I have a question for you guys. If you were to be elected to the office of President of United States, what book would you swear in on?
Me. I would swear on a stack of hentai and/or the first volume of Berserk. Because anime thighs and muscular men swinging giant swords while killing demons is my religion.
Anyway! I have some news for you guys. I'm doing two chapters a week as I'm able now. My two primary stories will be worked on and updated at the same time. With how irregular my school schedule is going to be, I can't afford to get them out separately anymore.
As for this chapter, I only have a warning for language. One of the characters uses the hard R, so beware that's in there. (None of the characters we like. Only the confirmed racists of the RWBY series.) There will be a lot worse shit coming as we go along, since Jaune and his merry band of bois lookin' for a scrap will be meeting some very unsavory individuals.
For now, I am going to be slowly exploring the mess that is the Schnee family.
Also, thanks for 800 followers!
"Hey, Snow Angel," Jaune said, lifting his hands from the keyboard. He rose and turned to face her properly, adjusting the uniform he donned. The black long-coat, hanging loosely off his body and stopping just above his knees. A pair of black jackboots shone beneath.
As Jaune stepped away from the organ, another figure appeared to take his place. The apparition's body rising from inside the floor, peeling away from the golden marble. This undead creature bore the uniform of the Waffen SS. He clearly resembled a freshly gone corpse that lay in state. His face was deathly pale, and yet, he continued to walk around as if he were the opposite.
Once the man rose from his tomb, he took on the role of conductor for this show. He played with the same skill and emotion that Jaune had, but his tone did not remind Weiss of the previous display. It was a tune that was dark in nature—one of death and destruction. The choir following along with this, in their sickening spectacle of a hymn.
The bells of this cathedral began ringing incessantly, shaking the structure to its core. It played alongside the tempo excellently, not missing a single note where it was meant to. The bells serving only to darken the atmosphere, turning this from a bad dream to a fully-fledged nightmare.
"From Heaven, the Angel hath descendeth.
O, what wondrous sound the trumpet flingeth,
Through this sepulchre, it ringeth,
Calling the dead from blissful slumber.
All blest creation is waking,
Kneeling before the golden throne of our lord.
To bringeth them before his seat,
Judging those wretched souls for deeds unavenged..."
Jaune spoke openly, not addressing anybody, in particular. As if he were giving a sermon only to himself. His speech dripping with charisma unfamiliar to Weiss, such that, it made him appear alien to the girl. Not the bumbling boy that had chased her heart for so long.
The long-coat he bore, flapped openly with a phantom gust that ripped through this room. He did not seem fazed by the cold that forced Weiss to shield herself. Her skin burning, yet, he marched onwards with a smile stretched across his lips. That noble gaze of his focused solely on the girl huddling by the door to this cathedral.
As he passed the first row of pews, more spectres began to appear. Nazis, Imperial French and German soldiers, American, British, and Soviet forces from both world wars. Those were the most numerous of the legion which resided in this castle. Many of the others were unrecognisable to Weiss. She could make out the Roman Legionaries, and Ottoman Janniseries, but the Spartans were the last group Weiss could put a name to.
These were soldiers from every period of human civilisation. Almost everyone belonged to some European army that had long since disbanded or died out. However, despite the centuries of death, they were still gathered in the light of the golden cathedral. Whether to pray to their gods or to pay witness to the lord's performance.
Every soldier in this hall snapped to attention as Jaune walked by them, offering the salute their army demanded of them. The clack of their boot heels to the marble filled the halls, concealing the music as hundreds moved simultaneously.
Jaune did not acknowledge their presence regardless of the salute. His devotion was paid to the angel standing silently by her lonesome. The unflinching gaze he held onto her figure made the girl want to panic, but she could not move a single inch to escape his sight.
Weiss wanted to shout at him, ordering him to halt and not come any closer, but she could not manage it. Every word came out as a hoarse whimper, barely exiting her throat. The chattering of her teeth made a much more significant impact than her most powerful shout.
She was forced to watch Jaune's agonising approach from the other end of the room. The sound of his boots clicking against the floor, rising above the chorus of the orchestra. Every step making Weiss' anxiety grow further. Her knees growing weak from the surge of emotions.
What was someone supposed to do when faced with a man of this calibre? Jaune was the definition of perfect. His aura commanded the attention of the masses without a word. His appearance was moulded from the hands of angels, conspiring to create a being that surpassed all. Even his followers pursued the golden light with ravenous devotion, pressing ever onward for his glory without a thought of their own.
Before she knew it, Jaune was standing before her. He looked down on Weiss without a word for several moments, inspecting the girl. His expression no longer held that same predatory smile it once possessed. There were no emotions to be found in the boy's eyes. It was more resemblant of the Jaune Weiss had seen in the cafeteria. The one that had run away from her after locking eyes with the girl.
"What are you doing here, Weiss," Jaune inquired softly as if he were speaking through her. He ran a hand through his hair, letting out a loud sigh, breaking the mask he donned for only a second to reveal the pain underneath.
His tone made Weiss realise the boy didn't know she was actually standing before him. He believed her to be an illusion created by his subconscious or something along those lines. That whatever this castle was, forged a facsimile belonging in Jaune's world. His desire muddled by her appearance in a place she did not belong.
He brought his right hand up to her chin, turning her face to his. Weiss flinched at the touch, reflexing at the thought of being slapped. The words she'd used against him warranting such an impromptu strike from the boy or anyone else in his position.
"Why am I indulging myself like this," Jaune asked himself, letting her chin go. His arm fell to his side, dangling there lifelessly. "She wants nothing to do with me..." Slowly, he began laughing maniacally, covering the right half of his face with a hand.
Weiss' heart dropped as she saw the tears start flowing from the exposed eye. Jaune, however, found this entertaining. Something about the irony of his situation that made his emotions conflict. Truthfully, it startled the girl more than she had anticipated.
But to see him crying openly in front of her like this made Weiss want to wrap the boy up in a hug. She wanted to scream that she was sorry about everything. That same desire Weiss held before Jaune turned into this thing. Back when he was the group's blonde noodle and not this eldritch entity.
'Jaune...'
Suddenly, he stopped laughing, standing up straight and adjusting his uniform once more. Without a word, he turned away, walking right past her and opened the doors to leave. Before she could turn around, a snap from his fingers caused the floor beneath her to start glowing.
"Get out of here, Weiss, you don't belong in my weltall..."
The doors behind her shut with a loud bang. The moment they closed, the eery glow at her feet began emitting a light that surrounded her whole figure.
[Weiss: Schnee Manor]
"Ms Schnee," someone called out.
Weiss awoke with a shout, sitting up straight in her bed. She breathed deeply, trying to catch her breath and adjust to the sudden change in location. The girl's eyes were met with darkness, which didn't help keep her from hyperventilating.
"Ms Schnee, it's okay," the person said. Weiss could see him reach over to her lamp, pulling on the chain. The light flicked on, momentarily blinding her, but Weiss could make out half of his face. "You were having a nightmare."
Klein and one of the other staff members were standing next to her bed. The older man was kneeling, making sure he was on Weiss' level as to not frighten the girl. Each bore a concerned expression having seen her probably tossing and turning due to her nightmare. Whatever else happened was a mystery to Weiss, but it was enough to worry them.
Weiss adjusted her posture, planting each of her hands on either side of self to assist in holding her up. However, as she touched the bed, Weiss realised that the sheets were soaked in her sweat. In fact, most of her body was dripping sweat like she'd been outside in the hot sun all day long. Her clothes were heavy and uncomfortable against her skin. Weiss thought if there was more light, then someone could probably see through her nightgown.
"Are you okay," the other staff member asked. A phone was in her hands in case she needed to call for help.
"I'm fine, thank you," Weiss replied politely. She nodded her head at the same time. Though, it would be difficult to discern it from how much she was shaking. "It was a vivid nightmare."
More like real.
Weiss knew she ended up somewhere else. How she did so couldn't be known to her. There was a hundred-thousand possibilities for the phenomena that just took place, and Weiss refused to give ninety per cent of them any recognition. Almost every single one ridiculous in nature and assuming things that indeed weren't true.
Ruby would probably suggest she got sucked into an interdimensional portal and ended up in that castle. Weiss would like to think something so stupid was wrong, but then, what did she know? A portal was one of the more grounded theories.
It was clearly a physical manifestation because Jaune actually touched her. Something terrifying in and of itself. Weiss could hardly face him in the real world, but in her dream, he did not hesitate to bridge the gap. It was too much for her at once to deal with. Had he kept his distance and spoken to her, Weiss might not have been so horrified.
Maybe it was just a dream?
Weiss had her fair share of nightmares before. Anybody else may have had a different flavour, but they were all the same. Her mind was playing tricks on her, making the girl feel her surroundings in a way that simulated real life. The fact Jaune actually dared to touch her was evidence to support that theory. He was far too bashful to attempt something like that.
"I'm sure it was," the staff member said with a smile. "We could hear you from the hallway and came to check on you. You gave us quite the scare..."
Oh no...
"I'm sorry," Weiss expressed meekly. "Was it really that loud?"
Klein and the staff member looked at each other simultaneously. The two were clearly trying to figure out who was going to say what first. Weiss felt the sense of dread creep up along her spine. Knowing something embarrassing was being kept from her was worse than actually knowing about it.
"It sounded like you were fighting someone," Klein explained, choosing his words carefully. "We were afraid there was a break in and... You know the rest."
Weiss' cheeks flushed, heating to an extraordinary degree. She was happy the two couldn't see, or it would be so much more uncomfortable for her. The girl didn't want to think of what she could have said in her unconscious state.
"UNHAND ME," someone shouted from outside Weiss' room, diverting their attention. The voice was slurred, muddling his words beyond comprehension. From the ruckus they made, it was clear he was putting on a fight, throwing things around and shouting incoherently.
A vase shattered against the wall of Weiss' room, causing the girl to jump out of fear. Her nerves were already worn thin by the nightmare. Even a falling object would make Weiss leap out of her skin right now. Klein and his fellow staff member had to step to her side just to keep her from freaking out.
"Ms Schnee, it's your father," Klein said sternly. His lips formed a frown and his brow furled in disappointment. "He's drunk again, I'm afraid."
Drunk...
That word brought forth a deluge of memories. In fact, one could not count the number of instances Weiss had stored in her mind. The eternal cycle she could remember as far back as her eleventh birthday—a repetition taken place nearly once every few days.
"You drink your weight in wine all day, woman," Jaques shouted at the top of his lungs. "How dare you speak that way to me?! What gives you the right to criticise me after everything I have built?!"
"I married you, first of all," Willow spat back, equally venomous. She leaned back in her chair, pointing at the man opposite of her with a glass of wine in hand. "Though, I suppose, that was the cause for myself growing so miserable. Drinking just helps to... ignore you. You pitiful little man."
The sound of broken glass clattering against the floor came to mind first. Then, the shouting and ceaseless arguments at nearly every dinner table. Words would be said, then the fight grew worse as some new boundary was crossed. At that moment, Weiss' cue to leave would come up, so she could escape the situation.
Another crash outside her room brought Weiss back to reality. There were about five people outside trying to reel Jaques in and force his outburst to stop. How it was going became quite apparent. If the sounds of someone getting thrown off him weren't the clue she was looking for.
"Those animals keep trying to steal from me," Jaques screamed, falling against the wall outside. "Give them the wage they deserve, and they keep asking for more!" He let out a booming yell, throwing another staff member into a table. "THIEVES, THE LOT OF THEM! WORSE THAN NIGGERS! EVERY ONE OF THEM CAN HANG!"
The staff member sitting next to Weiss let out a gasp hearing that through the wall. Klein seemed to growl deep within his throat, kneading his brow angrily. Although the word disappointedly would be more apt to describe Klein's actions. Without a word, he turned slightly, gesturing for his coworker to leave. She followed his order immediately and quickly disappeared into the halls.
"I'm sorry you had to hear that, Ms Schnee," Klein expressed, suppressing the rage clearly building up below his kind exterior. "Please, get yourself cleaned up, and I will have fresh bedding set for you."
"O-Okay," Weiss replied meekly, fresh tears flowing down her cheeks.
Klein did not say anymore, leaving her side. The composed man walked towards the door with his hands clasped behind his back. Only his shoes filled the air with a soft click against the marble floors.
[Ruby]
"This looks like the place," Ruby said to herself, holding up a map on her Scroll.
She was standing on the other side of a wrought iron fence encircling a manor. The massive complex was larger than probably any house Ruby had ever been in. It made the White House look like an ordinary home. Heck, the greenhouse in the back was bigger than her house.
The entire thing was a baroque-esque construction modelled after the Palace of Versailles and some Roman monument. Ruby didn't know enough about architecture to describe it fittingly, but the art classes she'd taken gave her something to approximate it. However, it was a very dull-looking place. The outer walls were bleached white with no discernable decorations aside from the columns on every side of the structure.
"Weiss was right about how it looked," she said to herself. "Very confusing..."
There was the driveway up front that bordered a colossal statue of a snowflake. Then a large building that looked like a Roman palace. Connected to that was a massive rectangular structure that looked like the main body of the manor. Its long halls were clearly visible from where she stood and were lined with hundreds of arched windows.
It was an ugly mess. Ruby chastised herself for thinking that way, but she couldn't tear the thought from her mind. Though Weiss had already mentioned her displeasure with how the building appeared, so Ruby felt less bad about it. She wasn't lying or understating its dreadful appearance, however.
Maybe it was just a rich person thing? Or whoever built this had horrible tastes?
Okay... How do I get inside?
Ruby hopped onto her bike and pushed it the additional twenty feet necessary to get to the front gate. Once there, she looked around for some sort of buzzer or phone needed to gain entry. But, nothing was out here—just some fancy iron gate with a bunch of expensive-looking silver leaf.
"This is what I get for not texting Weiss about this stuff!"
They were supposed to hang out at Ruby's house today, but Weiss cancelled this morning, saying she couldn't go there. Ruby suggested going to her place, which became the plan. Only Weiss sent the address without any further instructions, leading Ruby into this predicament.
It's probably just unlocked, and I'm standing here like an idiot.
Ruby pushed on the gate, and it lurched forward, swinging open wide enough to allow a vehicle to pass. This was met by the embarrassed sigh of the ravenette, who punched herself in the head internally. Hopping off her bike, she walked it through and watched as the gate shut by itself, leading to the girl just accepting her stupidity.
Great security system... Just make the burglars think the gate's locked when there's absolutely nothing there. Reverse psychology them.
Making the long walk up to the front door, Ruby eyed the many vehicles parked out front. Over a dozen, in fact. Almost all of them were expensive Mercedes or Bentleys that Ruby was overly prepared to gush over all day long. Had there been other plans for today, that is what would have taken place. Especially, if Ruby had permission to open up the engines and poke around at their guts.
Oh my gosh! They have a Maybach S 650! Uggghhh! It has to be custom! I know it! They probably have some cool V12 in there!
Keep it together, Ruby...
Jerking her head away from the vehicles, Ruby focused on the front door to the manor. Though her eyes were wantonly darting from place to place, sneaking a peek at the other cars. They were just too beautiful to resist.
Be strong, Ruby... You can do it!
Thankfully, she reached the main entrance to the Schnee manor without drooling over more of Weiss' cars. Without a place to lock up her bike, Ruby just set it behind some columns to hide it from view. Weiss probably wouldn't mind. Probably.
The massive set of doors were constructed from black oak and were carved with intricate designs, giving the impression of prestige and wealth. Ruby expected there to be a giant set of door knockers that someone would use to alert those inside, but there was just a doorbell.
*Ding*Dong*
The pleasant chime rang out before Ruby returned to the front of the door. It seemed like an eternity, but finally, she could hear someone moving on the other side. The massive panel swung open slowly, revealing a shorter, stout man. His kind expression gave Ruby this sense of warmth the manor did not provide.
"You must be Ms Rose," the man said politely. He opened the rest of the door, permitting her entry. It also unveiled the bandages along the knuckles of his right hand. "Please, come in. Weiss has been expecting you."
"Uh, thanks," Ruby replied, unsure of how to respond. She quickly ducked inside and began looking around, gawking at the interior in all its bland glory.
It thought it was big on the outside.
That it did. The Schnee manor exterior did not leave much of an impression. However, the interior was more grandiose, consisting of the same monochromatic colour scheme. The floors were polished to a level of smoothness such that Ruby could easily see her reflection. She almost wanted to take off her boots so as not to dirty the lovely floors. Someone else had to clean them after all.
There were dozens of staff members darting about, taking care of their duties with little to no mind towards Ruby's presence. Occasionally, one would send her a warm smile and a nod before going back to work. But this place was a beehive of activity regardless.
Standing off to the side was a man who Ruby could have sworn was Weiss' father. His pale complexion and white hair gave that much away. Though, that was probably the only thing the two had in common. Weiss' eyes were much brighter than his, and they shared none of the facial features.
His face was bruised on the left side, appearing to have received a solid punch from someone a few hours ago. The man's nose was also bloodied with two cotton balls jammed inside his nostrils, keeping the blood at bay. Whoever did this, laid Weiss' father out like a blanket.
"This way, Ms Rose," the man beckoned.
Ruby turned in his direction, finding him waiting patiently for her attention. The ravenette uttered a nervous, 'Sorry,' before catching up with the man. He did not seem to mind, gracefully leading Ruby up the grand staircase and onto the second floor.
"How many rooms does this place have," Ruby asked absentmindedly.
Why the heck do you need so many?
"Five-hundred and eighty-two," the man confidently declared. "However, many are either purposed for utility or are staff quarters. Very few are actually used by visitors or the Schnee family. In fact, some rooms haven't been opened in nearly two years. We never have the occasion for their use."
"Then what's the point of having them if you're not going to use them," Ruby inquired purposefully.
"I've asked that same question before when I first began working for the Schnee's," the man mentioned in a cheerful tone. "And... I've never been able to answer that satisfactorily. When Jaques took over the company from Weiss' grandfather, he wished to expand the original manor into something resembling a palace. We suspected he wanted a home which would allow him to flex his muscles, financially. Though, it did away with the homey feeling the previous estate possessed."
That's kind of stupid... He built a house just to show off.
It was, from Ruby's perspective. Frankly, worse, it was a waste of space for something that could be utilised regularly. Like, her house was a modest eight-room structure, and every part of it was lived in. It was a place that felt like a home and not some monument.
The conversation stalled until they turned down another hallway just outside of the foyer. Here, there were a bunch of staff members working to clean up the entire length of the hall. Broken glass littered the floor, man-sized holes were dug into the drywall, and smashed furniture lay all over the place. The lights were not even working or flickered sporadically.
"What happened here?"
"Uhhh," the man murmured hesitantly, likely hoping the question wouldn't come up. "Mr Schnee got drunk and took his anger out on the house." He paused for only a moment before continuing. "Before you come up to any conclusions, he's been under quite a lot of stress lately. Between the destruction of the company's headquarters and many incidents following that, it has taken a toll on his mental health. He ended up hurting himself more than the house once we managed to calm him down."
Jeez... Sounds like he's lying though. Weiss better be okay.
"But, please don't mind any of that," the man continued, stopping outside one of the rooms. "Nobody else was hurt, thankfully." He gestured to the room. "However, this is Weiss' room. And if you need anything, please do not hesitate to ask. Just ask for Klein, and another member of the staff will come to find me."
"Okay, thanks Klein," Ruby expressed with a cheerful smile. Klein returned it though covered by his moustache.
Klein left her alone, disappearing down the hall a few moments later. As he finally exited her line of sight, Ruby turned the doorknob as slowly as possible. Once the latch had retracted completely, she pushed the door open without making a sound.
Where are you, Bestie?
The inside of Weiss' room resembled the drab of the rest of the manor. It was still bigger than her's and Yang's rooms if they were smashed together, but that was beside the point. There was hardly any personality here that could be Weiss' own making.
Scanning the room, led Ruby's eyes to fall on the back of Weiss' head. She was sitting in a chair, looking out onto the still burning Valish skyline. The girl did not hear the door open, utterly oblivious to Ruby's entrance. It seemed she was occupied with her Scroll as well, making this even better.
You dropped your guard, Weiss. Last mistake...
Shutting the door softly, Ruby snuck over to where Weiss sat, not allowing a single click to escape under her foot. Weiss' humming covered her missteps even further, blocking out the tiny breaths coming from Ruby. Then five feet became two feet, and Ruby was right on top of the Schnee. A huntress had caught her prey.
"WHAT'S UP WEISS, DID YOU MISS ME," Ruby shouted at the top of her lungs and leaping into Weiss' personal space.
"WAAGHH," Weiss let out a fearful yelp, nearly falling out of the chair. Her Scroll went sliding across the floor from how hard she threw it.
The flight reaction took over for Weiss, and she jumped out of the chair, trying to make a run from her attacker. However, once she realised that it was Ruby, the girl grabbed at her chest, taking deep breaths to recover from the fright. Ruby just stood there with a shit-eating grin on her face.
"Did you miss me, Bestie," Ruby asked once more, unable to contain her smile.
"It's... been two days, Ruby," Weiss replied through breaths. There was clearly anger building up under her shock. "Why did you that?! And how did you get in here?!"
"You let your guard down," Ruby expressed smugly. "I also maxed out my stealth, Weiss. You'd never see me comin'. And so a huntress has attacked without warning."
Weiss grunted in annoyance, shaking her head. "You're such a dunce," she expressed, crossing her arms. Though, a few moments later, she was eyeing Ruby like she wanted something. "But... did you bring it?"
"Bring what, Weiss?" Ruby smiled deviously, leaning forward with her hands tucked behind her back. The Heiress blushed at the challenge, turning her head away as to not look the other girl in the eye.
"Y-You know," Weiss replied bashfully.
Okay... I'll take pity on you.
Ruby took off her backpack and pulled out several objects. The prize being the Switch neatly tucked into the front-most pocket. Weiss wasted no time grabbing it and flicking the device on. The bag of her mom's cookies was entirely ignored as the girl planted herself on the floor next to her bed.
The ravenette smiled, watching Weiss scroll over to the game she desired. Almost immediately, she became immersed in the story's world, blocking out everything around her. Ruby just sat next to her munching on cookies as they picked up where they left off a week ago.
Unbeknownst to Ruby, a huge RPG nerd was living inside of Weiss. For almost a month, this was something neither was aware of. However, the second time the girls hung out, Ruby introduced Weiss to one of her favourite RPGs and proceeded to lose Weiss for nearly five hours in the game. Now, whenever she came over, that was one of the first things they delved into no matter what.
As Ruby watched Weiss, she noticed something was off. There weren't the right words to describe it in her brain, but it was obvious. Considering what Klein told Ruby about, she had a pretty good idea of what it might be.
"Everything okay, Weiss," Ruby asked carefully.
Her words did drag Weiss out of the game for a moment. The girl looked at her like she was growing a third arm, but swallowed and set the game down on the floor. Ruby immediately started feeling really bad as Weiss brought her knees to her chest and curled up into a ball.
She shook her head lightly, telling Ruby pretty much everything she needed to know. In fact, Weiss was legitimately shaking just thinking about whatever it was.
"S-Sorry," Ruby squeaked out an apology. "If you don't want to talk about it, it's okay!"
"No," Weiss said hoarsely. "I-I do..."
For the next twenty minutes, Weiss went over everything that happened in her dream. The sheer terror she felt upon the confrontation with Jaune. The thousands of soldiers in that cathedral who looked up to him. Every detail was said, nothing spared.
...
"Woah," Ruby expressed, unsure of how to properly exclaim.
It sounded more like a fever dream or something you experience on drugs. Weiss' attention to detail was so peculiar, Ruby had an image of everything she saw. The chills came on intensely a few minutes into her story, forcing Ruby to tuck into her hoodie for warmth. And then everything about Jaune was so weird, but that wasn't really her present concern.
"I know, it's stupid," Weiss expressed despondently. "But it felt so real!"
"It's not, Weiss," Ruby snapped, setting her friend straight. She took a breath to calm herself down. "Your brain is probably just playing tricks on you. We both know how much you've been beating yourself up over Jaune! So, that's why I want you to come to the amusement park with me this weekend!"
"What," Weiss cried out, blushing hard. "I can't go with you guys! The entire point of that is to help him!"
It was, but I have more work than I thought I did.
"Nope," Ruby denied curtly. "I put that together to help my friends. I.E. You too."
"But, I-I can't see him," Weiss complained nervously. "Every time I do, my chest hurts so much, and I can barely breath." She looked away from Ruby. "Why would he want anything to do with me?"
"Then you can hang out with Blake, Yang, and Pyrrha," Ruby offered with confidence. "They said they wanted to come with because of everything that's happened, so you don't even have to see Jaune!"
"Really?"
"Yep, you need to take a break," Ruby chirped, delighting in how she was getting somewhere. "So, pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaasssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!"
"Okay, I will," Weiss shouted, cutting Ruby off and eliciting her laughter.
"See, was it that hard?"
Short chapter, I know, but I didn't really want to put a whole lot in here. If I had the Jaune perspective I planned then it would be another three thousand words, but I decided against that.
However, before any of you keyboard warriors write me some nasty reviews, most racists (Jaques clearly is because of his mistreatment of faunus in the RWBY canon) are not typically ala carte about their hate. Also remember he was drunk, and drunk people tend to say shit out loud. If you ever had Uncle Frank get two shots of Jack Daniels in at thanksgiving, and start spouting obscenities, then you should be familiar with this. We all have an Uncle Frank somewhere in our family (I know this because one of my relatives did something similar.)
So, if you don't think he would be that kind of racist, you can have your opinion and we may have a respectable discussion. If you decide to be an asshole about it, then I will drop the ban hammer and we shan't deal with each other again.
Also, note that Jaune is not a Nazi (kind of the opposite). He's got a bunch of them in the legion, but he also has armies from practically every war in human history. Vampires would look at WW2 and see a buffet set out with a giant neon arrow pointing towards it. Especially, since my family had a nice career in killing Nazis back then.
Next chapter will be out next weekend, starting off with Jaune.
