Author's notes: So I accidentally fucked up Summer's weapon's name. So from now on her scythe would be called Harvesters instead of Harbinger since that was Qrow's weapon. And as for our mc don't worry he won't be a human at all in the future. He would get some humanoid forms which would be closer to dark souls bosses kind of humanoid. Without further ado, here's the next chapter. Oh and if you're confused about how sometimes the mc can deal damage against enemy with Def higher than his Atk, that's because it only applies at their armored areas and he happens to hit the unprotected ones. And since Onyx has the system which already defies Physics, his Def is applied all over like a force field meaning his Def will always apply wherever he is hit. PS: Mc eats and sleeps for the sake of his own sanity rather than necessity.

You gained the skill Alpha form: evolve into an alpha beowolf with more various abilities and skill trees potential. Accept/Decline?

Fuck yeah, finally some good fucking news. Of course I'm accepting, being a beowolf can only bring me so far, unlike humans each Grimm has their own growth limit. Beowolf turning into alpha and Ursa turning into Ursa Major and whatnot. So naturally I accepted.

Confirmed, undergoing changes now. This process might hurt.

Wait what? *crack* OH JESUS *crack* IT HURTS SO BAD! LEGS AREN'T SUPPOSED TO BEND THAT WAY! *squelch* AAAAAHHHH!

And for the next 30 minutes I laid there on the ground rolling and crying like a newborn baby until it starts showing some signs of completion. As my shoulders lock back into place again and my joints aren't complete jelly anymore, I crawl to the nearest puddle I can find to see the changes.

Overall, I have gotten bigger as I'm now about 4 inches taller than before and my limbs are approximately 10% thicker. Additional bone spikes have grown along both of my arms and back with a new set of bone plates forming at where my chest and ribs are. What weirded me out is how my face or snout has gotten longer as well for some odd reasons. Other than that everything else stays the same except for how my tail feels fluffier which I don't think would matter much.

I wonder if this affects the stats in any way at all? I open up the menu again to see if it was cosmetic or tactical change and was fairly surprised at the increase.

You gained the skill dark energy beam(100 Ap per shot): channels your power and condense it into a precise attack that ignores the target's armor. DMG = Total of all stats.

I would be celebrating but I still feel weak. If judging by dark souls standard then the first boss is nearly 6 times weaker in terms of durability and 20 times weaker in raw power. And I'm not even close to being as tough as the Ravager while Salem's stats are indisputably way above the thousands.

But until them I'm going to abuse this slight advantage to bully lesser enemies with stunlocks.

Hmm Wis, Luck and Int didn't increase as much which kinda makes sense. Being older doesn't necessarily mean being smarter. Luck is just luck so unless there exists a leprechaun Grimm for Irish luck then it's all up to my preferences to decide what it should be.

There's also this other skill, let's see what it's about.

You gained the skill lesser Grimm dominance: You have proven your prowess and might against an Overboss Grimm and now have earned control of the territory on Patch. Lesser Grimms such as Creeps, Beowolfs and Boarbatusks recognize you as their superior and generally avoid you. You can also gain control over a pack of Grimms by defeating its leader or you could make your own lesser Grimms using Grimm essence that will follow your every command.

-Create Beowolf cost 5 essence points

-Create Boarbatusk cost 7 essence points

-Create Creep costs 2 essence points

Oh ho ho! I can finally make a reply to "You and what army?". If I gather enough minions then Atlas' androids and ships shouldn't hinder my progress too much. Then again they will have that gigantic fucking mech that can lay waste to a lot of things. I'm gonna need a leviathan under my beck and call by then.

Now that I give it some thought, I don't think using an army to kill Salem is viable as she can summon Grimms the size of cities like the fucking wyvern.

*rustle* *rustle* The hell? More Grimms? Out from the shrubs at the edge of the boss fight, still untouched by the shockwave and laser, came 9 beowolfs. 9 VERY familiar beowolfs that I recognize as part of Ravager's pack. My health might not be in that great of a position but I can hardly care. Their Atk is 30 while my Def is 41, they're practically helpless.

I crack my knuckles, ready to sock the first dumbass in the face when all of them suddenly…bow? Oh wait I'm their leader now since I killed Ravager. This looks a little weird for them to be bowing like that so I order them to stand upright again to which they comply immediately.

I should finish making the beowolf set for that sweet bonus. But first, I haven't eaten anything in a while… I glance at the 9 obedient beowolfs and an idea pops into my head.

{Xiao Long-Rose residence, 3rd pov}

*Ring* *Ring* *Ring*. Qrow's scroll as the name shows the caller to be none other than professor Ozpin. Several minutes later, Qrow comes staggering out of the bathroom and picks it up setting to face time as usual. He knows that if Ozpin is calling then something important is coming up.

The screen flickers to life revealing Ozpin sitting at his desk looking over some files with his assistant Glynda Goodwitch standing by his side.

"Ah Qrow, I'm afraid something rather troubling has come up an-." Ozpin cuts himself off as he fully takes in Qrow's current state as his face is littered with cuts and bruises and he is wearing a cast over his right arm.

"*sigh* Another bar fight Qrow? Really?" Glynda pinches her nose while addressing the drunk huntsman. To which Qrow started looking uncomfortable which proves unusual as he always boast about bar fighting instead of…whatever it is he's doing.

"Yup, another bar fight, nothing much." Qrow replies though Ozpin can detects the slight quiver in his voice but decides to not pry.

"You're one of the best huntsman there is and you get yourself wounded in a bar fight out of EVERYTHING?" Glynda however presses further but Qrow still shows no sign of giving in.

"Alright alright I get it, bar fight bad and irresponsible, can we please get on to the subject at hands." And now both headmaster and secretary was wondering if the Qrow in front of them is the real deal to be actually eager to work.

"Very well, but first can you please call Summer and Tai, this concerns them as well." Ozpin politely asks Qrow to which he walks off-screen for a few minutes before coming back with Summer and Tai.

"What's all this about Oz? I'm pretty sure there's no major Grimm invasions at this time of the year, usually those come in the middle of Grimm season." Summer asks Ozpin while cleaning Harvester.

"You're correct Summer as what I'm calling you about is something else entirely, Glynda if you would." Glynda then brings out her scroll and presses a few buttons as another screen pops up showing to be a security recording of an area near Patch. What's worrying is that the recording seems to be from 2 hours ago.

"Ummm what are we looking at here?" Tai asks Ozpin clearly confused as to why they're all watching an empty forest clearing.

"be patient Tai, keep watching." Ozpin replies while sipping coffee out of his signature mug. Everything was still peaceful for about 2 minutes before they could hear something approaching the area. It was an average boar trotting in as it starts eating some mushrooms on the ground.

And so they watch what looks like an episode of National Geographic for about 5 minutes as Qrow starts getting impatient. Right before Qrow snaps at Ozpin, more rustling came and this time it was a beowolf. They watch closely as the beowolf approaches the boar…and fucking ripping its head off.

"WHAT THE HELL!" Tai exclaims seeing the bizarre sight in front of him.

"That is what I wanted to talk to you about. As you already know, Grimms don't need to eat and has been observed to neutral with the wildlife only attacking humans and faunus." Ozpin explains to the three.

"Okay that was extremely weird but where do Tai and I fit into this." Summer asks as she is slightly disturbed at the sight of the headless boar.

"You see I initially assumed that the Grimms may have evolved and now need nourishments like normal living beings. In which case I would've have Oobleck or Port look into but that isn't what this is. Look at the footage again." The three listen Ozpin and look at the video again. The beowolf after killing the boar didn't eat it but instead drag the carcass out of sight.

"That beowolf clearly didn't need to eat the boar and yet still killed it. It killed the boar for something no…someone." Ozpin says as Glynda begin putting up more documents on the screen.

"Is that our report of Lily's accident?" Summer asks as she clearly recognizes the horrible handwriting of Tai.

"Indeed Summer, Ozpin and I came to a conclusion that the strange beowolf in the report might have something to do with what we have just seen. Whether or not that was the same beowolf isn't clear but that's our only lead at the moment." Glynda briefs the situation to them.

"There's also a possibility that whoever is behind this might be the queen's pawn." Ozpin suggests but was cut off as Summer suddenly slams the table startling everybody as Qrow winces.

"LUCKILY…that isn't the case." Summer says resisting the urge to punch break Qrow's jaw.

"Care to explain Summer?" Ozpin inquires. "Last night, because of a certain alcoholic bastard…" Summer lightly(very hard) slaps Qrow. "Ruby was left alone at home and she accidentally locked herself out. Then a she met a beowolf and fell asleep on it. I'm 90% sure that it was the same one and if it was indeed Her pawn than Ruby would have been a goner." Summer retold of what happened as Glynda and Ozpin finally realize where all of Qrow's wounds came from.

"That is quite fortunate. If that beowolf wasn't one of Her pawns then that has just raised even more questions. I'll ask Ironwood if there has been any experiments that might have led to this being, I want you three to scour Patch of its whereabouts. Glynda has already sent you the coordinates of where the footage took place, follow the trail where the beowolf dragged the boar." And with that the transmission ended.

{back with Onyx, nighttime}

*crackle* *crackle* *sniff* Now that's a fine pot of stew. My beowolfs have just gotten back from their hunting and since I told them to catch one boar without specifying one in total. They brought back 9 boars in total which I had to personally carve out a gigantic stone pot to cook.

It would be a waste not to eat it but it's too bland for me to eat alone without feeling sick. I toss roughly 800kg for them to eat to which they completely devour under 20 minutes. Now that I think about it…do Grimms need to eat at all?

Maybe my hunger time to time is just a coping mechanism so I don't go insane. Still though *sip* At least I can still taste it.

Now that I have some time to myself, I laid out 40 beowolf pelts onto the floor and cast craft. While waiting for the process to finish I mull over the lesser Grimm dominance. According to it there's a total of 7 types of Grimm essence. Lesser ones which gives 2 essence points each, normal which gives 20, greater ones which give 100, mega ones which give 500, ultra ones which give 2000 and mythic ones which give 5000. There's also the 7th type being boss essence which depends on the strength of the boss but I'd rather make weapons out of those.

Ooh the crafting finished. From the pile of pelts I left before laid basic black leather armor which isn't much of a surprise. The only odd one sticking out is the helmet which is a basic army cap with wolf ears. That's odd but then again my ears do lack bone plates so that's not all bad.

-Beowolf cap: A part of the beowolf set made from basic pelts. Fully completing the set grants the buff "Bloodthirsty" granting the user a 20% increase in stats for 10 seconds after inflicting the bleeding debuff on an enemy.( +1 DEF + 3 ATK)

-Beowolf armor: A part of the beowolf set made from basic pelts. Fully completing the set grants the buff "Bloodthirsty" granting the user a 20% increase in stats for 10 seconds after inflicting the bleeding debuff on an enemy.( +10 DEF + 12 ATK)

-Beowolf leggings: A part of the beowolf set made from basic pelts. Fully completing the set grants the buff "Bloodthirsty" granting the user a 20% increase in stats for 10 seconds after inflicting the bleeding debuff on an enemy.( +3 DEF + 1 ATK)

-Beowolf gauntlets: A part of the beowolf set made from basic pelts. Fully completing the set grants the buff "Bloodthirsty" granting the user a 20% increase in stats for 10 seconds after inflicting the bleeding debuff on an enemy.( +5 DEF + 6 ATK)

You have completed the beowolf set, gained the skill Bloodthirsty.

Aah I love the sight of progress. Wait a minute…1, 2, 3, 4…Why is there only 8 beowolfs here? What the fuck happened to the last one? I swore it was just there a minute ago.

I ponder on where the sneaky boi have gone off to or if I have miscounted when the 9th one comes from further in the woods and sits by the campfire with rest. I ask it where it was not expecting an answer but instead it telepathically shows me what happened.

Memory start-Now I'm looking at myself cooking 30 minutes ago which is more than strange. Then in the memory, this beowolf heard an extremely faint noise that must have gotten snuffed out by the fire crackling and it curiously followed the source.

Eventually its tracking led to a worn out trail that looked like it hadn't been used for ages. The beowolf's eyes darted around and finally identified the source being young Yang dragging Ruby on a small wagon. The beowolf deemed it unimportant and started returning-Memory ended.

[New Quest]

Late night mishaps

Description: Due to unknown reasons, Yang has gone looking for Raven earlier than when it's supposed to happen. There's no telling if Qrow would arrive in time so you take matters in your own paws.

Objective:

-Save Ruby and Yang

Bonus objective:

-Impress Ruby and Yang

Reward: Earned trust from Ruby, Yang, Taiyang, Summer and Qrow

Failure: chance of Ruby and Yang dying + canon gets derailed.

What scared the daylight out of me wasn't the fact that the events aren't occurring according to time. It was how this quest has a failure option. No way in hell am I letting that shit fly…

_Author notes: Right then, this chapter was made pretty much for plot development on Summer's side acknowledging Onyx's existence and the extent of Onyx's alpha form. Now I'm giving you some options on the direction where the story is headed.

A: Onyx saves Ruby and Yang before their family arrives and will continue to act from the shadows NOT DIRECTLY interacting with the main cast until much much later. This arc will leans on Onyx creating a 3rd party powerful enough to take on both Ozpin and Salem in the future.

B. Onyx saves Ruby and Yang right as the rest arrive and he would be forcefully taken back. Summer alone could already whoop his ass and combined with Qrow and Tai, Onyx will have no choice but to submit. This will lead to a conversation with Ozpin where he would conduct research on Onyx's condition (maybe with Atlas as well) while Onyx is to live at the Xiao Long-Rose residence being the family pet/the big brother both sisters didn't have. This arc would lead to Onyx being on Ozpin's side of the fight

C. There would be a C but then Onyx would join Salem. Considering how there has been no development of her having a good side left in there somewhere she would still be the Grimm queen we've grown to hate. Which means Onyx would never agree with whatever diabolical shit she is planning making the arc irrelevant. I could give this a shot if you really want to but then I will have to throw in another evil force. Ozpin is morally gray not full on evil, maybe there would be the return of the 2 gods or some demon worshippers playing the bad guy instead of Salem who would redeem herself in time.

Give those options some thought and I'd be busy for December studying for the end of the first semester tests so no need to rush.
