Discliamer: Hell yeah I own them...just not in reality. -sob-
A/N: Not the best thign I've written. The ending doesn't...flow.
There was a small sniffle. 'Riku! You liar!' A stomp of the foot this time.
'Sora, I wouldn't lie to you. You're my best friend.'
Sora glared at the silver haired boy, tears beaming in his sapphire eyes. 'You are lying! I know it!'
'My Mom told me Sora.'
He gasped. Mom's never lied. 'D-did she really?'
Riku nodded, 'She told me that I was old enough to know she was San'na.'
Sora made a face, tears gone. 'She couldn't be San'na. She's a girl.' He said the word like venom.
'She's not a girl, you know that,' It was his 'Sora, you're so stupid voice' and it was accompanied by the 'Sora, gimme a break' eye roll. 'She's a mom. Duh. Mom's can do anything.'
Sora was about to protest when he realized how right his friend was. He swore his Mom could do anything. 'Wait, wait! Riku, if you're Mum's San'na then there IS a San'na.'
Riku put a hand on his forehead like he was a Father speaking to a two year old who had just asked why for the bajillyenth time. 'Sora, Sora, Sora.' He said in his best tut-tut voice. 'That's not what I meant.' His cute voice hit the 't' hard. 'She is the one who buys he gifts and puts them under the tree.'
'B-but some say 'From Santa'.' Sora was desperately trying to prove there was a Santa but he had a feeling Riku was going to win. Stupid Riku.
'Our Mom's write that.' His tone suggested that Sora's question was just flicked off his shoulder.
'But the cookies are eaten! The care-rots too!'
'Carrots not Care-rots.' Riku corrected and Sora just made a face. 'Mom eats them.'
Sora finally felt defeated as his lower lip began to quiver and his big eyes glassed over. 'There's no San'na then…' he whispered, staring at Riku in hope. The older boy shut his eyes and shook his head.
'No San'na.' He confirmed.
Sora sniffled and wiped his eyes with the back of his hand, tears cascading down his round cheeks. Riku felt bad for telling him that, but, Sora was his best friend and if he was told, then Sora should know too. Riku pulled the little boy into a hug.
'Its okay, Sora.' He said softly and pulled a piece of brown hair, making Sora grumble through small sobs.
'It's not okay.' He snapped quietly. 'My Mommy and Daddy have been lying to me!'
'Only to make you happy.'
Sora grumbled, half accepting that this was a justifiable reason to lie. He looked up, staring into his friend's eyes. 'Would you ever lie to me, Riku?'
He shook his head. 'No. I already I said so. Best Friend's don't lie to each other.'
Sora's lips curved up into a smile and he bounced back, pulling back on Riku's long silver hair. 'Then I say you look like a girl.' He teased.
Riku frowned and grabbed at Sora's side, tickling him. 'I do not.'
'Best Friend's don't lie!' He laughed and escaped he nine-year-old's clutches, scampering off towards the tree house.
Riku chased after him, dead set on filling his mouth with sea water for saying he looked like a girl. Well, at least he wasn't crying anymore.
The day passed by and Sora went around proclaiming to everyone there was no Santa (after he washed the taste of sea water from his mouth). The next day he and Riku ended up getting in trouble 'ruining the Christmas surprise for other children' and they also got a promise that Santa wouldn't bring them anything good that year. They just giggled at the thought of Santa. Pft. Yeah right.
