"They seemed okay, right?" Anxiety began to leech into her aura as they neared the garden, the tightening of his arm around her waist a comforting pressure.
"You are doubting your abilities now?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Well, no," she said, biting her lip before squaring her shoulders. "No. I know I did it right."
"What distresses you then?"
A sigh escaped her lips. "I just want them to be happy. Naraku stole so many happy endings, and I know I can't fix them all, but—"
He hooked a finger under her chin, pulling her close to brush a kiss to her forehead. "Even if it was just for a moment, I am sure Mother will be grateful to have seen her mate again."
