This did not look good at all. No, Mayor Davis being captured by her own former secretary, Vic Palmero, who wants to become mayor and staged a coup d'etat against his former secretary. On the upside, it wasn't a very bloody one since most coup d'etats happen in a violent matter. Although this was violent since the mayor is now bound to rope and her mouth clamped shut by duct tape.
Leni and the other heroes were forced to walk with Vic inside the majors' place, and Brad McGee, who was walking with Vic.
"So you want to become mayor?" Asked Lincoln.
"That's right, Lincoln." said Vic. "I think this town needs a more competent and willing mayor. Davis is too soft to be leader of this naive town."
"She's a great leader, you piece of poop!" Leni said
"I suggest you watch your mouth, Leni." Vic's smile went away as he glared back at Leni. "You are addressing the new mayor after all."
"And someone who pays me big bucks next to McGee here." said Sid. "And personally, I can't wait to blast you into bits until not even your bones remain."
"What exactly do you even want from us you turd-bag?" said Frankie
"Yeah and I would like to get this over with." said Donnie. "You're outnumbered, four of us and three of you."
Brad McGee made a smug look on his face. "Is that so?" He snapped his right fingers and a large group of armored men in black armor with assault rifles coming from all corridors, ready to gun down the heroes in case they try anything funny against the three villains.
Vic smiled and said: "looks like you guys are the ones outnumbered this time." Yes, there were about around twenty or thirty of these guys in Vic's private security force.
It looked like hope was lost for the four this time. Or was it? At last, they stopped at the main officer where Davis was usually in her work.
"So as what I want," said Vic, "I said I want control over Royal Woods and revenge on Leni for ruining and tarnishing my reputation in the office." He gave the plant girl a cold and hateful look. "You're the reason Davis fired me in the first place."
"Hey you're the one who played dirty in the campaign against her." Lincoln defended her."
"Shut up!" Vic said before Sid open fired near Lincoln's leg, making him jump in surprise so the bullets wouldn't hit his foot. "I wouldn't talk back to me if I were you."
"You can't try to shoot my brother like that!" Leni defended him. The hired soldiers readied and cocked their guns, ready to open fire on the heroes.
"No no, stay your guns, boys." said Vic calmly. The men did just that and lowered their weapons. "Now I can give you all a choice and have an Opportunity to work for me as my new employees, and with Brad McGee by my side, we can work together to make Royal Woods a better place."
"You mean turn it into a brutal dictatorship?" said Donnie. "And use us to do your dirty work?"
"Not a dictatorship. To make it a better city." Vic said. "Work together to purge this city of weak people and corruption."
"Please." said Frankie. "I may not know much about politicians as much as I hate them, but I know one should never trust people like you."
"Ah, but I am not a corrupt man." Vic said.
"I know there are people that are corrupt and don't loon evil, but we are not corrupt at all, and we want to purge Royal Woods of all that wickedness."
"Well you are just as wicked as those kind of people." said Leni. "It's hippopotamus!"
The heroes facepalmed. "It's pronounced hypocritical, Leni." Lincoln pointed.
"Oh. Right." Then she looked at Vic again. "Look, I will never join you! I would rather be killed than serve an evil man like you."
Vic frowned and said. "Evil? I am not evil."
"Many villains in fiction say that." Lincoln pointed. "And they do evil things."
"Look, you can work for me, or you all can die with bullets in your heads." Vic said with his arms crossed. "It's your choice." The men readied their guns again. "You all have three seconds to comply with me here."
It was silent as if time had stopped. Sweat was running down Leni's face, and wondered if it was the end of her short life.
"One," Vic started counting.
Little did they know that Davis managed to hit a red security button the size of the palm of someone's hand, and she had to use her face to push it, for she was still bound and gagged.
"Two." Vic continued.
Before he could say one however, a bunch of armored men barged through the windows and pointed their guns at McGee's security force.
An all-out fight broke out and Brad hid under one of the desks so he wouldn't get hurt. Turns out they are some of Davis' most trusted people in the SWAT team coming to the aid of the heroes.
Two of them already untied the mayor free. "Thank y'all so much." said Davis.
"How did this happen?" asked Vic in disbelief.
"Step one of being a mayor, Vic." said she, "always have a backup plan. That's what you said, right?"
"Right..." Six Gun Sid used his mini gun to fire on his enemies, and protect his clients.
Luckily, Sid was too occupied with taking down many soldiers who were firing on him with a barrage of bullets. He didn't even see Leni give him an uppercut in the face, and knocking him into the mayor's chair.
Donnie used his ice powers to freeze the goons while Donnie knocked out his opponents with his water waves from his two hands.
