YOU WAKE UP FEELING WELL RESTED, HP AND AP FULLY RESTORED.

[New Quest]

Adventure awaits

Description: Everyone knows how useful a dungeon is ranging from exp farm to loot. Since you're such a pathetic wimp at the moment, the system decides to gift you the location of a beginner dungeon.

Objective:

-Clear the dungeon

Bonus Objective:

-?

Reward: 500 Lien 350 EXP

Bonus Reward: Random low-tier skill

First of all, ouch you don't need to state the obvious System and since when did you get snarky? out. And the dungeon is…60 fucking km away…I really want to physically punch the System now.

{4 hours of running through the woods later}

After stumbling through the forest for hours, I finally managed to track down the dungeon which was not that impressive with the only thing visible on the outside is a rusty door leading into a cave. There also appear to be no Grimms in the area. Well let's see how tough this dungeon is.

You have entered a dungeon, you may not leave until you either clear the dungeon or complete the dungeon's objective

The moment I pass through the entrance, a fog wall similar to the ones that you would see in dark souls materialize out of thin air blocking the door. After testing the fog to see if it is truly impenetrable, I find another blockade being an invisible force field that seems to prevent contact between me and the actual fog.

Well it's just a beginner dungeon I doubt I would need to be worrying about it, come on beowolfs scout the way ahead. Time was really hard to tell when you're underground and I reckon I was wandering for at least 20 minutes before anything noticeable happen. One of my beowolfs picked up noises coming from one of the many dirt tunnels sounding like grumblings.

Investigating the strange noise led me to the source revealing it to be a typical goblin you would find in a rpg standing at an arch of stone which can only assume to be the actual entrance to the dungeon.

Level – 5

Hp – 90/90

AP – 0/0

Atk – 16

Def – 6

That is just sad. I feel like this was supposed to the tutorial area if these pests are weaker than a fucking beowolf. Or does this dungeon operate by the system standards of a rpg dungeon instead of a dungeon on Remnant? Either way, this is a a good chance to give my beowolfs a workout so…TEAR IT TO SHREDS!

You Gained:

-1 Lien

-3 EXP

Less than a minute of brutal mauling and chomping later, the goblin was reduced to a bloody pulp on the floor with the beowolfs devouring its remains with glee. There better be something stronger in this dungeon because I sure as hell ain't going to spend a day killing goblins. Why did I feel a chill down my spine like a medieval doom slayer had just glared at me when I said that?

{Much much later}

I grimace seeing the second of my title once again as I dump all the points into Dex. Japanese may not even be a thing on Remnant but having a title literally called "onii-chan" shouldn't be acceptable under any circumstances less you wanted to be hunted by the FBI. That said I'm pretty sure that skills tab wasn't there before. The System is probably developing itself alongside my growth.

Well back to the problem at hand…I AM FUCKING BORED! 90 goblins…90 MOTHERFUCKING GOBLINS! What kind of unimaginative degenerate made this shithole of a place and has the audacity to call it a dungeon? There is nothing here but dirt, rocks and stone with a metric fuck load of goblins. Hell, the beowolfs have been killing goblins for so long that they too are beginning to get frustrated with the seemingly endless horde of gremlins.

Kicking open a wooden door out of sheer annoyance, I was ready to punch the wall the instant I see another one of those green bastards. Only to find that there was nothing in the area but a hallway. Is this it? Have I finally reached the end of this mind numbingly mundane bullshit? Following the ominous darkened paths, the way starts getting narrower until I have to physically push the beowolfs to continue walking.

Finally at the end of the hall lays a singular door but what differentiates this from the other is that this one is metallic instead. *creak* *creak* The door groans as I forcefully push it open with its hinges seemingly snapping off from due to the rust accumulated over the years. A cold draft of wind blew from within the room scattering dust in the air as my beowolfs and I enter.

The only thing illuminating the chamber are the swarms of fireflies flocking around the center of the room accompanied by a hole in the ceiling with sunlight shining through. It takes either an idiot or a blind man to not notice how this looks exactly like a boss arena. What bothers me is that there are no enemies in sight.

My thoughts were put to a rest as the big boss himself makes his presence known. First came the rattling of chains echoing through the darkness then a pair of red pinpricks shine from the back of the room glaring at me. It gets closer and closer until its form was revealed by the limited lighting of the area.

Standing at roughly 3m tall, the abomination looks to be a grimm version of the lycanthrope which has its arms chained to the floor. It's definitely not a beowolf as far as I can tell from its abnormal humanoid posture and how its head lacks a mask. Its defenses are not so impressive with only a few bone plates here and there barely covering its body meaning that whatever this is, it's really fragile but probaly hits like a truck. Like the Ravager, this boss also has scars from previous conflicts ranging from arrows to metal shrapnels stuck in its skin.

The mad beast roars loudly tugging at its chain which becomes looser by the second before the decrepit metal finally gives in as the chains snap clean off.

Damned Soul Of Wrath

Level – 25

Hp – 3250/3250

AP – 0/0

Atk - 332

Def - 25

Well goddamn this bastard looks like the Ravager on steroids. I can only get hit by it 3 times before I'm near death. The beowolfs wouldn't be of much use fighting it either so I'll use them as a distraction while I dish out the damage.

Starting the battle off I have the 4 beowolfs run in the circle around it. The thing of course didn't take kindly to that and begins swiping blindly at the beowolfs as I get closer to it. If I start hitting it then no doubt that it would begin targeting me so what could be the best attack for the most dps? Hmmm…that might just work.

When I was a mere 30 feet from the boss, I pull out Lunar Fang gripping the trigger with my right hand while repeatedly hitting the hammer with my left hand. The fanning quickly delivered 8 shots onto the beast's back further enraging it.

Successful Hits x8 (148x8) = 1184 DMG

Damned Soul Of Wrath – 2066/3250

That was an outstanding move if I do say so myself…if not for the fact how I failed to account for the boss's speed as it near teleports behind me and literally kicks my ass across the room.

Suffered A Hit (332-66) = 266 DMG

Wasting no time, I immediately spring back up to reload Lunar Fang. Unfortunately, the boss was having none of it as it tries to interrupt me. It swiftly closes the distance readying a right hook aimed at me only to find that itself was interrupted as one beowolf latches onto its back and starts clawing.

Successful Hits x3 (30x3) = 90 DMG

Damned Soul Of Wrath – 1976/3250

While the damage was nothing but a mere thorn in the boss' side, I was still grateful for the disruption as I unloads another salvo of .44 into the beast's chest.

Successful Hits x8 (148x8) = 1184 DMG

Damned Soul Of Wrath – 792/3250

Of course, all boss fights aren't going to be THAT easy as the damned soul roars once more this time shaking the entire cavern nearly collapsing the roof. It clasps both of its paws together and slams down into the ground creating a massive shockwave that knocks me down onto my knees. When I got back up I noticed the new addition to the boss being a bright red force field surrounding it. What's more is that the field seems to be constantly damaging anything that comes in contact with it if the fucking floor melting below its feet were any sign.

With a shield that strong I doubt bullets can even touch the damn thing before they melt. The tables have turned as I'm forced to switch to defensive. My beowolfs now could only steer clear of the fight and hope to survive, I'm not going to risk any needless casualties if I can help it. Apparently, by keeping that shield up the boss doesn't have as much energy for other actions thus making it slow enough for me to dodge all its attacks. However, the shield wasn't the only that it was capable of and I find out the hard way when it sends a blade of lava towards me.

Suffered A Hit (500-66)= 434 DMG

Fuck this is bad, i need to find the damn weak point before it charges up another lava blade. Come on think, how did I defeat the Ravager back then? I did it by execution but that was when its guard was down…I need to find a way to break that barrier.

I roll away as the boss tries to crush me in an elbow slam, the continuous impacts from its attacks has severely weaken the cave's integrity as I now have to worry about chunks of the ceiling falling on top of me during a fight. Wait…what was that glitter just then?

Moving closer to the debris fresh from the roof, I further examine it to see yellow crystals mixed with the stone. That was uncut dust, uncut electricity dust to be exact. This cave must have been directly below a dust deposit!

Having made a game plan though a risky one, I switch to my karambits and stab them into the roof grabbing onto them while taunting the boss to hit me. The crazed monster did so but not before dislodge myself from there and takes cover behind a boulder along my beowolfs. That hit was the final straw as the ceiling collapses bringing down at least half a ton of raw dust along with it.

*BOOOOOOM* The elemental reaction between the massive amount of dust and the boss' shield has caused it to overload thus ensues a gigantic explosion. After the smoke clears, I peek out from the boulder to see the boss exhausted slumped down on the floor, time to finish this. I pull out Grimm Talons and begins hacking at each of its limb, from the calf to the wrists, ribs to chest repeatedly before drawing Lunar Fang jamming it inside the mouth and pulls the trigger. Black goop which I assume to be its brain splatter all over the walls as it gave one last pained grunt before dissipating.

Successful Execution 792 DMG

You Gained:

-1200 EXP

-675 Lien

-3 Grimm Essences

-Chains Of Subjugation: Near unbreakable chains made by divine blacksmiths of the old age to contain the most dangerous criminals and monsters alike. The chains were enchanted to absorb the prisoner's strength to reinforce itself thus making it near impossible for the prisoner to escape by themselves.

-Sinful Soul Of Wrath: Long ago there existed a powerful ancient demon so strong that it took a dozen of silver eyes warriors to take it down. After its body was destroyed, the soul was split in 7 pieces depicting each of its sin to prevent the demon from resurrecting. Collect all 7 shards and combine them to initiate the ancient demon lord boss fight.

I think I'll save those points for later if I run into some skills that requires higher stats. Those chains could be useful in the future but I can't think of any use for it at the moment so I'll just leave it in the inventory.

And the soul…do I really want to fight the demon lord? I mean yea there's a chance that it would whoop my ass and proceed to siege Remnant but hey someone has to kill it. Eventually some curious bastard or Salem herself is going to stumble upon the shards and summon it anyway. On the other hand though, sweet sweet loot.

That's odd…the quest isn't completed yet even though I killed the boss. Did I miss the bonus objective? Ah well I'll figure that out later, even if there is more to this dungeon I'm in no shape to continue down. I need a nice long nap and a bowl of m&m.

{On the way back}

This is eerily quiet. I know I'm in the middle of the woods but it's noon, there should be at least the sound of wildlife nearby. Something's off but I can't quite put my finger on it. The animals are clearly wary of something but as far as I know the area near my house is clear of the Grimms at the moments not that they scare the animals much to begin with. That means-!

Switching to my Grimm heritage I was able to detect 6 faint nervous signals right next to my location! *BANG* One beowolf suddenly has its head caved in as the ringing of a bolt action sniper echoes through the area. IT'S A FUCKING AMBUSH!

"Dammit you missed the target! Positions compromised, all units engage!" Came a commanding voice from the above as 6 figures drop down in front of me all wearing Atlesian military uniforms with a man in the middle wearing the beret being the leader of this group. That motherfucker Ironwood sent a damn hit squad on me!

Fuck that's some top of the line rifle they're holding, I doubt my defense can protect against 7.62 armor piercing rounds. Plus they outnumber me…let's change that shall we? I draw Lunar Fang much to their surprise, guess Ironwood didn't brief them on this little detail, and before any of them could open fire I used all of my AP to fire 16 consecutive explosive shots.

Like I guessed, all of them had aura and only sustained minor injuries from the barrage but that is the least of their worries by now. From within the crater created by the explosive rounds, 16 beowolfs crawl out which then join together with the 3 other beowolfs as well as the 13 new ones I made with all of the essence.

The pack of 32 beowolfs quickly overwhelm the squad as their rifles can do little to push back all of them. "WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS!" One soldier yelled. "We can't handle this many!" The commander shouts as he draws a flare gun and shoots it to the sky, not soon after the sound of bullheads draws closer to our position. Son of a bitch I don't have anything to deal with the bullhead.

I already went this far, I can't back off without dealing any damage. Eenie meenie miney moe AH HA! I order the beowolfs to press the attack as they pounce and shatter the aura of 3 soldiers while I myself went for a specific one in white. Of course all their uniforms are white but what makes her special is that armband with a red cross indicating that she's the medic of a squad. Without her, tending to the wounded would be much more problematic and it'll take longer for them to recover and resume the hunt for me.

The poor girl didn't have time to react as I throw 2 feral slash directly at her face quickly shattering her aura as well as knocking her out. I left the 16 temporary beowolfs to hold the rest off while the 16 permanent beowolfs and I carry the unconscious medic back to base. This day just keeps getting more and more interesting.

Author's notes: Sorry for the delay but I'm not good at writing action scenes so this took quite a lot of time to make. Anyway, the demon lord will be one of the many "optional" boss fights that Onyx will take on. I'm planning to make him OP in canon of course but I have to put in additional challenges that will make his growth understandable. If you have an idea for one of these boss fights then feel free to pm me and I'll consider putting it in if it's reasonable.
