliers, Kimiko and Pidgeot, who were swiftly Mega Evolved. Ash learned the hard way that No Guard ensured attacks landed, it also mean the same for getting them. Twisters would do damage, but Rock Slides that Pidgeot simply could not avoid did him in.
"And it's down to Blastoise now…" Giselle said as Misty, Joe, Rusty, and Sissi cringed. "Bad timing?"
"Damn, if that Twister was stronger…I would have probably lost. Came in by the skin of my fangs." Kimiko said before thanking her and returning her.
Ash was down to his final Pokémon, Blastoise. When Crimson sent Tessa out, he folded.
[Music Ends]
They returned their Pokémon as they shook hands.
"You did good, you fought hard. And you reaffirmed by respect for you." Crimson said as Ash paid up. "Thanks."
"I did fight hard, but not enough." Ash remarked as Kiyo declared Crimson the winner.
"And to think I wanted to fight Crimson today." Gary said as Crimson shrugged.
"Not today." Crimson said calling up Mary to arrange a chopper pickup. "We're leaving. The chopper's on the way."
"We're going back to the Triton!" Sissi said excitedly.
"Just for the rest of the day, we're leaving early morning." Crimson said as he and his group left. "Later guys."

(Lapis Town | May 25th | 9:00 p.m.)
"Master Crimson." Mary said coming into his room. "You in there…and decent?"
Crimson was in his sleepwear laying on his bed reading a book only to look up at Mary with a quizzical look.
"I see. Well, I wanted to let you know that the limo is ready to take you and your friends to Fuchsia in the morning. However, I ended up having to get the late morning one. It'll be ready by 11 in the morning." Mary said with a bow.
"Thank you, Mary." Crimson said before he heard a smack.
He looked to see a blushing Mary rubbing a sore rear and her Grumpig look rather devious.
"Richard, not in the open." Mary mouthed before she closed the door.
"Of all the Pokémon, she got a pig wanting to bang her." Crimson groaned.
"The average Grumpig penis is…"
He muted Dex Bulma. He did not really want to know, and decided to turn in early. Mary, on the other hand, was a blushing mess. Richard had become a bit more brazen, and she wanted to keep it secret for the most part.
"Richard, any one of that…and you'll go to sleep with blue balls." Mary said as Richard whined.
(A/N: Originally, Gary was going to fight Ash. But, I nixed it in favor of Ash who has stepped up his game. For those interested, I'll be posting up his team up after this. Yes, Crimson got a badge outside of battling the leader…just like Ash. Ironically, he technically did battle a leader for it (*Giovanni*). Season 6 is going to cover the Cinnabar Gym and another story beat from the games. We're soon going to the Sevii Islands!)
