Boiling Point
Quick Time
Things moved fast after that, faster than they'd moved in a long time.
Quickly, Sokka relayed his plans to all involved, making it quite clear that they would use Azula's arrival to their advantage, though he did admit he'd left out a few details when he explained things to Zuko other than the fact he would make sure that Zuko was free to move about when the time came. Somehow, Lu Ten had the feeling Sokka didn't want Zuko to know his overly-gifted sister was coming, yet he was more than willing to pass on a message from Lu Ten that he was proud of him.
Somehow, Sokka managed to get a guard to let all of the prisoners out of their cells, though Lu Ten still couldn't see Zuko's face. He still didn't see Zuko when the riot started, as per the plan, so that they might make their way towards one of the Gondola, but then he appeared and they moved towards the gondola, where Sokka and Zuko disagreed on how to capture the warden which allowed Lu Ten to see the right side of Zuko's face.
Zuko looked like Ursa.
Someone patted him on the back letting him know that Suko, the girlfriend of Sokka had captured the warden and that they were to move onto the gondola, the whole time Lu Ten's brain going over all the things he wanted to tell Zuko when he finally got the chance to do so, but there were so many things he'd thought over the last five years. More importantly, everything was going fine, yet...
Lu Ten should have known that with Azula involved things wouldn't necessarily go the way they were planned.
Again, things happened in what felt like a blue as Azula propelled her towards them using Firebending, and Ty Lee—Lu Ten was sure it was Azula's childhood friend—ran across the rope using her acrobatic skills. He'd barely looked at Zuko when his son started crawling out the window of the gondola roof so that they might take care of the problem they now faced, but again he saw Zuko from the right side.
Nobody paid attention to the warden as the gag came off and he suddenly gave the order to cut the line.
Akio and Lu Ten looked at each other, but both knew what they should do at that very moment. Without hesitation, despite not having the same level of mobility as Zuko and Sokka who were far younger than them they quickly climbed onto the roof, but with Firebending skills that felt ever so rusty they launched a calculated fire blast at the guards attempting to cut the lines, knocking them onto the ground, but they completely prepared to repeat their actions.
"Lu Ten?"
Hearing Azula behind him was far from pleasant, yet Lu Ten turned anyways which made him see her friend Ty Lee standing next to her, ready to attack despite the fact there were three other opponents. Lu Ten narrowed his eyes at the princess. "Cocky much Azula?"
The way her mouth twisted into a smirk told him she did think she could take on the three Firebenders while Ty Lee took care of the non-bending threat, yet Lu Ten couldn't help but feel Azula overestimated her abilities. Except, what happened next wasn't something any of those on the roof expected, as Ty Lee suddenly struck out at Azula's chi points, making her collapse onto the roof. She glared at the other girl. "Ty Lee!"
"I'm sorry Azula," Ty Lee said.
"Sorry? I'm the princess of the Fire Nation, heir to the throne! This is treason!"
Ty Lee looked down at her, her usual smirk missing. "Is it?"
"How can you even question that?" The way Azula spat out flames, the only thing left she could do was pitiful.
"How can you not, given the fact your cousin Lu Ten is standing here in front of you very much alive?" Ty Lee then said, "If he is standing here alive, then it is your father who is a traitor to a Fire Nation, but I am choosing to side with the real heir to the throne as well as the true Fire Lord."
"Uncle Iroh is an old fool..."
"He's not," Zuko stated.
Lu Ten looked up, hoping to get a look at the boy's face, only for Zuko to slip from the roof before he could, as if not wanting to finish the argument with his sister, not that Lu Ten could blame him. The others decided to leave Azula to her own devices was best, but much to his surprise he and Akio made it back inside. "Do I feel rusty."
This statement of his was met with an almost silence as Azula raged and fumed above them, but eventually, the gondola arrived safely on the other side and they moved towards Azula's airship. When they arrived, Ty Lee hesitated. "I've got to go back for Mai."
"Mai considers us traitors to the Fire Nation," Zuko stated firmly, a great deal of anger in his voice, but Lu Ten couldn't see his face at all.
"That..."
Suki held out her hand. "Come be an honorary Kyoshi Warrior and if we win this war become an official one."
"What?" Ty Lee's eyes blinked.
"I sparred with you. You're quite good."
"I don't know, but I am choosing this side now." The grin returned to her face and Ty Lee thankfully came on board. She then turned to Lu Ten. "So, you're really alive?"
"Yeah. I'm really alive."
"Iroh escaped his prison cell," Ty Lee stated. "It was during the Black Sun."
For some reason, she seemed to think that the latter part was important to add. "I like him. He was always nice to me. Azula's not really nice."
"No. She's not."
"Zuko's nice when he's not..." Ty Lee paused, but Lu Ten saw Zuko flinch.
"You mean trying to please daddy?" Sokka scoffed. "Yeah. We're past that."
It was then that Zuko turned and Lu Ten was able to see his face, but what he saw made Lu Ten suck in his breath, but he heard Akio say, "Dear Agni."
Lu Ten swallowed as the airship took off into the sky. "Zuko..."
"Look, I..."
"What happened to your face?"
Zuko startled, looking him in the eye. "Father did it."
Anger coursed through his entire body, yet Lu Ten wondered if he were not to blame given the fact there was always the chance Ozai might figure it out, let alone suspect that Zuko wasn't his. He should have simply asked why, or something else, yet he made a mistake that Lu Ten knew was a mistake the moment he said it. "He's not your father."
