(Cinnabar Island | May 25th | 4:30 p.m.)

Crimson had made sure to give the people at the Cinnabar Lab the Claw Fossil to revive it before readying himself to take on the gym by picking the lock on the front door. He had swapped Tessa out and brought Capone back into the fold.

"Sir, what are you doing?" Officer Jenny said looking at him.

"The Gym Leader hid the key to the door in the abandoned mansion. But there is other way to solve a riddle." Crimson said before hearing a click. "Got it!"

The door clicked and opened. The officer had left the group as they went in. The trivia questions that locked the gates? Easily handled leaving Sissi to battle the trainers, and Crimson waltz up to Blaine himself.

"That was quick. I should have opened the door and not let you openly pick my lock." Blaine said annoyed. "Blaine. Udea Blaine. I am quite aware of prowess. You burn with a blazing passion, and I respect that."

He revealed a panel and pressed a button to reveal six balls.

"So, you better be ready for the inferno. Better have burn heal, kid." Blaine said as Crimson cracked his knuckles.

"Bring it on." Crimson said.

A Gym Trainer, one of the Burglar class, took to being referee.

"This official Gym match between the Cinnabar Gym Leader, Blaine Udea, and the challenger, Crimson Ryuseigan of the Black Dragons, is now in sessions. Both trainers will be using all six of their Pokémon until all are unable to battle. Only the challenger is allowed substitution. Now let the battle begin!"

"Magmortar, let's start the show." Blaine said sending out the intimidating Blast Pokémon.

A quick check of the level and Crimson realized Blaine was not messing around. Here was a level 50 bastard with a White Herb.

"Overheat." Crimson thought. "Ok, no messing around."

Crimson sent out Magnus.

"Magmortar, start off with Endure!" Blaine said as Magmortar honed in his power ready to tank the nexy attack.

"Stealth Rock!" Crimson said as the emperor fired out rocks that sank into the ground.

"Cheeky. Points for not attempting my 'bluff', but I don't think you'll have your dino for long. Magmortar, Mach Punch!" Blaine said as Magmortar blazed forward with a glowing fist.

"Meet it head on with Aerial Ace!" Crimson said as Magnus raced forward.

Both attacked landed with both taking blows, with Magnus's being a bit worse given the attack on him was super-effective. Blaine called for another Mach Punch.

"Mangus. Stand still and wait." Crimson said as Magmortar raced at him.

He knew once Magmortar started, there was no stopping. Once he was close enough, he called for Magnus to open his mouth and use Poison Fang. Magnus would fall either way, but before making sure to both damage and badly poison the threat.

"You may have beaten me…but my friends will stomp a mudhole in your ass." Magnus weakly said before passing out.

He returned Mangus and sent out Kimiko without a beat to assail Magmortar with Rock Slide. Magmortar stood glaring at them defiant despite being badly poisoned.

"Magmortar, Thunderbolt." Blaine said as Crimson twitched.

"Dodge it!" Crimson said Kimiko's wings flapped.

She flew up narrowly missing Thunderbolt attack. Blaine called for Magmortar to use Rock Slide only for Crimson to command Kimiko to back away and use Hurricane.

"Blow the rocks back to sender!" Crimson said as Kimiko flew back dodging the rest of the Thunderbolt.

"I believe these are yours!" Kimiko said rapidly flapping her glowing wings.

"Well played, but not enoug-"

A rock had slammed into him, and Blaine had to duck to dodge a bit of flying rock. Magmortar staggered up only to get whiplash from the hurricane force winds. The poison was the finishing blow as Magmortar would not get up after falling down again.

"Kimiko, excellent work!" Crimson said as she landed on the ground.

"Magmortar, you did your best. Rest easy." Blaine said returning his lead Pokémon. "Crimson, that was most excellent, but can you actually pull a win out of this?"

Crimson instinctively returned Kimiko.

"Rapidash, flame on!" Blaine said sending the flame horse Pokémon.

He sent out Capone whose shininess gleamed as Rapidash's flames crackled. Stealth Rock kicked in to damage the horse. Blaine called for Rapidash to use Overheat leading to the horse's flames going hot white as its red eyes hotly glowed. As it unleashed the explosion, Crimson called for Capone to shield himself with Flame Wheel. The explosion rocked the place dispersing the Flame Wheel leaving Capone with burns.

"Thunderbolt!" Crimson said Capone's body crackled with electricity.

"Have some electrical burns, ya mook!" Capone said zapping Rapidash.

Rapidash's body had the shakes clearly paralyzed. Both trainers used an item to restore their Pokémon's conditions with Blaine using a White Herb and Crimson using a Max Revive on Magnus. Blaine called for Rapidash to use Overheat only for Crimson to have Capone counter with U-turn.

"Running away, rat?" Rapidash said taking the hit. "I'm not impressed."

"Oh don't worry, my trainer got friends in high places!" Capone said before returning to his ball.

Back Magnus came out.

"He's back and recharged." Crimson said confidently.

The Overheat attack was met with Magnus's Superpower. Down went Rapidash and Magnus ate his held White Herb. Blaine simply grunted and returned Rapidash as Crimson returned Magnus.

"Not bad, but I see I got you to sweat." Blaine said.

"Damn it, he's got me in a good. I really wish I had a fighting-type. Why the shit I don't even have one at this point?" Crimson thought before saying for him to bring it on.

Blaine sent out Sir Jett and Blaine sent out a Ninetales which took damage from Stealth Rock.

"Energy Ball!/Dark Pulse!" Both trainers ordered.

A blackened sphere clashed with one of nature causing an explosion spreading grey smoke on the arena. The smoke hindered the shades wearing croc none too much.

"Incinerate." Blaine said.

"Earthquake!" Crimson said as Sir Jett smashed the ground getting it to shake.

The fireballs came flying at Sir Jett who tossed his sunglasses to protect him before he got hit. Down went Ninetales, and Blaine's mustache furrowed. He sent out his Charizard and revealed a Mega Band.

"Shit." Crimson squawked.

Jett and his friends were all thinking the same thing as he activated it. The sunlight got harsh, and Dex Bulma alerted him that the now Mega Charizard Y activated Drought.

"Solarbeam."

Sir Jett was a roasted croc on the ground, out cold. Crimson returned him wordlessly and walked on the battlefield to take up the croc's shades to put them on before walking back. Crimson looked to his Dex, Charizard had taken a good amount of damage from Stealth Rock (being at half health), but he realized that Blaine clearly knew this. Blaine was going for the throat and Crimson had to return the favor. He sent out Kimiko and activated his Mega Band.

[Cues: Pokémon Heartgold and Soulsilver OST – Kanto Gym Battle]

"Kimiko/Kassin, Flamethrower!" Both trainers as their dragons roared spewing flames at the other.

It was a drag out battle of the Mega Evoloutions as the clash of flames laying bits of damage on the other.

"Aerial Ace." Blaine said as Charizard blazed forward with a white streak at Kimiko.

"Grab him with Shadow Claw!" Crimson said as a ghostly black outline formed on her left hand.

Blaine's Charizard had landed his attack but was grabbed by the right wing sinking the claw into it.

"Finish this with a Thunder Uppercut!" Crimson said as Kimiko's right hand sparked with electricity.

"So this is the other Mega Form? It looks sleek, but the look on your face says you still have the same weakness." Kimiko said.

"Well played-GUHH!" Charizard snarked before taking the electrifying fist to the face.

The Thunder Punch sent Charizard into the wall before hitting the ground returning to his original form.

"Damn. Blaine, I'm sorry. I only hope the others can avenge me." Charizard said before passing out.

Blaine walked up to the fallen dragon brushing its cheek.

"You done well, Kassin. You rest up, old friend." Blaine said returning him. "I'll give you this, you're a worthy trainer. It's been a long time since I got this fired up!"

"I can say the same. You're putting me through the paces, and I realized that you've exposed a weakness I overlooked. Considering the journey ahead…" Crimson said panting.

A crackle of bio-electricity flowed over him as they locked eyes. Crimson called Kimiko to stand beside him. Blaine settled to use a new Pokémon. It was a bipedal, turtle-like Pokémon with a spiny shell. Its skin is a muted green and only visible on its limbs, tail, head, and neck. On top of its head is an additional shell with many points around the brim. This extra shell has a black center, yellow in the middle, and a red outer rim. Its eyes even have black markings around the bottom, and it has a tubular, yellow snout with a single, large nostril. The Pokémon had a wide mouth with the lower lip marked by a jagged yellow line extending from its nose. On each side of its long neck are two short, triangular projections. Its front legs have mitten-like hands, while its hind feet have claw-like red growths around them. Most of its tail is also covered by red plating, which has fin-like projections. The shell that encases its body has a red underside with a star-shaped, yellow-rimmed hole in the center. The back of the shell has a yellow center with several spikes: four large spikes with red bases form a star-shape in the center with four smaller spikes around them.

"Bulma?" Crimson asked.

"Turtonator, the Blast Turtle Pokémon. It lives in volcanoes and eats sulfur and other minerals. Materials from the food it eats form the basis of its explosive shell. The shell on its back is chemically unstable and explodes violently if struck. The hole in its stomach is its weak point. It gushes fire and poisonous gases from its nostrils. Its dung is an explosive substance and can be put to various uses. This Pokémon is an Alolan native and a Fire/Dragon type."

Stealth Rock came up again to slash away a quarter of the Pokémon's help.

"Rock-types, the sneaky bunch of bastards." Turtonator said annoyed at the damage.

It was now a battle of who could hit hard and fast.

"Turtonator, Outrage!" Blaine said as Turtonator's eyes went red and went on a rampage.

"Bat it back with Dragon Pulse!" Crimson said as Kimiko fired a multicolored dragon blast from her mouth clashing against it.

"Shell Trap." Blaine said as Turtonator turned its back to Kimiko.

"Considering the Dex entry, hitting that shell is a bad idea. But…" Crimson said before screaming, "Kimiko! Use Hurricane and blow the attack down at Turtonator's shell!"

Kimiko's wings glowed as she blew the attack down at the target.

"You're going to regret this!" Turtonator said.

"Not yet, Kimiko. Give me the biggest Blast Burn you can give!" Crimson roared. "Everyone hit the deck!"

Misty and the other witnesses dove for the ground as the resulting explosion tore up the arena sending fire and rock all over the place. Crimson had a few scorch marks on his body, soot on his face, and his jacket was roasted. Blaine was standing tall only barely roasted. The dust cleared with the marquee showing Turtonator was out, and Kimiko was down to an eighth of her HP.

"I'm still standing." She said quietly.

"I'm proud of you, but you're done for today." Crimson said returning her.

"Arcanine, I choose you to fight." Blaine said as out came Stealth Rock to rear its head again.

"I need to teach one of mine Stealth Rock." Rusty thought.

Arcanine got a quarter of his health taken because of that and was already fuming. It did not help that Atlas was sent out and the sunlight faded.

"Rain Dance." Crimson said as Atlas glowed blue as rain began to pour.

"Wild Charge!" Blaine said as electricity flared on the fire dog.

Arcanine raced at Atlas, but Crimson had Atlas use Scald on the ground causing Arcanine to slip on it falling on hot water. Blaine hurried to call Arcanine to use Extreme Speed to regain his footing to which the 'Legendary' Pokémon managed to pull himself up to before racing at him.

"Thunder." Crimson said as Blaine and Arcanine shared a freaked look as Atlas's body and the rain clouds crackled.

"Shit." Arcanine said before he got vicious electrocuted. "Oh god, the water makes it worse!"

BOOM! Arcanine was sent tumbling into the ground a smoking wreck before getting up to cough up spittle before falling over. Blaine returned him as he sighed.

[Battle! Gym Leader Final Pokémon - Pokémon Black 2 & White 2 OST]

He was down to his final Pokémon to which he sent out a Torkoal whose ability activated dissipating the rain, making it a sunny day once again. Sure, the Stealth Rock smacked Torkoal, but Atlas went pale as Blaine smirked.

"Stone Edge!"

Atlas was riddled with rising stones as Crimson had Atlas fight back with Dark Pulse. Torkoal retracted into his shell and spun out of the way in order to spring out.

"Torkoal, use your Fire Gem and use Eruption!" Blaine said as Torkoal revealed a red gem that was he was hiding.

A smoky geyser of fire spews the top hole on Torkoal's shell making flaming rocks fly in all directions. Empowered by both the Sunny Day and the gem, it devasted Atlas. The scorched sea dragon hatefully glared at him before passing out. Crimson returned Atlas immediately and sent out Capone.

"Taunt him." Crimson called out.

"Come and fight me, if you're ready to get wrecked, dickhead." Capone jeered as Torkoal glared at him.

"Torkoal, Solar Beam!" Blaine said.

"Dodge it and hit him with Super Fang!" Crimson said.

Capone raced at Torkoal as he raced a hot white beam of energy from his mouth. Capone made a leap over it with his fangs and teeth glowing gold before slamming them into Torkoal. Capone would end up with a Solar Beam to the face sending the rat flying right into Sissi, sending them both into the ground.

"Hard enough for ya?" Torkoal jeered.

"Oh god, rat ass!" Sissi said getting Capone off her. "Crimson, he's out cold."

Crimson returned Capone and Magnus was sent back out.

"I'm not leaving without that badge." Crimson said steeled. "So, Magnus. Give him your best! Superpower!"

"Don't think I'll just roll over! Fire Blast!" Blaine said before both Pokémon were locked in a beam struggle.

"Damn, are these guys trying to shake the building?!" A Gym Trainer said the winds were blowing people back.

Crimson stood tall watching this and had an idea…one rather reckless but Crimson surmised what was life and battles with no risk.

"Emperor Magnus, I got an idea. It's reckless, but it'll get us to win. Do you trust me?!" He shouted.

"'Till the end, young conqueror!" Magnus said as Crimson smirked.

"Then, push forward and end this using Aerial Ace!" Crimson said. "And everyone else, hit the deck!"

Magnus let a roar as he forced himself forward gaining speed little by little glowing bright white. Blaine called for Torkoal to use Protect which failed…thanks to Capone's Taunt leaving Torkoal to get mowed before there was a larger explosion blowing several away blowing dark smoke all over the place. The arena was further scorched, and the marquee was slightly cracked as the dust settled. Torkoal down and Magnus let out a victorious roar.

[Cues: Pokémon Heartgold and Soulsilver OST – Victory! Gym Leader]

The Mega effect on Crimson and Kimiko faded as the referee got up putting off the fire on his shoulder.

"All six of Blaine's Pokémon are unable to battle! The winner is Crimson…now someone get me a doctor." The referee said falling over.

Crimson returned Magnus and fell to his knees panting. That was too close for comfort and his friends helped him up. Blaine was never the gladder to be bald as he walked up to Crimson.

[Music Ends]

"Masterful work, you've brunt me out. You have rightfully earnt the Volcano Badge. Oddly, the League let my badge be the one to authorize you using Waterfall outside of battle. Despite that, it increases your Pokémon's special stats. Here." Blaine said giving him the badge, prize money, and TM38 (Fire Blast). "Your passion burned bright."

"Thanks Blaine." Crimson said before getting his number.

"Jeez, you've been fighting for hours. It's already night." Rusty said looking at the time.

"Just one more." Crimson remarked putting the badge in the case.

(Cinnabar Island | May 25th | 7:30 p.m.)

Crimson's Pokémon were recovering at the center. He had returned Jett his glasses as he was on the phone with Vivian.

"Yeah, I'm checking on the fossil." Crimson said walking into the lab. "I'll let you know when it's done."

He hung up head for the fossil resurrection room to which he received an Anorith. He had called Vivian again to let her know it was all done. He had to use the PC to send it over to the Pewter Museum. He had gotten paid, and a lifetime pass to the museum along with a mention on their wall for major donors. He logged off the PC and left the lab a bit winded. He returned to the center to sit down with his team.

"Good work, all of you. However, most of you are getting benched. I do need to train up the rest of the gang. We're good, but we're barely nowhere near to take on the final gym leader or the Elite Four. That battle was too close for my liking." Crimson said quietly.

"Who's getting benched?" Magnus asked.

"Everyone except Kimiko." Crimson said to everyone's surprised. "You're all getting a Rare Candy or two to bump you all to 50 except for Kimiko and Magnus who got there. The final leader at Viridian is someone I am NOT going to take lightly at all."

"Wait, but Viridian's leader disappeared." Misty said coming in with their group.

"Oh ho, but he and I have already met. He knows full well I know who he is and that I am coming for him. He is waiting for me." Crimson said cryptically.

(Viridian City Gym | May 25th | 8:00 p.m.)

Within the 'abandoned' Gym, its leader sat in a big chair looking at nothing in particular. His Persian was asleep in his lap when a grunt came in waking the cat and breaking his train of thought.

"Giovanni, sir. We have an update on Crimson." The grunt said.

"This better be good." Giovanni said as the grunt revealed Crimson has seven badges. "I see…leave me."

He knew it, he knew in his heart that Crimson was coming for him. He should have been concerned over this, but he wanted it to happen. He NEEDED it to happen. He picked up the phone. If anything, Roman made it easy to get a message to him.

(A/N: I noticed Crimson is both a bit over leveled by most means and under leveled at the same time. Most of Blaine's Pokémon in the games (barring rematch teams) average out at late 40's to Level 50. Training is needed. As for the Sevii Islands, I do think Sissi and Joe may split from the group.)
