She. Was. Pissed.

It hadn't even been a full week, and the same exact thing was happening all over again! Madara was torturing her, he was doing it to get to Sasuke, and he kidnapped her.

She had woken up to the feel of her skin burning with pain. When her eyes opened, she noticed three things: she was suspended by wires in the trees, Madara was holding a kunai and trying to slice her like he had in the prison, and that Sasuke was quickly approaching.

She tested the wires, letting them bite into her wrists and ankles as she challenged their strength. She did not give Madara the satisfaction of screaming as his kunai crisscrossed her bruised skin. She also gave no indication to Madara that Sasuke was about to be behind him.

She felt the wire holding her left leg had the slightest give compared to the others. She thought through her possible course of attack.

If Madara brought the kunai to her face, she might be able to wrench it out of his hand with her mouth, bringing her left knee up and into his gut with some chakra enhancement at the same time. From there she could spit the kunai at him to push him further back and towards Sasuke.

She didn't have long to act if she was going to. Decided, she opened her mouth to taunt him, knowing he'd bring the kunai within reach of her mouth if he got angry enough at her taunts.

Madara did not need her to tell him Sasuke was there, sensing the brat's approach for himself. He was also not interested in her attempts to taunt him.

He humored her for a moment, looking into her angry eyes, a retort on his lips. The sentiment died as he continued to stare into her eyes.

They were nothing like Rin's, the most doe-brown, soul-piercing, and beautiful eyes. Yet, reflected back at him in pools of green there was a familiar expression, a look like something his old teammate had worn.

His heart squeezed painfully for a moment, and then he was angry. Everything else forgotten, Obito lashed out at her with the kunai, wanting to get the look off her face.

Sakura wasted no time executing the rest of her plan. She would have to heal her current injuries anyway, so she may as well not worry about inflicting new damage to her leg from the wire.

Obito went flying.

Sasuke was there then, going after 'Madara' with cold fury in his eyes. The older Uchiha had no option but to defend, flickering parts of his body to safety and getting as far away as possible from Sasuke's lightening attacks.

Sakura figured she may as well use the kunai in her mouth to get free since Sasuke was already engaging the enemy.

Bracing herself, she adjusted her left arm as far forward as she could, letting the wire sink into her skin, safely above where it could open an artery. She lined up her shot carefully and spit the kunai with a flicker of chakra on her tongue, relieved instantly when the wire cut with a satisfying twang.

She made quick work of the other wires with a chakra scalpel and fell into a crouch on the tree branch below her to tend to her injuries. She stopped all bleeding and closed up the deeper wounds on her ankle and wrist. The Madara who had her didn't inflict anything truly deep enough that required her immediate attention.

She quickly salvaged what she could of her supplies on the forest floor below. She tied some of the medical packs and weapons pouches that could be tied back in place and slipped the flak jacket on. It wouldn't zip closed anymore, but the scrolls she had stored in it she wanted to keep.

She shifted focus to the fight happening in front of her, angry and ready to take that burning anger out on her kidnapper.

She clamped down tightly on her chakra, weaving signs for a water style jutsu.

She wasn't particularly skilled with elemental attacks yet, but she had taken the test a while ago and found her primary chakra nature to be water. Long before the war she mastered a water technique helpful in dealing with poisons, whether as a method of delivering poison into specific tissues of an enemy, or as a method of removing poison from the tissues of an ally.

From the onset of the war, she had picked up a handful of techniques to survive on the frontlines and could now produce a few water style attacks for offense and defense. One in particular that she learned from Izumo would prove useful in this situation.

She had noticed 'Madara' avoiding Sasuke's lighting style, and she laid in wait for him to get close enough.

When he was in position, his eyes on Sasuke, she unleashed it, "Water Style: Starch Syrup Field!"

The ground under Madara flooded with sticky water. Sasuke took immediate advantage and electrified the water.

Madara was unable to escape all of it in time, disappearing with his kamui after starting to get electrocuted.

He reappeared a few feet outside the range of Sakura's syrup field, kneeling on one knee and panting, his Akatsuki cloak smoking.

Sakura grinned, raising a glowing fist, ready to charge.

She and Sasuke danced around the now-wounded 'Madara,' keeping him on his toes. They hadn't fought together in years, but their attacks flowed and coordinated like it had only been days.

She was still very angry, but she was also happy. Happy that she and Sasuke were fighting together, on the same team again.

The ground shook violently beneath them the next moment, and it was all Sakura could do to keep her balance.

She kept one eye on Sasuke and one on 'Madara.'

She could feel how close the fighting was to them now. She could feel Naruto's chakra for certain, and multiple other powerful chakras. They had a maximum of two minutes to eliminate this Madara before getting overrun by the battle with the undead Madara.

She pulled the last of her kunai, sending one at a time, waiting and watching him disappear and reappear, spotting the weakest area to attack.

Sasuke did essentially the same thing with volley after volley of shuriken from seals on his wrists.

'Madara' was slowly but surely weakening. They should be able to do this in the remaining minute and a half.

When he was bleeding from multiple stab wounds, kunai and shuriken hanging off his body, Sakura knew it was time. She readied two chakra scalpels with a nod to Sasuke, who powered up his chidori.

They had one minute now. One of the two of them had to land a fatal blow.

Sakura swiped, aiming for arteries and organs. 'Madara' dodged one and phased his chest out. He kicked her away.

Sasuke dodged fire-style attacks 'Madara' sent his way, chidori at the ready. Madara phased his entire body out, safely letting the chidori pass by.

Sasuke pivoted on cat's feet, twisting, and flipping his body without losing much momentum to strike once more with the same chidori.

At the same time, Sakura charged up at 'Madara' with her scalpels from below, careful to be sure her trajectory would not land her in Sasuke's line of fire should 'Madara' phase his whole body again.

They had just thirty seconds. 'Madara' did not have enough chakra to phase his entire body out again so soon. He had limited choices. He let the chidori pass through him, braced for the electricity that would jump for his still tangible body parts. He used his hands to grab for Sakura's and deflect the worst of her damage.

Succeeding, but jerking from the electricity, Obito let himself fall away from the two, rolling as he hit the forest floor and running in the direction of the other Madara's fight.

Sakura saw one of her scalpels had cut through the orange mask, revealing a young and very Uchiha face bleeding with an ugly gash. Sakura grit her teeth, knowing that they had lost their chance to kill him before joining the other fight.

They made ready to follow 'Madara' into the fray.

The trees gave way to prairie land, scarred and burning from the fight.

Sakura could hardly believe her eyes, witnessing dead Hokage fighting side by side with the living Kage of their day, with Naruto leading the charge against one man and his clones. One man and his clones who were all engulfed in a perfect Susanoo. In the distance, she could just make out a support division of what she guessed were long-range fighters and medics.

If she hadn't chosen to follow Sasuke, perhaps she would have been stationed there herself.

She suddenly felt small. She fought against one weakened 'Madara' without winning, and now she was supposed to fight an even more powerful and undead version?

She had so many other questions, like how the former Hokage were present. Like how her friends were doing. Like how five Kage and four undead Hokage were not crushing one man.

She glanced at Sasuke, who showed no surprise, concern, or fear. His face was neutral, with only the faintest trace of anger and determination.

She could not leave him now, not after everything. She couldn't abandon Naruto either. She would just have to act as their direct support as medic and stay out of the fighting.

The air itself around them seemed to shudder as one moment a single stationary figure amid the battle disappeared from its post and reappeared next to them.

Sakura did not have time to process that it was the undead Madara in front of them. She did not have time to process that he was holding a katana. She did not have time to stop him from stabbing Sasuke in the heart.
