Well onwards to future chapters! I am not necessarily the best when it comes to fight scenes, but you've stuck with me this far! So let's waste no time at all and get right into the meat and potatoes of the story!

################################

Kytheon was looking forward to the rest of the day. It had started off well enough in English, which he was slowly getting the hang of, but by no means was it his easiest class. The other required classes also were fairly run of the mill, but to him, it was a new type of excitement that he was not used to. He never had the chance to be officially schooled growing up, so it was interesting to see how classrooms worked and the dynamics between teacher and student. Sure he had learned under Hixus, but that was more like an apprenticeship that few were allowed to undertake.

Lunch was also exciting but for a different reason. Yes he had eaten in cafeterias before, in fact, quite frequently. But the gourmet food the students received here was far better than the generic slop he received in prison, or the rations on zendikar and Ravnica. The closest thing he could think of were the cafes on Kaladesh, but those were almost like tourist traps. He sat with Izuku, Ochako, and Tenya, plate piled high with carbs and proteins but very little fats. He rubbed his hands in delight, only to be caught off guard by the appearance of the Hero Lunch Rush. It wasn't that he hadn't seen something like that before, the aforementioned Kaladesh had no small numbers of grand constructs, even some whose only purpose was to make more of themselves. No, it was that he was so cheerful and friendly to them all. With the exception of Karn, he had never met a sentient mechanical being, so that was a bit of a surprise, but thanks to the hero he had so much food, so he couldn't really complain all that much.

"Jeez, Kytheon, where does all of that go?" Izuku asked, gawking at the massive pile of food on his plate.

"Indeed, Iora, surely eating that much might cause you problems later on during the Hero training class?"

Kytheon waved their concerns aside with a hand as he drank some water. "I lead a very active lifestyle, and these are wonderful foods to keep myself healthy and alert! And Tenya, please, call me Kytheon. Like I said before, I don't really get the whole last name thing."

And then came the class he was really looking forward to: the Hero Basic Training course. He had absolutely no idea what to expect from this class, so he was more than thrilled to give it a shot and do his best.

"I am coming through the door like a normal person!"

A massive figure in a bright costume burst through the door in a very abnormal fashion, Kytheon noted despite the man's claims. So this was All-Might, hmm? Kytheon had to admit, the man did work. It was nearly impossible to go anywhere or do anything without being reminded of his presence. He was a hero, Kytheon had determined in his preparations for UA. And sure he had seen him in the introduction letter's disk thing, but now was his chance to see how the mighty man was in person.

He could hear the gasps and statements from the rest of the class, clearly in awe that such a massive celebrity would be teaching them in this course. Having not grown up under the enormous influence of the man, Kytheon wasn't nearly as overwhelmed as some of the other students, but he couldn't ignore the fact that their excitement was contagious.

"It is a subject where you train in different ways to learn the basics of being a hero. You'll take the most units of this subject! Let's get right into it! This is what we'll do today… Combat Training!"

While Kytheon could do without all the posing and dramatics, he assumed it was probably only second nature to the behemoth in front of him. So used to the public eye, there was no way that his public displays didn't carry over to his private life. But combat training, this was something he could more than handle. Unlike simple physical tests like on the first day, combat was as much mental as it was physical. A man with a stick and a good enough plan can ruin the entire strategy of the strongest fighters in existence.

"And to go with that, are these!" He declared, pointing to the walls where a number of numbered lockers began sliding out. Kytheon blinked. How long had those been there?

"Costumes made based on your quirk registrations and requests you sent in before school started. After you change, gather in Ground Beta!"

Kytheon smiled and sighed in relief. He was finally going to have armor once again, he could not wait. He had sent in his sural and buckler to be incorporated with his costume as support items. Midnight had been quite thrilled to start designing his costume, having several of her own ideas drafted up already, only to be mildly crushed when Kytheon said he already knew what he wanted his outfit to look like. There was only ever one option in his mind for the appearance he wanted to give to people.

Whatever this combat training threw at him, he would handle it.

#####################################

Kytheon had waited to get into his costume until most of the others had left the locker room. While every fiber of his being wanted to get out there and be the example he wanted and needed to be, he needed to have a moment to himself as he looked at his costume.

The polished and blackened steel, with the gold trim on the breastplate and pauldrons, the blue orb on his upper right chest, the blue and teal fabric around his waist. The bracer for his right hand with his sural built in, the buckler on his left gauntlet. However, there were a few changes he had requested from his original design. The first, on the center of his bracer, he had the symbol of the Boros legion engraved. Then across his back, he had the mark of the Gatewatch emblazoned in gold detailing. He knew that even in this new world, with no way of getting to them, the gatewatch still had his back. But most importantly, and despite Midnight's questioning and insisting, he specifically requested that there be no mask, no helmet. When Midnight had asked him the day he submitted his request why, his response was simple.

"I need my allies to see my face and be inspired. I need my enemies to see me and fear. I need people to know who I am, so that they may trust that it is me coming to their rescue."

Once he was fully dressed, armor was not easy to equip for sure, he ran out to join the crowd of students at Ground Beta. Everyone was already there, so they all turned to look at him as he strode out of the doorway, standing tall and proud. There were some raised eyebrows and impressed whistles at the intricate detailing of his armor, and some curious gazes directed to the strange symbols on him as well. He stepped forwards and saluted All-Might.

"Sorry for being late, it won't happen again Sir."

The massive muscular man laughed. "Do not worry, young Iora. You have not missed anything yet. You, and everyone else here, look really cool! Now, shall we begin, you zygotes?"

##########################

"Most of the time, fighting villains takes place outside, but if you look at the total numbers, atrocious villains appear indoors at a higher rate. Imprisonment, house arrest, backroom deals, In this society filled with heroes, truly intelligent villains hide in the shadows!"

Kytheon flashed back to the memories he had. There were two types of villains he faced off against. Those like Erebos, Ulamog, Kozilek, and Emrakul were not ones to hide in the shadows. But that was merely because their true power dominated entire laws of reality, and were far too mighty to take down by any hero. He remembered when Kozilek and Ulamog's true forms were pulled from the blind eternities. Their bodies, filling the sky, blotting out the sun as the entire plane trembled from the mere weight of existence. These weren't villains. They were forces of nature no hero could hope to match.

But then there were the other villains he had faced, the ones that truly frightened him. The House Dimir on Ravnica, Tezzeret on Kaladesh, the Cabal on Dominia, but most frightening of all, Nicol Bolas. From his unknown corruption of Amonkhet, to his string-pulling at the inventor's fair at Kaladesh, to his infiltration of the guilds in Ravnica, all culminating to the final showdown and his attempted ascension to Godhood at the seat of the citadel, a grand puzzle several thousand pieces in the making. All-Might was correct. The truly intelligent villains hid in the shadows.

"For this class, you'll be split into Villains and Heroes and fight 2-on-2 indoor battles."

"Without basic training?" An interesting looking girl in a frog-like costume asked. From what Kytheon had seen in class yesterday, that tongue of hers was her quirk.

"This is a real battle to understand those basics! However, the key this time is that there's no robot you can just beat up."

"How will wins and losses be counted then?"

"Can we beat them up anyway?"

"Will the punishment be expulsion like with Mr. Aizawa?"

"How shall we be split up?"

"Isn't this cape crazy?"

"Give All-might some space to talk, jeez!" Kytheon declared, loud enough to be heard over the flurry of questions being flung at their teacher. Said man heaved a sigh of relief as everything quieted down thanks to the armored teen.

"Thank you young man. Now, the situation is that the villains have hidden a nuclear weapon somewhere in their hideout."

Judging by everyone's reactions, that was a big deal. Mark 'nuclear weapon' down as something he needed to research later.

"The heroes are trying to dispose of that. The heroes need to catch the villains or get the nuclear weapon back in the allotted time. The villains need to protect the weapon for the whole time or catch the heroes. Teams and opponents will be determined by drawing lots!"

"They're being decided so haphazardly?" Tenya interjected. Kytheon had actually nodded at the revelation, turning to his friend.

"Of course, haven't you heard the phrase 'Adversity makes for strange bedfellows'? There is never a guarantee that you will be with the same people for each situation, so being able to adapt with any partner is important in hero work." Otherwise he most certainly would not have even dreamed about teaming up with Liliana Vess on Dominia and Innistrad. Tenya nodded as All-might sighed in relief again.

"Well said, young Iora. I could not have explained it better myself! Let's do this quickly now!"

And so the drawing of lots began. Ochako and Izuku were teamed up, which Kytheon found quite amusing. The eldrazi looking guy that Kytheon had learned was named Mezo was teamed up with the Shoto Ice guy, whose costume was… interesting to say the least. He himself was teamed up with Momo Yaoyorozu, whose outfit Midnight would certainly approve of, though he felt it showed an unnecessary amount of skin for someone their age, though he supposed her quirk did somewhat force an exception. Team D was Katsuki and Tenya, who despite his faith in his speedster friend, he knew would likely lose due to the discourse between them. Team E was a pink girl he learned was named Mina, and the obnoxiously pretentious dude Yuga. Team F was a guy named Rikido and another named Koji, and Kytheon frankly had no idea what either were capable of. Team G seemed unassuming but Kytheon knew not to underestimate based on appearances. The Denki guy seemed to have an electricity based quirk, while Kyoka looked to have earphone jacks emerging from her earlobes. Depending on their capabilities, they could form a devastating duo. Team H had the bird headed man with the shade following him and the frog girl, Fumikage and Tsuyu respectively. Team I had Mashirao and Toru, which Kytheon was hoping and praying that she was not in fact naked and instead had a special costume that was invisible too. And finally Team J had Hanta and Eijiro, the latter of the two Kytheon would need to talk to later about his quirk. Those with similar abilities had to stick together after all.

Kytheon stepped over to Momo. "It appears we will be working together for this exercise. I hope this won't be a problem?"

The black haired girl chuckled and shook her head. "I like to think we stand a pretty good chance of winning in this exercise, if what I've heard and seen about your quirk can be believed."

Their attention was drawn to All-Might's hands, with the A and D ball clenched tightly in them.

"Crap…" Kytheon muttered with gritted teeth. His partner looked at him.

"What's wrong?"

As they began to head to the monitor room, Kytheon clasped a hand on Izuku's shoulder and gave him a strong look. "Win." He stated, before returning to his partner's side. Then he turned to her and answered her question.

"What's wrong may not be my place to say… but Izuku and Katsuki have some…. Let's call it bad blood for now. And we saw what Katsuki's temper was like back at the test yesterday…"

Momo put a hand to her chin. "You're right. This could end poorly… but All-Might won't let it go that far, right?"

"We can only hope."

###################################

At first, Kytheon was livid with All-might. For not stopping the fight when Izuku could get seriously injured or especially even killed. But as the situation went on, becoming more and more dire, Kytheon realized what the teacher was doing.

'I see… by forcing Izuku to face this demon, he is making him grow past his prior fears. By confronting his tormentor head on, All-might is making sure that Izuku can handle the pressure and take the necessary steps. An… interesting teaching method, that is for sure. But will it last in the long run? At least Izuku did what I told him to and won…' He thought to himself with a small smile. The commentary in the room had been interesting during the fight, that was for sure. His classmates all had very distinct viewpoints on the situation. But he was certain that if he ever ended up in a direct confrontation with Katsuki…

He would teach the explosive user a lesson in heroics.

He agreed with All-might that the MVP of the exercise was Tenya, though he wanted to hear All-Might's explanation as to why first, to make sure they were seeing the same thing on those screens in the dark room.

"Does anyone know?"

Both Kytheon and Momo shot their hands up in unison. "Yes, Mr. All-might!" they said, before looking at each other. Kytheon chuckled awkwardly and gestured for her to go ahead. He felt that he should allow others to state their cases before him.

"That is because Iida adapted the most to the context of the training. From watching the match, it appears Bakugo acted on his own because of an obviously personal grudge. And as you said earlier, teacher, it is foolish to launch a large scale attack indoors. In the same way, taking into consideration the damage he received, Midoriya's plan was also rash. As for Uraraka, she let her guard down mid-battle, and her final attack was too reckless. If she treated the papier-mache as a real weapon, she would not have been able to do something so dangerous. Iida had prepared for his opponent's arrival and assumed it would be a fight over the weapon, which made him late in responding to the final attack. The hero team only won because they took advantage of the fact that this was training. They were practically breaking the rules."

Kytheon watched this go on with growing admiration. She had quite the tactical mind from the sound of it, and it appeared that not even their teacher was immune to the surprise from the little speech she provided. All-might then turned to Kytheon.

"You had your hand up too, what were you going to say?"

"Well, in fewer words, a similar story. Tenya seemed to be the one to prepare the most for the exercise and also adapted the fastest to changing situations. His clearing out of the bomb room to prevent Ochako from using her quirk was a rather brilliant one, and he also realized she was coming for the bomb rather than a fight with him quite quickly, shifting his plan accordingly. The other three had very reckless plans, which Momo thoroughly covered, and likewise didn't entirely adapt whenever something new changed. That is all I have to offer."

"R-right. While Iida did have some things he could improve, you guys pretty much covered it all."

"We should always start with the basics to develop depth of learning. We must strive to devote ourselves wholeheartedly. Otherwise, we cannot become top heroes."

Kytheon had heard rumor that she was one of the four students admitted based on recommendations from someone else, and Kytheon could see why. She had the studious attitude one could expect from one dedicated to their life choices.

"Alright everyone, let's change locations and start the second match. Tackle this training after thinking about what we just talked about!"

A unison cheer went up, and the testing continued.

True to Kytheon's fears, it would appear that the invisible girl was, in fact, completely nude for her hero costume. He would have to be careful with his heiromancy around her if ever he had to fight.

But that Todoroki… Kytheon had to say, he was quite impressed. "That is one efficient way to take care of business…" He said with a sweatdrop. "I do not envy his opponents. He is on a completely different level of power from them…" He muttered.

Eventually, it was his turn. He and Momo were chosen to be the villain side, while Denki and Kyoka were going to be the heroes. They strode into the building, climbing up to the floor where the bomb was as fast as possible.

"So, Momo, what are your thoughts on this? Any ideas on how best to defend?" Kytheon asked, glancing over at his partner in crime. She glanced back at him.

"My quirk allows me to produce anything from my body, so long as I know exactly how it is composed. This can provide fortifications to this room, making it much harder for them to actually reach this room. That said, what exactly is your quirk? I saw the chains you used yesterday, but then I have heard from some of the other students that you took a direct blow from a Zero point robot the size of a building, and with the exception of your clothes, you escaped without a scratch. It will be easier to strategize if I know what you are capable of."

Kytheon supposed it was reasonable enough to expect, and nodded. "It's… complicated. My quirk is called Hieromancy. On the surface, it appears to be the manipulation of Hard light, but it seems to carry with it its own powers. I have not been able to fully test its capabilities, but if I have it active, I gain an almost impenetrable defense, and can channel it through my weapon. I can also conjure those chains, and while I am not sure of the full capabilities, I believe it can provide bonuses to allies as well, though I do not know how well it would cooperate with other quirks. It is… constantly evolving…" He said. Now that he was forced to put his skills out there, it sounded bizarre, especially since he couldn't just say "it is a type of magic I was taught." Momo seemed shocked as he listed all of his capabilities, before it morphed into a smile.

"So it seems you are more of a frontline combatant. Good to know." Then from there, they discussed what they knew about their opponents' capabilities and personalities, and what they might try to do. Ultimately they decided that Kytheon would descend to the lower floors and try to buy her enough time to fully fortify the room, if outright detaining the others was impossible.

"Granted, them making it past you seems pretty unlikely…" Momo said with a chuckle. "I almost feel bad for them."

Kytheon chuckled and shook his head. "Don't feel bad for your enemy, we're the villains in this scenario. We are supposed to be scum of the earth!" He said with a laugh. With that, they parted ways, him walking out the door before hearing her start barricading the door with the steel beams she had started producing while they talked. Her quirk was quite impressive, he had to admit. He shook the smile off his face, trying to imagine himself as Erebos, or Nicol Bolas. The heroes would be entering the building soon, so he moved to the stairwell. He heard the voices of the two opponents from the hallways at the bottom.

'Crap, they're already here? Better get down there…'

He unfolded his Sural and jumped from the fifth floor of the building, plummeting through the space in the center of the stairwell. He landed with a thunderous crash right as Denki and Kyouka opened the door, causing the two of them to stumble back, screaming in terror at the sudden appearance of the armored, glowing teen.

In the viewing room, the others were watching with slack jaws at how easily he took such a drop, and the intimidating figure he cut, glaring at the two "heroes".

"Holy crap... What is his quirk?!" Eijiro asked, amazed at the sight on the screen. All-Might, having heard the explanation Kytheon gave to Momo, sweated a little bit.

'With such a powerful and wide-ranged quirk, how did he slip by under the radar for so long until Midnight found him? Where did she find him? Thank god we did instead of someone more… nefarious…'

Back in the building, Denki had stepped forwards, getting into a slightly shaken fighting stance. Kyouka couldn't utilize her quirk's more destructive capabilities with Denki in the way, so she had also gotten into a slightly more together fighting stance, though her heart was beating several miles a minute after the jumpscare of the crashing Kytheon. Said teen glared at them.

"You need more heroes if you think you can take our base.. Or even just me." He declared, slipping easily into his role as villain before immediately charging the duo in front of him. He flung his Sural out forwards at Denki who dodged to the side before he grinned.

"Not a good idea to be wearing that much metal against me!" He declared, his body starting to spark. Kyouka took that as her directive to leave, running down a separate side hallway to find another way to get up to a higher floor. Kytheon immediately activated his earpiece.

"Momo! Kyouka split to another hallway. Engaging Denki now!" He bellowed, closing the last gap between him and the electric blond.

Only to immediately regret it as Denki discharged, unleashing bolts of lightning in all directions. He bellowed as he fell to one knee as his armor acted like a lightning rod, gathering the lightning all onto his body. Denki immediately stopped, and pulled the capture tape out, stepping towards the smoking, kneeling body of Kytheon. But that wasn't enough to put down the beefslab. When Denki got closer, Kytheon raised his head, before raising his hand. With some deft movements, Denki found himself wrapped up in the glowing blades of Kytheon's Sural, falling to his knees.

"W-what? What is this?" the electricity user asked, fighting against his bonds as Kytheon pushed himself to his feet.

"Gotta admit, it has been a while since I last got electrocuted… but thankfully my aura was able to channel that along my body and into the ground…" He said, flexing his hands. "I needed you to drop your guard to get the fastest way to remove you from the equation. Sorry." He said simply, wrapping the capture tape around Denki so he could untangle his sural. He tapped his earpiece as Denki slumped to the ground. "Restrained Denki, now- ah crap, you fried it. Anyways…" He said, rubbing his chin. Thinking fast, he whirled around and began taking the stairs two at a time. He wasn't sure how much time had passed since the beginning of the mission, but with Kyouka running loose somewhere in the building, he needed to get back to the most defensible position, the floor with the bomb. Hopefully he could get there before Kyouka did.

He got to the fifth floor, just in time to see the tail of Kyouka's coat disappear around a corner. "Halt!" He bellowed, running after her fleeing form. However, she always managed to remain one turn ahead of him, always just staying out of reach of his abilities. After the second or third lap of running around, he decided enough was enough, ceasing his pursuit and returning to the door that he knew was the barricaded entrance to the bomb room.

"If she wants the bomb, she will have to go through me…"

However, what he had not expected was for Kyouka to go back down a floor. She knew that it was unlikely that she could successfully beat Kytheon in a fight, so she needed to find a way to get the bomb without having to face the warrior teen. Cue her plugging her jacks into the walls of the fourth floor to listen to what was above her. She located where the room was that held the bomb and got under it, before trying to consider what to do next. Her heartbeat moves weren't strong enough to bring down the floor. Besides, that would be hazardous to both her and the bomb. Not to mention, it sounded like Momo was being quite industrious up there. That was another thing, she doubted that she could take one of the recommended students in a fight, especially not after seeing what the other recommended student would do.

In short, Kyouka summarized, things looked bad. Not to mention, time was running out. She had spent so much time running from Kytheon that now there were only a few minutes left in her mission. There was no time to go all the way back down to Denki and try to untangle him from the capture tape and bring him back up, besides, Kytheon could likely take both of them out with ease again.

"What to do, what to d-"

"VILLAINS WIN!"

Huh.

Kytheon hadn't realized that he had spent so much time pursuing Kyouka that time had run out.

Well then. He smiled and rapped on the door. "Ya hear that, partner? We did it! Not the flashiest of victories, but it was worth it!" He said, hearing commotion on the other side of the door as Momo removed the barricade. She gave him a stern look.

"Why weren't you responding on your earpiece? I kept trying to contact you with it but I kept getting no response whatsoever!" She said, smacking him lightly on the back of the head. Kytheon tried to shield himself.

"Oi oi! Don't blame me, Denki fried the thing when he electrocuted me!"

Momo sniffed the air before getting a look of disgust. "So that's why you smell burnt. You don't look like it though, I am assuming your Hieromancy had something to do with that?"

"Yup. Used it to protect myself but pretended to get struck to make Denki drop his guard."

"Good plan, guess you aren't just a slab of beef." She teased, finally smiling a little bit. Kytheon froze for a second before chuckling as well.

Victorious, the two made their way out of the building, meeting up with Denki, who had been untied by a downtrodden Kyouka. After Kytheon clapped them on the shoulders and congratulated them on a well-fought battle, they made their way back to their teacher. After finishing up with the last few analyses and battles, they were all done.

######################################

Kytheon had to admit, he was a bit worried when Izuku hadn't come back to class in time. It appeared that even Recovery Girl's quirk held some limitations. He was so distracted, Aizawa had to sometimes call on him twice before he would get a response. Fortunately, just as the classes for the day were starting to close up…

"Oh! Midoriya's here! Good work!" Kytheon perked up at the sound of Eijiro's voice. He sprung to his feet with some of his fellow classmates.

"Man, I don't know what you were saying during the match, but you were fired up!" The redhead continued, as Hanta jumped in next.

"I can't believe you fought evenly with Bakugo, who came second in the entrance exam!"

Kytheon strode over even as others heaped praise and compliments on the shell-shocked green teen. He nudged his way through the crowd of introductions with a big grin, which Izuku returned.

"You did great Izuku. What a show to lead off the challenges with! Of course, you had me worried sick when you didn't return for the rest of the afternoon!"

Eijiro chuckled. "You should've seen the look on Aizawa's face when he had to repeat Iora-" "Kytheon!" "Kytheon's name multiple times to get him to answer a question."

Izuku looked at Kytheon with a surprise. "Really? You were that worried?"

"Well, of course!" He declared. "You were unconscious at the time, but I had carried you after you destroyed the zero pointer in the exam. I had seen Recovery Girl heal you in no time at all back then, so of course I would be concerned with you not coming back! Besides, I'm your friend, right?"

"Wait, Deku, she didn't heal your injuries?"

Kytheon raised his arm, allowing Ochako to duck underneath it with a stack of books.

"Oh, uh, it's because of how much stamina I have, and…" Izuku seemed to pause. "Where is Bakugo?"

"We all tried to stop him, but he went home just now without saying anything…"

Izuku turned to go running out the door, but Kytheon grabbed his shoulder. "Oi, where do you think you are going?"

"I-I need to go explain something-"

"You don't need to explain anything, Izuku." Kytheon said, causing Izuku to turn and look at him with surprise.

"You don't understand-"

"You're right. I don't know fully what transpired in the past between you and Katsuki. But the fact of the matter is, he is prideful. Far too prideful. And it seems that right now, he lost for the first time. Seeing how emotionally driven he is, this might take some time for him to comprehend. Let him be, and don't provoke him any further. Celebrate your victory instead, turn him from your mind until tomorrow."

Izuku looked at the ground. It was true, Bakugo was prideful… but he needed to do this. He shook himself free and ran out the door. Kytheon sighed. "Well, I tried… Let's let them figure this out then I guess."

Denki popped over. "Hey Kytheon, I've got a question or two about your quirk… I'm sure a bunch of us do." There were a bunch of nods from the other students who were packing up as well.

"Uh… Don't know how well I can answer them as I don't fully understand it myself, but I can try!"

"When you got me in those metal strip things, I… I dunno, it was strange, but I couldn't use my quirk! I kept trying to bring out more lightning, but nothing came out! What was that all about, man?"

That certainly got everyone's attention as they all stopped what they were doing and stared at the tall teen. Kytheon swallowed nervously and rubbed the back of his neck.

"And how does that explain what you did in the entrance exam, how you took a hit from a Zero pointer and didn't have a single mark on your body? Or those chains from the test yesterday?" Tenya chimed in. Kytheon sighed.

"It's… all a bit complicated, and I can't fully explain it. It has evolved consistently since it manifested, and new applications keep showing up." Gods that sounded ridiculous. How badly he wanted to tell the truth about his magic! "I don't know all of what it can do, so, I'm going in about as blind as you guys are." And such a blatant lie too! Kytheon hated this so much. He was not one for deceptions like this. Fortunately, the others seemed to buy into it.

"That's hella cool man!" Eijiro declared. "No wonder you got first in the practical, with a quirk like that, what chance do the rest of us stand?"

It seemed that everybody was in a similar boat to the hardening boy. What Kytheon was unaware of, was one student in the back of the room that was listening in.

'Could he… could he be the one that can…. I'll have to ask him later….'

Welp… I'mma be honest, I'm not quite as thrilled about this chapter as I have the previous ones. The whole hero v villain exercise was surprisingly difficult to write. I don't want Kytheon to be too directly overpowered, as it wouldn't be much fun if he could call his chains up at a moment's notice and just shut everyone down every fight. However, if we look at it from an objective point of view, Denki and Kyoka really couldn't do anything to stop him. So that kinda ended up putting me in a weird spot, leaving me kinda unsatisfied with how it all went down.

That being said, I hope that that doesn't become a trend in my works, I want to make sure you guys like the story! 50 internet cookies to the person who successfully guesses whose thoughts we were reading at the end of the chapter. (The coming interaction between them was actually one of the first ideas I had when writing this story.) I also promise that future fight scenes are not nearly as half-assed as this one.
