How? How could he be here of all places, in fact, how is he here at all? Manus is supposed be dead since ages ago, slain by the chosen undead. Unless…Whenever there is light, there will be darkness, his existence is tied to the Abyss and by extension the First Flame itself!
"We have to extinguish the flame, clear the path for the fire keeper!" I order with everyone now surrounding her to form an escort.
"Knights of the pledged oath, attend to me. Harken to the call that summons thee." Filianore chants and summoning circles surround us as 20 ringed knights phantoms come to our aid.

"CHARGE!" And with Siegward's battle cry, 2 sides clash blades, the final battle between the fading light and the growing darkness. The dark wraiths make up for what they lack in power with their almost endless numbers with more and more of them pouring out of the rift by the minute. It also doesn't help with the fact that our ringed knights are vulnerable to dark damage.
Outnumbered and outpowered, the ringed knights could only stall the brunt of the attack drawing half of the dark wraiths away from us. Their poise would also be a fickle thing to deal with as most of our weapon wouldn't be able to stagger them considering we need greatswords and the likes. Ann saves the day however as she rides on her pet barreling through the dark wraiths formation knocking them off their feet making easy targets for the rest of us to finish.
The next line of obstacles was simply put a massive horde of abyssal mages and mutated long-armed abominations, it's a tsunami even! Unsure of how to deal with such large numbers, we slow our advance to delay the encounter. Filianore shows us that she isn't a fragile royalty as what people maker her out to be, conjures her own catalyst and forms a massive Soul Stream vaporizing at least a hundred of them. Even so, their numbers are still quite large and it was inevitable that we fight them off in close combat. Everyone has chosen to pair up with ones closest to them to cover each other. Anri and Horace are fairing quite well given their lack of impressive armory as well as Greirat and surprisingly Sirris who has taken it upon herself to defend the thief. I think I don't even need to say it to show how the rest are utterly decimating the incoming enemies. Elfriede's and Vilhelm's outrageous amount of AOE cleaves through their ranks like a hot knife through butter. Barry torching dozens of the monsters with his various molotovs while Maria has no issue cutting down any strays. Lionel and I with the support of my 12 beowolfs easily turn the tide of having the numbers advantage against our share of abyssal monsters. Siegward has become a one man army taking his side of the battle by himself and winning! I guess I really underestimated the Storm Ruler huh. With all of the grunts dealt with, it was the abyssal mages' turn to perish. The storm of dark energy the blast at us prove futile with Eygon effortlessly blocking it with his shield not to mention Irina casting prayers to buff the man up from the backlines. *clang* *clang* *clang* Uh oh, that can't be good.
Turning to our backs I see the ringed knights finally being overwhelmed by the dark wraiths as they fall down one by one, only 3 spear knights remain having survived so far thanks to their greatshields. They soon learn of their mistakes and completely ignore the remaining knights charging at the back of our formation where the fire keeper along Irina are left defenseless as we were too busy dealing with the abominations up front. Then against both side's expectations, Yorshka, the frail woman dusts herself off facing her attackers. *SHING* a flash of light later and all of the offending dark wraiths find themselves relieved of their lower bodies with Yorshka having cut them all in half with the biggest life hunt scythe I have ever seen conjured.
"Ooh…mama likes." I hear Friede mutters nearby which creeped me out a little bit and probably her knight Vilhelm as well.
However, Yorshka could only do so much before one dark wraith manages to slip past her onslaught lunging at the fire keeper with killing intent…Only to have its head blown off by a lightning arrow from…Shira? When did she get here?
"Fret not my lady, we're here to serve. KNIGHTS OF FILIANORE SHED YOUR BLOOD FOR HER MAJESTY!" Shira declares and on que more white phantoms arrive to join our side. However these are actual players! Or well maybe other Ashen Ones from before-I stop abruptly in my train of thoughts as I see several Havels materializing.
"Quickly we must push onwards." Anri beckons us to continue charging.
"Right, the bonfire's only a few meters away, I don't think Manus can get past that many rocks in his path." Lionel agrees.
"This is easier than I expected well of course we still have to kill Manus afterwards, nothing can possibly go-" Barry, ever the wise guy he was, tempted the world and it answered in kind in the form of an ear splitting screech and a shadow big enough to block out the sky.
"SCATTER!" I scream tackling the closest person to me at the moment being Lionel from the group as everyone does the same when a flaming hot laser devastate where we were moments ago. Midir has joined the battle.
"You just have to open your big mouth don't you?" I shout at Barry watching Midir circling above.
"Filianore do you have any lightning miracles, I don't think anything else can even remotely scratch this absolute unit." I call out to the princess.
"I could only muster a few but I'll need time." She replies.
"Alright we'll try our best to cov-*SKREEE* Oh great now what?" I try to resist the urge to strangle Barry as yet more adversaries show up and wouldn't you know it just so happen to be one of the most deadliest monsters around, the Pus of Man…numbering around 50.
"Barry, join up with the rest of the ringed knights and deal with the pus. We don't have to kill Midir, at least not now, focus on getting to the First Flame!" Wishing the fire keeper luck as Ann swoop by to pick her up along Friede and Vilhelm for escort, I reluctantly face the ginormous fire breathing lizard and draw Lionheart.
"Look on the bright side lad, if we were to die here, we die a honorable death eh?" Siegward tries to lighten the mood.
"No matter what happens, everything will not be in vain if we can vanquish this evil once and for all." Anri agrees accompanied by a determined grunt from Horace.
"I-I'm not sure I'm ready to die such an agonizing death." Greirat whimpers.
"You could always go face that horde of giant bloodthirsty demon snakes." Sirris offers.
"…Dragon slaying it is!" Greirat changes his mind.
Having enough of our banter, Midir charges wildly at us, head snapping wildly in every direction all the way. Having quite the distance to cover, we were allowed ample time to evade the coming attack and only Siegward had minor issues regarding his weight while rolling out of the way. Once satisfied with the proximity, Midir's tail whirls across the field like a razor sharp blade cutting through the air. Once again I wonder if this dragon is actually blind or it has incredibly poor depth perception as half of us weren't even in range to begin with.
That said, even with all these advantages we're not exactly winning either. Filianore's miracles are only scratching it at most with Midir showing no signs of fatigue whatsoever and the amount of scales falling off after each attack is next to none.
"I'm not exactly a zoologist but I'm pretty sure we're not hitting this thing in the right spot." Lionel comments, observing how all of our blades bouncing off Midir harmlessly.
"Hang on give me a second." There's something we're missing alright, like a blaring, hard to reach weak spot…That's it!
"Lionel, I'm going to bank it on the most reliable attack in all of Dark Souls." I suggest.
"WHAT? THAT'S ABSURD! I mean, how the hell are you even going to reach its head?" Lionel exclaims in disbelief.
"Oh that's simple, hey Siegward! I want you to hit me with the storm ruler's weapon art." I call out to the Catarina knight.
"What? Have you gone hollow lad?" He shouts back.
"Come on come on, I want you to do it. I want you to do it, come on hit me!" I repeat.
"Alright! I hope you know what you're doing." Siegward mutters, channeling wind into the greatsword.
"I got to say…this is probably one of the dumbest plans I have seen." Lionel sighs.
"Hey, if it isn't dumb then it probably wouldn't work." I wait for a clearing to open when Midir pushes everybody back and start running as fast as I could towards the dragon which might have been slow as hell considering how armored I am. All that matters is that I time this just right.
"NOW SIEGWARD!" I order.
Glancing back to the quickly approaching gale of wind just it to touch my feet, I break my sprint into a leap making sure to position myself directly above the blast. *BOOM*

This generated the desired result of me getting flung like a ragdoll high into the air right above Midir for the almighty plunging attack!
Wait…Is that a smile on Midir's jaw? Is it me or I'm falling shorter than expected? Realization hits me like a ton of bricks when Midir ignores any further assault from my allies and directly face me, opening its mouth.
"OH FUUUUUUU-" *GULP* Welp that couldn't have backfired any worse than that. I hold in the urge to vomit futilely trying to stop myself from sliding further into Midir's bowels.
"Hey Barry, how's it looking out there?" I call out to my fellow crusader.
"What do you mean out there? Where are you calling from?" He asks back as the sounds of battle rages on in the background of deafening dying screeches of the pus.
"Oh you know…Midir's inside." I try to sound nonchalant but even I could tell that came out in a depressed tone.
"You're joking you have to be fucking joking." He replies.
"I wish I were…I wish I were." I answer dejectedly.
"Dear god…well to begin with , the pus are being pushed back relatively quickly as long as we keep our distance the shouldn't be much of an issue to deal with. Now tell me your story, how the fuck did you end up getting eaten and why aren't you I don't know consulting with Lionel instead of me?" Barry asks.
"I thought I could pull a fast one on Midir with a plunging attack and failed as you can see…Maybe that was due to poor knowledge of physics and geometry on my part but long story short I ended up short of the leap and Midir took the opportunity to swallow me. Lionel kinda watched me get eaten so I don't think he's in the right state of mind to hold a conversation with not to mention me not being able to do so as I haven't added him to the party yet." I explain.
"Just a quick confirmation…most reptiles are cold-blooded right?" I ask.
"Uh yes…why? Barry answers.
"I might be able to save this situation yet. Wrap things up on your end and hurry to Lionel, if he's the loot goblin I suspect him to be then he should have at least one frost weapons in his bottomless box. Try to toss one to me and I should be able to kill Midir from the inside." I continue.
"Oh and I think you should really hurry up, I can feel the stomach acid kicking in." I stop trying to shift around, avoiding the corrosive goo leaking from the walls. Any seconds now and a weapon will drop from above…Any seconds now…*sizzle* *sizzle* God why does it feels itchy as well?
Suffering from Minor Acid-1/minute
Well that's just peachy, might as well sheath my sword less I let it corrodes. Oddly enough the scent isn't that bad, then again this isn't the first time I'm covered in disgusting shit. Barry sure is taking his sweet time.

*RUMBLE* Whoa shit! Midir seems to be flailing as I was sent tumbling around in the dark. Gripping on a mound of flesh I try to stabilize myself in one of the worst rollercoasters I've been on hoping things would calm down. His screeches are getting louder but other than that it has stopped lashing out and *ding* bingo, there's my package. Reaching above my head, I grab the chilling blade revealing it to an Irythill rapier no doubt procured from an Outrider knight. Time to get to work.
*Squelch* *Squelch* Oh yeah I can feel the air getting colder, it's only a matter of time now. Thrust after thrust the interior of Midir is slowly getting coated in ice and the rhythmic beating of its heart is starting to slow down accordingly. Aannnd one last hit *crack* With the final inch of Midir's stomach covered in ice with some of it in the veins as well, I hug the wall and begin a silent countdown. One last muffled cry from outside and a large quake as Midir presumable falls dead. I make sure that it stopped moving for good by checking its pulse and once satisfied that there is none left I start making my way outside. Right that looks like the way I came in.
"VICTORY!" I exclaim after freeing myself from the carcass.
"EW!" And instantly instead of cheering, everybody chorus in disgust…Do I really look that gross? *thud* huh? I feel my head touching something and look up to see a limp tail…if that's the tail then that means I…oh. Oh god no.
"*look behind* *deep breath in* yikes." I mutter finally seeing where I have actually exited.
"HOLY SHIT YOU'RE ALIVE?" I hear Lionel shouts.
"Of course I am, didn't Barry tell you?" I ask back noticing the hunter standing right next to Lionel.
"Well you really sounded urgent so I kind of just snatched the box and rummaged through it for the sword." He answers.
"I'm glad we were able to come out on top but must you resort to something so…vulgar?" Anri asks me tearing her eyes from Midir's corpse.
"My boy I would give you a hug for such a glorious feat but eh…" Siegward trails off awkwardly.
"In my defense, I couldn't see anything inside as it was dark so…you know what let's just go kill Manus and get this over with." I brush off any goop and blood left on me and join the others at the First Flame though they're now simultaneously avoiding me like the plague.
At the scene, Ann has managed to kill of the remaining dark wraiths in the area with the help of Friede, Wilhelm and her dog. The fire keeper is approaching the Flame just in time for us to see Gundyr kneeling from exhaustion next to pile of scrap metal that has previously been the Pursuer. *GROOOARGH* Manus has been busy himself wiping out our reinforcements but it'll be easy enough once he becomes vulnerable, just need to snuff out the bonfire now.
"Hey Onyx, is it me or does this sword graveyard seems to trigger traumatic flashbacks?" Barry points out.
"…Son of a-GET DOWN!" I tackle the fire keeper away from the raging flames bursting from the coiled sword as the soul of cinder manifests.

Everybody goes on alarm and draw their respective weapons yet Lionel remains fixed in place looking to the sky.
"I sense a disturbance in the force, like a legend is resonating." He states as I too start to have this sudden urge to charge into certain death screaming my name like a madman and Barry too if that Cheshire grin is anything to go by.
Then, from the sky, a red blur fly down at the speed of sound with a slight metallic gleam within it. Could it be?
"Slave knight GAELLLLLLL!" After the battle cry worthy of Valhalla warriors, the ground where the soul of cinder stood explodes from the sheer might of the godly plunging attack. Holding the executioner greatsword and donning a gnome-like red cloak, Gael stands victorious over the soul of cinder with its head now caved in from the blow. Yet despite the lethal blow, the coiled sword glows brightly still as the soul lifts it high into the air, ready to plunge it down for its second wind.
"Gael watch out!" I warn the knight.
Chuckling, Gael casually pulls out his crossbow from his cloak and just unloads an entire clip into the back of its head. Even if it's against something not human, I feel like a brutal execution is still a war crime regardless. One thing for sure though, the soul isn't coming back from that anytime soon.
"Youngsters these days ever the troublemakers, vandalizing a place or two I can understand but a whole world? Haha, you remind me of my prime days kiddos." He greets us.
"I'm glad you could make it as well, I couldn't think of anywhere to find you when you suddenly disappeared from the chapel." Lionel waves to the old man.
"With most of the monsters in the painted world gone, little Lisa found her way out easy enough and told me of this escape to a more peaceful realm that she overheard, I couldn't help but be intrigued." Gael reveals.
"Lisa, is that the painter's name? Speaking of, where is she?" Barry chimes to which Gael simply points behind him and Barry falls on his back seeing a small girl with long hair comparable to Rapunzel tied into neat braids right next to him. Did she just teleported over there?
"I'm not the only one who didn't notice her right?" Ann asks.
"She tends to do that a lot, gives me a lot of heart attacks before. Now miss fire keeper, extinguish that damnable flame so we can finish what our predecessors started." Standing aside, Gael lets the fire keeper approach the flickering embers of the first flame. Gently cupping it in her hand, she scoops the thing up separating from the bonfire. Gradually, the flame fades and fades until it was no more. The sky darkens as light gives out engulfing the landscape in an eternal night.
Radiant orbs of light fly out from Filianore's catalyst to give us vision of the last thing standing in our way to freedom, Manus. The abomination is royally pissed and I'm glad just for the sake of it that I'm getting on this bastard's nerves because the coward pulls its ace in the hole splitting the ground between my group and everybody else. Seems we have to put in the work ourselves to end this.
"You have this guys, we believe in you!" Maria encourages us.
"This is the most I can do, it's up to you now." Filianore wishes us luck casting one final miracle to fully heal me.
"Allow me to aid as well." Yorshka casts a quiet prayer coating our blades in violet light.

"Alright, this thing has no elemental weakness whatsoever so it's just going to be straight brute force to take him down." I begin.
"Barry, Lionel get behind me. I'm practically made of darkness so Manus' spells shouldn't affect me much." Forming the shield on my right arm, I charge ahead with no regards for the orbs of humanity that has begun to rain down from above.
"We're getting closer to him, Lionel, boost me!" We disperse as Manus slams his catalyst down. Utilizing this vulnerable moment as the beast struggles to pull its weapon back up, Barry leaps on Lionel's shoulders and the knight heaves a mighty push launching him onto its back where Barry begins hacking away.
Distracted by Barry's risky yet bold strikes, Manus fails to notice me cutting into its knees with the help of Lionel. Tar like blood bath us yet Manus doesn't even so much as flinch only growling in annoyance before trying to stomp us which we have no problems avoiding.

Oh lord how is my spine intact after that. Rolling a good 10 feet or so before I could get up, I hear Barry yelps as the horns atop Manus' head contorts freakishly to grab him and shove Barry into the gaping maw below.
I fumble around and shoot at the horns but the lack of brightness combined with nausea from the recent concussion utterly botch my aim with only 2 bullets hitting barely leaving a scratch as well as one bullet nearly hitting Barry in the process.
Successful Hits on Manus (196 X 2) = 392 DMG
Manus: 27771/30000 HP
"Goddamnit Onyx! Are you even trying to help!" Barry screams.
Mere moments and he is released, free to fall into the maws of death, I don't think he can survive on the inside as I'm myself am unsure whether Manus even has a stomach or it's just an incinerator in there. But what's this? He's still holding on! A closer look reveals that Barry has managed a grip on the mouth using his tendrils yet given their puny size and no doubt inexperience in using them, he will not be able to cling on much longer.
"Lionel aim for its feet, we have to stagger it!" And so we hack away at the surprisingly small legs. You know what they say, the bigger they are the harder they fall although in this case Manus didn't fall but he still tripped lowering his neck within reach. Sliding underneath the vulnerable spot I plunge my sword which could only go in half-way, halted by the thick hide but not before cutting an artery as a fountain of black goo splashes into my face.
Successful Riposte (643 x 2.45) = 1575 DMG
Manus: 26196/30000
Roaring in rage and pain, the beast flings Barry away into the dirt. The hunter gets up, wounded and fatigued yet he cracks a triumphant smile.
"Onyx, I found his weak spot! While hanging above the mouth I could see Manus' soul lying deeper within protected by a massive bone cage of sorts, if we can get an explosive charge in there then it's game over for Manus." An explosive charge huh? I think I got just the thing.
"Lionel, toss me your bottomless box." I take a deep breath for the oncoming stunt I'm planning to pull.
"What? Why?" The knight asks me but I just glare at him and he obliges in response.
"Good…now launch me up there like you did with Barry." Manus no doubt seeing my scheme, tries to prevent the boost by slamming the massive catalyst down at Lionel but little did it know it was playing right into my hand. My intended route wasn't to its back but rather along its arms and directly into its mouth to avoid the horns grabbing me.
Running along the path, multiple tentacles sprout out to try and catch me but I was faster to dispatch them with temporary beowolfs. Manus is growing desperate, shaking madly to throw me off but I hold strong by digging my claws into its flesh and continue forth. Seeing the cage Barry mentioned after peering into the mouth, I open Lionel's box and dump everything in there at once from all weapons and armors to consumables. The energy stored within the enchanted gear and raw energy from resin will be more than enough to shatter the core. All I need now, is an igniter.
"You have served me well partner." Bidding farewell to Lunar Fang, I toss it in among the growing mountain of items and send forth a wave flames from my sword to overheat the dust crystal within the revolver. The pistol grows red hot and then explodes in glorious blaze of utter destruction. The blast was so strong it blows a clean hole through Manus' belly and I could see countless of lost souls flying away, freed of their imprisonment.
Seeing Manus has yet to perish, I deliver the final blows, driving my greatsword right between its eyes over and over again until the many red eyes atop its horns have fully dimmed. The huge carcass hits the ground with a final thud and Manus is no more, dissipating just as many other great foes have

Reality crumbles around us, this broken world could take no more and now returns to oblivion from whence it came. The same portal that took us here appears from thin air and in a brilliant flash of light it swallows everyone bringing us back to safety, back to Remnant.
When I come about I feel the soft grass beneath me and sit up finding everyone in a similar state just lying around a vast empty hill with a magnificent view of the setting sun. The undead who are used to darkness gape at such wonder while Barry, Lionel and I sit on the side chuckling to ourselves on how powerful warriors such as them can still act like children sometimes.
"So…what now?" Lionel asks us, making himself more comfortable on the ground.
"For now, we rest, such moments of respite rarely come and it'd be a shame to waste them." I answer, getting a nod from Barry.
"Hmm, does anybody else feel hungry?" Killing a dragon and dark lord does work up an appetite, I wonder if Siegward's estus soup is as great as people make it out to be.
Omake: Little Favors (Tai and Summer)
Barry: BLARRGHH!
Onyx is seen crouched next to Barry as he vomits all the contents of his stomach into a bush. The culprit lies near his feet being a bowl of estus soup Siegward has made moments prior.
Lionel: What did you put in there Siegward?
Siegward: It's just the usual, maybe he's not used to the taste as he's not undead?
Anri: I don't know…this doesn't smell right either.
Ann: Well I'm sure it's not THAT bad *sip* Nevermind, I've tasted all sorts of army rations before but none of them come close to being as horrid as this crime against humanity.
Ann kicks the bowl away in anger and her pet now named Butch growls after it. The others surrounding the cauldron of soup grow more skeptical of it and decide to not have any including Vilhelm and Friede, that's saying a lot if even 2 people living in a world rot find it gross.
Lionel: Well that can't be right, I've tasted it before, it's supposed to taste like estus with more flavor and that's it…unless, Siegward can you show us your dark sign?
Siegward: Huh? Sure *takes off right gauntlet* WHAT THE?
Everyone was just as shocked to see the dark sign there in its current state, faded to the point one could mistake it to be a birthmark.
Lionel: Onyx! What is this!
Onyx: Hmm? *looks at dark sign* Why are you so surprised? Of course the curse would be gone, it was connected to the flame which we extinguished like 20 minutes ago. I know it's a great deal to have it lifted and all but bear in mind that you can die for good now so don't go risking your life needlessly *cough* Siegward *cough*.
Lionel: It is? Well great we spent an hour waiting for nothing then, do you have a shop or something that we can order from?
Onyx: Is KFC ok?
Lionel: Why not, see if they have those mashed potatoes balls, I love those things.
Filianore: Excuse me sir Lionel, what is this KFC you speak of?
Lionel: Oh you know it's just fast food-oh wait you guys don't know what that is. Basically they serve extremely unhealthy food that taste like heave, like I'm talking about stuffs worth to die for, mostly chicken and burgers which are basically another form of a sandwich.
Sirris: *gasp* You eat witches?
Lionel: No! It's…how the fuck do you not know what a sandwich is, what the hell have you people been eating for your entire life?
Onyx: Lionel move!
Lionel: Wha-OOF!
Lionel couldn't turn around in time to see a portal dumping a metric fuck load of plastic bags on top of him efficiently burying the knight. Gasping for air he swims out of the pile and looks incredulously at Onyx.
Lionel: How many Big Smoke orders is this?
Onyx: Uhhh…no idea, I just wanted variety so I ordered 7 giant feasts.
Barry: Hey Onyx, this is for you *hands over a ringing scroll*.
Onyx: Where did you get a scroll?
Barry: Summer and Tai handed me one to keep in contact before they left, you know when you were still power napping before.
Onyx: *picks up* Hello?
Tai: Ah Onyx, are you free at the moment?
Onyx: I am, did something come up?
Tai: You could say that, Summer and I are busy at the moment an-*WOOOOO*
Onyx: Was that Summer?
Tai: *sigh* Yeah, Atlas is having professional huntsmen over to test their new tech and she's like a kid in an amusement park right now riding around at the speed of sound on one of their tactical bikes. Sooo, Qrow is off…somewhere and we were wondering if you could watch over Ruby and Yang for us.
Onyx: Say no more, I'm on my way.
Tai: Wonderful, I'll send a bullhead over to pick you guys up and don't worry about Dave, he's seen a lot of crazy shit in his career so he won't question your appearance and all *hangs up*.
Onyx: Alright Barry, we're visiting little Rubes and Yang again, you're coming as well Lionel.
Lionel: Fine, let me just get some mashed potatoes first.
Onyx: Hey, is it me or are we missing some people over there?
Lionel: The fire keeper left with Gundyr to make sure he doesn't go berserk in search of a peaceful place to rest. Gael excused himself to go ahead with Lisa to any nearby towns to turn in for the night as they're tired.
{2 hours later}
Getting off the bullhead, the trio waits for it to be out of their sight before turning to each other and whisper.
Onyx: I'm not the only one who saw how dead inside he was right?
Lionel: Dave looks like he's hollowed twice.
Barry: I don't think he even blinked on the way here.
Shrugging off the creepy pilot aside, Onyx goes over to the Xiao Long-Rose residence and knocks on the door. The door barely creaks open before he was tackled by a red blur.
Ruby: MR ONYX!
Onyx: I miss you too Ruby *looks at her again* Wow you have grown much taller.
Ruby: Yup, I drink milk a lot. *notices Lionel* Ohmygodisheahuntsmantoo?Caniseehisweapon?
Lionel: Uh what?
Barry I think she wants to see your weapon mate *nudges Lionel*
Lionel: Careful not to cut yourself.
Lionel hands over his sword and shield to Ruby who struggles to lift them but otherwise still marvel at all the details as Onyx sets her down.
Onyx: Where's Yang?
Ruby: Oh she's up in her room, ever since dad told her about semblances, she's been studying about them to try and awaken hers.
Onyx: Well I think I can help her with that, can you call her down?
Ruby runs to grab Yang meanwhile the three makes their way into the kitchen where a note was pinned on the fridge by a magnet listing their chores for the day.
Onyx: Let's see here…play with Ruby and Yang, clean the house, cook dinner, seems simple enough. Lionel can you clean the house? Barry you can play with Ruby, I'll have Yang train with Misha in the yard. And I, will be fixing up a fine dinner.
With their tasks clear, the three sets out to do their respective job. With such a peaceful neighborhood, uneventful atmosphere with no dangerous Grimms nearby everything should go without a hitch. The keyword here being "should" not will.
{Upstairs}
Barry: Alright Ruby what do you want to do?
Ruby: Hmm…ooh can you read me a story?
Barry: Sure thing kiddo, let's see here *picks a random book on the shelf* Little Grimm Riding Hood, huh that's fitting.
Ruby: Oh that's mom's favorite, please read it.
Barry: ahem. Once there was a girl and her name was little Red. She went off to Grandma's house for Gram was sick in bed. She wondered through the forest with her basket full of bread. She ran into a big bad Beowolf, it was after her head. Yet Little Red wasn't scared for she came prepared. Wait I don't remember it going like this.
Ruby: Mom said these are made for aspiring young huntsmen and huntresses.
Barry: Okay then…Anyway where was I? Before she left, her mother packed an axe. She grins at the Grimm for it will be the snack. *flips page* OH GOD!
What lays there is a very vivid illustration of little Red executing the Beowolf Mortal Kombat style fatality, decapitating it and bathes in its blood while laughing maniacally. Going to the next page hoping to avoid the disturbing content Barry was instead met with more gore as little Red starts disemboweling the Grimm and plays with its entrails. Having seen enough, he hastily closes the book and rushes into the bathroom to vomit once again.
Barry: *stumbles back into the room* Listen Ruby these are just stories so don't take them too seriously.
Ruby: Well duh, everybody knows Grimm disappears on death, I can't play with its corpse like little Red no matter how much I want to. *pouts*
Barry: That's not what I meant ugh let's just read another one. *picks another book* Three little huntsmen *flips into the middle of the book* Oh come on! Is there any book here that is family friendly!
{Downstairs}
Lionel: Well that wasn't so bad then again this place isn't that big. Let's see now, I've cleaned the living room, kitchen, bathroom…*checks list* all that's left is Qrow's room…why is his name spelled with a q? Oh well it can't be any dirtier than the bathroom *opens door to basement*
Opening the door Lionel was met with the disgusting stench of expired snacks, alcohol and a hint of dried vomit. The cacophony of horrid odors and stains that covered every inch of the room and every furniture within put Farron's swamps to shame. *squelch* Raising his boot slowly in fear, Lionel screams and falls back on the stairs seeing that the carpet is so filthy that it turned sticky.
Lionel: *cough* What the hell is this nightmare!
{In the kitchen}
Onyx: alright everything is almost finished, the salmon log is coming along nicely, the cookies are cooling down and the Olivier salad looks amazing. *sniff* *sniff* Where is that charred smell coming from? *turns around* What the hell happened to you Lionel?
Lionel: *charred black* I had to burn it, I had to burn away the horrors.
Onyx: You know what I'm not going to ask, did you finish everything on this list?
Lionel: Y-yea, I fucking hope so.
Onyx: Go get Yang if you would, dinner's almost finished and I'll call Barry with Ruby down later.
Lionel: I'm not sure if I have an appetite left *turns note over* Oh there's another chore. This should be quick.
{Dining room, 5 minutes later}
Onyx: You don't look so great Barry.
Barry: I've seen some disturbing sh-*looks at Ruby eating cookies* stuffs.
Onyx: What's taking Lionel so l-
Onyx was cut off as the ground shakes from an explosion sounding like it came from the courtyard followed by an animalistic outraged scream and Misha running inside in fear with some of its fur singed. The chore list falls slowly next to Onyx and he turns it over to see what the last task was only to recoil in horror. Give Yang a haircut.
{With Tai and Summer}
Summer: Oh stop worrying so much Tai, I'm sure they're fine.
Tai: I know I just got this feeling that something-
The couple stop dead in their tracks as they arrive back home to the scene of a totaled yard. The trees are all snapped in half and still smoking as if struck by lightning. The small and normally negligible holes from their training sessions have turned into huge craters. The training dummies are just gone, the only thing letting them know that there were indeed dummies here are a few small balls of cottons littering the ground.
Weapons in hands, the two charges into the house for any possible threats and were at a loss for words. Ruby and Yang who now has short hair only reaching her nape instead of shoulders are eating quietly with Onyx and Barry at the table. What frightens Summer and Tai however is a bloody white sheet covering an unmoving body right in front of them.
Onyx: Ignore it.
Summer: Bu-
Onyx: Ignore it.
Author's notes: If you're wondering why I haven't written since April it was because I took a break after the exams to catch up on my unfinished anime and fanfictions as well. There's also a couple of manga that caught my interest along with a lot of steam games I snatched during the summer sales. Anyway, I gave the story some thought and I decide to not have a 4th member to Onyx's party. The reason I went for a 4 people party in the first place is so they could form a team in beacon. However, with the intended powers I'm giving them the school arc will be dull and only hamper their progress. With that said, Lionel will be the last Isekai. I'm still going to have the three travels through each continent before canon and next chapter is going to focus on the end of Mistral where they will run into a certain bandit tribe. The people from dark souls will be met again along their journey as minor allies and acquaintances. If you have any questions regarding future chapters or clarifications on some aspect of the system then feel free to ask. I'm going to repeat this again too, there will be no pairing for this entire story or at least detailed pairing as I still have no idea how to write that stuff.
PS: I'm giving the shop a nerf so that Onyx will only be able to buy stuff that is either part of the world he's in or items that can be found in normal Earth. I've read some gamer fanfics and it's kinda too overpowered how some guy can just buy the sharingan per say if he has the money.
