"Get inside quick! What the hell happened to him?! Mephiles, get the first aid kit!" Shadow yelled as he immediately let Sonic in with Silver still in his arms.

Mephiles was confused by the yelling and didn't know what was happening only when Sonic entered with Shadow that he saw a sight that made fear grip his heart. Silver was bleeding in Sonic's arms as he froze for a second in shock. He quickly recovered and went to get to the first aid kid. He quickly came back and gave the box to Shadow who started to treat Silver.

It was a tense one hour but Shadow was able to remove the bullet from the wouf and stopped the bleeding. He wrapped Silver's stomach in bandages to avoid infection and they laid him in Mephiles' room to rest before going down the stairs and sat in the living room to calm down.

"What were both of you doing anyway?" Shadow asked Sonic who was still shaking but was calming down.

"We... We were just done v-visiting Scourge. When we were h-heading home, he..." Sonic trailed off and started to shake in fear when the incident earlier came back in his mind.

Shadow saw that he was shaking and sat closer to him before wrapping an arm around him in comfort.

"He?" Shadow urged him gently to continue.

"B-Bryan came out of n-nowhere with h-his friends a-and one of t-them had a g-gun." Sonic trembled and huddled close to Shadow for comfort.

That revelation was enough to make Shadow growl in full anger. He should've known Bryan would do this then he and Mephiles should have gone with them to visit Scourge to keep them safe.

"But why a gun?! Isn't that going too far?!" Mephiles exclaimed in anger as Sonic felt tears start up again.

"I didn't know they even had one! H-His friend suddenly took out the g-gun when we were trying t-to escape and S-Silver was-" Sonic couldn't continue explaining and started to cry.

He's really terrified now and Bryan just made it worse. Imagining your friend getting shot at by a deadly weapon would scare anyone.

"I-I'm sorry! I'm so sorry that I-I couldn't p-protect him! I'm s-so sorry, Mephiles..." Sonic whimpered as Shadow tried to comfort him.

Mephiles sighed and put his hand on his head and thought of what Silver said. He didn't expect that Bryan would really attack Silver so maybe what Silver said the other will really happen.

"It's alright. It's not your fault." Mephiles reassured him.

Shadow is trying to comfort Sonic by hugging him close and petting his quills gently but he couldn't help but be even more worried that Sonic would get hurt net before he realized something.

"But why is Bryan only attacking you guys? If he wanted to attack Fleetway and Mephiles, I would've known since both of them and you are my closest friends but why Scourge and Silver?" Shadow questioned in confusion.

"Silver talked to me about this before at the hospital. He predicted himself to be Bryan's next target but I didn't expect it to be true." Mephiles sighed as he was boiling inside. Bryan would pay for what he did. One way or another.

"Am I next then? Am I going to get attacked like Scourge and Silver?" Sonic whimpered in fear as he trembled and Shadow had to hold him close.

"I hope not. But if he did something to you, promise me that you will tell me." Shadow told him in worry and he nodded while sniffing.

The blue uke's phone suddenly started to ring which startled them a bit before taking it out and checking to see who it was before gasping in realization.

"Oh Chaos! He's looking for me!" Sonic cried out in panic.

"Who? Bryan?" Shadow started to growl but Sonic calmed him down by showing him who it was.

"N-No. My friend, Tails. I live with him and Knuckles, remember?" Sonic said which calmed Shadow down as he sighs in relief.

"But why do you look scared?" Shadow asked as Sonic laughed nervously.

"H-He gets really scary when he's angry." He said nervously as he answered the call with a shaking hand.

"Sonic, where are you? It's late already."

H-Hey, buddy! I'm doing a group work right now. Everything's fine!" Sonic lied but he could already hear how confuse Tails is.

"You sound a bit off right now.

"I'm perfectly fine. I'm at Silver's house at the moment." Sonic said as he laugh nervously while looking at Shadow and Mephiles who gave him an amused look.

"Then let me talk to Silver." That sent him into a panic. He absolutely cannot know what happened to his friend and if he finds out, he's toast!

"No! I mean, no. You, uh, can't right now. He's busy doing some research on the internet." Sonic said as Tails can be heard humming in consideration.

"When are you going to come home?"

"Ah, about that, I think the project might take a while to finish. So I'm gonna stay for the night here." Sonic reassured him as Tails sighed on the other side.

"Okay, just remember to tell me about it first. You had me and Knuckles really worried there when you didn't came home." Sonic smiled apologetically.

"Sorry about that, guys. I'll talk to you later, okay?" Sonic said.

"Okay, see ya." Tails said before hanging up and Sonic let out a huge sigh in relief before looking at Shadow in fear.

"I-I really don't wanna go home right now. I-I'm scared." Sonic said softly.

Shadow nodded in understanding before kissing his cheek.

"You can stay here for as long as you want." Shadow offered which got a smile from his uke.

Meanwhile...

"Mmm..." Silver groaned softly as he slowly opened his eyes in pain.

He looked around the room he was in and realized with confusion that he was not at his house and not his bed. A familiar scent woke him up fully and he looked to his right and saw his seme sitting on a bean bag while reading a book.

"M-Mephiles...?" Silver called weakly.

Mephiles heard his name being called and looked to see that Silver was finally awake. He closed the book and got up from the beanbag to check on him.

"How are you feeling?" Mephiles asked in concern as Silver winced when he tried to move.

"I feel s-so dizzy. A-Am I in your house?" Silver asked as he nodded.

"Yes. Sonic took you here when you got injured." Mephiles said as he sat down on the bed.

Silver tried to sit up but gasped when his stomach where the wound was still healing stung so bad. Mephiles put his hands on Silver's shoulder and pushed him down gently so he could lay down on the bed and rest to heal up more.

"Don't get up yet. You're not fully healed." Mephiles told him as he gave up and he looked at him.

"W-Where's Sonic?" Silver asked.

"He went to school with Shadow already. I decided to not go because I want to take care of you." Mephiles explained.

Silver frowned a little and placed his hand on top of his boyfriend's.

"You see how weak I am..." Silver muttered as he looked down.

Mephiles looked at him in concern before putting his other hand on Silver's cheek and rubbed his thumb gently on his muzzle.

"No, you're not weak. You're very strong." Mephiles told him gently.

That touched Silver's heart as he felt a tear fall from his eyes before turning his head to the side. He's really embarrassed to look at Mephiles and for his boyfriend to look at him while he's like this.

"I'm so pathetic... I always wondered why you'd pick me. Even loved me." Silver said as Mephiles blinked.

He was really surprised that Silver was saying this. He shook his head before leaning closer and kissing his cheek before petting his quills gently.

"If you keep asking me that, I feel like you don't trust me." Mephiles said as Silver looked at him.

"No. I'm just... really curious." Silver said.

He always wondered what Mephiles saw in him that made him love him. Mephiles couldn't help but smile as he started to list down what he liked about him that made him love him.

"Well, you're a cute hedgehog, also very smart and you have a very powerful telekinesis and that your eyes are the most beautiful shade of gold." Mephiles said as Silver started to blush lightly and smiled at him.

"You... really think my telekinesis is powerful?" Silver asked shyly as Mephiles nodded.

"Yeah and it's my first time meeting someone with psychic powers actually." Mephiles said truthfully.

That made Silver blush even more as he had to avert his eyes to the wall.

"U-Um, thank you. B-But if you met m-my brother then y-you'll see that his telekinesis is more p-powerful than mine." Silver said but he has that smile that Mephiles likes.

"I'm going to have to meet your family soon anyway." Mephiles suddenly said, which made Silver look at him in surprise.

"You really want to? W-Why?" He asked.

"I can't just marry you if I don't meet your family." Mephiles admitted with a closed eyed smile.

That made red steam come from Silver's head as he was blushing really bad that he had to cover his face with the blanket and Mephiles laughed softly at his adorableness.
