Harrison Hightower III was wandering around Tokyo DisneySea once the park closed. That was when he thought he saw his reflection in the mirror.
It wasn't.
It was a photo of someone else. With a goatee, a receding hairline, and a freakish looking earring stretching out his earlobe.
But it looked just like him. To the point it disturbed him, far more than the encounter with Shiriki Utundu ever did.
Even more creepy was the deja-vu. He felt just like he'd met him before.
Harrison had to know - who was this mysterious doppelgänger?
It was Joe Rohde. Who was Harrison.
Then-Imagineer Joe Rohde was the model for Harrison Hightower III in the Tower of Terror attraction. Not only that, he also played him. And he helped design the attraction.
He is very famous for his earring. If you've never seen it, just Google "Joe Rohde" and you'll see it.
He wasn't just an imagineer, but also an adventurer and he travels the world.
From his Wikipedia: "Rohde's trademark is a large collection of earrings he wears in his left ear, all of which are souvenirs from decades of travel to remote corners of the world."
Other stuff he's famous for: Aulani Resort in Hawai'i (where he's from), the Guardians of the Galaxy Mission Breakout, Disney's Animal Kingdom, Avatar Land, DinoLand USA - the mascot for the Dino Institute is a styracosaur because it's Joe Rohde's favourite dinosaur. Also he's responsible for the Disco Yeti. And he played Dreamfinder in EPCOT. No, he didn't voice Dreamfinder, he played him in live action.
In case you couldn't tell, I'm a huge fan of his work!
