Chapter 4
A Duel of Rivals and Meeting Game Morgana
April 9th 2018
Ren wakes up to another day in Tokyo with Lavenza by his side and…he remembered what happened yesterday.
"Ugh." Ren said as Lavenza and Morgana woke up.
"Good morning love." Lavenza said as she cutely yawned.
"Morning Ren what's wrong?" Morgana asked.
"What happened yesterday wasn't a dream was it?" Ren asked as the two Ex-Velvet Room residents shook their heads.
"It wasn't Ren but yeah we're in a video game." Morgana said.
"We also watched a movie and had curry then went to bed." Lavenza said.
"Oh yeah…I liked that movie that Miyazaki guy is good not gonna lie especially how he portrayed how a young person is adapting into becoming an adult and how the clashing of Tradition and Progress effected Kiki's life." Ren said as he gave his opinion on the Movie.
"Good grief who's idea was it to give Ren that book about Cinema?" Morgana said.
"I believe that was yours Mona." Ren said.
Morgana grumbled at that.
"Lavenza chuckled at that." Ren thought that she was adorable.
Ren then received a notification from Sophia.
"Good morning Ren." Sophia said as she gave a small hiccup.
"Morning Sophia." Ren said happy to see the AI.
He also noticed the hiccup.
"What's wrong Sophie?" Ren asked.
Sophia was silent at first but then she sighed.
"You have a message… from Akechi Goro." Sophia said.
Ren's eyes went wide as did Morgana's and Lavenza's.
Ren then read the message.
Akechi: it has been a long time since Muraki I hope you haven't forgotten
Ren had a good idea on what he was talking about.
Ren: I haven't Akechi when and where
Akechi: hmmm you chose the Where and as for when today
Ren: alright then…Pancake Boy
Akechi: DON'T FUCKING CALL ME THAT YOU ASSHOLE
Ren chuckled but then he looked at Lavenza with a serious look.
Lavenza knew what Ren sought.
"As long as you hold the Key to the Velvet Room you may enter it as you please and yes even after…that incident." Lavenza said.
"I just hope Igor doesn't mind me smashing the table as I kick Akechi's ass." Ren said.
"Not his chair?" Lavenza asked.
Don't you remember the last time we sat on his chair. Ren said with a flat look on his face.
Lavenza blushed at that.
"To be fair Ren you were trying to put a kid in Lavenza while sitting on it." Morgana said with a cheeky grin on his face.
"Shut it furball. Let's go Lavenza." Ren said.
"Morgana, Sophia let the others know." Lavenza said as Morgana and Sophia did so.
Shibuya
The Guess and Atendent arrived at Shibuya where they spot the person who sent the message Akechi Goro.
Akechi has shaggy, neck length brown hair with bangs and reddish-brown eyes. He wears a tan peacoat with black buttons, striped black and white tie, black pants, black gloves and black loafers. His casual winter outfit consists of a white long sleeve shirt with flaps under a blue argyle sweater vest, beige pants and brown shoes.
"Hello Ren it has been a while." Akechi said.
"Two years Akechi." Ren said.
The two of them stare at each other until Ren spoke.
"Let's go Akechi." Ren said as he went to where a Velvet Room door was at.
Soon the three of them entered the Velvet Room.
Velvet Room
As soon as Ren and Akechi went into the Velvet Room they transformed.
Ren got into his Metaverse form.
While Akechi's Metaverse outfit is a body-covering, black and dark blue striped outfit. In this form, he has several black studded belts strapped around his legs and arms, a short black cape and clawed gauntlets. He also wears a dark enclosed knight helmet, with a black and blue mask tinted red where the eyes are at, resembling a sharp beak.
In this form he is known as Crow.
Soon the two of them went to opposite sides they stared at each other. Until Joker removed his mask.
"RAOUL!" Joker shouted as he summoned his Persona.
Raoul Resembled Arsène but in a more modern and steampunk-inspired design. It's most apparent distinctions are the mechanical wings made of leather and metal, with a shape akin to the wings of bats. It is dressed in a vivid red jacket with golden trims, a white shirt paired with black-tie underneath and topped with a red fedora. It wears a black belt with a gold buckle, dark pants and thigh-high boots that are decorated with gold studs on the sides of its thighs. It wears white, fingerless gloves with gold-tipped claws at the end of its fingers. It is also equipped with long, bladed heels much like Arsène. Similarly, it has a demonic face with red eyes and holds a cigarette in its jagged mouth resembling sharp teeth or fangs.
Soon Crow did the same.
"HEREWARD!" Crow shouted as he summoned his Persona.
Hereward resembled one of his old Personas Robin Hood. But it was colored black the RH on Hereward's chest was colored red. The helmet has black bat wings and Hereward was holding a black modern composite bow and a tattered cape.
The two of them looked at them and then they charged.
One epic fight between rivals later.
The Velvet Room was a mess the only thing that was still standing was Igor's chair.
Both Persona users were exhausted but Joker was standing and Crow was on the ground.
"So you won. Heh if I had to lose to someone I'm glad it was you." Crow said.
"Thanks Akechi." Joker said as he uses Crow's real name.
"Heh…I do have one question though who was that robot angel guy you used and how did you get him?" Crow asked as he sits up.
"You mean Metatron? Well I guess I should explain my powers a bit." Joker said as he explains about his powers of the Wild Card.
Crow nods as he begins to understand.
"Ok I think I get it so every person has a specific Arcanum within the Major Arcana of the Tarot and once you make a bond unbreakable you gain a powerful Persona in that corresponding Arcanum…" Crow said as he realized something.
"Ah Crow what's wrong." Joker asked.
Crow facepalmed.
"Oh my fucking gods you beaten me with the power of friendship." Crow said in disbelief.
Joker was about to say something but then he thought about for a second and realized that he was right.
"Holy shit you're right." Joker said as his eyes widen in disbelief.
"I supposed that is true." Lavenza said as she came out from behind Igor's chair.
"Heh like this can't get any worse." Crow said as he summoned Murphy and Joker cringed.
"…Yeah about that Metatron comes from the Justice Arcanum." Joker said as Crow's eyes widen as he added two plus two.
"…FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!"
Sometime later in Leblanc
Soon Ren came back with Akechi. At first they were worried about him but after he told them about what happened in the Velvet Room.
They all started laughing at the ex-Detective Prince.
Futaba despite laughing her ass off spoke.
"OMG flamingo not did Ren beat your ass with the power of friendship but it's the friendship you made with Ren." Futaba said as she laughed.
Akechi who is quietly eating his curry in shame looked at Ren and Lavenza.
"Fuck you Ren for summoning Metatron and Fuck you Lavenza for making him." Akechi said.
"No thank you I rather let Ren fuck me." Lavenza said with a grin.
This made the fellow Phantom Thieves laugh even harder.
"Oh my gods that was epic Lav." Ann said.
"Indeed we may need to treat that burn." Haru said.
"I believe I have the perfect sound effect for this." Sophia said as plays a sound clip.
(Play OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHH sound clip)
Akechi asked Sojiro for an extra-large Irish coffee. Sojiro despite having multiple reasons not to do it. Decides to do so. He felt bad for the guy…well ok not really.
Soon the laughter dies down as Makoto asked a Question.
"Say Ren which Arcana did we represent?" Makoto asked.
"Well I could tell you…but I think the game will tell us." Ren said.
"Huh game what game?" Akechi said confused about what Ren said.
5 minutes later at Ren's room
Akechi looked at the letter and the Persona 5 Royal game box in disbelief once again.
Ren explained about what had happened yesterday he also told him about yesterday's session.
"Only you Ren only you." Akechi said as he sits down.
This time it was just the Phantom thieves, Lavenza, Sojiro and Kuon. Sae, Kawakami and Tae had work while Akane had school today.
"Ok then let's start up from the last session." Futaba said as she turns on the game.
She loads her game and it starts up.
We soon find ourselves back at Kamoshida's palace. Game Ren and Game Ryuji were standing there until Game Ren turns to look at Game Shadow Kamoshida.
"Oh dear gods I'm assuming that this is Kamoshida's Palace." Akechi asked as Ren, Morgana, Ryuji and Ann nod.
"Fraid so dude." Futaba said.
"Oh for fucks sake." Akechi said.
Game Ren soon finds a way out of there then both he and Game Ryuji reach a place where two submerged cages are at.
"Yeesh… Can we really get across this? On the other hand, there's nowhere else we can try… Alright, let's get to hopping." Game Ryuji said as a tutorial for special actions appeared on screen.
"Oh come on another one." Futaba said getting annoyed at this.
"Just calm down Futaba I sure they won't make a tutorial for every little thing." Sojiro said as he unwillingly called Murphy.
Futaba continues to play until they find the cognitions of other students as prisoners.
"Ok real talk did you two thought they were real students?" Zenkichi asked.
"Yeah we did gramps." Ryuji said.
"Huh I see anyway when do we meet the cat?" Zenkichi asked.
"Right about now." Ren said as Futaba got near Game Morgana cage.
Game Ren and Game Ryuji but see what looks like an anthropomorphic and biped tuxedo cat-like creature with a large spheroidal head. His fur is predominantly black, except on his limbs and tail which appear white. The bottom front half of his face or his mouth is also white. Morgana wears a mask that covers much of his face (which can be unbuttoned from behind) with elliptic eyes consisting of white sclerae, blue irises and black pupils. His outer ears are black with white inner ears. He has a yellow scarf around his neck and a utility belt around his hips, with two golden buttons and two bags attached. He has pink paw pads.
"Enter Morgana or Mona in this case." Haru said as she chuckled.
Morgana groaned at that it wasn't his proudest moment. But it was also the moment that he met a lifetime friend.
"Gah what is that thing!?" Game Ryuji said.
"You're not solders of this castle, right!? Get me out of here! Look, the key is right there!" Game Morgana said.
"We're trying to get the hell out of here! I mean, you obviously look like an enemy too!" Game Ryuji said.
"Ryuji-kun Mona-chan is locked up there how on earth is he an enemy." Haru said.
"Oh come on put yourself in my shoes in that day Haru-Chan." Ryuji said.
Haru thought about for a bit and realized that Ryuji had a point, a small one but still a point.
Game Morgana was telling Game Ryuji and Ren that he was trapped in their like the rest of the cognitions. Then a scene with Sadayo shows up. She complains about Ren being late.
"Damn Sadayo looks like shit." Futaba said.
"Note to self, give Sadayo a premium pass to a spa." Ren said wanting to make up with Sadayo.
We then see Game Morgana dissing Game Ryuji and praising Game Ren as he pulled down Kamoshida's Jaw. This led to lowering the drawbridge. However it soon turned into a cutscene where the group encountered another Knight.
"Oh yeah baby it's my time to shine." Morgana said edger to show his might.
"Real humble of you Mona." Futaba said.
Game Ryuji panicked while Game Ren Transformed into his Metaverse Form and Game Morgana jumped off Game Ryuji's Shoulder.
"Tch… You amateur! Stay Still!" Game Morgana said as he looks at Game Ryuji.
He the looks at Game Ren and asks.
"Hey, you can fight, right? Let's go! Come… Zorro!" Game Morgana said as he summoned his Persona.
The version of Zorro Game Morgana summons looks more muscular, with the exception of its thighs and feet which look very similar to humans'. He also has a large belt with a huge belt buckle shaped like a "Z." He wields a rapier, similar to what he uses in his original iteration.
"Y-You got one of those things too!?" Game Ryuji said as he looks at Zorro.
"Hmph, we will promptly shut them up!" Game Morgana said as the battles starts.
"Incubus and a Jack o Lantern meh. Trash them Futaba" Ren said as Futaba beats them.
"Ok for once I'm not annoyed by the fact that there was a tutorial there." Futaba said as she kicks ass.
"Whoa hold on a minute?! You get money from fighting those Shadow things." Sojiro said.
"Yup, what you thought that my part time jobs funded the Thieves?" Ren said as Sojiro nods.
"Yeah I did." Sojiro said.
"Sweet Level Up. Oh a new move nice!" Futaba said as she sees that Arsene gets a new move.
"Oh Sukunda is next." Haru said.
Futaba kept playing after that.
Soon the group save Game Morgana leaves the Palace where the police bust them and takes them to school. Where they got into trouble with Game Kamoshida.
Soon it skips forward to the interrogation with Game Sae asking questions about Game Kamoshida and disbelieving about the Palace and Morgana.
Soon it came back to Game Ren where he spoke with Sadayo and introduced himself to his class and they start making up Bullshit Rumors about him.
"Ha no way that will happen." Futaba said as she sees the current objective.
Sojiro grumbled at that.
They soon see Game Ren falling asleep and going back to the Velvet Room.
Game Ren wakes up to the Game Twins and Game Igor.
"…About time you've come to. On your feet, Inmate!" Game Caroline said as she strikes the cell.
"Our master wishes to speak with you. It's for your own sake that you take his words to heart." Game Justine said.
Good grief why did I listen to that asshole. Ren said knowing Yaldabaoth was on that chair.
"It is alright my love he won't hurt you anymore." Lavenza said.
"I know Lav I know." Ren said.
Akechi gagged at this lovefest.
They soon hear the Game Igor's explanation about Personas and the Metaverse Navigator soon Game Ren wakes ups and goes to school.
It was at the Station where Game Ren meets Game Katsumi.
Sumire shivered seeing herself trapped in Katsumi's form. Ren comforted Sumire telling her that her sister will always be by her side.
Ryuji insults the salaryman for taking the seat that was meant for the old lady.
Game Ren soon gets to school where he gets to class and gets asked a question.
"Uh Ren which is the answer?" Futaba asked.
"Don't you have a guide for that shit Taba?" Ryuji said.
"Oh right I do." Futaba said as she checks the guide.
She picks her answer and gets it right.
Soon school ended and Game Ryuji was waiting for Game Ren.
Yo. Game Ryuji said as Game Ren responded.
Game Ryuji soon talked about the castle and wants to go back know that it was somehow connected to Game Kamoshida. They soon decide to retrace their steps only to appear back at Shujin…twice after that happened Ryuji decide to look at his phone only to notice the Metaverse Navigator.
Everyone just looked at Ryuji for a solid second before going back to the game.
Soon a cutscene played where Shujin Academy transforms into the castle. When the two entered Game Ryuji noticed Game Ren changing clothes.
They soon notice Game Morgana coming out to greet them and then proceeds to explain what the castle is then they heard screams from the cognitive students. They entered the palace and they went to the dungeon where Game Morgana teaches them about Ambushes and another tutorial pops up.
After the battle is done Game Ryuji notices the lack of prisoners in the dungeon. Game Morgana believes that they had already been transferred. When Game Ryuji hears footsteps.
Game Morgana takes them into a safe room. Where he explained about Palaces and the will of rebellion.
After that Futaba saves the game.
"Ok I say we get some lunch." Futaba said.
"Meh what the hell I'll buy." Akechi said as he pulls out a wad of Yen.
"That's surprisingly kind of you Akechi." Ren said surprised at Akechi's generosity.
"Oh do get me wrong Ren I'm still fucking pissed that you kicked my ass Shonen Anime style. But whatever I'm in the mood for some pizza." Akechi said.
Everyone agreed to pizza and after about 45 minutes the pizzas arrived.
Akechi opens one box for the group while he give both Ren and Lavenza two individual sized pizzas.
The Rebel and Attendant opened the boxes and they frown.
"Fuck you Goro." Ren said as took a slice of Pineapple Pizza.
Lavenza on the other hand gives Akechi the finger as she picks the pickles off of her pizza.
Let it be known that Akechi Goro can be petty.
Though he may have lost his duel against Ren he still feels like a winner as he eats his slice of pepperoni in triumph.
