Summary: A Darkus bakugan was send to Tokyo rather back to Vestroia with the other bakugan where he meets Mimete and team up to catch pure hearts. Can the Sailor Scouts defeat this new foe or will the Battle Brawlers have to step up to help them out?

"Ah, this is pointless!" shouted Runo as she lied down at the ground. "Can't we take a break, Lita? I feel like my arms are going to fall."
"Come on Runo, give it another go. Alice and the boys are having no problem," said Lita.
"That's because Dan and Shun do these kinds of things every day and Alice helps out with her grandfather while I'm stuck at my parent's restaurant," ranted Runo.
Lita backed away before seeing Dan and Alice coming back from their jog while Shun jumped out from a tree branch. "Hey, how was your run?"
"It was great Lita," said Dan, happily. "I normally jog with Drago every morning and night back home so this is a piece of cake, right Drago?"
"That's right Daniel."
"It's been quite some time that Dan and I trained together," said Shun, smirking. "Maybe, we can resume who beats whom once again."
Lita laughed a bit as Dan stick his tongue out to his friend before addressing to Alice. "What about you? Runo told me you help out with your grandfather, but with what?"
"Well, my grandfather is a scientist, so I help him with a lot of things. Either fixing his equipment or carrying them," replied Alice.
"Oh, I see," said Lita. "Come on Runo, how about a run around the dojo?"
"But this dojo is huge!" whined Runo.
"Aw come on Runo, a little jog wouldn't hurt yea," said Dan before looking over at Lita. "Hey, we'll be heading over to where Darien is working at."
"Darien is here? Where?" asked Lita.
"A resort that's almost across the road. It's going to get packed soon and we've volunteered to help out," replied Shun.
Lita nodded, "Alright, but come back before dinner. Just enough time to run around the dojo."
"We will. Have a nice run, Runo," Alice waved before followed Dan and Shun back inside in the dojo to change clothes.
"What?! No fair!" Runo whined.
Lita shook her head then looked down sadly, ignoring the bluenette's whining. 'Why…Why did I get beaten by that cement head? I…I have to get stronger…I have to.'
-Serena's house-
"Oh hey, it's a letter from Lita," said Serena as she was looking at the post. She opened the letter, "She says that her, Runo and Alice are working really hard on their training while Dan and Shun are doing well."
"That's good to hear," said Luna. "Once Runo and Alice regain their bond with their bakugan, they will be able to transform."
Serena nodded before turning over the letter and squealed, happily. She smiled, "Hey! They're near at the hotel where Darien's part-time job is!"
"What? You don't say," said Luna.
"Yea, now we can visit all of them," said Serena then giggled, "What a lucky coincidence! Oh, I've got to tell the others about this!"
Luna sighed, dramatically, "Oh boy…"
An hour later, all the girls and Marucho were sitting at a train heading to the training retreat dojo. Everyone was watching Serena and Julie stuffing their faces with food.
"Oh, this is great! Train food is the best part of traveling," said Serena between bites. "Don't you think so guys?"
"You better watch it if you want to get some in your mouth," said Raye. "Everyone, get your hands and feet away from her."
"And here I thought that Dan was a manic about food," said Marucho before looking over at Julie. He sighed, "Never mind, I stand corrected."
"Oh, come on Marucho. This is like the best train food I have ever tasted!" Julie giggled. Everyone shook their heads just as Luna and Artemis came out from the bags.
"We're hungry too, Serena," said Luna.
"Come on Mina, give us some food," said Artemis.
"Okay," said both before dropping them two fired shrimp in their open mouths.
"So, how did Rini take it when you explain to her that she had to stay with your mom?" asked Raye.
"Oh, um…just fine," said Serena, smiled nervously. "She knows I'm her future mother so she treats me with respect and really listens to me."
"That's not how I remember," murmured Luna. Before leaving, Rini was shouting at Serena loudly that she wanted to go, but couldn't. That's when Rini throws her bag at Serena's face before going back inside the house.
The girls and Marucho were unsure as Serena laughed nervously before a blue bag fell on her head. After half an hour, they arrive at their destination.
"The guide book says there's an awesome hotel somewhere around here with great perks for kings and queens," said Serena.
Julie looked around before spotting a huge white building. She jumped, "Oh found it and man it looks absolutely fabulous!"
"Wow, it looks nice," said Mina.
"So, why don't we stay there, guys?" Serena asked.
"Hey, the reason we're here is to see how Lita, Alice and Runo are doing," said Raye before frowning. "I mean Lita did leave rather quickly with Runo, Alice, Dan and Shun. We should find them first before deciding to stay at the hotel."
"You're right Raye, but since it's in the neighborhood, it won't matter where we stay. The point is that we're here to help our friends," Serena smiled, innocently.
"Wow, I'm impressed you got the point Serena," said Raye.
"Well, I really don't care where we stay as long as I'm able to study," said Amy.
"The same with me," said Marucho.
"I don't mind staying at the resort as long as I get my sunbath," said Mina and Julie agreed.
"Alright then, it's settled," said Serena, happily.
"Stop!" Luna got out of the bag, "The jig is up Serena. Don't fall for her sneaky tricks, everyone."
"What tricks are you up to now, Serena?" Raye asked.
"N-No tricks," stuttered Serena.
"You see, Darien actually has a part-time job at that hotel," stated Luna.
"Wait, Shun mention to me about Darien's new job," said Marucho.
"Really? That's like so cool! Do you think we can get a discount?" said Julie, excitedly.
"You mean to tell me that all you want to do was to see Darien?!" Raye asked.
"Was your motivation entirely selfish?" Amy asked.
"That's low, Serena," said Marucho.
"Wow, talk about one-sided mind," said Preyas, jumping on Marucho's shoulder.
"Is this true?" Mina asked.
"Um, well…not exactly…you see – I really want to help our friends, but I really want to see Darien, so I thought that…um, well…"
"Oh, like I know what you mean," said Julie, smiling. "Kill two birds in one stone, right?"
"That's right Julie!" Serena wrapped her arm around the silver hair girl, "See Julie gets it."
"Oh no you two," Raye grabbed the both of them, "We came here to help our friends so let's go!"
"Aw come on!" whined Julie and Serena.
They found the pathway leading to the retreat which was a long stone stairway up to the top of a hill. Serena made a face before all of them started to climb.
"I wonder how many steps there are," wondered Mina, slight tired.
"Too many that's all I know," said Raye, tiredly.
"We're almost…there guys," said Amy, tiredly.
"Oh, come on a bit more guys – hurry up!" said Julie, who's in the lead.
Mina had a tired look, "How in the world can she run in these steps?"
"She lives in the desert and exercises the same amount as Dan and Shun," replied Marucho before going down. "My feet feel like they're about to fall."
Julie ran down to Marucho before picking him up. She smiled, "Let me help you out, Marucho. Hang on! That includes you, Preyas!"
"You don't have to tell me twice," said Preyas, dramatically and hid inside Marucho's hoodie. Julie started to run up the stairway, leaving the others behind.
"I can't…find my pulse," whined Serena, tiredly.
"Whose bright idea…was this again?" Mina asked.
"Come on, let's not forget this is all for our friends," reminded Raye.
Everyone sighed, dramatically and continued climbing up. With another ten minutes, they reached to the top, but all of them were lying on the ground or taking deep breathes.
Julie, who was waiting for them, spotted Runo and Lita. While Marucho was giving the girls some water, Julie was titling her head. "Why are they hitting that tree? Oh well – HEY RUNO, LITA! WE'RE HERE!"
"Wha – Julie?! Guys?" said Runo as she and Lita stopped.
"What in the world are you guys doing here?" Lita asked as she and Runo walked up to them.
"We've came all the way out here to help you guys out," replied Serena.
"Oh well, the more the merrier I guess," said Lita.
"So, where's Dan? Is he nearby?" Julie asked, looking around.
"Actually, the boys and Alice are not here at the moment," replied Lita.
"Wait, what do you mean?" asked Raye. "They couldn't just stop their training."
Lita laughed, "No, they finished for today. They went over to the hotel across the road to help Darien, who works there. I believe Alice and Dan should be back soon."
Serena was about to say something when a man came jumping over them and dashed inside the dojo.
"Oh wow," murmured Mina.
"Amazing, right?" said Lita, slightly blushing. "He runs up all those stairs and around the mountain at least 20 times a day. Dan and Shun were quite impressed for his determination."
Serena smirked, "Sounds like you taken a liking to this bald eagle guy, aren't yea?"
Lita's face turned tomato red, "What? No, you got it all wrong, Serena!"
Everyone laughed before hearing familiar voices, calling out to them.
"Hey guys, surprise seeing you all here," said Dan.
"Dan, Alice. Well, we thought there might be some way to help Alice, Run and…you know," said Raye, pointing at Lita.
"She's doing alright?" Mina whispered.
Alice frowned, "Now that you mention it, she's determined to get stronger. She came here for that reason and remembered that Runo and I needed some training as well."
Dan grinned, "Then, she invited me and Shun."
"Where is Shun?" Amy asked.
"He stayed behind with Darien. The resort is going to be packed tomorrow," replied Alice. "I believe it's going to be a conference of some sort."
"Shun told me to finish up Alice's training," said Dan, taking out his gate card. "Ready Alice cause I'm not going easy on yea."
"Let's go Dan," said Alice, taking out her gate card as well.
"Um, what are they going to do?" Raye asked.
"They're going to brawl," replied Marucho as he and Julie took out their gate cards.
"A brawl? You mean the ones back in your dimension?" Serena asked after stop teasing Lita and slightly heard what Dan said.
"That's right!" said Julie, quickly grabbed Mina's hand. "Hold on if you want to see the battle."
The girls had a confused looks on their faces. Marucho grabbed Amy's hand while he told Serena to place her hand onto his head. Raye was about to say something when Runo and Lita came back.
"Grab my hand Raye," said Runo, taking out her gate card. Raye nodded as she holds the bluenette's hand while Lita placed hers on the bluenette's shoulder.
"Field open!"
Suddenly, the cards glowed and surrounded everyone. Unknown to the scouts, the people around the area were frozen in time.
"Oh wow, where are we?" Serena asked while the scouts were amazed.
"Marucho?" said Amy.
"This place is where the bakugan battles take place," started Marucho as he adjusted his glasses. He showed his gate card, "This card allows us to enter this place between dimensions, allowing the bakugan to fight."
"Like once the battle starts, the players cannot get out until someone wins," continued Julie.
"The player with three wins is the winner," finished Runo.
"Oh…I think…I get it," said Lita. While Raye and Amy understood a bit, Serena and Mina were slightly confused.
"Just watch," said Runo.
"Gate card set!"
"Ok, let's go! Bakugan brawl, Drago stand!"
"Right, bakugan brawl, Hydranoid stand!"
Dan 0/3 vs. Alice 0/3
Drago 400G and Hydra 500G
Serena and the scouts screamed when the two balls turned into two giant dragons.
"Now, I know why Dan named his bakugan Drago," said Lita, nervously.
"They're huge," said Mina.
"Is your bakugan like that as well, Marucho?" Amy asked.
Marucho nodded, "In the human dimension, the bakugan cannot stay in their true form. They stay in their sphere form until they are called into battle."
"Only in their world, New Vestroia can the bakugan be in their true form since it has the requirements for them," said Alice.
"Incredible," murmured Serena.
"But, why does Dan have to battle her?" Raye asked.
"My guess is that Alice has never really battled with Hydra. It was Masquerade that used him," replied Marucho.
"Like that's totally right. It's no wonder Alice can't transform. She has no real connection with Hydra at all," said Julie. Serena and the scouts were confused.
"We'll explain later," said Runo.
"Right Alice, let's see what you got," said Dan.
Alice smiled, "Alright, ability card activate, Indigo Nightmare!"
"It's been a while Drago that we've fought. Don't let me down," said Hydra before letting out a dark energy from his mouth.
Drago: 400G
Hydra: 500G to 800G
"Oh, we're not. Ability card activate, Burning Dragon!" said Dan.
"Get ready Hydra," said Drago, firing a huge fireball to the Darkus bakugan.
Drago: 400G to 600G
Hydra: 800G to 600G
"Looks like they have the same power guys," said Marucho, but the scouts were confused.
"Um, a little help here," said Serena.
"Oh, sorry," said Marucho. "See, when Alice activated her ability card, it gave Hydra 300G which totals up to 800G, but when Dan counter it with his ability card, it transferred from Hydra's power by 200G which totaled Drago's power up to 600G."
"Basically, they have the same power," said Runo.
"Oh," said the scouts.
Both dragons attack each other, but Drago's strength was a bit stronger. Drago's fireball hit Hydra's chest which caused the Darkus dragonoid to return back to his ball form.
Dan 1/3 vs. Alice 0/3
"Not bad, Alice. Even though you didn't brawl, you still know what to do," said Dan.
"I guess Masquerade left some brawling knowledge to me before he disappeared," said Alice.
Dan grinned, "Guess so, ready?"
"Let's go! Battle brawl, Hydranoid stand!"
"Battle brawl, Drago stand!"
Drago: 400G and Hydra: 500G
"Not bad. Still have some fight in you after all this time," said Drago.
"Never underestimate me, Drago," Hydra chuckled, "Looks like splitting half of your power didn't affect you at all."
"Let's go, gate card open!" said Dan as the floor began to glow red.
Drago: 400G to 550G
Hydra: 500G
"I don't think so! Ability card activate, Chaos Leap Sting!" said Alice.
Drago: 550G to 350G
Hydra: 500G to 600G
"This is going to hurt, Drago," said Hydra.
"Don't underestimate me either," Drago smirked, "You should know that by know Hydra."
"Fusion ability activate, Pyrus Slayer!" said Dan.
Drago: 350G to 650G
Hydra: 600G to 500G
Dan 2/3 vs. Alice 0/3
"Oh, I was so close this time," said Alice.
Dan laughed, "True, but you're giving me one heck of a fight. I really have to use my strongest ability cards to counter yours."
"Well, I guess I have to try harder then. Shall we?" said Alice.
"Let's, brawl! Drago/Hydra stand!"
Drago: 400ԍ and Hydra: 500ԍ
"This time I'm not going to lose, Drago," said Hydra.
"We'll see about that, Hydra," said Drago.
"Ability card activate, Last and Blast Extreme!" said Alice.
Drago: 400G
Hydra: 500G to 650G
"Ability card activate, Burning Dragon!" countered Dan.
Drago: 400G to 600G
Hydra: 650G to 450G
"Not this time, Dan! Gate card open!" said Alice as the floor glowed purple.
Drago: 600G to 500G
Hydra: 450G to 550G
Dan was about to activate an ability when Alice interrupted. "And that's not all – ability card activate, Death Trident!"
Drago: 500G to 200G
Hydra: 550G
Dan 2/3 vs. Alice 1/3
"Way to go girl!" praised Julie.
"That was great, Alice," cheered Runo.
"Alright Alice. Dan, keep up the good work," said Marucho. With some explanation from the brawlers, the scouts cheered for Alice's win.
Dan grinned, "Ready for another round, Alice?"
"You kidding me, I'm just getting started here," said Alice.
The two continued to brawl for another few minutes until Dan took his last win and everyone returned to the retreat entrance.
"So, what you girls think about our bakugan brawls?" Marucho asked.
"That was – amazing!" said Lita as Serena and Mina nodded, excitedly.
"Well, it looks like you need a strategy on how to beat your opponent," said Amy and Raye agreed, silently.
"So, is Dan your leader?" Mina asked.
"He sure is!" said Julie, happily. She ran up to the brunette and hugged him, "And the strongest."
"Hey, get the hell away from him!" Runo snapped.
Julie took out her tongue, "Back off sister! He's mine remember!"
"No, he's not!" Runo shouted as she grabbed Dan's arm.
"Not again," murmured Marucho.
"Hey guys, you're going to dislocate my shoulder if you do that!" Dan said while Julie and Runo were pulling him.
"Mina," said Lita.
"Yea, I'm coming," said Mina.
Lita and Mina walked to each girl and pulled them away from the brunette while Serena walked over to Dan, who was on the ground.
"Are you going to be alright, Dan?" Serena asked.
Dan laughed, "Yea, don't worry. Julie and Runo always do that, but man I'm going to feel this in the morning."
"There's a cold spring nearby. You can relax there if you like," said Lita.
"Oh nice, let's go then," said Dan, wincing a bit.
"Sure…Runo, you're coming as well," said Lita.
"Wait, why?" Runo asked.
Lita smirking, "I get the feeling you wouldn't be able to move tomorrow if you don't."
"Relax, will yea. Besides, you'll need it since Alice doesn't really need much training," said Dan, crossing his arms. "All she needs is to form a connection with Hydra and so far, she's doing great."
"But I have a connection with Tigrerra, so why can't I transform?" Runo asked, annoyed.
"Runo, remember that you stopped brawling for a while," said Marucho, sadly.
"And that made your bond with Tigrerra weak," said Dan.
Runo opened her mouth, but closed it, "…right. Let's go then."
"Meet you all back inside the dojo. It shouldn't take long," said Lita.
Everyone nodded before they went inside while Lita, Dan and Runo went to the spring. There they find the same bald man standing under the waterfall with his eyes closed.
"Hey, Shun and I did the same thing back at his grandfather's dojo," said Dan. He stepped into the spring and carefully placed himself under the waterfall next to the bald man.
"Mm, looks simple enough" murmured Runo. But the moment she and Lita stepped into the spring, they felt how freezing the water is.
"Oh man, why does the water have to be so cold during this time of year," murmured Lita before shaking off the shivering. She walked over to the bald man, "Hey, you don't mind if we join you?"
Even though he didn't say nothing, Lita thought it was fine since Dan was standing next to him. Lita and Runo shrugged and like Dan, carefully went under the waterfall, but quickly stepped out as it was damn freezing cold.
"How in the world can you do it, Dan?" said Runo, shivering.
Dan opened one eye, "Ignore the cold. This is all about endurance," he turned his head to the bald man, "Though…he's about to step out soon."
Lita and Runo were confused before stepping back when the bald man stepped out of the waterfall. He gave out a sheepish smile, "Good guess. The name's Kakkasui."
"I'm Dan and my friends, Lita and Runo," greeted Dan before stepping away when Kakkasui sneezed. "Hey, watch where you sneeze, man."
"Sorry. I guess I was standing there longer than I thought," said Kakkasui.
"I'll say," murmured Dan as Lita laughed a bit.
"Can we head back inside? Please," begged Runo, shivering. "It's getting really cold out here!"
"Aw come on Runo, don't be like that," said Dan.
Kakkasui smiled before closing his eyes, "There's no other way, but this one that makes the most of me, so I'll go this way. That's my favorite motto."
"Mm, interesting motto," said Dan.
"Weird one if you ask me," murmured Runo.
"I follow that motto, but when things go wrong, I myself not sure what to choose, but I think that's life. Things go wrong or right," said Kakkasui, walking out of the spring.
"You? Second guess yourself?" said Lita in disbelief.
Kakkasui laughed, "Why stop there. I even third guess myself sometimes."
Dan, Runo and Lita laughed but unknown to them, at the top was Eugeal looking down at them, but mostly at Kakkasui. "I've located the target."
-Training Dojo Retreat, night-
"Well, that was pointless! I'm still beat and now I'm freaking cold," whined Runo as she lied down. "Remind me again, why do we have to train?"
"You need to reconnect with your bakugan, and you need to learn on how to fight as well," said Luna, sighing. "Didn't Dan and Shun explain it to you?"
"They did, but sometimes Runo complains when she's frustrated," said Alice.
"I do not," said Runo.
"Oh yes you do," teased Julie, leaning to Runo. "Don't you remember how we've gotten lost in that cavern while looking for the Infinity core? You were all like shouting that we were lost and you wanted to get out of there."
Runo gritted her teeth, "Because we were lost and what were you doing? Flirting with Dan! You were supposed to be helping us throughout the cave!"
Julie whispered to Alice, "Not only she's a complainer, but a loudmouth."
Runo was about to snap when Raye stopped her.
"You really need to control that temper of yours Runo. Don't you remember how you lost your temper at our school? Let's not make a repeat of it."
Runo sighed, "Yea…sorry."
"And here I thought I had to scold Runo once again. Thank you, Raye," said Tigrerra.
Raye nodded before looking at Lita, "So, why did you start training so suddenly? You just called and said you'll be going to this retreat, taking Runo, Alice and the boys too."
"Um, well…I'm not so sure myself Raye," Lita sighed, "I guess…I needed to clear my mind on certain things, that's all."
"Lita, we're your friends. If there's something troubling you, then you can tell us," Raye said.
"That's right. You shouldn't worry about things all on your own as you have us to help you out," said Serena.
"Well, in your case Serena, it wouldn't hurt you if you worried a little more," said Raye.
"What me worry. If you ask me, you should be the one who should be worried," said Serena as she throws her pillow at her.
"Why you – take that!" said Raye, throwing Serena's pillow back to her, but instead she hits Mina instead.
Mina gritted her teeth before throwing the pillow right back, but she missed and instead Runo was hit. "That's it!" snapped Runo and throws the pillows to Mina and Julie.
"Ah! My hair!" shouted Julie before glaring at Runo. "Take this!"
Runo yelped before ducking in time, but not so lucky for Amy who was reading. As the pillow dropped off her face, Amy stayed still for a bit before grabbing the pillow and throws it back.
Luna, Artemis and the bakugan fled from the scene and went to Dan's and Marucho's room. The two boys had the door open incase Shun comes back, but were surprised to see the two cats and the bakugan enter. That's when they can hear some kind of commotion next door.
"Hey, what's going on over there?" Dan asked.
"It's a pillow war Dan," said Luna.
Dan and Marucho looked at each other before leaving their room and walked over to the girl's room. Dan was about to slide opened the door when Hydra stopped him.
"Trust me Daniel, you don't want to go in there."
"How bad can it be?" Marucho asked. He stood next to Dan, who was about to reach for the door when Marucho spotted Shun. "Hey, Shun."
"Marucho? What are you doing here?" Shun asked. That's when he spotted the cats and the bakugans, "The others are here too? Why?"
"Serena and the others came for moral support," replied Dan. "Not only that, but to see what's wrong with Lita."
Shun closed his eyes, "For Lita, I say it has something to do with the fight with that heart snatcher. I mean Lita was beaten quite bad. It must've broken her pride."
"Most likely," said Dan.
"So…why are you two standing here at the hallway?" Shun wondered.
"The kitty cat says there's a massive pillow war in there," said Preyas, dramatically.
"You don't say," murmured Shun. He walked in front of Dan and slide the door opened, but the moment he did, he was hit by a stray pillow.
"Told you," murmured Luna.
"I'm not sticking around," said Drago, jumping down from Dan's shoulder. He and the other bakugans went with Luna and Artemis to find a good hiding spot.
The girls stopped upon seeing the boys at the doorway.
"Um, Shun?" said Runo and Julie, nervously while Alice stayed silent.
Shun's eyebrow twitched before grabbing a stray pillow. He glared at them, "You know…this means war."
"Hit the deck!" shouted Runo and the other girls followed.
Dan and Marucho helped Shun by throwing pillows at their friends. Luna and Artemis with the bakugans were hiding behind the door.
"This is madness," said Preyas.
"These girls can go nuts, but this is just childish, right Luna?" said Artemis, but noticed she was looking emotional. "Luna, what's wrong?"
"Mm – oh! Nothing! It just…Artemis, doesn't this feel…I don't know…familiar?" Luna asked.
"Mm, now that you mention it…it does," said Artemis.
"Strange. How can this be familiar to you?" Drago asked.
"I…have no idea Drago," said Luna.
The guardian cats and bakugans dropped the idea and watched their partners have a nice relaxing pillow fight which by the way, the boys were winning.

Next time Lita is training with Alice while the other headed to the hotel to see Dan and Shun helping Darien out before trouble start brewing once again.
