Chapter 5

I couldn't believe what I was seeing, five identical copies of Shin were in the living room and were undergoing Hiro's usual treatment to guys my age. "Shin? What's going on here? Why are you in my house? And why are there five of you?"
Four of the Shin's looked at the one I was talking to, and they all said the same thing. "You already knew her and didn't bother telling her about the gig?"
"Hey, don't get angry at me! I wasn't 100% sure she was our client! If anyone's to blame, it's Fuukun, if he didn't nearly make Nino cry, we wouldn't have been waiting for her like this!" exclaimed Shin
The Shins continued to argue as I stomped my way towards Hiro. "Hiro... What did I tell you about treating male guests?" The look on my face was calm and collected, yet the aura I was exuding caused even Hiro to cower in fear. "You can't continue doing this to protect me, Hiro. I'm already 17 years old, I can handle things on my own now!"
Hiro, still scared out of his wits said "But... I promised I would protect you... especially after what happened that time! I can't bear to lose another person dear to me, not after what happened to mom..." tears were already streaming down his face, and I couldn't help but feel sorry for him.
I approached him and gave him a bear hug. "There there, little guy. Onee-chan's not going anywhere, and I'll always be there for you, okay? Now could you please let the five identical men go? I'm pretty sure the reason they're here is because they're my new tutors." I then heard a sniffle coming from behind me, only to see the blue haired and white haired Shin crying. The red haired Shin had this sad look on his face too, but he immediately hid it with a smile.
The white haired Shin started speaking in English that no one understood, but then Shin spoke up and said. "I'm sorry for how he keeps doing this, whenever he gets overwhelmed by his emotions he tends to speak in English. But what my brother was saying was that he felt so sad after Hiro's touching explanation to his behavior, and that we all know what it's like to lose a mother." and after saying that all of them had a pained look in their eyes.
Hiro immediately understood what he meant and quickly untied their hands and feet. "I... I'm sorry for the horrible way I've treated you, I know you probably won't forgive me, but I'll make it up to you guys somehow! I promise!"
The white haired Shin smiled and tousled Hiro's hair, "Don't worry about it, man. Let the past stay in the past, we won't hold what you did to us against you." Hiro smile and nodded furiously, I haven't seen him like this since he last got a compliment from our father… and seeing him like that put a smile on my face too.
After the initial shock of what happened, we all gathered in the dining area, where I laid down the snacks I had bought earlier. "Okay... now that we've got that covered, why don't we introduce ourselves? As you all know by now, my name is Nino Nakano and I'll be under your care for the next two years!"
Hiro fiddled with his phone before speaking up. "Ummm I know I introduced myself earlier to you guys, but my names Hiro. I'm in my third year of middle school, I'm leaving my sister in your care. But please don't try to flirt with her, dozens of guys have already tried courting her, but none were successful." I blushed a bit at his comment and gestured for him to shut up. Luckily, he took the hint and stopped talking, while the Shins did nothing but laugh.
The white haired Shin took a cookie from the center of the table and smiled, "I guess I'll go first then. My name is Ikku Uesugi, I'm the man you met earlier at the library. As you can already guess I specialize in English. Looking forward to working with you Nino-chan"
The blue haired Shin spoke up next. "My name's Niko Uesugi, I've seen you around campus a few times today but never got the chance to introduce myself. I'm the vice president of the student council and I specialize in Math. I will warn you, Nakano-chan, I'm somewhat a strict teacher!" and with that comment all the other Uesugi brothers shuddered.
The black haired Shin nervously raised his hand. "Given the order of things I guess I'm next... My name's Fuutarou Uesugi. I specialize in Science." Shin then shoved his elbow into Fuutarou's gut. "And I'm sorry about the way I treated you, Nakano-san. Can we let bygones be bygones and start over with a clean slate?"
I smiled and nodded, "Sure, Fuutarou! We may have gotten off on the wrong foot earlier, but I'm glad we can start over." Fuutarou blushed and turned his head away.
The red haired Shin stood up proudly. "I'll go next since we gotta save the best for last! My name's Goro Uesugi, I nearly ran into you and Rin earlier, thankfully no one got hurt! I specialize in Japanese and am currently making my own novel! It's going to be fun working with you, Nino-san!"
Shin took a sip of his tea before speaking, "I wouldn't say I'm the best per se, but I am the all arounder of the group, Shin Uesugi. I specialize in social studies and in terms of the other subjects, I'm second only to my brothers, let's make the best out of these two years, Nino!"
After an hour or so of a mix of chatting and mini tutorial sessions, I noticed that it was already getting pretty late. "I'm so sorry for what happened earlier, but because of that I made you guys stay here late. Let me call you guys a taxi!" I reached for my phone but Ikku placed his hand of top of mine.
"We appreciate the gesture, Nino-chan, but we can't let you spend any more for our expense after offering us this job and these snacks. Our house isn't too far away from here, so we're fine with walking on our way home. Right guys?" and after saying that all the Uesugis nodded in agreement.
I pouted, "Fine, if you insist. So I'll see you guys tomorrow?"
All five of them smiled and said "For sure!"
After seeing them off I watched them walk for a bit until I couldn't see them anymore. Today started off pretty badly, but it did end on a good note. I made new friends, who also became my tutors, pretty small world, isn't it? Little did I know that one of those five boys would eventually become my husband five years later...
