Many moons ago, before Arjuna and The Mataki, there was a poor, pitiful, high priest.

They called him a traitor. They called him a heretic. In reality, he was trying to save his dearest friend, but everyone misunderstood. Or in actuality, the Royal Family misunderstood.

When they damned him, they damned themselves and the world.

Time flowed as it was meant to be.

For the first time in eons, the Royal Family understood. They no longer call him a traitor, but a visionary. They no longer call him a heretic, but their savior.

He would save them all from the blight of humanity by drowning the city in a sea of black sand.

If Kain lived through this adventure, he was going to treat Erza to a strawberry cake.

"Do not fall so easily, Descendant of The Accursed Crusader!" The Wyvern Rider looked up and jumped away from the woman. The female apostle landed with the force of a meteor despite her figure and rose from the ashes with a golden blade. The lawyer's instincts blared like sirens to him, forcing his body to parry a strike meant to decapitate him. As the sparks flew off their blades clashing, the swordswoman followed up her assault with a furious flurry. "You must suffer before your punishment!"

Luckily, Kain defended himself with modest swordplay. You think he would be strategically planning his victory against the experienced weapon user. Instead, at that moment, Kain decided to buy Erza cake for the next month for teaching him how to not look like an idiot wielding a blade.

The lawyer looked up before dashing out of the way of several vehicles thrown his way.

"I keep telling you people! I'm not Horus' descendant!" The rider cried out as he took out Horus' personal weapon and turned into a whip. With a seamless move, Kain attacked an archway above the two Carbuncle members. The rubble fell on the bulkier member of Carbuncle while the weapon master avoided the falling debris.

"Cannon!" The female looked away before Kain sped in and punched the woman in the face with all the strength of a wyvern.

While high on adrenaline, Kain heard something behind him and flew away from rocks thrown speeding at him that rivaled armor-piercing bullets.

The leader of Carbuncle returned.

"Coordinator, Cannon," The cloaked man slowly began to levitate, as he did, black sand started flying around him, and then they started to form into a dozen blades. "Go after the others and help Chase get the staff and the priestess. I will handle the crusader's descendant."

They all ignored Kain shouting a quick, "Aww, come on!?"

"Yes, Dyst." Coordinator gave a short bow before returning her weapon.

A large fist busted through the rubble, revealing the larger man known as Cannon to be alright.

Kain turned Horus' weapon into a blade and fired two sword beams at the other two members with the intent to stop them before they could get to the others. However, two sand-black blades swooped in and shattered the two attacks.

"Go!" The leader shouted before the two raced after the rest of Fairy Tail.

Kain removed one blade and brought back Horus' Omni Tool before turning it into a shield.

The two stared each other down. One had the mind to exact his revenge while the other hated the fact that now he was stronger, he now had to fight the even bigger baddies.

Dyst threw his hand—the twelve blades would have skewered any person who wasn't faster than a blink. Kain dodged the black sand and sped right for Dyst with his sword raised.

He brought it down—only for his blow to get blocked by two black sand blades. Dyst motioned his hand, and the swords flew back for the red rider.

Kain had super speed, which greatly helped him fend off twelve floating blades trying to turn him into a pincushion. While trying to evade the blades, Kain was pinned down in one area. Dyst charged up his hand before pushing a highly powerful telekinetic blast. The attack launched Kain with enough force to propel him through several buildings.

The lawyer forced himself to get up and saw a frightened family staring at him from their dining table.

He was about to tell them to evacuate, but then, Kain realized something. Arjuna was on his way here, Carbuncle was trying to prevent them from escaping, and the Prime Minister is the leader of a cult dedicated to Mahika.

That meant there was an entire capitol that was in danger of being torn apart the moment Arjuna arrived. No one would order a mass evacuation! They were all doomed!

Unless...

Kain hated what he was about to do.

"Haha!" He gave off his best intimidating laugh and pointed dramatically over to the family. "I am the leader of the Mataki! And we finally declare war on the people of Veronica!" To sell his performance, Kain destroyed a nearby vase—why was there dirt in it?

"My mother's ashes! NO!" The mother cried out. Kain inwardly winced before he picked up the couch and lifted it over his head. That finally signaled the family to flee for their lives.

"That might cause a panic, but hopefully it scares people to action so they won't get killed by Arjuna. Now, how do I get more people to evacuate?" Kain's thoughts were put on hold when he heard the sound of something flying right for him.

It was the sound of Dyst coming in and unleashing another telekinetic force that propelled Kain through several more buildings.

To some of Kain's fortune, his battle with Dyst made everyone believe the family that claimed the Mataki were attacking.

"Finally! We got our magic back!" Natsu raised his flaming fist.

"What's our next move?" Max asked as he looked around.

"Kain and I talked about a potential escape plan before we came here!" Levy quickly took out a map. "Okay, to the north of the city, there's a mountain range that's around 300 miles away. Incase—when things get bad, Kain wanted us to steal a magic-powered cart in the northern end of the city and drive out this road."

"We're going to steal a cart?" Lucy looked at her best friend in shock.

"Lucy, we attacked the Prime Minister, probably made ourselves enemies of the state while trying to stop an evil god from reviving, yet you're appalled that we're stealing a vehicle?" Éclair asked in disbelief.

The celestial mage gawked for a second. "I am having the weirdest sense of Déjà vu."

"Do the others know about this?" Carla asked as she flew to the air with Momon and Happy.

Levy opened her mouth, "Yes, they should be meeting us there."

"Move!" Bisca suddenly yelled. Everyone moved on instinct and avoided being crushed by Cannon, who landed with the force of a meteor.

Natsu unleashed a potent Fire Dragon's Fist right for the bulky man. Even though the impact of the attack caused a shockwave, Cannon didn't even budge from the blow. Natsu was surprised his attack did nothing to his opponent, but then Cannon seized the dragon slayer's head before slamming him to the ground.

Bisca responded fast and drew out a sniper rifle. However, it vanished the moment she brought it up. She sensed a spike of magic and noticed one of Carbuncle's mages with her hand raised to her. Coordinator summoned a spear and attempted to run the weapon through the sniper's head. Yet mid-air, Coordinator shifted her lance to block a magic blast that sent her away from harming Bisca. Bisca jumped back as Lucy jumped in with her Leo Star Dress.

Lucy fired several magical blasts. However, Coordinator dodged each blow and kicked Lucy in the stomach.

"You," Coordinator exclaimed as she looked to Lucy. "You're the celestial mage, aren't you?"

Lucy changed into Cancer's Star Dress and wielding dual blades in defense.

"Centuries ago, I was careless and let a Celestial Mage defeat me. She summoned the Celestial Spirit King who ensured that the great Mahika would remain in his unholy prison." Many felt the spike of magic power coming from Coordinator as her anger rose. "I must thank you, girl. I have a chance to absolve my greatest sin."

With speed greater than before, she rushed at Lucy, forcing the blonde girl to parry her lance with Cancer's blades. One didn't need to be a genius to see Lucy getting overwhelmed quickly.

They heard the sound of a howl. Coordinator jumped back as the head of a wolf tried to bite her neck.

"Wan!?" Lucy cried out before the glasses mage ran around her and turned his hands into two stone wolves.

Down below, Cannon overpowered Natsu and threw him through a cart and a house.

Cannon was about to turn until a powerful blast of wind hit him dead on his chest. However, much like Natsu's attack, it did nothing to him. Wendy took a step back as Cannon stepped towards her.

"Oh no, you don't!" Max yelled as he aimed an orb of sand to entrap Cannon's head.

The large man reached for the sand. However, his hands weren't able to get a solid grip on the sand while he still suffocated. Instead, Cannon quickly stretched his hands out then slammed his palms together, creating a loud sonic boom that cracked glass within a quarter of a mile. While it made Natsu, Wendy, and the animals cover their ears, the force of the attack blew Max away into a wall.

Levy knew that the behemoth in front of them wouldn't go down with the firepower they had. Luckily, she had something with her that would help in this situation: Pierre's dagger. Levy slit her thumb then ran up to Cannon. The bulkier mage tried to punch the script mage, yet Levy slid under his punch and dragged the dagger through the ground as she did so.

When she finished sliding through, runes from the ground erupted and jumped right on to Cannon. The muscular man grunted and tried to throw the runes off him. However, his body soon slowed to a complete stop as the runes on his body started to glow.

"Whoa!" Max walked up to Levy while cradling his left arm. "Was that Jutsu Shiki? That was so fast!"

"Y-Yeah!" Levy answered as she held the dagger. "The runes say that anyone above two hundred pounds can't move."

"Hey!?" Natsu's eyes widened in realization as he pointed back to Cannon. "I could have totally beaten that guy without that script stuff! Let him out Levy so I can kick his ass!"

"No!" Both she and Max cried out. However, they then turned to Cannon and then gaped.

Black Sand flew around Cannon before it struck the runes like spears. As it did, the red runes started to disintegrate.

"Aww, come on!" Levy cried out while Natsu looked happy. The script mage looked up and saw Wan, Bisca, and Lucy struggling against Coordinator. At that moment, Levy knew what to do.

"Guys, we need to retreat!" She yelled before she hurried away from Cannon.

"Right, let's go!" Bisca cried out and fired a bullet at Coordinator's feet that exploded on impact.

Natsu didn't want to run, but he was outvoted—read as Levy dragging him away by the scarf—before everyone else made a break for it.

"I want to fight, dang it!"

"Give me a fight, damn you!" Gajeel tried to strike Chase, only for the ancient shadow mage to flip over his extended punch and land into the shadow of a post like it was a body of liquid.

"I can bring him up! You take him down!" Kage yelled as he dove into the shadows after Chase. Gajeel watched the two shadows clash before he slowly reclined his fist. He gritted his teeth when he saw Kage's shadow being pushed back.

However, a second later, Chase flew out of the ground with surprise on his face. Gajeel didn't waste a second and unleashed a metal punch that sailed the sky and smashed Chase near a park.

Chase landed with a slide. He turned to his left to see Nab stopping his run.

"Really!? You hit him near me!?" Nab turned and shouted to Gajeel.

"Why the heck did ya go that way!?" Gajeel cried out before running for Nab as Chase focused his attacks on the Fairy Tail Shaman.

Nab avoided several shadow hands attempting to grab him and by proxy the second staff piece of Arjuna. Instead, he took out his totem staff and slammed it to the ground.

"Borukium Sidk, Ole!" Nab cried out a second before the shadow hands reached him.

Then Nab sunk into the earth before the shadow hands could grab him.

Chase looked down before he trailed his eyes to the right to see Gajeel trying to attack him with another extended punch. The masked shadow mage sidestepped the attack but noticed Gajeel suddenly freeze. The forgotten shadow mage looked back to see a scared kid holding a ball in frozen fear.

"Uh, is anyone else worried at how our enemy is staring like that!?" Kageyama screamed out while he and Nab got out of the ground through their abilities.

Chase dashed to the child and seized the young boy into a shadow coffin.

The three men from Fairy Tail panicked and made a move to try and rescue the child. However, when they all moved towards him, Chase made the shadow bindings squeeze harder. The child screamed in pain which froze the men in their tracks.

Chase pointed an open palm in Nab's direction. "Staff." After that, he made the shadows tighten around the child.

Nab panicked but raised his hands out. "Alright! Alright! Just drop the—"

He didn't get to finish because a laser shot Chase in the face with such an angle that it hit the hand below the cocoon and freed the child in the same blow.

As the kid fell to the ground, Kage swooped in and whisked him far away from their opponent. Chase reformed his head and looked up. He faded into his shadow before Pla fell from the sky with the intent to crush the ancient shadow mage.

Gajeel ran in, but as he stepped forward, his sense of smell picked up something weird. His enemy's scent wasn't where Pla shot a hole through his face. He smelled it near...

"Hey! Headband guy, look out!" Gajeel cried out.

"Headband guy!? Do you not know my—" Nab was distracted with Gajeel not remembering his name that he didn't notice his own shadow rising and grabbing him into a chokehold. The shadow grabbed on to Arjuna's staff piece and then raced away from the Fairy Tail mage.

"I told you to look out!" Gajeel screamed as he chased after the Carbuncle mage and passed by the mage with elemental spirits.

"Why didn't you remember my name!?" Nab shouted back before pointing his totem staff. " Dergio, Anasi!"

"Dergio, Nabi!" The shadow spirit dove into the shadows as he and Kageyama pursued after the mage named Chase.

Pla turned to the child that Kageyama saved. The robot tilted his head and pointed away. At that action, the kind finally screamed and ran, not knowing the robot was only trying to help. Pla gave a few beeping noises before flying after the other Fairy Tail mages.

The Taj Ha Mall is a lovely tourist attraction made in modern times. It offers a variety of goods that truly exemplifies the culture of Veronica such as food, clothes, and ancient-magic-terrorists.

Truth be told, that last one didn't exist until recently. Fairy Tail would have enjoyed the place if not for that last item.

Except for Natsu. Even though he crashed through several stands, if you were to ask him, he would admit fighting aginst an ancient weapon mage sounded way more fun than shopping. And he wonders why Kain and Lucy don't usually ask for his opinion.

Now the reason why Fairy Tail was here was that Kain and Levy had enough insight (Kain's paranoia knowing something would go wrong.) to plan ahead. The mall rented out those magic-powered carts Team Valiant used during their escapade with Lullaby. If or when things went south, they would arrive at the grand mall and if they needed to, procure—hopefully legally—a vehicle out of the city.

While Natsu, Wan, Max, and Bisca held off Coordinator and Cannon, Levi and the rest tried to find where the magic-powered carts were sold.

"It should be around this corner!" Levy cried out as she led the group around one of the main paths.

However, as they all turned the corner, they stopped in their tracks. The reason for this was because there was a battalion of soldiers pointing muskets right for Fairy Tail.

"My dear friends," They heard the voice coming from behind the firing line. Several soldiers stepped out of the way and Ravanas Maricha, the Prime Minister, and the man who let out Carbuncle. "We never finished our tour. Though by the time it's over, Veronica will be leading the new world order!"

"A new world order!? Are you even aware you're brining a fallen god back into Earthland!?" Bisca shouted.

"Aware? My mind has been opened when before it was closed! Why don't all of you join us, friends?" Ravanas raised his hand out, but everyone saw his pupils looked more like vortexes.

Levy and the group stepped back, all while arming their own magic. "Fairy Tail doesn't join evil cults!"

"Hmm..." Ravanas took back his hand and placed it under his chin. "Is that your guild name? I think I've heard of it, from... Fiore... right?"

"I don't like how interested he sounds in our country and guild," Lucy spoke what everyone else was thinking.

However, an explosion behind them caused everyone to look over and see Wan thrown through a wall before landing with a roll. Natsu and Max followed after him before Coordinator and Cannon walked through the dust cloud. Even though it was two versus three, the Carbuncle Mages looked to be in better shape than the Fairy Tail members.

If that wasn't enough, the ceiling above them collapsed and Fairy Tail panicked a bit when they saw Kain fall through the roof like a dropped sandbag.

"K-Kain!?" Levy cried out. "Are you alright?!"

The armored young man sat up straight. "I WAS FIGHTING A SITH LORD THE ENTIRE TIME! FIRST GRIEVOUS NOW A SITH!? IF I FIGHT A DARK VADER-ESQUE ENEMY, I SWEAR I WILL DO SOMETHING DRASTIC!"

No one understood him. No wanted to understand what Kain was complaining about this time, nor did they have the time as Dyst levitated down from the sky with the blades primed around him.

"Where is Chase?" Dyst asked before his shadow moved out and transformed into the other masked mage.

"Staff." Chase declared as he bowed and took out Arjuna's second staff piece.

Fairy Tail panicked when they saw the second piece of Arjuna's staff fly up to Dyst.

"And with this, we are one step closer to achieving Arjuna's great vision!" Dyst cried out as he made the staff float above his head. When he did, the sky above turned blood red as it did so in Villish.

"Lord Arjuna's presence draws near," Dyst exhaled in what looked to be relief. "Soon, the world shall be as it was truly meant to be."

"However, you all won't live to see it." Ravanas raised his fist as his soldiers all aimed for Fairy Tail.

Kain moved first. He reached for his pouch and threw several spheres at the soldiers and Ravanas. They exploded with light that momentarily blinded them before the armored rider used the Omni Tool to sweep them off their feet by swinging a large staff at their legs.

"Get to the magic carriages!" Kain yelled as he cleared a path for the other members of Fairy Tail.

Natsu sped right for Dyst. He unleashed a fired powered fist, only for his punch to get blocked by several black sand blades. Chase blindsided Natsu and pinned him to the ground. Wan and Max tried to back up the fire dragon slayer. However, the other Carbuncle members charged to meet with them.

Dyst charged a telekinetic blast until he looked up to Kain flying right for him. He moved six blades to intercept the incoming wyvern rider, but his mind wondered why he seemed slower than before. He spotted Kain turning the Omni Tool into a shield—

BANG!

A bullet ricocheted off Kain's shield and knocked Arjuna's staff out of Dyst's hold and higher into the air. The leader of Carbuncle tried to reach for it but Kain sped past and sucker-punched Dyst to the ground. Bisca ran for the staff while the other three Carbuncle mages tried to get the staff first. However, Wan, Natsu, and Max were able to distract them long enough for Bisca to leap in and catch the staff piece before landing with a roll into a run.

Cannon broke free of Max's sand hold and ran for Bisca like a charging bull. Bisca panicked until she realized that Cannon's mad dash got interrupted when he fell into the floor as if it was water. When Cannon fell in, a familiar, brown Elemental Spirit jumped out.

"Disukarak, Ole!" Nab ran in, followed by Gajeel, Kageyama, and Pla.

The mongoose spirit scurried over to Nab with Bisca as Cannon busted out of the ground with a fist.

They felt a spike and magic and a second later, Kain was blasted to the floor near the newcomers as Dyst came out flying back towards them. Gajeel screamed and jumped in to fight Dyst while Kain looked to Bisca. "We need to leave! Now!"

"Do not let them!" The rest of Fairy Tail looked back to the sound of that voice. Ravanas and his men got back up and instantly fired on them. Kageyama acted fast and erected a barrier of Shadows to deflect their magic enchanted bullets.

The shadow barrier started to crack under pressure as Kain flew over to attack the soldiers. He rushed in for another attack, but to his surprise and horror, Ravanas caught his staff with one hand.

"That will not work a third time, friend," Ravanas spoke with the tone of ice-cold waters. Kain backed away before the Prime Minister's body started to morph until he grew five times the size of a human.

"Great, magic similar to Master Makarov's," Kain noted before getting out of the way of being stomped like an ant.

A free-for-all broke out with the remaining members of Fairy Tail along with Carbuncle and the Prime Minister's personal guard. A few minutes of blasts and bodies flying all over the place, the battle was interrupted by a series of musical honking.

To the surprise of many, a large bus-shaped carriage busted through a wall. Levy's voice shouted out from a window. "GET ON!"

Kageyama acted fast and used his shadow hands to pick up every other Fairy Tail mage except Kain and Pla. He shot a hand and grabbed on to the moving bus before allowing him and the others to get yanked by the fast-moving bus.

Pla and Kain flew after the bus while all of Carbuncle chased after them. The robot from Nirvana unleashed a focused laser that blasted the wall in front of the moving bus. Out of the smoke, the bus Fairy Tail accommodated landed on the road and sped faster out north.

Kageyama brought the other battlers atop of the ceiling of the bus and instantly, Natsu and Gajeel fell to their knees. Even though that happened, Bisca screamed and pointed back. "Incoming!"

Pla turned mid-air and fired a laser that exploded a boulder thrown in their direction. Out of the explosion of that boulder, Carbuncle, all flying in the air due to Dyst's telekinesis, pursued after them with great haste.

"Wendy, use the spell those two denied back in the train!" Kain yelled before he turned and bulleted right for Dyst to slow him down.

"Hey wait, does anyone sense that?" Kageyama screamed over the wind as they felt a spike of magic power not from Carbuncle. Instead, Kageyama got his answer as a fifty-foot tall man ascended from the mall and then locked his eyes over tot hem.

"Hey, is there any way we can escape faster!?" Max yelled as all of Fairy Tail noticed Ravanas starting to run over to them.

"Hold them off for three minutes!" Levy cried out before she looked to Lucy and snapped the magic bracelet on her.

"Lucy, you drive!" Levy said as she ran to the back of the bus while taking out something from her person.

"W-Wait!?" Lucy screamed as she had no choice and took the wheel. Yet... "How do I drive this thing!?" The former heiress wasn't exactly known for driving vehicles.

The bus swerved somewhat, which worked in Fairy Tail's favor as it helped avoid Ravanas' attempt to yank the bus off the road. Natsu, Gajeel, and Kageyama jumped from the bus and on to the hand before racing to the head of Ravanas.

The bus shook for a second and those on top noticed Chase had slipped past Kain and phased through into the bus.

Eclair gasped as she saw Chase coming right for her—then a window shattered the same time as Wan flipped in and performed a flying dropkick right into Chase's face and hitting him to one side of the bus. As the bus shook, Lucy yelped and tried to steer the bus away from a parked carriage.

Chase got up then blocked the head of a stone wolf from trying to bite his neck off. What happened next was nothing short of an elaborate fistfight between Wan and Chase within a closed space. Canine growls and shadow fists flew at each other until something wrung around the neck of Chase and smashed him to one end of the window.

Up above, the remaining Fairy Tail members were fighting against Coordinator, who had just landed on top of them. While doing that, Nab was able to order one of his elemental spirits to help out Wan back inside the bus.

Levy frantically wrote runes across the back of the bus while everyone and practically everything around her was fighting to the death. As she finished the runes with the help of Pierre's dagger, she opened up a nearby window and shouted out, "Gajeel, Natsu! I know you can hear me! Get Kain and come back to the bus!" She saw Gajeel and Natsu looking in her direction before she felt the bus shake and saw Chase ripping out some benches and attempting to crush Wan with several of them.

Wendy and Éclair were back at the front with Lucy and the other animals. Yet at that moment, Chase sent half a dozen shadow hands to pin down Nab's shadow spirit while another half dozen went for the immortal amnesiac.

Levy panicked until she remembered something obvious and slapped her forehead.

"Lucy, bring out Loke!" Levy screamed as she started writing a word in the air.

Lucy fumbled for her key while keeping her eyes on the road to prevent crashing into anything on the road. She summoned Leo and Levy screamed out. "Loke, I need light!"

Without wasting another second, Loke understood and unleashed a shining light from his fists. At the same time, Levy unleashed the word, 'Light' and the two lights shined at Chase and his shadow hands, melting them from a severe lack of darkness. Chase lost all his power and Wan took that moment to punch him with enough force to hit him out of the bus.

At that same moment, Coordinator looked to see her ally fall out of the bus.

"Duck!" Max yelled as Coordinator looked back— only to see darkness.

What happened was that Max, Pla, and Nab were getting nowhere against Coordinator. So instead, Max tried to do something else. When he saw the bright light from inside the bus, he knew the others were about to kick Chase out. His mind told him that when Chase got kicked out, Coordinator would be distracted for one second. He then motioned his sand magic up ahead and created a horizontal pole just above the height of the bus. He yelled duck, and both he and Nab did so while Coordinator slammed face-first into a pillar of sand that knocked her off the bus.

At the same time, Kain landed back in with Natsu and Gajeel and Kageyama appeared from under the floor of the bus.

Everyone heard the sound of what felt like a thousand screams, and as they all looked over to the horizon they saw a sea of black, giant centipedes running right for them. At the same time, everyone looked back to see Ravanas getting back up from Natsu and the others knocking him down. He stood up fast for a giant and didn't hesitate to reach for them again. Not only that, Carbuncle flew back with greater speed to catch up with Fairy Tail.

Kain screamed while everyone prepared for another fight. "Levy, whatever you're doing, do it now!"

"Everyone, hold on!" Levy screamed as she activated the runes around the bus.

Just as Ravanas reached for the bus, it suddenly sped off with a sonic boom, engulfing the area with dust.

Dyst forced the dust away, but to his surprise, he saw more dust in the distance. He flew higher into the air, and then, he gapped at what he saw. A speck, moving fast even though it was no doubt miles away from where they were.

He gripped his fist and unleashed a primal yell. "Damn you, descendant! I will ensure you are the end of your bloodline!"

Even though Fairy Tail was currently breaking the sound barrier, they somehow could still hear Kain complain something about not being someone's descendant.

"Roll Call!" Kain tried to fix one of the benches as Gajeel tried to patch up a wall on the bus they commandeered. "Are we missing anyone?"

After doing a headcount, the lawyer of Fairy Tail asked, "What about the staff?"

At that moment, Sonny appeared out of Bisca's hat and held up the second staff piece.

"So we got one of the staff pieces, what do we do now?" Max asked.

Kain took out something from his pocket, revealing a Lacrima orb. "Jeremiah said he'd contact us as soon as he found something. But seeing as it's only been a day, I doubt he's that fast. Regardless, we should take this time to sit back and relax. I have a nasty feeling the fighting is going to get a lot worse. Wendy, heal any injuries anyone has. Everyone rest up." As soon as Kain said this, he closed his eyes, and his head slumped near a window.

"Is-Is he sleeping?" Nab pointed at Kain.

"Come to think of it: he fought pretty hard today, considering he had to take on the leader of Carbuncle almost the entire time we were trying to escape." Bisca pointed out while petting Sonny's head. "I sometimes forget Kain is more of a pencil pusher than a fighter."

Gajeel grunted and looked away. "Damn! It pisses me off that a nerd like that beat me!"

"Hey, at least he beat you with that armor! He made a fool out of me without magic!" Kageyama pointed out.

"Hahaha! You guys got beat by a nerd!" Natsu, with all the tact of a face wart, pointed and laughed at his former enemies-turned-allies.

"What was that Salamander!? You want me to beat you again!?" Gajeel stood up.

Natsu was just as fast to stand up to Gajeel. "You never beat me, metalhead!"

Max sighed as the two started to bash heads against each other. "I missed it when those two were motion sick."

"You've done very well to survive against Carbuncle. They gave Horus and his generals a run for their money." Loke began. "Although to be fair, they're weaker than I remember them."

"Please tell me you're joking." The shadow mage asked the Celestial Spirit.

"I'm afraid not. They battled so fiercely after waking up from their seal. The next time you meet them, they'll have access to more of their powers."

"We should probably try and find some silver or something." Nab pointed out. "Several times in the fight, Carbuncle had help from the black sand surrounding them."

"That would be a good idea," Bisca added in. "We're especially going to need it when we face Arjuna and his army of sand centipedes."

At that moment, everyone heard the sound of ringing. They all looked to Kain, who seemed annoyed that he woke up. He took out the Lacrima Communication Orb and asked, "Hello?"

"BRAT!? WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO!?"

All across Veronica, there was a message sent by a powerful messaging spell.

"People of The Principality of Veronica! This is your Prime Minister, speaking to you! Do not be alarmed! However, it is with a weary heart that I reveal to you that our Capital has fallen! The Mataki have decimated our city in a fearsome attack! Worst of all, they have allied themselves with a guild from a neighboring country known as Fairy Tail!"

"These heretics are being supported by those who claimed to be our allies! But they have chosen their enemies poorly! I hereby declare war on the Kingdom of Fiore! We shall show our enemies the true spirit of our country!"

"BRAT! WHY THE HELL DID THE PRIME MINISTER OF VERONICA DECLARE WAR ON FIORE AFTER SAYING FAIRY TAIL ATTACKED THEM!?"

Kain wished with all his heart that he was still asleep and that maybe he wouldn't wake up this time.

"I know this sounds bad, Master Laxus," Kain found himself saying, "but trust me, it only gets worse from here."

Little did Kain know, that applied to their future as well.

{Author Notes}

This was so hard to write for some reason. But Yeeaa! This chapter is done!

What better way to mark the 50th chapter of this series by having Fairy Tail accidentally cause an international incident and incite a war between two countries.

I'm kinda disappointed in myself because this month of November, I really wanted to write because it's supposed to be a month for writers. However, I've been busy, tired, and had a horrible case of writer's block.

Still, it's not going to stop me. I'm too stubborn to admit defeat.

See you guys soon. This arc should be over soon.
