The next room was had a darker color scheme, with moss growing in between the purple floor tiles. Twisted trees were surrounding the place giving the place a haunted forest where the trees appeared to be alive. Pokémon were on them, but Crimson pushed ahead. The battlefield is surrounded by six dark, stylized pillars, each of them housing what seems like a will-o'-the-wisp, giving off an eerie blue light in the darkness. A chill blew past him as he walked in. Dim lights came out to show Agatha sitting on an Arbok with a glass of wine in her hand and Arbok's tail holding her staff.

"In my day, the Ghost type was still so undiscovered. Nowadays, not so much." She said simply. "I am Agatha of the Elite Four. I hear Oak's taken a lot of interest in you, child. That old duff was once tough and handsome. But that was decades ago. He's a shadow of his former self. Now he just wants to fiddle with his Pokédex. He's a fool."

"Take it back." Crimson simply said to her surprise. "He may not battle as often, but he's still hiding steel. He picked me to carry his life's work to show a mix of brains and brawn. So, get off your snake, finish your wine, and come forth to run them hands."

Agatha drank her wine giving the glass to her Arbok to put away as she got off it while taking her staff.

"Crimson, so brave. But…" Agatha said looking up before the worn Poké Ball on the staff opened.

Her Gengar seeped out as an inky black shadow before overshadowing Agatha as she began to change returning to her prime, features and all. Her brighter blonde hair had purple ends and her eyes gained a pinkish tint just like Crimson when he was overshadowed. He supposed he should have expected that Agatha was somewhat imposing in her youth.

"I'll show you how a real battle!" Agatha said with a determined laugh before flipping back to her end of the arena. "Froslass, to battle."

Crimson liked Ice types…because they were so easy to wreck. Kimiko roasted Froslass in one move with Flamethrower. He was grateful that he had Kimiko sit out the last fight which allowed her to soak in experience points. Agatha returned her to send out Mismagius leading to Crimson returning Kimiko for Tessa.

"Finally, let's get started!" Tessa said as her Intimidate ability sparked up cutting at Mismagius's attack power.

Agatha had Mismaigus set for using Sucker Punch, but it failed as Crimson had Tessa use Electric Terrain lighting up the arena.

"Damn feline, watch how you light up the place!" Mismagius said as before Agatha called for Mismagius to use Block. "Well, you're not going anywhere!"

Mismagius had a cube of a light over the arena as she cackled.

"Don't need to run." Tessa said before using Charge. "You're right where I want you."

"Mismagius, Hypnosis." Agatha said as Crimson told Tessa to use Charge again. "Not concerned of falling asleep?"

Then she saw that the attack did not work and then she saw Crimson's grin.

"Tessa. Checkmate." Crimson said as Tessa crackled with electricity. "Rising Voltage!"

For the Pokémon in the trees, Agatha, and the audience watching, the arena and Mismagius were lit up like it was Christmas! The light faded and Mismagius floated signed with electrical burns.

"You're despicable."

WHUMP! Mismagius fell to the ground with swirls in her eyes.

"Excellent work, Tessa." Crimson said as Tessa let out a confident roar.

Mismaigus's Block over the field had faded as Agatha returned Mismagius.

"Well played. But don't get cocky!" She fumed sending out an Alolan Marowak.

Tessa remained out as Agatha called for Marowak to use Bonemerang as Crimson called for Tessa to use Rising Voltage. Tessa used the remaining power in the terrain to light up Marowak because bracing for hit from the burning bone. Tessa and the Marowak had taken significant damage…with Tessa closer to fainting then Marowak. Tessa knew the bone was coming back, but she wanted to get a lick in.

"Oi, boner boy. Lights out." Tessa said before surprising him with Thunderbolt before his bone smack Tessa over the head.

Both hit the ground to which Agatha's eye twitched. Treveant was sent out, but Kimiko had torched that tree with Blast Burn. Agatha swapped to her next Pokémon.

"Drifblim, to the air." Agatha said as Crimson returning Kimiko. "Well, you're keeping me on my toes, but the game's not over yet."

Sir Jett was sent out finally happy to be getting to debt in the fight. Drifblim laughed asking how he was going reach her.

"Jett, use Aerial Ace to get into the air." Crimson said as Jett leapt into air with his arms spread leaving a glowing white trail as he 'flew'.

"Icy Wind!" Agatha said as Drifblim blew cold wind at the croc.

Despite the damage, he made his 'mark' on the balloon Pokémon's face before landing on the ground.

"Mystical Fire!"

"Counter with Incinerate!"

The fire attack clashed making an explosion that made a cloud of smoke. Agatha called for Drifblim to use Phantom Force. Crimson closed his eyes to sense around before opening his eyes. He could feel her coming.

"To the left! Thunder Fang!" Crimson said as Jett's jaw crackled with electricity.

Jett ate the blow as Drifblim so he could bite down on one of her arms electrocuting her. Agatha called for her to shake him off, but Jett held on.

"Let's take her for a ride, Aerial Ace Divebomb!" Crimson said as Jett outstretched his arms again.

With a blazing trail, he 'flew' Drifblim down into the dirt. Drifblim restrained Jett using her arms to hold him in place before Agatha made the order to use Hyper Beam.

"Game's over." Drifblim said.

"No, it's not over. In fact, it's perfect." Crimson said as Drifblim was readying to fire. "Use Aerial Ace!"

Jett 'flew' right into her interrupting her mid-fire which had her choke on her own Hyper Beam while on the ground.

"Now, finish this with Shadow Claw!" Crimson said as Jett's claws had a shadowy black aura around them as he slashed at Drifblim's face scoring a critical.

Down went Drifblim leaving Agatha on her final Pokémon, but then she started laughing as she returned Drifblim. Laughing in a way that unnerved others as she looked up at Crimson.

"Truly you show you have the skill…but you're not getting past my final choice." Agatha said before revealing something that was hidden in her sleeves. "No…it's the end of the road for you."

A Mega Band as Crimson's heart sank. Not for the band, but because he returned exactly who she was going to use on. Before he could warn her, she activated it as out from her shadow rose another Gengar, one that was shiny. Then he saw the level and balked in concern. Level 75, practically ten levels at most over his Pokémon. Crimson would get an up-close look as both Gengar and her transformed. Shiny Mega Gengar looked as he expected, but then he saw Agatha. She was now floating with Gengar's third on her forehand while emanating with power. The look she showed was a complete lack of mercy on her, nothing but a desire for violence.

Lesser trainers would have backed down, but Crimson cracked his knuckles before turning his hat backwards. Now, everyone in the team counted as Jett got up to fight. At that point, Agatha did not need to verbally speak commands. Gengar hurled a massive Sludge Bomb at Jett who 'flew' out of the way using Aerial Ace.

"Shadow Claw!" Crimson said as Jett managed to slash Gengar with one hand only for Gengar to grab the other wrist.

"Don't make me laugh." Gengar snarled before smashing the croc's face into the ground and using Drain Punch on him.

Jett screamed in painfully as Gengar needlessly grinded his into Jett's chest. That got Crimson's blood boiling and his aura flaring especially as Gengar as glaring him down while doing it. Crimson then called for Jett to use Earthquake. With his last act before fainting, he 'Seismic Smashed' the ghost Pokémon off of him.

"You may have beaten me…but the fight isn't over." Jett said before collapsing.

Crimson returned Jett before Gengar could lunge at him.

"I'm not impressed. I thought you were stronger." Agatha said cackling. "I guess you're nothing like your father."

"I don't need to be my father to make you eat those words." Crimson said sending out Marquesha. "Marquesha, Meteronome!"

With a waggle of her fingers, she spewed out small blue flames at Gengar. It had not damaged him, but it burned him.

"Meddlesome puffball." Gengar said spew a ball of poison with Sludge Bomb.

Marquesha rolled out of the way panting from the suddenness of it.

"Misty Terrain." Crimson said as Marquesha releases a thick light blue mist from her body.

The arena had covered the surrounding area with it to which Gengar leapt out from the mist to face Marquesha into the ground while repeatedly punching her in the face. She tried Metronome again only to appear to uselessly spray water in Gengar's face before he slammed her up against the pillar.

"That feel good, bitch? How's it feel to be a dying woman, bitch!" Gengar taunted with each hit. "Soaked in your blood."

"What's the matter, Crimson? Speechless?!" Agatha taunted.

[Cues: Pokemon Black & White 2 OST Gym Leader Battle Music (Last Pokemon)]

Marquesha caught the next punch before returning with a Mega Punch, as Agatha began to cackle. Gengar laughed as well thinking it was going to phase through him, only for it to hit his jaw hard enough to get him into the ground and knock out a tooth.

"No! That's impossible! Gengar's a Ghost-type!" Agatha said as Gengar got up with his hand wiping some of blood of his mouth.

"Not at the moment, he's not." Crimson said with a grin. "That water attack earlier. It wasn't useless…that was Soak which turns the target into a Water type. Which means…Marquesha, light this asshole up."

Marquesha crackled with electricity as Gengar was hyperventilating citing that she'll miss.

"Shock Wave never misses." Marquesha said firing blue electricity out zapping Gengar.

"GYAAHH!" Gengar said staggering back.

"Marquesha, looks like you're in for the home stretch! You can do it!" Crimson said as Kimiko, Morticia, and Rhint let themselves out to cheer Marquesha on.

It was down to a bloody fistfight between the fairy and the ghost. She weaved and jabbed Gengar in his right eye with a Mega Punch.

"Now, use Moonblast!" Crimson said as Marquesha formed a glowing pinkish-white sphere in her right hand.

She crossed paths with Gengar who used Sludge Bomb creating an explosion that sent Marquesha flying to which Crimson caught her.

"I did what I could…but it's not enough." Marquesha said before passing out.

Gengar roared before leaping into the air with a Shadow Ball in hand coming down towards them. Crimson threw Marquesha into the air and activated his Mega Band. Morticia, in the process of Mega Evolving, throwing an Ice Punch to Gengar's third eye causing Gengar's Shadow Ball to dissipate before sending him back into the arena. The transformation was complete, Crimson had the same additional features as Agatha, but lacked the extra eye. He floated down as well before catching Marquesha.

"I'm ending this." Morticia said seething with anger.

"Funny, Jett and that pink bitch said the-" Gengar said before getting a flash of Morticia's glowing eyes. "Oh shi-"

He fell asleep. Instead of using Dream Eater, Morticia unleashed a barrage of Drain Punches to the sleeping Gengar's face. After four, he woke up to catch her next one.

"Game's over, I…GAH!" Gengar said as the burn on him reared his head again.

He stumbled back dazed before realizing what was about to happen. He coughed before glaring not at her but at Crimson.

"Well played, asshole."

[Cues: Pokémon HG/SS OST – Victory! (Gym Leader/Elite Four)]

THUMP! Gengar had fallen as did Agatha as the transformation faded from both. A weakened Gengar limped out of her shadow returning her completely to normal. She was on her hands and knees looking completely drained. The battle was over…and victory was for Crimson and his team. Crimson and Morticia returned to normal as she floated over to hug her trainer.

Agatha was panting as Crimson looked over at her.

"I wanted to warn you. Mega Evolution isn't something to be trifled with, especially for Gengar. It brings out your darkest side…and even drive your Gengar to turn on you if not mastered. You clearly haven't done it before…hell of a Pokémon to begin using Mega Evolution on for the first place." Crimson said.

"I…I…nearly…"

"This is why knowledge is needed." Crimson said as the way opened. "Thanks to the Dex, I knew about this…which is why I'm hesitant to use it."

He returned all his Pokémon before walking to the door leaving Agatha haunted in her own thoughts. He stopped at the doorway.

"Bloodlust for battle can only get you so far…without the temperament and wisdom." He said before leaving her behind.
