Being a scientist was hard word and did not pay well. Most of the time, Grant Seeker felt like his full name was a cruel joke and oddly prophetic.
However, there were times Grant didn't think about his name. Or his job.
With a dinosaur pet - uh, specimen - there weren't really many places he could take time out and visit.
One place he could go, though, was the amusement park next door, Chester and Hester's Dino-Rama.
It wasn't up to much. It had a wild mouse ride, an aerial carousel ride, and a few carnival games. But it was nice for a day off.
Like today.
Grant was at the Dino-Rama with his nephew, Will, the son of his brother. Also a palaeontologist. As was his sister in law. And his parents. Okay, Grant's entire family were palaeontologists.
So the Dino-Rama should have been offensive. And yet it wasn't.
It was wrong in parts, sure. And it annoyed Grant, of course. And Chester and Hester were incredibly parsimonious.
But Grant couldn't hate it.
If one kid went there and took away a love of and fascination with dinosaurs, that was more than good enough for him - it was worth it.
This is it, the penultimate fic in my Disney Parks series. Only one left now. We've almost made it to my Disney Parks vacation!
Let's go!
And, I can imagine going on vacation and taking days off would be incredibly difficult when you're the only person in the entire world specialised enough to take care of a whole iguanodon. Why not go to the amusement park next door?
Did you know that the guy who plays Grant Seeker plays Hodges in CSI?
Yeah, neither did I until I was channel hopping and was like "wait, Dr Seeker?!"
