The scene that he and Ichigo came upon when they reached the place where she had lived- could only be described as a terrorist attack. He had no true words to describe the utter devastation aside from those.

As mentioned in the previous phone call, what was left of Ichigo's home was enveloped in a blaze of white-hot flames that had somehow spread halfway down the street to some apartment buildings, shops, and even a couple of cafes. Completely wiping them out too.

It was terrible.

And though she didn't show any visible signs of distress or upset over seeing everything. He still couldn't help but worry that maybe she'd gone into shock. Shrugging off his light jacket, he draped it over her shoulders and then pulled her into a hug.

"I've got you, dearest. We'll figure everything out. I promise." He said gently, yet fiercely. As he slowly released her and began to scan the area for any possible suspects that may stand out from every other horrified person present.

He managed to spot Byakuya Kuchiki and some other people standing across from the two of them, watching the blaze with wide eyes. And as much as he was truly beginning to hate the man, his expression told him that he wasn't the one whom had destroyed Ichigo's home.

Finally, after what seemed like forever Ichigo moved. It was more of a weird full body twitch that caught his attention. But at least it was movement of some kind. And it was followed by a sigh as she took a step forward, obviously intending to walk over to the man and question him.

He let her go and followed closely behind her as she wove her way through the police, paramedics, and the fire fighters before finally coming to a stop in front of the man.

Up until that moment, Kuchiki hadn't seemed to even realize that she was even present. His expression was both startled and just a bit wary.

Kurama wasn't sure what he was expecting once she was in front of him. For her to start shouting? Possibly even screaming and crying? Whatever he was expecting, Ichigo shocked him by simply saying in an eerily calm tone that sent a chill skittering down his spine.

"Who did this?"

Byakuya didn't even speak, he simply pointed. Both he and Ichigo turned their heads to look where the man had pointed and found two men sitting hog tied on the pavement several feet away.

Ichigo thinned her lips in displeasure and started to walk over to the two when Byakuya said, "Don't kill them. There are witnesses present."

Kurama shot the man an alarmed look at that comment but quickly moved to catch up to his fiancée as she reached the men, and then squatted down to get a better look at them.

He paused just a small step away from her, making sure that she was well within his reach as he heard her say, "Dad," Kurama's eyes nearly popped right out of his head when he heard her. He wasn't really sure how to feel here, much less think. He'd never imagines that his soon to be father-in-law would practically be a criminal! "Kisuke. What the hell were the two of you doing?"

"Ichigo! It's good to see ya!" One of them- a scruffy looking ash blond man said happily.

The other, a brunette with a neatly trimmed beard merely grinned and chirped an excited. "Baby girl!"

Ichigo seemed to dislike how happy the two looked right then. So, she reached out and viciously slammed both of their heads together. The two men yelped loudly and fell over for a second while Kurama winced a bit in sympathy since that looked like it had really hurt.

But he didn't stop her since he knew that she was very, very displeased with the loss of her home. Especially since her father was involved.

Reaching out, she grabbed the two men by the fronts of their shirts and hauled them up so that she could punch them. Kurama heard the sickening crack of her small hand meeting the flesh of their faces and cringed a bit.

But at least he was starting to understand what Kuchiki had meant when he'd told him that she was a fighter. Most women didn't usually know how to punch someone without breaking their hands. But from the looks of it, Ichigo knew exactly what she was doing.

She had hit the two hard enough to break their noses and was now gripping their broken appendages between her fingers and chewing them out royally.

"I can't believe that the two of you idiots would do this! To me of all people! Are you crazy? Do you have some sort of death wish? Is that it? Huh? You want me to kill you both! Cause I can!"

"We just wanted to help you move out!" The blond cried as he tried to escape from her hold.

"We're sorry, Ichigo!"

"You aren't half as sorry as you think you are, you jerks! I just got engaged, dammit! I should be enjoying a day of spending time with my fiancé! You ruined our time together with this nonsense!" She screamed as she shook them both hard enough to rattle their brains while Kurama shot her a bemused look. Wondering if their spending time together today was really something to be so upset over.

On one hand, he felt flattered. But on the other he was utterly horrified by what was happening. Finally, after a few more minutes of screaming at the two men and shaking them, she abruptly dropped them and snarled out that she was going to call someone named, Yoruichi to come and pick them up.

Apparently, she was going to leave their punishment in that person's hands. Which led to a lot of crying and begging from the two men for her to forgive them as she turned and upon seeing him standing there.

She flushed and looked down, not wanting to meet his eyes. Probably because this whole day had been a rollercoaster of terrible things. Aside from buying the rings, that is.

Deciding that he would have to take the initiative here, he held a hand out to her and said coaxingly, "Come here dearest."

It took her a moment to take hold of his hand, but he was patient and refused to budge. But he couldn't help but smile once she did. But she still wasn't looking up. And this bothered him immensely.

He made sure that he wrapped his fingers around hers firmly yet gently as he tugged her forward so that he could lower his head so that his mouth was next to her ear and say in a low tone, "It's alright. This isn't a deal breaker for me."

"It should be." She said after a heartbeat or two.

"It isn't though."

"They make me miserable sometimes." She said as she let her forehead rest on his shoulder. He reached up and brushed her hair away from her face so that he could tip her head back and look at her, only to realize that she was crying quietly.

Humming in understanding. After all, it wasn't every day that one found out that they were marrying someone who was literally surrounded by crazy people. He simply wrapped his arms around her and held her while he shot her father and his blond friend a peeved look.

"We still haven't figured out where you should stay now that your home is gone." He said after several minutes of calculated silence. He didn't need her any more upset than she already was. But it was simply something that needed to be taken care of.

"I can sleep in the street." She muttered.

"Absolutely not. You can stay with me." He suggested since he didn't like her idea very much.

The streets were no place for a beautiful woman like her. She could get hurt or even die. Besides, he could smell rain on the wind. A sure sign that it would either rain later in the evening or storm. And he didn't want her caught up in that if he could help it.

"I don't want to impose." She said simply.

"You wouldn't be." He said gently and then explained. "I have a guest room, so if you want, you can use it. Besides, what sort of man would I be if I let my betrothed sleep on the streets?"

"A terrible one, I guess..." She said with a frown. He nodded his head knowing that he'd all but convinced her to stay with him as she sighed and lifted a hand to rub at her forehead for a moment before then saying. "I'll need to go by a store and get some spare clothing and stuff."

"We can go and do that now. And then once you get comfortable at my home, you can lay down and rest for a little bit. I'll take care of anything else that needs to be done. Including dinner."

"Alright." she said hesitantly. Still reluctant to stay with him for some reason. "We'll...do that."

He practically beamed at her as he started to usher her away from the scene knowing that the longer that she stayed there, the more upset she would become. Plus, he didn't wish to give Kuchiki a chance to whisk her away from him by offering her his own home for her to stay in.
