Shippou bounced around the kitchen, helping Kouga separate the meat and fur. "Do you think Kagome was impressed?"

"Keh, she said as much, didn't she?" Inuyasha said, sitting cross-legged beside the carcass, still in his human form.

"Well, yeah, but she didn't get to look at it for very long," he argued, shoulders slumping.

Kouga ruffled the kit's hair as he walked by. "I'm sure she'll tell ya more later. Why don't we make her something?"

Shippou immediately perked up, zipping off to the pantry to collect some vegetables and spices. Kouga sat down beside Inuyasha, shoulders touching as he continued to strip the meat.

"Think your brother will finally tell her?"

Inuyasha sighed. "Depends on how much trouble she got herself into."
