"And for your outstanding performances in taking out these troublemakers I'd like you to have this." William says as some fellow police officers applause us while arresting the Tunnel Snakes member. He walks over to his cruiser and opens the trunk to reveal a large Lien bag.
"1000 Lien for completing your mission and 2000 Lien for the bounty on Andy Anaconda, well done lads." William hands us our prizes and has a firm handshake with Barry before cataloging the contrabands.
"To be honest I didn't think you boys had it in you. Sure you may have fended them off and lets us finish the rest off but singlehandedly taking on all of them and their leader? Color me impressed. Though with this over, what are you two planning to do for now." Mocha asks.
"I don't know to be honest, we might just wander into the woods to train or just take it easy for a while since we still have 2 more days before the café reopens." Barry answers.
"Give us a call if you're up form some jobs, gods know we'll need all the help we can get with the faunus tension rising." Mocha waves us goodbye as I mull over our next course of actions.

The way I see it Barry is perfectly capable of holding off on his own due to raw strength but it's not guaranteed if he doesn't have aura. I need to find a way to help him develop his form or learn some new techniques. Magic wouldn't be a bad idea if not for how dumb and impatient we both are. Oh well I suppose we could take the next day off, there's still 4 more shards of that demon lord's soul left out there too, I might have to look further into that.
"Do you wanna just head back and chill at home? I think we've done enough work and training for now." I suggest to Barry.
"Sounds good but what actually are we going to do all day though. I'm pretty damn sure Remnant has way different games than Earth, similar maybe but they would still be too different. I don't even know if they have something similar to Netflix we can watch." Barry asks back.
"You do realize that I have an interdimensional store where we can buy practically anything from anywhere right?" I deadpan at him.
"Oh right I fucking forgot about that, then I guess you can just pick out some anime and we can binge watch them." Barry says.
The trip back to the apartment was relatively uneventful, there are still some criminals scattered around but I don't they would be ballsy enough to try anything after we just take out what is supposedly the strongest gang here. When we made it back, Margaret was at the front pouring herself a large cup of coffee…in the afternoon?
"Hey Barry, I think something's wrong with Margaret over there." I point out to Barry.
"Uh hey miss…Are you okay?" Barry asks Margaret yet she still didn't respond.
"Um hello, anybody home?" Barry asks again, this time shaking finally snapping her out of whatever daze she was in.
"Huh what? Oh can I help you?" She asks drowsily like someone who hasn't slept in 2 days.
"You kind of zoned out a moment ago and why are you having coffee at this time of the day?" Barry asks.
"Oh it's nothing, I had a…nightmare and couldn't sleep much last night." Margaret replies and although it's obvious something was off I didn't press the matter anymore and head upstairs with Barry.
"I call dibs on the shower." Barry calls out, already making a bee line towards it. Let's see here, should I go for the classic like Evangelion or something new to mix it up? *AAAAHHHH* Was that Barry? I grab Lunar Fang and open the shower door to see what's wrong.
"SWEET BABY JESUS HOW THE FUCK ARE THEY HERE!" Barry screeches pointing to the sink where a group of malformed little white humanoids are popping out of. Aren't those the messenger from Bloodborne? Sneaking through a still screaming Barry I notice they have a small parchment in their hands wrapped in a blue ribbon. I unwrap it and was surprised to see who it was from.
Dear hunter,
I don't know whether or not this will reach you where you have disappeared to not long ago but Yharnam is in more disarray than it ever has. Something's terribly wrong with some of the Great ones and they are starting to take their wrath upon the lands. Please good hunter if you are reading this, return to Yharnam and lay it to rest for good.

"Barry we might have a huge problem on our hands." I say handing him the letter.
"Huh, well shit. Even if we want to go back, how the fuck would that be possible though." He asks me to which the messengers chuck some sort of white goop on the floor morphing itself into a portal.
"Well there's your answer, I'm pretty sure this is a side quest but no way in hell am I leaving some of them to die." I say, calling the 3 beowolfs to the bathroom.
"Some of them?" Barry asks me, changing into his hunter gear.
"*cough* beggar *cough*" I remind him of the asshole.
"Ah right, well let's see where this takes us Geronimo!" Barry says leaping into the portal to which I follow suit with my beowolfs in tow. Unlike the trip from before, this one seems instantaneously, one moment we were still in our room and the next second we landed in an alley. Wait a minute.
"Barry hold on a minute, something's really wrong with this." I warn him.
"What do you mean, I don't see anything here." Barry looks around us.
"That's the point, this is fucking BLOODBORNE, there's always something there to kill you and right now we're seeing nothing. It's too quiet." I continue to look around but still can't spot any monsters lurking nearby.
"Do you think it has anything to do with what Doll told us about?" Barry asks me.
"It's likely though I-" I cut myself short as my Grimm sense picks up a signal of despair and hopelessness not far from our current location.
"Barry someone's in trouble, they're up this ladder." I call out to Barry who wastes no time following me as the beowolfs scale the wall alongside us. On the top I spot our damsel in distress to be a woman lying down in a pool of her blood on a ledge below. Her skin pale, likely from blood loss while her blond hair is but a mess now as blood keeps pouring from a gash on her stomach tainting her blue dress.
"Barry I need you to put pressure on that wound now! I'll see if I can find anything in the store to help her." Barry silently nods. Scrolling through a list of healing items briefly I manage to find a standard healing potion. However, our lady is on death's door already so I purchase a greater potion instead for 200 Lien to not risk it. Almost instantly we can see the potion work its magic. The gash stitches itself together in a matter of seconds as her breathing becomes more and more stable with her porcelain skin regaining its original tone.
Slowly but surely she opens her cerulean eyes and look at us in shock before her gaze directs itself towards me instead. *SMACK* Although my Def has completely blocked the damage of that slap, I have still suffered some emotional damage. ;-;
"GET AWAY FROM ME BEAST!" She screeches while scurrying dangerously close towards the ledge.
"Barry say something damnit." I urge him to defuse this situation.
"Easy there miss, we're not her to harm you, now please move away from the ledge before you hurt yourself." Barry tries to calm the woman down.
"LIARS THE LOT OF YOU! YOU'RE A HUNTER ARE YOU NOT! WHY WOULD-YOU'RE ONE OF THEM TRICKSTER THEN, HIDING IN HUMAN SKIN TO CATCH ME OFF GUARD AND EAT ME!" She continues to yell accidentally tripping and goes plunging off the ledge. Luckily my beowolfs were there still latching on the wall as they catch her mid fall and bring her back up to us. Still confused and frightened, all of her words are too fast for either of us to understand so we have to give her a moment to compose herself.
"W-who a-are you people?" She finally asks with a slight stutter.
"I'm Barry Blue, a hunter as you might have guessed from my attire and my friend Onyx over there he's a uh…partner of mine, he's still very much sane despite his appearance. By the way, I don't believe we have gotten your name miss." Barry greets.
"I'm Viola Gauthier, pardon if I may sound rude but what exactly is Onyx, I haven't seen such a monstrosity such as him." Viola inquires still untrusting of me.
"That I don't know myself but I hardly find that important, he's helping me rid of the mad beasts and that's good enough for me. Do you mind if we ask you something *Viola nods* what are you doing out here at night?" Barry asks her.
"It's because of my husband, he's a priest that goes around helping people and keeps forgetting to help himself. Every day he would return bloodied and battered and I'm worried for his welfare. Today though he didn't return even after midnight so I grew restless and decided to seek him out myself." Viola explains. Then I notice one crucial feature on her, just below her neck was a red brooch. So this is THAT Viola, Gascoigne's wife, in the game she was long dead before the player makes it here, I guess fate really is thrown off-track.
"I take it that it didn't go so well, what has inflicted that wound upon you though?" Barry asks, pointing at where the gash used to be.
"I couldn't remember what it was since I had to run for my dear life. Something seemed unusual though, right before I made it up the ladder, I was sure that it'd catch up given how close away it sounded. Yet, someone-no…something attacked it and then it was just silence." Viola retells.
"Interesting, we were wondering ourselves why there were no beasts in the area, our culprit must be whatever that was back then. Now that you're all patched up, do you have anywhere safe to go?" Barry asks Viola.
"My home is still quite secure though I wouldn't put it past it for beasts to eventually tear it down, I fear for my girls would soon fall prey to them. I think I'd look for another shelter once I've found my husband either dead or alive, I-I just need to know." Viola was close on the berge of a breakdown as I pat her on the back to calm her down. Huh? Suddenly I heard shuffling coming from below us as I look onto the graveyard to see Gascoigne himself staggering in.
"Hey Viola, is that your husband over there?" Barry points to Gascoigne.
"*gasps* GASCOIGNE! Please take me down there, I need to know if he's ok." I was about to deny it given how dangerous Gascoigne is until Viola starts guilt tripping me with puppy dog eyes. Barry just doesn't give a shit to begin with and was already sliding down the wall there. Reluctantly, I have one beowolf carry Viola as we join Barry in confronting Gascoigne. He turns to us before laughing manically.
"Beasts all over the shop…You'll be one of them sooner or later…" Gascoigne says, brandishing his axe.
"Viola, get back I'm afraid your husband is-*BANG*" Barry was cut off by the sound of Lunar Fang going off, lodging a bullet right in Gascoigne's shoulder. Barry and I were both caught by surprise for the one responsible was no one else but Viola herself. What terrifies is when I look at her, I don't feel any anxiety, fear or sorrow…only pure fury. With lightning fast speed, Viola all but teleports in front of Gascoigne and bitch slaps him onto the ground.
"GASCOIGNE GAUTHIER YOU EXPLAIN YOURSELF THIS INSTANT!" She shrieks at him.
"Ugh wha-Dear Vi? I uh-*SMACK*" Viola slaps Gascoigne again while somehow lifting him off the ground by his neck.
"DON'T YOU DEAR VI ME DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW WORRIED WE WERE! IN A TOWN FULL OF MONSTERS THAT CAN EASILY RIP FOLKS IN HALF AND YOU DECIDE TO WANDER OUT AT NIGHT LEAVING YOUR FAMILY BY THEMSELVES?" Viola continues her rant.
"B-but my d-duties I-*SMACK*" Gascoigne gets interrupted again by another powerful slap from Viola,
"DUTIES? FUCKING DUTIES? MAYBE IF YOU'RE ACTUALLY DOING IT LIKE THEM *points to Barry and I* I WOULD HAVE FORGIVEN YOU. INSTEAD I FIND YOU HERE PISS DRUNK ON THIS DISGUSTING BLOOD SHITE!" Viola yells, chokeslamming the priest through the floor.
"WAIT UNTIL THE GIRLS HEAR ABOUT THIS. NO MORE BOOZE FOR YOU MR!" Viola screams while forcefully dragging Gascoigne away by his ear. The poor man is now as pale as a ghost who looks like he's about to wet himself at any moment. He silently look at us for help but both Barry and I decide that we don't want any of that and turn away, ignoring his pleads.
30 minutes later and we're treated to an even more bizarre scene. After making our way to Viola's house she offered us some tea while Gascoigne is being tortured in front of our eyes. His hands were tied to a pole and he has to kneel on a spiked board while her 2 daughters, Amelia and Victoria, stacks slabs after slabs of stone on his legs.
"Hey Barry isn't this somewhat of a fucking war crime." I ask him unsure of what to make of this weird family.
"Don't do anything rash Onyx or we might just end up like the poor bastard." Barry reply while calmly sipping tea.
"What did we learn?" Viola asks standing over Gascoigne with her arms crossed.
"Not to drink on the job?" Gascoigne asks in pain.
"Another slab girls." Viola orders as Amelia, the younger of the two slams one more slab onto Gascoigne.
"AARGH! AND NOT TO LEAVE MY FAMILY WORRIED!" Gascoigne cries out before finally fainting from the torture.
"Alright I think he's learned his lesson. I'm sorry you have to put up with my idiotic husbands' antics." Viola apologizes.
Barry starts chatting with Viola about the current situation Yharnam is in while I idly look at Amelia playing around with my beowolfs. Victoria is still wary of me but otherwise keeps to herself. Abruptly, a group of messengers pop up besides the table bearing a message.
Dear hunter,
Words have it that you have safely made it back here good hunter. I've already gathered some other survivors at Oedon chapel, please meet us there.
-Doll
"Well Viola I think we have just the sanctuary for you, the owner tends to be creepy a bit but he's actually a nice guy. Pack your things and we're off to Oedon chapel." Barry says after I hand him the letter.
"Give us a moment, come on Amelia stop play with the wolves and help me pack. Victoria, I want you to toss away all of your father's stash." Viola orders. At the mention of his stash of presumably alcohol being removed, Gascoigne wakes and begs for Victoria to stop while trying to break free of his restraints. This is just sad but I'm in no place to interfere. Not wanting to witness a man suffering any longer, Barry and I decide to discuss things outside of the house.
"By the looks of things, the disappearance around Yharnam seems to be caused by a Great One." I suggest.
"Though which one is the real problem. Most of them tends to be passive if unprovoked and the Orphan is just well, vibing at the shore." Barry says.
"Hey Barry do you think this is an alternate Bloodborne or the original one but changed because of our interferences? Normally Viola would be dead and then we'd have to do the depressing as fuck quest that ends up with both her daughters dead."
"I honestly have no ideas, I think we'd just have to see what else has changed to see if everything is that different other than Doll messaging us that is. Which makes me wonder what happened to Gehrman, if everything did go to shit then wouldn't it make more sense for him to call us. Either Gehrman has something to do with this or that he's somehow dead." Barry deducts. By this time the Gauthiers have already finished packing and they join us on the porch before bidding farewell to their home.
Gascoigne seems to have lost his will to live looking extremely dead inside while Viola is still cheerful given the circumstances. Amelia insists that she rides on a beowolf all the way and eventually convinces (begs) that Victoria also rides one. The older girl finally relents and seem to enjoy it as much as her younger sisters. I feel bad for the beowolfs since I can actually feel their genuine terror of having to carry such dangerous people.
Shortly afterwards we arrive at Oedon chapel and I give a few knocks on the door. We could hear light footsteps approaching the door and then the door opens to reveal Doll in her outfit though quite bloodied which is weird given that she can't bleed.
"Ah you've arrived good hunter, please come inside, we have much to discuss." Doll greets us and confuses me at the same time as to why she isn't questioning me and my beowolfs then again she might have already concluded that I was not a threat through the eyes of the messengers. We bid farewell to Viola's family as they join the rest of the dwellers in the basement while Doll seat us down at a dusty table.
"It's great to see you and all but why exactly have you called both of us back here. And where's Gehrman?" Barry cuts to the chase.
"That's one of the main reasons I called you back…he's gone." Doll says as her hand clenches slightly. Although I can't sense many emotions from her I can tell that she's very much upset at this turn of events.
"Excuse me WHAT? How is he gone?" Barry asks, absolutely baffled.
"I have no clues as to what happened, all I knew was Gehrman wanted some time to himself in the hunter's dream. I was close by and I heard him arguing with someone but there was only his voice and then he suddenly stops. I grew worried and returned there only to find his wheelchair empty without him or his weapon in sight." Doll explains.
"Ask her about the other dwellers, we need to know if whether or not that piece of shit has weaseled his way in." I remind Barry.
"You mentioned other survivors right? Who are they?" Barry asks.
"Well we have someone who just refers to himself as the dweller, a skeptical man, an old lady and a woman named Arianna and a nun, Adella." Doll lists off. Good which means the prick isn't here yet. I nudge Barry to mention the bastard in case he finds his way here.
"Listen Doll, there's this thing out there pretending to be a blind beggar, do not let him in and attack him on sight if he draws near." Barry warns. Just as a precaution, I order the 3 beowolfs to stand guard to ensure his demise.
"Other than that though, have you noticed any thing out of the ordinary?" Barry asks.
"Well 2 things actually. I was near a clinic of sort when I saw a shadow with tentacles slid around the building, it was dark but I'm sure I wasn't seeing things. Then around the fishing hamlet I was surprised to find a splitting image of me, though in hunter's attire, running into the Clocktower." Doll replies. That sets off several alarms in our heads.
"Barry, we need to go now! Iosefka is about to die and I'm pretty sure Maria's about to commit suicide!" I urge him.
"Doll do you have any shortcuts for those locations, 2 people are in serious perils and we need to get there fast!" Barry asks.
"Here take this, it's experimental and highly dangerous. Over usage of it has drove every men to madness but it should do the trick if things are that urgent." Doll throws us each a small jar of black blood. I read the label and find that it's a prototype for teleportation though they haven't rid them of side effects against humans. Luckily I'm not human and Barry's only half human.
"Bottoms up Barry, you're a hybrid so it should be fine. We'll deal with this before dealing with the main problem." We both chug the drink and nearly spit it out because it taste 10 times worse than shit. The world around me spins and I collapse to my knees in nausea. Before I know it, the moment I look up I was alone again in a field of white flowers.
Wasting no time, I rush to the door and try to pry it open only to find that it was locked. Thankfully being a phantom, I merely overcome this issue by phasing through it. Of course fate decided to be a dick as it's seconds away from disaster. There Maria sat in her chair downing a glass of wine or blood…could be both, then she starts mumbling something while drawing a knife to her neck. No way in hell am I going to make it there in time so that's why I did the only that came to mind at the moment, taking a potshot at the table next to her which in retrospect is a horrible idea if I miss.
As luck has it, the distraction was adequate making Maria flinch and drops her knife. I made a mad dash for it during this small window of opportunity to kick the weapon away. With the shock gone, Maria just looks at the knife then me before sighing.
"I guess fortune favors me after all, no need to do the deed myself. Do it beast, kill me so I may be rid of my sins and make it painful so I could repent through suffering." Maria states before gently closing her eyes. I open my mouth to talk her out of it before realizing I'm still a Grimm, it's worth a shot at least, silence and charade aren't going to do much good now.
"Maa-ri-aa, s-top thi-s" I manage to croak out with the voice of a dying penguin choking on sandpaper. She glances back at me surprised but otherwise unmoved.
"Why would I, I had plenty of chances to stop back then yet I wasted them all. Back when Kos is still…" Maria trails off.
"A-lways ti-me fo-r seco-nd chanc-e" Talking like this is starting to hurt my throat.
"NO! THERE'S NO MORE TIME! Can't you see the irrevesible consequences of my actions, can't you see his suffering. I-I n-never meant to k-" And that was as far as she gets before breaking down right then and there. If I were to hazard a guess she probably has a severe case of ptsd after whatever it is she did. I piece her words together and I started to understand what has transpired…Maria has killed Kos and probably the one responsible for the condition of the Orphan. No wonder she is filled with regret.
Since I'm not qualified to be a psychiatrist or therapist, I just sat down next to her and dry her tears with my hoodie's sleeve while she continues to bawl her eyes out. I don't know how long we sat there for but eventually she calms down and hugs me out of the blue.
"Look at my life, what a fucking trainwreck. I couldn't do anything right, instead of ending my pathetic life here I am, crying like a little and talking to a beast for comfort." Maria sighs. Yikes, major depression and lack of confidence too? What kind of childhood did she have…or did she have one at all?
"I-f si-ns too grea-t, l-ve to a-tone. De-ath isn't en-ough." I reason.
"How?" She asks with genuine curiosity.
"Oed-on chap-el, hel-p dwell-ers." I suggest.
"It's definitely not much but it's a start. Just to clarify, are you really here or are you a figment of my imagination made by my mind to cope with the shock of dying?" Maria asks and pouts a bit when I boop her on the nose.
"Is n-ot all ba-d, heal-ers tre-at you, me-di-cine and inj-ections. Be-tter in n-o time." I reassure her only for Maria to suddenly freezes up. Did I say something wrong? She slowly looks at me while trembling in place.
"In-Injections?" She asks fearfully. Oh you are shitting me god. There's NO way that this is happening. You're telling me that Maria the badass hunter that used to kick my ass for hours on end without even using her full power has Trypanophobia?
"Af-raid?" I ask.
"O-of course not! In fact I think I'm all fine now from our little pep talk. Why don't I just help the people instead I don't think I'll need doctors or *small gulp* needles." Maria says with a broken smile so poor that it makes Jaune look like an Oscar winning actor. I fold my arms and give her the most are you serious look I could muster with a my emotionless mask. She just squirms uncomfortably in place twirling her thumbs, unable to make more excuses. I realize that I wouldn't be able to do this the easy well actually maybe I could with a lot of encouragement but my throat is really sore right now. I look around my inventory for the chains of subjugation and tie it around Maria. She tries her best to struggle out of it though but who would have guessed that chains forged by literal gods would be so effective.
I bring out the jarl of that black fluid Doll gave me and see that it has enough for another trip. Picking up Maria in a fireman carry, I down the rest of the jar as my gets dizzy again. Shortly afterwards I materializes where most of the dwellers are staying and seem to be having dinner and oooh boy was it awkward. Adella just starts freaking out and throws a bible at me which unfortunately ended up hitting Maria, the old lady just rubs her eyes a bit and shrug, guess she have really seen some shit back in her days, the skeptical man is locked in a heated argument against himself while somehow losing then there was Arianna with a shit eating grin on her face giving wolf whistles.
I shuffle my way out of the room before things could escalate and look for Doll and hopefully Iosefka if Barry succeeded to get Maria some much needed help. I finally manage to find Doll in the kitchen judging by the crackling of the fireplace and sweet aroma of soup coming from there.
"Ah it seems you have succeeded in your mission as well, congratulation sir. *looks at Maria* I say you do look a lot similar to me, may I know your name miss." Doll asks in the middle of filling some bowls with soup.
"I-it's Maria…the guys weren't kidding when they say Gehrman was obsessed with me *shudder*" I put Maria down on a stool to rest my arms. Doll said as well so it seems Barry have saved Iosefka in time.
"B-arry wh-ere?" I ask her with what I hope to be the last time of me verbally speaking for today.
"He's in the lobby keeping his companions company." Doll points to the door. Wait…companions? What the fuck did you do Barry? I run to the area while simultaneously checking on my beowolfs to see if any troubles arise in my absence. All of them were still unharmed so I guess the stupid beggar didn't find his way here yet. I open the lobby door to see Barry, Iosefka…and another Iosefka? Wait did he bring back the imposter as well! Well imposter is a strong word since I can already tell which one is real just by looking. The real Iosefka is sitting on a bench observing the two while the fake one is holding onto Barry like a clingy little sister.
"Barry what the fuck is this?" I ask, dumbfounded at the absurdity.
"Onyx! Oh thank God you're here, get this crazy bitch off of me!" He cries while still trying to push her off.
"Hmmpphh! That's not a nice thing to say, I have feelings too you know?" Imposter faint hurt still refusing to let go.
"TO HELL WITH YOUR FEELINGS YOU DAMN PERVERT!" Barry screams while slamming himself and her on the floor. Clearly not getting a clear answer from these two, I turn to Iosefka, she looks at me and then nods.
"Ah you see I was just cleaning up my clinic when someone knocks on the door and I was surprised to see myself standing there. At first she attacked and pinned me down and I thought she would kill or eat me then tricks poor passerby to be her next meal. But that's when she starts *ahem* *blushes* undressing. I think she was umm what's the term…in heat? Then your friend over there, Barry if I remember correctly, kicked down the door before making a comment and I quote "Damn that's a nice ass." She heard it and immediately lunges for him instead." Iosefka explains. I just give him a disapproving look while facepalming.
"I didn't mean it I swear!" Barry defends himself.
"Oh but your boner sure did~" The imposter coos.
"Words can't express my disappointment. What happened to bros before hoes?" I faint sadness while posing dramatically.
'Oh fuck you I-" Barry was about to rant but was cut off by the imposter.
"Ooohh I didn't know you swing both ways. That's okay, a threesome is definitely arrangeable." She wiggles her eyebrows suggestively making Barry even more uncomfortable. Deciding Barry has suffered enough, actually I think it's more of me not wanting to be dragged into a threesome, I walk over to her and releases some fumes to paralyze her before having Iosefka help restrain her. I don't know why Iosefka just happen to have a straitjacket on her at all times but I'd rather not question it. I ask Iosefka for something to write on and she gives me a small notepad.
"Can you find a way to fix the imposter, I'd rather not have my friend sexually assaulted all the time. Oh and I also have another patient for you in the kitchen, mental trauma and fear of needles." I list off as Iosefka complies, taking the imposter under her arms, heading to the kitchen.
"Not another word." Barry hisses at me before following her.
The tension at the dinner table is so thick that if one have a knife they can actually cut it. Maria is glaring at me from across the table squeezing a stress ball that Iosefka probably gave her. The skeptical man keeps sneaking glances at me beowolfs constantly as well as Adella gripping a…is that a bottle of holy water? The real Iosefka is seated to the left of Barry who is once again being harassed by the imposter on his right, his expression is just saying kill me already. At least other than that the rest of the dining table was quite pleasant. Arianna is helping Gascoigne cope with the loss of his alcohol somehow through apple cider and the old lady, Agatha were striking up conversations with Viola about children. Amelia and Victoria already finished their meals and Victoria went looking for something to read while the younger of the two plays around with my beowolfs like puppies. Which just leaves Doll and me eating in peace or try to at least.
"Soo, what's your opinion on Maria?" I ask Doll to pass time.
"Her? Well I can't say I agree with how she keeps blaming herself for something long past instead of accepting the present but other than that she seems fine to me. I know I was made to resemble her but there are quite a lot of differences between us two though, she's her own person and so am I. Can I get to know you more though, I already know you're not of this land but is it normal for beasts elsewhere to be sane/intelligent?" She asks back.
"Well for someplace yes but where I'm from, definitely no. My species is Grimm, beings made of pure darkness whose sole purpose is the destruction of humanity. For me though, only my body is Grimm while my mind is very much human." I explain.
"Interesting, have you any idea what happened to Gehrman?" She asks expectantly.
"I might have an idea of our culprit given that it happened in the hunter's dream. Barry and I will confront it after dinner, don't worry about it." I answer.
"STOP ALREADY YOU SICKO!" I hear Barry yells from across the table.
"There's nothing wrong with getting a little bit intimate big guy." The imposter purrs back.
"IT IS WRONG WHEN YOU'RE A FUCKING PEDOPHILE!" And that has absolutely caught everybody else attention. Maria, Adella and Iosefka had their jaws dropped, Agatha and Viola look scandalized, Arianna and Gascoigne spit out their drinks while Doll looks genuinely confused. Ah she must not know what that means, on a second note though, how young is Barry?
"W-what?" The imposter sputters in shock immediately scooting away from Barry.
"I'm only going to say this once, I'M FUCKING 15!" Barry yells out exasperatedly. Ok not that young but I can understand how people can mistook him given that he's 6ft tall.
"O-oh G-god, I had no idea." The imposter mutters, disgusted at herself. Good to see that at least she uh it? Has some control at least, don't want the interdimensional FBI knocking down your door anytime soon.
"And why isn't that the first thing you mention Barry?" I ask him.
"I didn't know it would even matter given that she's a beast celestial thing." Barry quips back to which I toss an apple at his head because that honestly sounded racist.
"Well it I think it's time we take care of what's running rampant across Yharnam, why don't you ask Iosefka what a pedophile is." I said to Doll before dragging Barry out of the room to avoid further complications.
"What's a pedophile?" I hear Doll asks innocently from outside of the room, glad I'm nowhere there to open that can of worms.
"Right, I think it's time we do what we came here to do." I address Barry.
"You figure it out already?" Barry asks.
"Based on Doll's account then only 1 of them actually fits the bill, the moon presence which is arguably the strongest of the Great Ones too." I deduct.
"Yea I probably should have guessed that given how in the game they mentioned it actively seeking to destroy other Great Ones which begs the question, did it actually have something to do with Kos' death?" Barry thinks.
"We don't have much to connect the two yet, for now let's just head there and look for the damn thing." I shrug. A short trek through the abandoned town later and we find ourselves at the tomb that'll teleport us to the hunter's dream. Of course reinforcements would be nice but I remember that bullshit shockwave that you can't dodge that will absolutely wipe out any Grimms I summon. Well maybe except Misha, the thing's quite resilient. I made sure both Barry and I were fully stocked in ammo before teleporting there. Turns you, didn't need Doll to teleport, you just need to touch the tombstone and think of the place.
Under a blood moon in a field of crimson roses, the moon presence stood there, already expecting us. Its deformed head faces us before it lets out what sounded the closest the thing can get to a laugh.
"I never believed in fortune like those blind fools but it seems I was mistaken after all haha. No need to track you down like the rest of the pretenders." It speaks through our minds.
"So you're the one responsible for the deaths of the other Great Ones?" Barry asks, loading his pistol.
"Don't make me laugh boy, those weaklings are nothing but frauds. Real Great Ones are proud, powerful and takes what we want yet they cower away in the shadows striking deals with those disgusting fleshlings." It barks.
"Last I heard you were the same thing, hiding up in the clouds like a puppet master never showing your damn face until we're knocking at your door." Barry taunts it.
"All for good reason, you see I may be prideful but I'm no arrogant moron. I've seen a vision of an abomination, a hybrid of our kind to end my existence. Imagine my surprise when they abandoned Yharnam, from then it was child's play to wipe out the preys and grow stronger." It laughs at Barry.
"You're a fool to think you still can defeat us and you're a bigger imbecile to not have Gehrman on your side." Barry mocks, getting into a fighting stance.
"That old dog lost his usefulness the moment he questioned my actions, I have no use for disloyal pawns. ENOUGH TALK! I'll devour you all and conquer the rest of this dying world." It screams before striking its tendrils on the ground in anger.
"Then you will burn for your sins heretic!" I say in the most Warhammer accent I can muster before summoning Misha by my side.

With a battle cry, Barry lunges at the Moon Presence with his weapons drawn. While it was busy fending Barry off, I take my time to aim for its head and fire. The bullets were on course just as I wanted it to, only that the Moon presence suddenly grows 4 more arms from its torso deflecting off all the projectiles. Aren't those Amygdala's arms?
"Did you really think it would be that easy? With the newfound powers from the others I am invincible! I know your moves before you even think of them, I AM 4 PARALLEL UNIVERSES AHEAD OF YOU!" It laughs dementedly effortlessly tossing Barry back with its brute strength.
So that's how it is huh? Guess strategy is going down the drain then. However, he can't know what I'm doing if even I don't know what I'm doing. He must've gained cosmic insight from Ebrietas being able to predict my next moves but it will be useless without knowing the motives in my actions, like in chess.
"Barry, go on the defensive, it can read you next moves, continuing to attack is useless." I warn Barry.
"Wait what the fuck? How are we supposed to beat it then?" He asks me back, dodging the tendrils.
"We're not, it's going to kill itself through arrogance, just pretend to be losing, I'll think of something." I order. As long as I don't actively act against it, it won't be able to read me like a book. Wait…That's it! Misha you have your orders do it now. Misha nod solemnly before running head first at the Moon Presence. It swung the oversized arms at the Grimm but instead of dodging, Misha got hit by the arms and flew out of sight. All according to plan.
"Have you grown that desperate to sacrifice your pets for such meaningless attacks?" It mocks. I didn't say anything and verbally growl at it before charging in again. Thankfully the arms were way slower than me and any counterattacks I can't dodge I can turn intangible to avoid it. Barry was holding off fine by himself and he was even able to make it bleed a little bit.
Moon Presence (14468/15000)
"You're all mere pests in my way. Cease your pathetic struggles and die already!" I have you right where I want you now prick.
"You might have outsmarted me but I outsmarted your outsmarting. Your celestial powers are…muda muda MUDA!" Then out of nowhere, Misha bursts out from the ground tackling the Moon presence in its spine, breaking its defensive stance. Earlier I figured with how it considered itself to be superior, it wouldn't expect something like Misha to be able to think at all let alone follow orders and failed to foresee Misha's next actions. Regardless though the Moon Presence still has enhanced perception and an indirect assault was in order. That's why I ordered Misha to take the hit so it can begin tunneling under it from somewhere out of sight and the sound Barry and I fighting will drown out the sound of digging.
With the Moon Presence stunted, Barry draws his pistol for a quick headshot before delivering a large slash to its spine. Finishing the job, Misha launches a haymaker towards the already damaged spine with me doing a feral slash and blasting it with an overcharged (x4) dark energy beam.

Moon Presence (5431/15000)
"How does it feel to be beaten by mere pests?" Barry laughs at it. It didn't even dignify a response instead shrieking furiously, charging up the shockwave, oh no you don't. I pull the chain out from my inventory and toss one end to Misha as we proceed to wrap it around the Moon Presence. The chain work its magic as it was shocked to see the shockwave dispelled. That spine if looking real frail right now, would be shame if someone were to shoot it! *bang* A single shot from Lunar Fang was all it takes to completely tear through what remains of that section successfully cutting the Moon Presence in half.
Successful bisection 5431/2 = 2716 DMG
Moon Presence (2715/15000)
"To think I've been bested by such nuisances. MARK MY WORDS THIS ISN'T OVER!" It screeches before its body being to fade away. Son of a bitch it's using Rom's teleport, you're not getting away that easily. I go to the shop quick search bar and purchase a pack of c4 for 1000 Lien, sticking it to one of the tendrils before the Moon Presence could fully teleport away.
"Would you like the pleasure?" I ask Barry as I toss him the detonator.
"Haha, gladly. HEY ASSHOLE!" Barry yells at the Moon Presence up in the sky.
"Omae wa mou shindeiru." Barry says, hitting the button.
"NANI *beep* *BOOOM*" And that was the end of the Moon Presence now reduced to nothing more than a shower of blood and guts. From the explosion a small violet diamond falls next to me and I pocket it to examine it at another time.

"Umm Barry?" I call out to him while reading the part about Barry's evolution again.
"Yeah? What's the matter?" He asks back brushing off some guts from his coat.
"According to what I've just read, you have evolved kinda like a pokemon. And said evolution would give you new appendages…do you feel different or tingly anywhere?" I ask.
"Well now that you mention it, the back of my shoulders are real itchy and my finger feels sore." Barry replies trying to scratch the spots but suddenly freezes up once he reaches inside. He gradually takes out his hand from underneath his coat and in it was a tentacle growing out from behind his shoulder and the same could be said for the other side. They greatly resemble the Moon Presence's ones but Barry's tentacles are inky black instead of blood red.
Barry looks at the tentacles then at me before glancing down at his fingers. He furrows his brows for a moment before stretching his fingers to see the nails turn into claws then back into nails again when he relaxes his hands.
"This is fucking brilliant. Well maybe not with the tentacles since it feels out of place." Barry says after a moment of silence.
"Eh you'll get used to it eventually and hey it's not that hard to hide like my entire body. If someone sees them just claim you're an octopus faunus, highly unbelievable but plausible and logical." I shrug.
"Now let's the hell out of here and bid farewell to the others, you and I both need a long shower…again" I wrap my arm around Barry and we begins walking back to the chapel with Misha, munching on some leftovers of the Moon Presence as the morning sun rises over the horizon behind us.
Author's notes: Wow that was taxing to write. I've heard of and watched people play Bloodborne but I've never personally played it so I have to do research on the lore and all to make sure I don't fuck up the story too much. And if you're wondering about why Moon Presence can hear Onyx talk telepathically but not him talking to Barry it's because they're doing it through the system which is a separated entity from Onyx's mind. Next chapter is going to be some story progression towards Oniyuri.
Guest from chapter 12: My bad, I really thought at least some people would know Maria given that the only place she could get her eyes would be Atlas but I guessed she probably pulled some strings to do it off the record. That and Ozpin being the know it all and in addition probably told his inner circle which would include Summer and Tai.
Shinigami-Fallen from chapter 12; Oh Barry like Onyx would gain most his strength through evolution and his ridiculous growth rate every level ups. I've considered a robot but ultimately decided that it's better off to have someone like that as a sidekick like an AI. Oh you're kinda right on the arcane powers part it's just not Barry that's going to get it. Onyx will have some but not to the point of being a wizard, the 4th person of Onyx team is a D_N. Props to you if you guess what that is.
Dewey21DAN from chapter 12: Event not character since then it would just be a normal guy, irradiated to the point of being considered a nuclear hazard but still just human, Onyx team are along the lines of monsters with the soul of a human. The 4th member will be from a Bethesda game though.
Neon Dagger from chapter 12: Nah in fact he just got an upgrade for those skills. Onyx just didn't use skills for chapter 12 because he didn't need to and that he might accidentally kill someone. The only downsides of being a phantom is that he takes more damage if he's not possessing something on a 1.5 scale like how instead of taking 50 DMG he now takes 75 DMG.
