Well that could have ended a whole lot better but Ruby and Yang are safe and that's all that matters for now. On a side note though, me killing that racist on live television probably earned me some brownie points with the aggressive part of the White Fang. I should maybe stop Adam from becoming a fanatical serial killer but I'm not sure if he deserves Blake with him having the edginess of an Uchiha.
Well what done is done, Summer isn't in immediate danger yet not until about a year from now…or less if fate decides to fuck me over again. More grinding wouldn't hurt but first I need to improve my pack, 3 bewolfs aren't going to do much.
I then use 20 of my essence points to make 4 more beowolfs and save the rest for later. Creep is for recon and I have no fucking clue how strong a boarbatusk is to consider investing in it. Oh right speaking of essence, I wonder what the essence of the ravager would give me.
Adding just the boneshards would make it another melee weapon and I'm already dual wielding with the karambits so if I toss dust into the equation would that turn it into a gun? With the materials placed, the process took place as a light engulfs them all. However, instead of the plain white glow when I made the karambits, the light this time is blue just like the dust crystal used.
The result of the fusion is a large long barrel 8 rounds chamber silver revolver with the black engraving of the ravager itself on both sides of the barrel. It feels heavier than a standard revolver and the iron sight on this is too big to be used at long range. The slots seem big enough to load .44 rounds in them.
-Lunar Fang: A revolver made by the essence of the mythic alpha beowolf Ravager. Its toughness is able to endure up to 30 psi and the gun itself can also prevent jamming and rusting. Require 44 caliber ammunition to fire and reload but can also be substituted with 30 AP/shot. Weapon art 80 AP: Fire an explosive round and spawns a temporary beowolf that will dissipate after 3 minutes. (+ 105 ATK)
Now that, is a proper big iron. If only I have a wide brimmed hat to go with this…Woops getting off tracked again. I guess in the long run I should start making a base of operation. If certain extreme emergencies arise and someone is near fatally wounded, I can't afford to show up at the hospital with them which means I need my own medical facility. Oh and a potato farm wouldn't be that bad of an idea.
{At the gathering, after the event}
The remaining contestants are seen being treated by medics as Summer, Qrow and Tai arrive. Jonathan only had an ice pack for some bruises that his aura failed to block, Violet was explaining what happened to the local law enforcements. Fiora was bandaged thoroughly and is currently spacing out staring at the stretcher with Erik's body on it covered by a white veil. Tai decides to question Violet and Qrow along Summer pick up Ruby and Yang.
"So what exactly happened out there?" Tai begins bringing out his notepad.
"Well the event was going according to plan until we spotted your girls at the clearing for some reasons though you would already know that if you watched the broadcast." Violet answers mildly frustrated that the laser messed up her hair.
"Yes but after that we had to leave immediately to get here so we didn't quite catch what happened afterwards. So what went wrong?" Tai inquires.
"I already felt something was off when I got there. You know how Grimms are like emotionless killing machines right? That 'thing' was apparently killing its own kind without even laying single paw on your daughters." Violet recalls the bizarre occurrence.
"Actually, I may have an explanation for that though there's still some information missing. The 'thing' you saw was a rather unique Grimm that has recently been sighted. It has already saved the lives of Lily and Jasmine White not to mention how my Ruby seems to have met and slept with it like nothing more but a housedog. This is where things get strange, without a doubt that the 'thing' was the Grimm I mentioned but when we first saw it, it was a beowolf and now it has become an alpha." Tai explains shocking Violet.
"You mean to tell me that fucking beast can evolve!" Violet shouts in disbelief.
"There's no concrete evidences but it's likely, yes." Tai finishes his notes as Summer approaches holding Ruby in one hand while leading Yang with her other hand. Qrow also arrives with Jonathan in tow carrying Fiora.
"So was it what we think it was Tai?" Summer asks Tai.
"Apparently so if how it protected Ruby and Yang was anything to go by." Tai replies.
"You know what that means right? Ozpin told us to track it down the moment it harms someone. I wouldn't exactly consider Erik as a person with how racist of a prick he is but…" Qrow trails off taking a sip out of his flask to prepare for the long night ahead.
"Wait, let us come with you." Jonathan cuts in throwing everyone off save for Violet with Fiora who simply nod.
"Kid, that thing literally just destroyed you all. You may have aura but you're no huntsman or even huntsman in training, are you trying to get yourself killed?" Qrow asks unamused at Jonathan's bravado.
"We already gave it some thought and I think I speak for all of us here when I say that Grimm was not any mindless beast at all. You can't blame us for being curious about such phenomenon." Violet says staring down Qrow who continues to chug his flask not giving a shit.
"Well ok, just stick close to us, Qrow take Ruby and Yang home, you shouldn't be drunk on the job anyway, it's serious this time." Summer says readying her scythe.
{Onyx pov}
You know in retrospect this wouldn't be considered a good use of time for most other people but for me how can spending 4 hours gathering potatoes be anything but productive? The system can really bends the laws of pretty much everything so theoretically, somehow sometime during the future I would have the ability to turn potatoes into currency thus making it officially called Soviet gold.
Eh I'll stick to potato farming for now, maybe a vodka distillery if I have a lot of free time on my hand. I look back at the temporary base and it came off not too shabby compared to my expectations. Roughly 10m square log cabin completed with a roof, small porch, lawn chair and of course potato garden. It gave me quite a headache to manually command each beowolf to cut down the trees and carve them into proper logs as well as personally trying to make a lawn chair with hands the size of sledgehammers.
Oh fuck I forgot to make a bed. Oh well I'm not trying to split my brain in half with this migraine, I'll just use the pelts as a cot, admittedly they're quite fluffy. Oh right, gotta spend the rest of my AP first, it seems like it fully regenerates after a long sleep anyway. With 188 AP I should have enough for 5 rounds loaded into the revolver. Aaand sleep at last…
*crunch* *crunch* *rustle* the fuck? I carefully maneuver around the floor covered with my 7 sleeping beowolfs and look out the window through the leaves curtain. Dawn was approaching with the sun barely peeking from beyond the horizon and I know for a fact that the local wildlife don't hunt at dawn. Eventually I was able to locate the source of the commotion coming from right ahead of me and it seems to be multiple voices? Wait…they sound extremely fucking familiar.
"Are you sure we're heading the right way?" A female voice asks.
"Of course, I wasn't the top boy scout for nothing." A male voice replies.
"That's not really assuring you know?" A third voice speaks up which I clearly recognizes as none other than Ruby. But considering that this is the past then that must be Summer. Oh shit they're onto me!
The group of huntsmen walk out from the bushes consisting of Summer and Tai, but oddly enough no signs of Qrow and I don't hear any birds nearby either. Hey aren't those the three people I just beat up not long ago?
Oh and they all have their weapons with them, wonderful. Hmm it seems dark enough, now I just need to slowly and carefully sneak out the back.
{The group pov}
"Hey are you guys seeing that?" Violet asks.
"It looks like a hunter's cabin, but who on Remnant could be this far out into the woods?" Jonathan continues.
"This doesn't add up, no buildings should be this deep in Grimm infested woods much less a brand new one without any damages." Summer says drawing her scythe.
"This could be a criminal's hideout, everybody stay on guard." Tai says taking the lead.
"Umm, is that a potato garden?" Fiora asks pointing out the odd area.
"Huh, so it is…weird." Jonathan says taking a closer look at it as Tai gets ready to break the door down.
"Woah woah Tai you can't just bust down the door like that. For all we know this could actually belong to some hermit and we can get sued for property damage." Summer says stopping Tai.
"Why don't we just knock?" Violet suggests.
"Or just enter, I don't think the door is locked." Fiora says prompting Jonathan to push it open.
"Hello? Anyone home?" Summer says peaking inside.
"I think someone was here recently but looks like we just missed them, there's still fresh dirt on the floor." Tai begins examining the trail but his attention was drawn to the only furniture in the room. Tai used to go hunting with Qrow back in the days for fun and he caught quite a lot of games which he even kept a moose's antlers as a trophy. Never have he seen pelts like those though.
"Hey Tai, what kind of pelts are those, it seems…off" Summer says getting uneasy staring at the cot.
"I don't know, it looks like wolf pelts but no wolves on Patch have black fur and I don't smell any dye on it. It's almost as if someone just skinned a beowolf." Fiora's ears then pick up something as she stumbles over in surprise.
"What's wrong Fiora?" Jonathan says helping her up.
"I-It's a pack of beowolfs r-right outside." And with that Tai actually kicks down the door this time as Violet switches to her rifle. Abruptly she shoots into a random spot among the trees and managed to actually hit something. That something soon emits a pain filled roar.

Oh goddamnit right in the knees! I swear I could almost hear someone up there in the heavens making the I used to be an adventurer joke mocking me. *clomp* *clomp* *clomp* that doesn't sound good. HOLY SHIT! I barely dodge in time as a speeding fist flies past me and completely decapitates one of my beowolfs. The one who threw that punch was none other than Taiyang Xiao Long…and Summer has just killed off another beowolf of mine on the side as she plunges down from above with the others all pointing their guns at me.
Welp I'm really in deep shit now. Well considering that they haven't pulled the trigger yet I think that they're not exactly here to kill me so escape is still possible if I can find a way to outsmart Summer's teleportation.

WHAT THE FUCK! HOW ARE THEY THAT STRONG! Summer's stats compared to Tai is like comparing a genin's chakra reserve to Naruto's and Tai alone is about 10 times stronger than me. What kind of bullshit could-oh wait…silver eyes…aren't those extremely dangerous for me? Welp this is a fight I surely cannot win. Makes me wonder how broken Cinder, Salem or even Raven is for that matter. Qrow's not here so that's a plus I suppose.
"Guys uh, did anybody bring some ropes or a cage?" Summer asks the others.
"No I don't think we did, we have to bring it back by hand!" Tai says revving up another punch.
No way was I sticking around for that which is why I decide to hightail the fuck away from the group of huntsmen. *boom* Apparently, me being out of range didn't perturb Tai as he starts chucking whole ass trees behind me. The others can't really keep up so they resolve to suppressing fire. With a large distance between me and them, the only real problem is Violet's sniper while the others automatic weapons are too inaccurate to hit me. Oh and the other pressing problem being a certain scythe wielding white hooded woman coming closer and closer each time she teleports.
Well maybe it's my time to chuck random shit too, beowolf 5 I order you to ram into her. The Grimm obliges only Summer was too quick for its reflexes and she actually managed to get a boost by hopping off its head after putting a quick pistol shot through the skull. Well that went poorly… I look ahead to see a cliff right up ahead making me have to stop abruptly nearly stumbling over the edge as the other beowolfs failed to stop slamming into me. Summer has me cornered as the sound of Tai's boots draws closer.
"I have you cornered uh…do you have a name? Wait what am I saying? Come with us quietly or we'll take you by force!" You know intimidating and Summer doesn't fit in the same sentence and she looks rather cute saying that. Cute if not for how she can easily take my head off. I have no plans to be a guinea pig anytime soon for Atlas' (maybe) morally questionable experiments. I need a distraction so I took out Lunar Fang and shoot at her.
"Whoa!" Summer exclaims nearly getting hit, clearly not expecting a Grimm out of everything to have a gun.
She dons a look of shock as I give her a salute before diving straight down the cliff with my beowolfs. *BOOOOM* And that was the sound of me impacting the rocky ground at near terminal velocity…ow.

I quickly shake the dogpile of beowolfs off me and look up barely seeing Summer peeking over the ledge. This should give me a good head start. But I'm honestly too weak to consider running further. I round around a corner disappearing from Summer's sight in a sprint to make she thinks I'm running somewhere else before spotting a tiny cave to rest in. I can't wait to feel all sorts of sores in the morning. Oh and I suppose it's a good idea to let the beowolfs keep watch.
{Later, at Onyx's makeshift house}
The local police has arrived at the scene taking pictures of the odd abode. Tai has been pestering a detective for any possible information regarding this location. The other 3 being Violet, Jonathan and Fiora had decided to head home to think about all of the odd things that have transpired.
"Look I'm telling you pal we got nothing. No registered ownership of the land, no identifications not even bloody fingerprints were found!" The detective declares getting sick of being pegged by a grown ass man.
"But that's impossible, someone has to have built it, how could there be no fingerprints?" It was at this moment that the sound of bullheads drown out all other noises as a small group of them descend from the sky bearing the Atlesian military logo. The biggest one was the first to touch down and out walks General Ironwood himself.
"There better be a good reason for you dragging me all the way out here Tai." Ironwood says as his own investigation team examines the building. Tai is about to answer him only to be interrupted a confused Summer walking out of the woods.
"Um Summer what happened to the Grimm?" Tai asks.
"Have you discovered a new type of Grimm?" Ironwood asks suddenly getting more interested on the matter.
"Tai…I don't think that was a Grimm." Summer slowly says puzzling both Ironwood and Tai.
"But what else could i-." Summer cuts in on Tai.
"I think it's a person no…used to be a person." Summer states, surprising the two men further.
"What on Remnant gave you that idea Summer? I thought you don't like reading those fantasy novels." Ironwood says not believing her claim.
"Well for starter, no Grimm has ever ran away from a fight. And secondly, it had a gun." Whatever Ironwood expected Summer to say, that clearly wasn't it. Meanwhile Tai is wondering if Summer drank something from Qrow's stash before the mission.
"A Grimm with a gun? Don't be so ridiculous, what's next? You're going to tell me that this Grimm was the owner of that cabin?" Ironwood pauses as one of his men ran up to him frantically with the results from the unknown pelts.
"General Ironwood sir! There are no recorded data of any materials matching these pelts sir, what's more is that closer examination has shown that there were Grimm presence within the cabin leading outside." Summer widens her eyes as she remembers that's where they encountered the Grimm. Ironwood stood there unresponsive for a moment before quickly opening his scroll.
"This is General Ironwood speaking, I want a research team and 2 armed squads to be present at Patch immediately with lieutenant Schnee!" He quickly sends the soldier to collect the pelts before turning to Summer and Tai.
"I was wondering why the Queen has been so quiet for so long…Now I know that she had already made a move behind our back."

Ugh it feels like I'm having a hangover except instead of headaches I feel like I just got ran over by a train repeatedly. Yesterday was quite worrying in fact, now that I have a small bounty of my head, staying incognito is going to be a tad harder not to mention the minimum requirements I need to save Summer. She could probably easily destroys a wyvern with those stats so what in Lord's name did Salem use to kill her in the first place?

Huh would you look at that, I completely forgot that thing existed. I honestly cannot build a better base with even more limited resources than before now that I have lost 3 additional beowolfs during last night raid. Wait…since I've already had them do it before, can I just tell the beowolfs to repeat those orders? I try it with one beowolf to see it walks up to a tree, chopping it down before carving a log out of it. Well that makes this a whole lot easier, all of you repeat building the cabin like before, save me the headache from manually commanding them.
Grimm activities seem to have lessened, the woods are starting to get eerily quiet. Well grinding isn't the only source of exp I just need another side quest while I wait for the cabin to finish. And what better way to encounter one than meeting random Npcs or in this case, people. I shift back into the beowolf form and thankfully the heart wrenching agony was a one time thing and the process only took about 5 seconds. My stats are still the same oddly enough, must be because this isn't my true form and I'll like morph back the moment I take damage.
Oh well it's not like I'm getting in a gunfight or anything maybe I'll just visit the library or stuff, my hoodie should be able to conceal me now that I'm smaller, all I need to do is fix my posture so I don't look like a hunchback. Crack this joint here, a punch or two on the back and now I'm standing upright. No one should be able to tell who I am and if someone ask me something I can just act mute.

Ruby was dancing around excitedly as this is the first time she gets to visit the town's market. Yang was also thrilled but just not as much as Tai helps her put on her shoes. Summer grabs her purse and keys before ushering everyone to finish up.
"Everyone ready?" She asks one last time standing by the door.
"Of course we are but I must ask, why are we suddenly taking the girls grocery shopping?" Tai asks back.
"Well you remember the Alpha from yesterday right? Our investigation kinda turned into a home invasion and I'm pretty sure he would hold some kind of grudge. And he knows where Ruby lives too so I'm keeping my eyes on the girls as long as I can." Summer answers ruffling little Ruby's hair.
"Fair enough I guess, what happened to Qrow?" Tai inquires shutting the door.
"Something about Atlesian business, between you and me, I think the rascal finally scores himself a girl." Summer says locking the door.
"Ooooh, who do you think it is?" Tai, asks happy at the chance to tease Qrow.
"My money's on Winter though I don't know how she would react to that, she is almost as strict as Glynda and Qrow is the embodiment of disorder." Summer states already imagining some of the disastrous scenarios.
They continue on as usual with Summer buying ingredients for lunch and dinner with Tai browsing magazines with Ruby and Yang. Ruby of course is reading a weapon magazines marveling at all the designs and variety while Tai and Yang are reading about an upcoming boxing match, Ricky Balboa vs Mike Bison. Summer also decides to spoil her precious children a bit and told her to pick out something that they want. Yang found a great hairbrush with a matching golden color as her hair while Ruby's eyes instead of looking at the market stalls and all its trinkets…they were drawn to a familiar black hoodie among the crowd.

For a market on an island this place is pretty well equipped. I'd be lying if I deny drooling a bit at the aroma of fresh food but then again I'm here looking for a quest not a snack. Maybe I could head to the commercial district later and look for a gun shop, I need some .44 rounds for my revolver and maybe a paint job if it's not too pricey. Nevermind, I don't have a firearm license anyway.
While absentmindedly glancing around at anybody that could potentially use some help, I feel a small tugging sensation at my calf. What kind of kid walk up to a complete stranger who is suspicious as well? I turn around ready to see some kind of hyperactive child only to be horrified that I was right. Don't get me wrong I don't hate energetic children that much but it's the energetic little girl in particular that I'm looking at, Ruby Rose.
I look at the extremely small and adorable girl and then blink once, twice, thrice…she's still there and she's still looking up at me with stars in her eyes. What have I gotten myself into?
"Big doggy!" Small Ruby exclaims pointing at me. I got ready to fucking leg it out of there only for a new voice to join the conversation that strikes even more fear into me.
"What doggy?" Taiyang Xiao long asks walking over with little Yang sitting on his shoulder as well as Summer Rose by his side.
"Momomomomomom *gasps for air* Can we plsplsplspls get the big doggy?" Ruby pleads to Summer who just looks back at me confusedly... I could almost see the gears grinding in her head before she suddenly grins evilly.
"Oh of course dear, don't you agree to Tai?" Said man also gains a shit eating grin.
"Why yes honey, I think it'll be a lot of fun." Tai says as both him and Summer starts invading my personal space. TOO CLOSE! I DON'T CONSENT! By sheer luck and maybe God's work I spot my ticket away from the deadly huntsmen closing in at that moment, truck-kun. I slowly unclasp Ruby's tiny hands off of me before abruptly turning around and diving head first into the approaching truck. The driver panics and hits the emergency brake as the bystanders nearby cry out in shock. I wasn't actually aiming for the truck, I was aiming for the manhole cover beneath the truck as I slid it open and hop down. 3 hours of twists and turns in the sewer system before everything was silent and all I could hear is the slow flow of sewage water. A dim light shines from the end of the tunnel as I exit to find myself near garbage disposal facility. It seems to be lunch break as i can't see a single soul in sight. Without further delay, I run and run back to where the cabin was.
The beowolfs has finished building about 20 minutes before I came back and was laying around without me giving orders to them.

Damn that's quite a wide range of products. Let's see, I'm already quite well-equipped at the moment save for the ammo part so I'll buy a box of .44 calibers. With this amount of Lien on me I doubt I can afford any decent things so let's settle for some furniture which I bet is in the miscellaneous section. I could save some space by sleeping in a hammock outside, then I need a small solar generator for my electronics. I can't buy a laptop since it'd be practically useless this far out in the wild and a scroll would be an unregistered one in the system which would raise even more suspicion. Mini fridge, mini stove, mini oven and a lantern plus various cooking utensils and I'm all set.

{Xiao Long-Rose residence, 3rd pov}
Ruby as the quest has suggested, was quite disappointed that she couldn't keep the big fluffy black dog. Now she was sitting absentmindedly on the tire swing in the backyard. Yang despite being quite cheerful earlier now with some time alone laying under the tree, she begins thinking about Raven and eventually her mood got as sour as Ruby's the more she miser her mother. Summer at the moment was busy answering a call from Ozpin as much as she wants to spend time with her daughters.
The two yawn as it starts to get late and were about to fall asleep if not for the bush rustling. Yang paid it no mind, continuing to mope whereas Ruby curiously approaches it. She slowly raises her miniscule hands to push the bush apart a black unexpectedly grabs ahold of her. Ruby yelps in surprise catching Yang's attention who begins panicking thinking it was one of those black monsters she saw yesterday.
Ruby struggles to free herself from its grip but she immediately stops seeing who it actually was as a black hood pops up from the shrub. Yang also ceases panicking seeing the one who saved both of them from the Grimms last night. Onyx then fully comes out from the bush towering over the two girls but they weren't intimidated by it rather comforted instead. Onyx then reaches from behind him and magically pulls out a bag of cookies handing it to Ruby who squee in delight at the treats. Yang feels a bit jealous of her sister but that feeling promptly disappears as Onyx picks her up and let her sit on his head. Being able to pet one of the most fluffiest ears in exchange for not having some cookies is a win in her book. Eventually (9 seconds) Ruby finishes her cookies as Onyx puts her on his back and walks around the yard with Yang still petting his ears. As much as Onyx wants to stop Yang from petting him (because that technically means he likes being pleasured by a minor) he couldn't help but relent at her pouting the moment he tried to stop her.
And so he walks around for about half an hour and the only sound that could be heard were Onyx's footsteps and the faint chirping of birds as dusk slowly sets in. The simple yet calming activity has long since soothed Yang and Ruby as they completely forget about their worries before gradually dozing off on Onyx. Onyx chuckles noticing this and carefully set them back down together leaning on each other next to the swing before disposing off the cookie bag and heads back to his cabin.
{Onyx pov}
Well that was certainly relaxing in a way. I just hope that Summer doesn't start getting aggressive towards me for how close I'm being with Ruby and Yang. Actually knowing her, she might encourages it instead, if Ruby and Yang are happy then she's happy.

Author's notes: tests are nearly over and I only have 2 more days before I can get back to writing regularly. This chapter was meant solely for interactions with Ruby and Yang as well as Atlas joining the fray and the next one will contain all the exciting stuff like dungeon grinding and maybe another boss fight. Oh and much to Onyx's dismay, I'm giving the system a trolling personality that will develop overtime as well as Ozpin being a natural troll. I'm going to give Patch 3 to 4 more chapter before Onyx travels to another area, you can decide which one first as each has its own character focus, he will eventually travel to each kingdom so don't worry about it. Atlas (Winter and Weiss, no Penny yet) Mistral (team JNPR), Vacuo (Roman and Neo), Menagerie (Blake and Adam), actually Vale is not going to be an option and I'll save it for last when canon starts.
