Chapter1
'...' Thoughts "..." Dialogue
3rd Person POV
To say Reinhard was confused was an understatement.
He was attending to his Lady Felt as she ranted to him all of which she planned to do to all the stuffed up nobles that caused her and Rom to live in the run-down slums. This was a daily occurrence, but Reinhard did not complain at all.
He thought he would put an end to her rambles and have her get through her daily routine. However as he was about to respond he found himself in an entirely different setting. Unlike the very lavish manor he was just in, he was standing in the middle of a field. To one direction of him was an incredibly dense forest. Reinhard was also able to see a village close by.
'Where am I?' Reinhard asks himself, unsure of what just happened. 'Was I attacked with a spell capable of transporting me somewhere? If that is the case why didn't my Divine Protections stop it?' Reinhard began to reason there had to be no harmful intent if such a spell was casted at him, otherwise it would have been stopped.
Needing answers, he ran off to the nearest settlement, the village near the forest. Though the village was in his eyesight, it was still a good ways away. Fortunately for Reinhard such a distance could be crossed in seconds. Using his inhuman levels of speed he arrived at a disaster.
The villagers were being murdered by people in knights uniforms. The villagers called Reinhard, noticing the unexpected appearance of someone, they could only hope is help. The knights that were slaughtering villagers, turned to look at the sudden arrival of someone that was not there a mere moment ago.
"Stop! I will not allow you to harm anyone else!" Reinhard knew when he laid eyes upon the knights that their intentions were nothing but malicious and that the villagers were innocent.
"And who are you to order us?!" The knights turned their mounts toward the red haired man, in a position to attack.
"My name is Reinhard van Astrea, and in the name of my lady Felt, I will stop these heinous acts now." Reinhard gripped the hilt of the spare sword he was carrying on him, the Dragon Sword Reid would most certainly not be necessary to take on foes such as these knights.
Before the knight on the horse could respond an ear piercing scream came from the other side of the village. Reinhard could sense a dangerous threat from where the scream occurred and without much of a word, he knocked the man off his horse and made sure he wouldn't wake up for a while.
What Reinhard saw was disturbing to say the least. The scene in front of him included a large black boned skeleton with a shield and sword reeking havoc upon the knights. That wasn't exactly the disturbing part. The real freaky thing was when it started to impale someone who seemed to be the leader of this horrid bunch over and over and over again while the man begged to be saved.
'Should I take action? The knights are clearly doing atrocious and despicable things, but do they really deserve to be slaughtered like sheep at the hands of a monster?' Reinhard had an ongoing debate in his head while the other knights attempted to slay the undead. Their effort did little good as the undead tore through them with seemingly no effort. Suddenly a booming voice from above the village echoed.
"Death Knight, that's enough." Everyone, the remaining knights, villagers, and Reinhard looked up to see two figures floating in the sky above them. One, a female clad in black armor and an equally black weapon. The second one, the one who spoke, had purple robes and a red mask. Reinhard was very confident in his ability to judge people's abilities and power. 'These two must be on the level of a Sin Archbishop.' Reinhard assessed. The figures came down from the sky and he greeted them all.
"Nice to meet you all. I am Ainz Ooal Gown. I'll have you all return alive and tell your owner of this! Next time you bring trouble in this area, I will bring death to your kingdom. Go! And be sure to tell everyone my name!" The knights, so rattled with fear, dropped their swords and ran as fast as they could. Reinhard was being very wary of the man but decided to approach him.
Ainz calmed down the kneeling villagers and noticed Reinhard walking towards him. "If you are another knight of whatever kingdom that was, leave, or I will spare you no mercy." It was difficult to tell what he was thinking because of the mask, but he had not lied or Reinhard would have picked up on it.
"Luckily, I am not one of them, my name is Reinhard van Astrea, Sir Gown. I came to this village looking for information and arrived when it was in terror. I am glad you thought to help these people out when I arrived a bit too late to save everyone." Reinhard replied with his usual modesty and respect towards the other party.
"It is of no problem Mr. Astrea. Are you perhaps a noble or knight of the kingdom this village belongs to?" Reinhard thought over the question. Reinhard has been all around Lugunica, although he has never been outside of it. 'I've never seen or heard of a village like this one, or seen any banners that resembled what was on the shields of those knights before. Perhaps I am beyond the great waterfall.' Reinhard thought to himself.
"While I am the son of a noble and a knight, I am not one of the kingdom we are currently in. In fact, I don't know which kingdom we are in. Sir Gown, pardon me for asking, but are you able to use magic?' Reinhard hopes that if he is, he can maybe answer some questions. 'Margrave Mathers is the best magic user in Lugunica maybe he would know something about transportation magic if it exists?'
"I am indeed a magic caster, is there a reason you asked?" Reinhard could tell that Ainz was growing weary of the Sword Saint. So Reinhard had to be direct.
"Do you by any chance know any spells that could transport someone against their will, specifically to a different world?"
A/N: First chapter done. I had this idea in my head for a while now. I had originally thought about having Subaru instead of Reinhard, but I am not experienced in writing considering this is my first fanfic. Thanks for reading!
