Ten minutes later MacGyver walked up onto the bridge and over to the captain's chair. She pass him sheet of paper "a pick up has already been made" Every one turn to her
"already" mike said
"Yes from the messages the person who done the pick up is heading to the rondevu point to pick up the second package"
"Semtex" Dutchy asked
"That what i'm thinking as well but we still don't know where the target it"
"sir i got a radar contact it an FFV and it not moving" Bird said
"what a FFV doing this far south" Charge said
"Lets go and find out" Mike said MacGyver thought about it
"sir i think it the boat that was being used to transfer the men and the cases, X where the text sheets"
"Here" Mike said when he passed them to her. She look down them
"Here, where at four this morning the men and cases was transferred to another boat"
"We don't know for sure if it is the same boat" Mike said
"If it is and the boat not moving meaning that those men been contaminated then there is a leak in one more more of those cases"
"Let's find out first shall we"
"Yes sir"
"If you are right i'll buy you a year's worth of chocolates"
"OOHHH" coming from the crew
"Ok and if i'm wrong i'll buy you three months worth of ingredients of chinese food that you love so much"
"You're on" they shook hands.
When they were close the boarding team boarded the boat and MacGyver found a ginna counter and the crew three out of the four were dead. MacGyver managed to talk to the fourth guy with two dads next to her with his helmet cam recording what the guy was saying before he died.
"Charlie eight two sir you owe me chocolate the crew are all dead. One was alive long enough to tell me that he picked up a man and four cases, they opened one thinking it was money he said there were four metal rods. It was open for less than twenty seconds. After the guy went onto another boat they became sick with in an hour after opening one of the cases"
"copy that i'll inform NAVCOM"
"Yes sir" They all waited up on the boat deck to find out what was going to happen.
Mike contact them all and told them to return and they are going to tow the boat where they are going to meet up with HMAS NewCastle who going to take care of the boat and bodies since there an american team who deals with comtamaded bodies and things would be taking care of every thing since the prime minister ask for allies help after getting word about possible nuclear threat on Australia soil.
Plus the boarding team would have to be on Newcastle for decamanation since the whole boat was showing positive for radiation. They all had to take off everything before they all had contaminated showers on the boat deak, lucky they were behind tarpaulin screens for privacy.
When finished they all were all dry down and given overalls to wear then they were all checked over for any radiation. They all came up clear so they returned back to Hammersley where they all got dressed then returned back to Cairns.
That night Jim and MacGyver talk about what happened on the boat and worried because of what happened that she might not be able to have kids.
"June think positive, ok"
"I will Jim with everything that has happened to us in the past four years. I would love to see that pot of gold"
"Pot of gold"
"Yeah like at the end of the rainbow there a pot of gold, a rewards so to speak, but instead of gold for me it would be having a baby" she look down at him she was lying on his cheat
"I agree with you there June, but it takes two to make a baby" he said smiling making her giggle
"The best part about making a baby is making love to you" he said.
She leaned down and kissed him "I love that part to Jim, so why don't we make love"
He flipped them both till he on top "I love that idea" then he kissed her which became passionate and they made passionate love till early hours in the morning.
The next morning on Hammersley MacGyver smiled when she saw Jim walk on to the ship but not so happy to see Madeline Cruise there. "This is a surprise Jim"
"where the captain" Madeline cruise asked
"In the ship office"
"Get all senior sailors and the lieutenant and meet us there" she turned and walked towards the hatch
"someone had sour grapes for breakfast, what up with her" they walk towards the hatch
"It about the FFV men that died yesterday"
"Thought so, well I better get miss high and mighty what she wants, see you in the ship office"
"Ok" then they went separate directions.
She saw the others and gave them the heads up then joined them when she saw swain in the ward room. When they all met in the ship office. Madeline told them how the men died and what they were exposed to. After listening to what Madeline said they walked out of the ship office and went different directions.
When it was time Hammersley left port with both Madeline and Jim on board. They headed north to check all ships in their search zone. The crew noticed she was getting text messages which she was replying back to.
"June what are you thinking" Jim asked
"How the hell did she know what sort of radiation that the men died of when the feds and ones who knows about what happen keeping it quiet especially from ICSO"
"that is a good question, she received the results last night"
"That is impossible, I spoke to one of the scientists who on Newcastle yesterday, they said it takes forty eight hours to know what sort of radiation that kills those men, not twenty four. Whoever sent it to her must have known that others who were in contact with the cases also died the same way. And I think she knew that the cases was on that boat"
"that is a good point"
"sir i got a contact on radar, it stacerney"
"what sort of boat is it X"
"FFV, and what's interesting is that it is only two miles from the FFV we found yesterday" MacGyver walked over to the radar.
"X bring up the map of the area" Kate brought it up on the screen
"Ok enlarge it" Kate did that
"Sir the rondevu point must be in this area here" she cicle the inland area.
"Question is where" Kate said.
"RO can you get a satellite image of the area," Mike asked just as Madeline walked back on the bridge. RO walk over to where Kate is
"I'll get onto it now sir" then he walked down the steps.
"What going on"
"There's a FFV not far from here we're going to check it out. MacGyver can you bring it up on the EOD"
"Yes sir" Jim watched her bring it up.
"Sir there active on board"
"Ok how many men on board"
"Five that I've seen so far"
"We should ignore that boat, we are looking for cerium" MacGyver turned to Madeline wondering why she wanted Mike to ignore the boat. She turned to Jim raising her eyebrows at him then turn to the screen
"Ms Cruise we are checking all ships, X pipe boarding station"
"Yes sir" MacGyver turn to Jim
"Be Careful"
"I will" she walks to the steps and down them while Kate pipes the order then she goes down stairs herself.
"X she know what on that boat" MacGyver said
"it just an FFV"
"I didn't want to say it but the men on board didn't look like fishermen to me, especially their clothes, and faces. They all look australian, i advise double plate X"
"good idea" When they went to gear up
"double plate every one" Kate said
"It standard FFV X" charge said
"when Australians on board, think again charge and remember what Ms Cruise said on the bridge"
"she wanted us to ignore the boat" Swain said
"that right and why that boat out of the five boats we boarded so far today" MacGyver said
"the bomb" dutchy said
"We hope so, let's go" Kate said.
Mike and the others watched and heard the boarding team taking fire from the FFV till they boarded the boat and took the men down. They check the boat out "MacGyver look what i found" Dutchy said. She walked down the steps and over to where Dutchy is.
"Now we know that Madeline cruise doesn't want us to search this boat."
"Yeah at least we stop the the bomb being made"
"it still can be done with four cases and twenty kilos of semtex still can destroy parts of this country Dutchy"
"Your right"
"Charge eight two, sir we found what the man is protecting, it twenty kilos of semtex and Ms Cruise i know you're listening… put semtex and the cerium together as the ingredients for a dirty bomb. And Captain sir you can ask her why she wanted you to ignore this boat and she bloody good reason sir" she said over the radio.
"She going to be pissed when we stuff up her plan"
"We will once we found the four cases"
Mike turned to Madeline when everyone heard what MacGyver said. "MacGyver raised a very good question Ms Cruise, why you wanted me to ignore this boat"
"It's a FFV"
"So was the other boat we came across yesterday and today. the one with the four men that died from radiation burns. I'm sure fleet command would like to know also"
"I don't have to answer to that commander" she turned and walked off the bridge.
"Sir i think you hit a nerve" bird said
"Yeah i did bird"
when they returned back to hammersley they waited for an hour when another patrol boat took over taking the men and the FFV back to Cairns. When MacGyver walked up onto the bridge Madeline was there. MacGyver could tell she wasn't happy.
"RO can you get what ever darter of this GPS tracker"
"where did you get this?" Ms Cruise asked as she tried to take it out of MacGyver's hand.
"MacGyver" she turn to Mike and pass it to him
"It is from the FFV. it might help tell us where they been before stopping. I got it off the FFV"
"Give that to me and i'll get it check out" Madeline said
"Why wait when we can get it now… sir with your permission"
"I agree with MacGyver, RO go and get what you can from it" he passes it to RO who walks down stairs with it in hand. Madeline walk down the steps
"If you try to take that device off RO Ms Cruise you will have a lot to answer for" MacGyver said. She turned and looked at MacGyver before she walked out the door.
"Bird follow Ms Cruise and find out if she calling or texting someone" mike asked
"Yes sir" then she walked down stairs.
"She up to something I'm not sure what it is yet but she is trying to steer us away from that FFV and now the GPS tracker. She must know we are closing the net on her and her armoy is cracking" MacGyver said. Bird return to the bridge couple minutes later
"Bird"
"she went to the back on the boat, she made a phone call and sent and received three text messages"
"sounds like she warning the others or she got back up plan just incase the first one failed" Jim said
"I agree, Jim" Mike said.
"Sir" RO walked up the steps with laptop in hand "I got everything off the GPS and you will find this very interesting" he brought up the map and the yellow line for where the boat had been.
"RO can you get closer to this area here" Mike asked. RO brought the map closer MacGyver look at it
"RO bring up the satellite image"
"sure" he brought it up "bingo there sir, a duck hutt up the river miles from nowhere great place to meet up for drop off and pick up point and there no one around at this time of year" MacGyver said
"ok lets go and check it out," Mike said. They headed north till they reached the area.
Mike sent both HRIBS up the river. Jim went with them to help out. When they found the shed they all checked the area out first the Dutchy, MacGyver, Kate and Jim were at the door. Dutchy kicked it open then Jim and MacGyver quickly stepped into the doorway when they saw a man alive but covered in radiation burns. He pointed a gun at them then to himself. MacGyver stepped forward and kicked it out of his hand just as he went to turn it onto himself.
"Let me die"
"where are they" MacGyver asked
"Who"
"the cases, the four lead cases, where are they"
"Gone they where pick up this morning"
"Who pick them up" Jim asked
"Two men, they came in one boat"
"Semtex where is it"
"no semtext just the cases"
"Who is behind this, give us a name" MacGyver said
"it's no good, untouchable and dangerst"
"Who, give us the person's name who was behind this"
"an agent, she got away with so much, there is nothing you can do"
"Names who is it" he looked up at Jim and MacGyver
"spook who she goes by"
"Madeline Cruise" jim said
"yes, she is untouchable" then he pulled out a knife and stabbed himself in the heart. He looked at them both
"You're too late, bomb gone" then he closed his eyes and died. MacGyver turns the camera off.
"Now we know she is behind it" Kate said
"what did he mean we to late bomb gone" dutchy said
"who knows" jim said
"He gave us a clue and we got to work it out," MacGyver said.
"Hey look at this" Jim said when he saw papers and a map. He showed MacGyver the papers while he looked at a map of Sydney.
"X look at this, times of tide, wind directions, and with the map. Sydney the target or one of the targets"
"i'll inform Mike about this"
