Placing a hand on his chest, she gave him a reassuring smile. "I'm not in any danger. Kagura lives off the power of the jewel, so I've still got my reiki."
"I am not concerned about Mother's mate."
"Why not? Now your mother will get better."
"As she was already doing under your care." His words appeared ungrateful, and he could see as much in her eyes, but he could do little else, instincts raging at the thought of losing her.
