Kagome let out a warbled laugh, unable to stop smiling. "Does this mean you're not mad anymore?"
"I did not say that."
Sighing, she leaned her head against his chest. "I did know what I was doing. You can trust me."
"I do."
"But?"
He tilted her chin up, eyes blazing with such intense emotion that it took her breath away. "I will not take chances with your life. No matter how likely the outcome."
"You can't protect me from everything, Sesshoumaru." He simply raised an eyebrow, and she couldn't help but laugh. "You can't!"
