"Gibbs?" Abby asked, a distinct sadness in her vocie.

Putting a finger to her lips, he leaned in and placed a soft kiss on her cheek.

Walking slowly over to Ziva, he stopped in front of her and looked into her eyes.

"I owe ya one," he smiled.

"I'll collect," she replied, trying not to show emotion.

Walking towards the elevator, he put an arm over Dr. Mallard's shoulder and said, "give em a ride home, Duck," and continued on his way.

With an old leather duffel slung over one shoulder and a grin on his face, he wlaked towards his old boss' babin, highly intent on doing some fishing.

"Congratulations, Agent Dinozzo, you just made Senior Field Agent," Director Shepard announced as the elevator doors closed.

"Thank you, Director," Ton replied, though he was cheering on the inside. But he knew what this meant.

Gibbs wasn't coming back. Ever.

He looked at his team members one by one. First McGee, then Ziva, and finally Abby, who was sobbing silently.

"Oh, Abbs," he said, walking over to her, "don't cry...he'll be back, I'm sure of it," but he didn't believe it himself.

"You really think so, Tony?" said Abby, sniffling, "you really think he's coming back? Cause...cause..he doesn't just...just shuch me a-a-and kiss me a-and shop up the next morning. He..he leaves...for days."

He didn't know what to say, Abby could predict Gibbs' actions better than any of them, even Ducky.

"Sure Abbs, sure. He'll be back."

McGee stared at the floor, "Well, Tony, I guess that makes you the boss."

"Yeah pro-, I mean, Timmy, I guess it does."

"So Tony. Does this mean you're going to continue being a jork to me - "

"Jerk, Ziva, the term is 'jerk'."

"- or will you finally offer me some respect?"

"I- uh. You will have my respect, Ziva. You too, Timmy."

He threw an arm around Abby, "and I will be sure to continue bringing you Caf-Pows."

"Guys," Tony grinned, "there's going to be some changed around here."

"Oh, are thre?" Director Shepard grinned to herself, standing outside MTAC.
