AND SO CAME THE DAY OF THE TEST EXERCISE!
Haru smiled to herself, she had passed her written test and now she stood with her classmates in full costume in front of the pro heroes waiting to hear what the test was going to be on. She glanced at Bakugo, he hadn't spoken much to her in the past few days and she was a little worried, but she couldn't lose her focus now. She needed to pass this test.
Aizawa was the first to speak.
"Right, the test exercise will begin shortly. Obviously, you can fail this test, too. So if you want to head to the forest lodge, then we'd better not see any pitiful blunders from you."
She heard Jiro ask why there were so many teachers.
"I've no doubt you all learned what information you could of the test beforehand so I think you already hold a vague notion of what you are to do."
Haru heard her classmates saying it was just like the entrance exam, she had a sinking feeling they were wrong, as if to prove her right a large white mouse in a suit, the principal of UA, crawled out of the bandages around Aizawa's neck.
"Sorry, I'm afraid not! Due to various reasons, we're changing the contests of the test, starting today!"
Naturally this caused a bit of fear to hit the students as the principal explained that the test was changed due to the surge of villains.
"From now on, we'll focus our test more on person-on-person battle activities and emphasizing a teaching environment closer to that of a real battle! Which, boys and girls, is all to say...that henceforth we will have you form pairs to engage in combat with one of these here educators!"
The principal paused to let the news set in.
'I knew it.'
Haru sighed.
"Now, who all of you are paired with and which teacher you'll be fighting have already been decided. The way you tend to move, your grades, and your degree of familiarity..we personally judged how you'll be pairing up based on all sorts of things, and we'll list the match ups now."
Aizawa seemed to smirk.
"First off Todoroki's with Yayorozu as a team against me. And Midoriya, you're with Bakugo and Haru as a team. As for who your opponent will be."
All Might grinned.
"I'm here to oblige! Now cooperate and come at me to win, wonder trio!"
Haru gulped.
'This is worse than I thought.'
The four of them loaded one of the busses, Midoriya looking terrified in the front, Bakugo looking pissed in the back, and Haru sitting in the middle with her legs crossed and her eyes closed remembering everything she had been taught on how to keep her quirk under control and not hurt herself. You could cut the tension in the air with a knife until the bus stopped and they realized they were outside one of the city scapes.
"Alright. This is the stage we'll be fighting in."
Midoriya was shaking.
"By "Fight" You don't mean you want us to beat you, right, All Might?"
Haru rolled her eyes.
"Why so hasty, Mr. Pessimist! I'll explain it all now. The time is 30 minutes! Your win condition is either to pin these handcuffs on me, or, alternatively, for either one of you three to escape from this stage!"
Haru nodded in understanding.
"So we can learn how to adapt to a villain with more experience than us."
All Might grinned with pride.
"That's right! This will be a test of your judgment! However, you might be thinking "with this set up, isn't running the only real option?" Well, we commissioned the department of support and had these super compressor weights made up for us!"
All Might held up what looked like an ankle weight and proceeded to put them on his wrist and ankles.
"I'm strapping on weights equal to around half of my body weight! "Handicaps" they call 'em. It's an old classic, but it'll make it harder for us to move, and shave our strength."
Haru nodded in understanding until Bakugo spoke up.
"Is all that just to let us consider fighting? You're looking down on me."
All Might laughed.
"I wonder!"
All Might moved into the arena while Haru, Midoriya, and Bakugo walked in waiting for the buzzer to start.
"This is not going to be easy."
Haru mumbled while they heard the buzzer go off and Bakugo started yelling at Midoriya to stop following him, Haru rolled her eyes and walked ahead. Not particularly caring for their ridiculous argument over if they should fight or run, only pausing when she heard Bakugou hit Midoriya and knock him on the ground.
"Will you two knock it off?!"
The pair looked at Haru in shock at her outburst as flames engulfed her hands from her own temper.
"We have to work together to get through this and pass! Midoriya! Stop being a wuss! Bakugou! Stop being a bully!"
Haru trailed off as the sound of a bomb going off hit her ears, thinking fast she forced her flames into the ground and forced herself into the air just as Midoriya and Bakugou got hit with the blast that came from All Might. Landing on the ground Haru stood crouched and at the ready as All Might started to appear in the dust as he walked towards them.
"If you're thinking of this as just a test. Then you're in for a world of pain. I am a villain, oh Heroes. Come at me and put your whole hearts into it!"
In the blink of an eye All Might rushed forward at Bakugou, who stood his ground while Midoriya and Haru yelled at him to run.
"We can't win head to head!"
Haru growled as Bakugou tried to hit All Might only for his face to be grabbed, thinking fast Bakugou raised his arms and shot explosions at All Might only for All Might to throw him on the ground. As soon as Bakugou hit the ground Haru formed her whip and wrapped it around All Might trying to hold him while Bakugou stood up only for All Might to grab the whip and throw Haru several feet. Growling she slowly got up, the world spinning as her head stung.
"Damn it."
Looking around she watched as Midoriya and Bakugou seemed to be arguing, rolling her eyes as she stood up and walked over to them, keeping an eye out for All Might.
"Look, we need a plan."
She stated simply.
"I'm not failing this test and I don't think either of you want to either. A head to head fight with All Might doesn't work."
The trio thought for a moment before Haru smirked.
"It's so simple."
The boys looked at her in confusion.
"All we need is a close range attack to distract him long enough for us to run."
She grinned at the boys before they took off to find All Might again, spotting him Haru made her whip again and quickly lassoed him while yelling at Midoriya who jumped up and used Bakugou's arm grenade to fire at All Might before the three students took off running.
After a few seconds of running the classmates were tackled by All Might, his foot on Bakugou's back and he had Midoriya and Haru by their arms.
"Beautifully done! You reluctantly cooperated to fight against the enemy. But! For you three that was merely a prerequisite for this exam. Get it. I've got around twenty seconds, so how about I go about tying down you little scamps?"
Bakugou rolled and stood up pointing his grenade at All Might only for All Might to break it by punching it, dropping Midoriya and Haru in the process. As All Might turned to look at Bakugou Haru spotted the exit roughly fifty feet away, jumping up she grabbed Midoriya's collar and shooting flames out of her feet, grabbing onto Bakugou's collar as the force of her blast shot the trio over the finish line.
Glancing at her teammates, Haru smirked at seeing they were both knocked out. Hearing footsteps she smiled at All Might as he approached them.
"Well done little Haru."
She beamed at him as her eyes got heavy with exhaustion.
"Thanks Papa."
