A bright and early day in the city, Vivi had stood at the city limits in the 'guard box' facing Route 1 as per her duty. She idly swished her coffee which she felt was not strong enough. Her Arcanine was lazily sleeping by her side, but the rumble of engines could it awake. Crimson and his friends all raced past.
Crimson, he dressed for the big day. He wore his Black Dragon jacket over a Red Splattered Paint T-Shirt, Fire-Type Trackie Bottoms, Dark-Type Sport Gloves, Fire-Type Sports Cap, his gray Alolan Aviators, and the Air Jordans 1 on his feet. Rusty wore his Black Dragon Jacket with his trademark black 'Can't Bust the Rust' t-shirt, blue Cuffed Jeans with his usual belt, Bug-Type Sports Gloves, Dark-Type Sports Sunglasses, Fighting-Type Sports High-Tops, and his trademark hat back on his head. Joe still kept up the fancy look even with his Black Dragon Jacket on with a black, double-breasted suit with golden buttons and a blue tie together with a blue Pinstriped Collared Shirt, Poison-Type Sports Gloves, biker boots, and his pair of blue semi-rimless sunglasses. Sissi had finally gotten her Black Dragon Jacket and she wore with pride alongside her pink Glitzy Scarf Top, gray Jean Shorts, black Riding Boots, Steel-Type Sports Sunglasses, Fairy-Type Sports Gloves, and a splash of makeup. It was Misty who kept a more mellow look. She wore a navy-blue Striped V-Neck Tee, her usual jean shorts and red hi-top sneakers. She had finally changed up her hair letting it all down instead of the singular ponytail. Misty knew it would be the last time she would race on the back of Crimson's bike.
Roulette got a ride in Gary's car alongside Heather. Delia, Ash, and Brock used their Pokémon to fly them into town. They all stopped at the Grand Adelia Bakery where reunions were made. Misato had gotten there early with her husband and son and even got the table to buy them all breakfast. Shinji, Asuka, Hikari, Toji, and Kensuke were all already there. Misato was beyond overjoyed to see Shinji and Asuka, let alone that they finally got away from their families.
"Oh Crimson. This is for you." Shinji said giving Crimson a spherical case. "It should be about ready."
Crimson opened the case to see there was a Bulbasaur egg, a Friend Ball, and a letter.
'You don't have all three Kanto starters…so here you go. It should be hatching right by the time it arrives to you and you read this letter – Gilbert'
The egg glowed as the shell cracked and out came a new Bulbasaur into the world.
"….I'm hungry." Bulbasaur said.
"Well let's you something to eat then, Garth." Crimson said capturing the Bulbasaur with the Friend Ball.
The ball vanished into cyberspace with Dex Bulma citing he'll go to the Triton for Mary to care for him.
"That was nice of him." Ash said as Crimson got breakfast. "But I thought Gilbert hated you."
Gary had fill him in on what happened, and Ash look sympathetic.
"It's also why Rei isn't here. She wanted to stay and look after Gilbert." Asuka said. "She's fretting on him a lot pretty much putting her journey on pause until he's better. Not that I blame her."
"Isn't that putting yours on hold?" Toji asked.
"Not really. We can handle Johto just fine." Asuka spouted.
"Never thought Misato would have her own kid. Can she still not cook?" Shinji asked as Misato pouted.
"I'm a good cook." She insisted. "Right, dear?"
Mattias Surge wanted to keep their bed warm, so he openly lied. Vergil, on the other hand, had his mother's lack of filter and said no. That got a laugh out of everyone. Asuka's eye moved towards the girls dressed as cheerleaders.
"Well, either way this calls for a celebratory drink." Misato said as their orders came.
"Sorry, no alcohol is to be served before noon." Fox said.
"Damn it." Misato said with a pout.
Crimson ate silently. Delia had mixed feelings over being asked to wear a cheerleader's outfit to cheer Crimson on. A part of her was kicking herself for saying yes even if she did not look bad in it. Heather was equally rolling her eyes given their new cheerleader uniforms were a bit showier. Lindsay did not complain. Ella was only one not wearing a cheerleader outfit wearing her normal clothes.

When Crimson finished eating, he rose wiping his face with a napkin. He dropped the napkin on the empty plate, downed the drink in one go, and left money on the table before walking out without a word. It was time.
Crimson walked out returning his bike to its capsule before pocketing it. He put his shades on and walked on ahead. The others followed all not really speaking…most of them.
"What's with Crimson?" Misato said in a whisper.
"He's going to face the Viridian leader. He's been training all week for this." Joe whispered.
As they walked, that got the attention of some of the students at Pokémon Tech. The so-called failures had returned to town.
"Is that Joe?"
"Is that Rusty? I hardly recognize him."
"Damn, who's the babe on Joe's arm?"
"Shinji and Asuka are back?"
The former students paid them no mind, but someone did.
"You! Why are you back in town?" Sazandora said with a snarl. "I…"
She was ignored and she did not like that.
"Hey, what do you think you're doi-"
CLANG! In her chase, she hit a street sign and knocked herself out. Crimson walked to the gym and pushed open the door. Among the fresh-faced gym trainers were Rocket Grunts just without the R on their uniforms. The moment they saw Crimson, they herded the gym trainers to the stands. A gym trainer asked if the leader was going to make an appearance and the grunt nodded.

Out of from the shadows came Giovanni, to the shock of those…that did not know. Jaws dropped, gasps were made, and Crimson walked to the arena. Giovanni came a hearty chuckle.
"Welcome to my hideout, Crimson. It shall be so until I can restore Team Rocket to its former glory. But you've realized this. You know I was waiting for you. It's finally time I don't hold back! Once more, you shall face me, the greatest Trainer and your final challenge!" Giovanni said as a panel on the wall opened up.
It had contained balls, but he closed it revealing he had a team already picked out. A Black Belt Gym trainer, Atsushi, took up the referee stand. Despite it turning out the leader was Giovanni, he still wanted to do his bid.
"Boss, are you sure you want to broadcast this?" Archer asked.
"Do it." Giovanni said as the grunt make it so.
"This official Gym match between the Viridian Gym Leader, Sakaki Giovanni, and the challenger, Ryuseigan Crimson of the Black Dragons, is now in session. Both trainers will be using all six of their Pokémon until all are unable to battle. Only the challenger is allowed substitution. Let the battle begin!"

Giovanni sent out a Krookodile and Crimson just glared at Giovanni. Rusty just shook his head and Joe had to give it to the Team Rocket Boss, that was a classy way to insult a man. Crimson checked the Dex, near even levels with Giovanni only have a slight lead over him.
"Fawn, it's showtime!" Crimson said sending out his Gogoat.
"Ah, how cute. You knew my weakness, but it won't save you!" Giovanni said. "Krookodile, Fire Fang!"
Krookodile raced for Fawn with fire in his jaw, but Crimson was completely unafraid. He and Fawn were waiting for it. As he loomed, Crimson struck.
"Brick Break!" Crimson said surprising many.
Summoning vines to act as 'fists', they struck at Krookodile while glowing white before she headbutted him.
"Brutal Swing." Giovanni said as Krookodile slammed Fawn.
"Use Grass Knot to restrain him." Crimson said as Fawn's eyes glowed green as grass grew out of the ground tying around Krookodile's feet.
Krookodile fell on his face as Giovanni ordered Krookodile to use Dig to free himself.
"Oh you're going to regret making me look bad in front of the boss, asshole!" Krookodile said before tunneling underground.
"Hey Giovanni, I dedicated this next move to you. You can call it irony, and I call it Earthquake." Crimson said as Giovanni's eyes were wide as saucers.
"Regret this!" Fawn said as her hooves glowed oranges as she stomped on the ground triggering a quake.
White shockwaves come out of the ground as everyone could hear Krookodile's swearing up a storm. The marquee showed that the first victory was Crimson's. A grunt had to haul Krookodile out of the hole for Giovanni to return him. Giovanni cackled. He wanted this…a real fight. One that made his blood run! Crimson did not gloat about the win. No, gloating came when the battle was over. Until then, it was nothing but dead seriousness. Giovanni sent out his Beedrill…and Crimson looked to the Dex. He paled. Level 62.
Fawn was returned to her ball and in her place was Tank. Giovanni cocked an eyebrow surprised he had a Snorlax.
"Crimson! Crimson! Blaze the scene and reign your fire upon his pyre!" Lindsay cheered.
Crimson had a sweat-drop moment considering the idea of Gary's cheerleaders cheering for him was a tiny fantasy he had that he would never openly admit.
"Really? A cheer squad?" Giovanni snarked. "No matter. Beedrill, Brick Break!"
Beedrill took a fighting stance as his stingers glowed hot white flying at Tank at full speed landing the first blow netting a lot of a damage. Rusty turned to give those students of Pokémon Tech a look only to see they already looked like they have egg on their faces.
"Grab Beedrill! Bear hug him!" Crimson said as Tank caught the Beedrill.
"Release me at once, fatass! I'll poison you!" Beedrill said.
"Try me, bitch." Tank snarled.
"I don't know what your angle is, but you fail to realize that it is futile. Beedrill, Toxic!" Giovanni said as Beedrill spewed toxins on Tank.
Nothing happened.
"How?!" Beedrill hissed.
"I'm immune. Crimson, let's roast this bitch." Tank said as Crimson smirked.
"I agree. Tank, Heat Crash!" Crimson said as Tank leapt into the air before breaking out into flames.
"AHHHH!" Beedrill screamed before slammed into the ground with fire.
A critical? Yes. Enough to knock Beedrill? No. Beedrill was at half his health as Tank stumbled back.
"Roost." Giovanni said as Beedrill landed on the ground to heal.
"Not so fast. Earthquake!" Crimson said as Tank stomped on the ground making shockwaves.
"Did you teach all your Pokémon Earthquake to spite me?" Giovanni said as a battered Beedrill flew up.
"Psychic." Crimson said as Tank's eyes glowed.
"YOU BASTA-AAAHHH!"
Down went Beedrill and Tank had jumped levels. Tank was panting and Crimson was about to recall him.
"No, I can still fight! I can hold the line a little bit longer." Tank said firmly.
"I'm so sorry, boss." Beedrill said before passing out from the pain.
Giovanni solemnly took him up before returning him before shooting back a look at Crimson. He was completely calm and focused. Something that mirrored Giovanni himself.
"Come on, boss! You can do it!" Proton cheered. "Kick his ass!"
Giovanni settled to make his next choice in Rhyperior, the final form of the Rhydon line.
"Rhyperior, the Drill Pokémon and the final form of Rhydon. From holes in its palms, it fires out Geodude. Its carapace can withstand volcanic eruptions. It's said that a ground type expert discovered the final form and wrote a book detailing the final evolution of Rhydon."
"Show them your Rock Wrecker." Giovanni said.
"Surf!" Crimson said as Tank summoned up a giant wave.
Rhyperior puts its hands together, and small chunks of gray stones come out of the holes on Rhyperior's hands and form together into a large gray rock that is outlined in red. The red outline faded as the wave came down and Rhyperior threw the rock at Tank. Both took damage, but Tank hit the ground with a broken jaw and a bad bout of unconsciousness.
"Oh crap…" Rusty thought.
"Can't win a gym battle with a flawless victory, Ryuseigan?" One Pokémon Tech student jeered.
"Whoo! Go Giovanni!" A grunt said.
"Tank, you did good. Now rest up." Crimson said as he returned him. "You will be avenged."
Fawn was sent back out as Crimson took advantage of Rhyperior needing a rest for Fawn to use Giga Drain. Fawn was about to regain some of her energy leeching off Rhyperior who looked absolutely livid.
"Rhyperior. Reversal."
A wave of orange energy bursts out of the ground around Rhyperior and one of its fists becomes covered in orange energy. Rhyperior rushed Fawn, and Crimson knew if Rhyperior was going to take down Fawn…he'd make sure Fawn had something to give back.
"Brick Break!"
WHAM! Both attacks hit sending both Pokémon down to the ground, unconscious. A double knockout that clearly got a reaction out of the both of them. Giovanni being more annoyed and Crimson being clearly trying not to look too worried. They returned their Pokémon and sent out their next ones. Atlas and Nidoking were sent out.
"Thunderbolt!" Giovanni said.
"Dodge it and use Rain Dance!" Crimson said.
Atlas bounced over dodging the electrical blast before sending a rainstorm on the arena. Nidoking asked if he intended to keep dodging forever.
"No, you poor bastard. I have you right where I want you. Crimson, now!" Atlas said.
"Hurricane!" Crimson said Atlas's body glowed white before a swirling storm of winds formed around his body.
And because it did not miss in the rain, Nidoking was dragged into the air being beaten by the winds. Rusty was watching the battle closely.
"He really has prepared well for the fight making him he could take full advantage of all at his disposal." Rusty said intently.
"Nidoking, use Sludge Wave!" Giovanni said as Nidoking spewed a stream of toxins out of his mouth in Atla's face.
"Show them your Hydro Pump!" Crimson said as Atlas returned fire with a stream of water.
Given the boost of Rain Dance and STAB, Nidoking was overwhelmed. But his attack did poison Atlas. Nidoking was out of the match and Giovanni swapped him out for Nidoqueen. Giovanni had a vicious smirk on his face. He might sacrifice Nidoqueen, but it would put Crimson without a powerhouse.
"Hurricane!/Thunder!" Crimson/Giovanni said.
Crimson went pale. Both attacks had landed, and down went Atlas. Giovanni cackled and thanked Crimson for the rain. Crimson returned Atlas and looked to the marquee.
"Critical hit, definitely. And even then, I think he just wanted Atlas out of the way. But joke's on him." Crimson thought before sending out Sir Jett.
"A shame this rain will go to waste." Giovanni taunted.
"Jett, Earthquake." Crimson said as Jett triggered a quake.
Nidoqueen was done for, but Crimson knew the heat was on. Giovanni was just down to two Pokémon left, and Giovanni sent out Dugtrio. With both Pokémon being ground types, Earthquake was out of the question for the moment as the rain fell on the battlefield.
"Dugtrio, Aerial Ace." Giovanni ordered.
"Go for it with your Aerial Ace!" Crimson shot back.
Both Pokémon became white blurs clashing twice with each other making modest amounts of damage on the other. Ironically, both Dugtrio and Jett were ordered to use Earth Power.
"Must you be so irritating!" Giovanni fumed as Crimson had nothing but a glare for him. "Dugtrio. Fissure!"
Dugtrio glowed before causing deep glowing cracks in the ground all around. Jett and Crimson knew it was game over if they fell in. Crimson gave Jett use Aerial Ace to 'fly' up into the air.
"Now come down and give the arena your best Earthquake!" Crimson said getting everyone's attention.
Jett let the glow fade as he fell with his fist glowing a fierce orange. His sunglasses had a gleam in them.
"Seismic Smash!" Jett said punching the ground to create shockwaves.
Dugtrio scrambled to move only for the shockwaves to shake the trio of mole Pokémon around. The ground cracked and crumbled as in Dugtrio's haste…the dirt gave away causing Dugtrio to fall into his own Fissure. Giovanni called for Dugtrio to use Aerial Ace only for Crimson to have Jett use Aerial Ace to grab Dugtrio to go down the hole.
"You'll wreck us both!" Dugtrio screamed.
"I know, but it'll be fucking worth it! Crimson, make sure who's left wins this fight and get me new shades! Tell Morticia, I regret nothing!" Jett said before screaming, "FOR THE MOTHERLAND!"
Jett gave Crimson a thumbs up.
BOOM! The Fissure within glowed and exploded with both Jett and Dugtrio out of the match and out cold. Jett's sunglasses were shattered, and Crimson scaled down to get him and Dugtrio out. Giovanni rolled his eyes at this act of kindness, but that was the façade to hide a fact that the boss was shaken that he was down to his final Pokémon.

"Holy shit, the boss is down to his final Pokémon." A grunt said nervously.
"And Crimson's has two left. Nothing stopping him using a Revive though." Rusty remarked to himself.
Lil' Swish was sent out who could feel this was it. The final round. Giovanni started laughing in a way that unnerved everyone in the room.
"Oh, Crimson. You have me at a corner, but I guess I'll have to resort to using it. I was saving it for you…might not be my type of preference, but it's power can not be deni-"
Alarms blared as the aurics sensed a sudden power.
"What's going on?" Giovanni said as a grunt came out.
"Sir, Mewtwo's escaped!" The grunt said.

SMASH!
A Pokémon crashed into the room. a bipedal, humanoid Pokémon with some feline features. It is primarily gray with a long, purple tail. On top of its head are two short, blunt horns, and it has purple eyes. A tube extends from the back of its skull to the top of its spine, bypassing its neck. It has a defined chest and shoulders, which resemble a breastplate. The three digits on each hand and foot have spherical tips. Its tail is thick at the base but thins before ending in a small bulb.
"Mewtwo." Crimson said under her breath.
Ash decided to try using his PokéDex hoping for an entry. He got it this time.
[Cues: Dragon Ball Kai OST – A Mighty Foe]
"Mewtwo, the Genetic Pokémon. A Psychic Pokémon whose genetic code was repeatedly recombined for research. It turned vicious as a result. It was created by a scientist after years of horrific gene-splicing and DNA-engineering experiments. Its cold, glowing eyes strike fear into its enemy."
"What are you doing?" Giovanni said.
"Leaving. I have no desire to work for you any longer." Mewtwo said coldly with telepathy. "Not when I know you tried to clone me. I have not found my purpose…I will not be a tool for you and your endeavors. Not anymore."
Crimson was trying not to laugh at Giovanni being reamed into, only for Mewtwo to turn towards him.
"Crimson." Mewtwo said.
Lil' Swish immediately got in front of his trainer. He did not care that the psychic energy was off the charts with Mewtwo. He'd have to get through him first.
"Look if you want to rip Giovanni a new hole, you'll have to step aside. He's mine. Unless you want to run them hands to get past me." Crimson said boldly. "Aside, I think you have someplace to be. So, kindly beat it."
[Music Ends]
Team Rocket expected Mewtwo to tear Crimson a new hole, but Mewtwo simply left stunning Team Rocket. Lil' Swish and Joe knew Crimson had not actually intimidated him but did not speak up as Crimson smirked.
"So, Giovanni? Care to continue?" Crimson said as Giovani had his eyes on him.
Giovanni sighed and shook his head…still in disbelief that was quickly faded.
"No, you have delivered a truly intense battle. I…I admit defeat." Giovanni said.
"Yeah, boy!" Joe whooped before turning to that grunt. "In your face!"
"No. No. NO!" Proton wailed.
The Executives and the grunts were all at a loss for words. As for Butch and Cassidy who were watching the battle live…they had a feeling it was going to end this way.
"FUCK!" Cassidy said throwing a bottle at the television.
As for the former Rocket Trio, they were so glad they were not there right now…and that they betted on Crimson.
"As proof of your victory, I hand you the Earth Badge. The Earth Badge makes Pokémon of any level obey without question. It is evidence of your mastery as a Pokémon Trainer. With all eight, you can challenge the Pokémon League." Giovanni said wistfully as a grunt begrudgingly presented Crimson the badge, TM, and the prize money. "With this loss, I can't face my followers. I have betrayed their trust. As of today, Team Rocket is finished forever!"
Silence. Crimson just kept a look of confidence.
"Then you realize what this means?" Crimson asked.
"I shall dedicate my life to training again. Let us meet again someday, Crimson, sometime…somewhere." Giovanni said revealing a remote and pressing a red button.
[Cues: Super Metroid OST – Escape]
Alarms blared as a hidden door to which Giovanni promptly took his leave with a redheaded child following him down that door. The grunts were filing out through the tunnels, but Proton had a dark look on his face.
"You may have won, but you won't enjoy this victory alive!" Proton said revealing a hidden panel and slamming his fist on a button. "Not when this building is a pile of rubble!"
"Self-destruct sequence engaged. 5 Minute Countdown!"
Proton bolted as the front doors locked down and the doors the grunts went down had closed. The last thing everyone saw was Proton flipping Crimson off as the doors closed.
"That cocksucker!" Crimson said.
"The doors are bolted. Heavy duty shit!" Joe said.
"Bulma, can you hack the system?!" Crimson pleaded.
"I can attempt to do so. But you all need to get out now!" Dex Bulma remarked.
"Everyone stand back!" Crimson said focusing his aura. "Rusty, Joe…let's blow his pop stand."
Using their aura, they blasted a hole in the wall. With the assistance of everyone else's Pokémon to widen, they all scrambled out to see police officers and International Police were swarming the place.
"Crimson!"
He spotted Vivian and Gi before screaming for them all to clear the area as the place was going to blow.

There was an explosion that sent most of them to the ground. Dex Bulma had hacked the system but was only able to reduce the power of the explosion. The gym was trashed but the building was intact. Lil' Swish came to his trainer who was still standing.
"Holy shit! Talk about one way to end our last run, but you did it! You got all eight badges." Joe remarked.
"I need to catch up. Quickly." Rusty remarked.
"Crimson!" Roulette said wiping Crimson's face. "Look alive! We got reporters."
"Mr. Ryuseigan!"
Reporters came swarming but out from the crowd came Ms. Takanawa.
"Mr. Ryuseigan, so you've uncovered the identity of the final gym leader and defeated him in battle. With Team Rocket dissolved thanks to you, the region of Kanto thanks you." Tricia Takanawa affirmed. "What do you have to say for yourself?"
"I believe this means that Kanto belongs to the Black Dragons. And I want to humbly announce the coming opening of the Black Dragon Arena." Crimson said kindly. "On a new artificial island quite like Zero Island."
"Yes, Outlaw Island. Home to the Black Dragons, a group wanting to better benefit Kanto as a tourist destination. Alongside the potential benefits to the trainer community, we want to have a grand draw to which we can with such an accomplished trainer." Roulette said. "Now please, any more questions will have to wait? My boss is quite exhausted, and it's been a long day."

The party had raged on. Outlaw Island was not exactly open completely yet, so the party was held at the mansion. There was cake, wine, and tons of laughs. But there was an underlying level of sadness among the main group knowing they were all going their separate ways. Crimson was outside on the deck having a blunt as one by one, the others he traveled with for so long came up.

"So, you did it. You got all eight, you smashed Team Rocket, what's next?" Rusty asked.
"Oh, I have plans, but I must journey on my own to continue. Besides, you, Sissi, and Rusty have your own goals to chase. We all do." Crimson said taking a drag. "But damn it, I'm going to miss you all."
"I wish I had more time honestly." Sissi remarked. "So, what's next for you, Rusty?"
"The Boulder Badge, Thunder Badge, and the Cascade Badge." Rusty said with certainty. "I didn't want to just leave before telling you what's up."
"Shit, we're heading for Sabrina to see if we can get on her waitlist. How soon you're leaving for Pewter?" Joe said only to see Rusty's face. "Oh…now."
"Yeah. I wanted to say goodbye and thanks. You guys had my back when I needed it. I feel I can stand on my own two feet for the time being." Rusty said before sending out Aguni. "This ain't exactly goodbye but see you again soon. Legends de Spada for life, bro."
"For life, bro." Joe and Crimson said as Rusty got on Aguni's back.
He took to the skies leaving a trail of embers. Joe shed a lone tear for his brother in arms.
"We should get going as well." Sissi said.
"Yeah, we want to get there before the day ends." Joe said leaving with Sissi. "Good luck, brother."
Misty and Crimson were alone on the deck.
"So, this is it…" Misty said. "I know it was coming, but damn it if it's not hard to say goodbye."
He put out the blunt.
"Yeah, there will be plenty of journeys ahead, but you never forget the first time. Misty, I'm going to miss you." Crimson admitted. "How about I drop you home? One last ride."

As Red Bullet raced through the fields of Route 25, the two were quietly reminiscing the time they spent together. So much so, they had not noticed they had rolled pasted Beige Town and were entering into Cerulean already.
Crimson pulled to a stop in front of the Waterflower Residence.
"You were vague with what you're going to do next. What are you planning to do?" She asked him.
"There's only one place that I must do to. The Indigo Plateau to conquer Kanto's final challenge." Crimson said.

Giovanni said adjusting his fedora and trench coat. "Putting together the potential of many is how you produce a huge power... That's what an organization is... That's the strength of an organization! I failed...to make the best use of my subordinates' potential...! But you shall witness one day the revival of me and my Team Rocket! You'll understand someday, son."
"To hell with that. I will never become someone like you. A coward when you're alone and acting like a tyrant when you're in front of other cowards! I will become strong! As Giovanni left into the gate, Silver heard a sneeze and turned to see he was being watched.
