Summary: At seventeen years of age, Atreus and his father found themselves in another realm, one that was unfortunately filled with the less crazy, but irritating versions of the gods they had slain. Can they live their life in peace? Or the supernatural world of DxD will be forced to know the full might of THE God of War? Atreus will try to make sure that won't happen… anytime soon at least.

The story will focus on Atreus, with Kratos being a side-character most of the time.

Son of War

Chapter 16

"Hey Rias, is it really okay to let them do this?"

Atreus couldn't help but ask, even though he was feeling more interested than concerned as he made his way over to Rias and stood with her on the other side of the dome shaped barrier that Akeno had just finished setting up for the fight that was about to take place in the schoolyard just right outside the old school building of Kuoh academy.

Earlier that afternoon, Atreus had arrived at the clubroom of the occult research club a bit later than usual, having had to stay behind after school was over to help his classmates do the schedule cleaning of their classroom. He also had had to meet with his homeroom teacher, who wanted to ask him if he would like to skip the rest of the year and go straight to college, something that she and the other teachers had been discussing for quite some time now and wanted to talk to his father about it as well. The answer for such a question was something Atreus had been holding on to, since he did not go to high school to study, and simply for the enjoyment of it… especially when he now had genuine friends he could hang around with…

… not to mention that he highly doubted that his father would ever put on a proper suit and show up at school to talk to his teachers about his academic progress. The idea made Atreus laugh in his mind almost all the time.

Regardless, even while cleaning the desks in his classroom, Atreus couldn't help but have the feeling that something was going on in the old school building. His feeling proved to be correct, which it did most of the time so he wasn't surprised, when he walked into the clubroom and saw Issei and Kiba glaring at their guests, one of whom appeared to be a blue haired young woman, whose name was Xenovia, wielding in her hand a broadsword that Atreus later found out was one of the holy swords Excalibur.

Her partner, Irina Shidou, who Atreus later discovered to be Issei's childhood friend, also carried with her an Excalibur. Although she did not look as threatened as her blue haired partner, the girl also appeared to be more than ready to defend herself against Issei and Kiba and fight the two boys, albeit somewhat reluctantly, using her holy weapon.

As Rias tried to calm the four of them down and keep her servants from getting themselves hurt, Akeno had taken him over to her corner and given him a quick summary of what was happening. She had told him that Xenovia and Irina were exorcists who were sent by the Church on a mission to retrieve three other Excalibur swords, which apparently had been stolen by Kokabiel, one of the leaders of the fallen angels, and his followers.

While Atreus could see the logic of using Excalibur to fight Excalibur in the situation that Kokabiel somehow managed to wield them, or have subordinates that could use them, which wasn't that unlikely, he had no idea who had permitted Xenovia and Irina to bring those weapons of theirs with them. Even someone half as smart as a troll could see that it was the stupidest move, since Kokabiel had stolen three Excalibur, and he would be a fool not wanting the rest, for whatever reasons he had stolen them for. Atreus had zero idea how powerful a fragment of Excalibur could be, but he could easily tell that even together the two would be no match for a Cadre of Grigori, and they would just be giving their swords to Kokabiel for free.

Regardless, because of the nature of their mission, they had quickly come into contact with the devils in charge of Kuoh, with Sona arranging a meeting between them and Rias. Of course, the Gremory heiress had offered them some help, so long as she and her servants wouldn't have to be involved in the direct conflict between Kokabiel and the Church, but Xenovia and Irina had declined. The reason that they had wanted to meet Rias and Sona, was because they wanted the devils to stay out of their way, something that Rias had been more than happy to agree to.

Things would have ended peacefully there, if it weren't for the fact that Xenovia and Irina had taken notice of Asia before they left, ending up insulting her and threatening to kill her because, despite what she had done against the teaching, she still believed in it and God. Issei of course did not take kindly to it, and decided to challenge the two girls so he could beat them up for what they said and tried to do to Asia.

Kiba, who bore a strong grudge toward Excalibur for what had happened to him in the past, had been quick to join force with Issei, leaving Rias with no choice but to allow a 'friendly fight' to take place outside, so long as the four did not try to seriously hurt each other, which Xenovia and Irina had promised to after accepting Kiba' challenge. The two wished to test the strength of Rias' servants, and their own abilities against Kiba.

"Yeah, I don't see why not. Should let them blow off some steam." Rias answered him honestly, even though she looked slightly worried, and somewhat annoyed "Plus, this is also a good chance for me to see if Issei and Yuuto can hold their own against serious threats like wielders of the powerful holy swords Excalibur. Akeno and I can step in if things get out of hand, but we have Asia, so we don't really have to worry about injuries too much afterwards."

"Well, that's true…" Atreus said. The fight actually did not concern him as much as the fact that Xenovia and Irina seemed to believe that Kokabiel and his followers were hiding somewhere in Kuoh.

The timing couldn't have been worse since his father had just returned from a business trip with his group, and Atreus knew better than anyone that the man did not take kindly to those who might threaten them.

And he had heard from Aphrodite that among the leaders of the fallen angels, Kokabiel, a bloodthirsty warmonger himself, was the one who was most likely to try to do something incredibly stupid. He was sure that his father wouldn't have any trouble handling the situation if he somehow encountered them, but the man wasn't known for his discretion, and careful management of his surroundings.

"How is Yuuto holding up?" Atreus then asked, gesturing his head toward the knight of Rias Gremory, who looked at her servant for a moment before saying.

"Not too well. I talked to him… but those two girls showing up with their Excalibur made him turn back to the way he was a few days ago." The crimson haired heiress answered honestly with a sigh, making Atreus nod his head in understanding.

"Well, at least you tried." Atreus said with an encouraging smile, reaching his hand out and grabbing Rias' shoulder in a comforting manner before continuing, telling her an idea that he had had for a while now "Say, can you bring him to my house later as you come to my house tonight?"

"Hmm, why?" Rias couldn't help but ask, as she and Akeno looked at Atreus curiously.

"I think I know someone who can help him with his vengeful thoughts." Atreus said with a small chuckle. It might be a good idea, but it was the best idea that he had at the moment.

Because when it came to vengeance, no one knew it better than his father.

"Very well then…" Rias nodded her head, before turning back to the four standing inside the barrier, asking them loudly "So, is everyone ready?"

Nodding their heads to her, Xenovia and Irina took off their white robes, getting Issei all excited because their identical uniform was skin tight and allowed the two to show off their fit, quite attractive bodies, almost forgetting that he was about to fight one of them.

"Remember, try not to kill each other." She then added, before giving the signal for them to start. Instantly, Kiba activated his sword birth and created numerous swords on the ground around him, picking up two before dashing toward Xenovia, who was a little surprised by his speed, but still could raise her Excalibur and block his weapon with relative ease before returning the favor with her own sword strikes.

On the other side, Issei had engaged Irina in a fight that was looking to be quite one sided. Irina could see that the chestnut haired girl wasn't as skilled with the sword as Xenovia, but Issei was probably the weakest fighter of the four, so she really had no trouble making him run around to avoid getting cut by her Excalibur, which had the power to mimic any form that she wished.

But while evading Irina's weapon, Issei did not have the fight of someone being pushed into a corner. In fact, he had a wide, lecherous smirk on his face as he kept doubling up his power.

"Ugh… he's probably thinking about using Dress Break on those two." Rias said with a deadpan expression while rubbing her temper.

"Dress Break?" Atreus couldn't help but ask, repeating the words while looking at Rias curiously.

"It's a technique that Issei-kun has recently developed." Akeno then answered him with a small, amused laugh, covering her mouth with a hand "It allows him to strip women off their clothing by just coming into contact with them. A slight touch appears to be enough, apparently."

"What?"

"I know." Rias replied, sighing longingly at the utterly confused look Atreus was having on his face.

"You really are the worst, senpai." Koneko remarked, sending the words at Issei, who felt like he had been stabbed through the heart by her statement. Irina, meanwhile, looked quite freaked out after hearing the technique that Issei looked like he was about to use on her, making her become more hesitant, and stop advancing toward him.

Before Atreus could make any actual comment toward Issei's weird, perverted technique, an explosion occurred and caused the ground beneath them to shake violently, though not enough to knock any of them, excluding Asia, off balance. Atreus looked over to the other side of the battlefield and raised his eyebrow slightly when he saw Xenovia standing in the center of a larger crater, with her sword stabbing into the ground beneath her.

"This is the power of my Excalibur." Xenovia said as she slowly stood up, with Kiba doing the same thing after having lost his balance due to the destructive force behind her weapon "It can destroy anything it touches, hence the name Excalibur Destruction."

"I see… so even the most destructive swords that can be created by my Sacred Gear won't be a match to your Excalibur. And it's not even the real one."

Kiba said while smiling bitterly, creating another sword in hand, as all of his previous weapons had been destroyed the moment Xenovia swung her blade at them and forced Kiba to block. It was only thanks to his superior speed that he was able to avoid those violent swings of the blue haired girl. The two then engaged each other once again in an intense sword fight, with Kiba keeping on creating and picking up new weapons every time Xenovia destroyed the ones that he was wielding.

Irina, who had regained her confidence after Xenovia's display of destructiveness, charged toward Issei at an even greater speed than before, shocking the boy who was nowhere near as fast as she was. Though, out of pure luck, he was able to avoid his childhood friend's swing, rolling to the side and giving himself just enough time to build up even more power within his Boosted Gear.

[Boost!]

"Alright! Let's go Boosted Gear!"

[Explosion!]

With that cheer and another announcement of his Sacred Gear, the boy appeared to have built up enough power within him to use that Dress Break technique of his, making him confidently charge at Irina to try to undress her.

"Sorry to undress you."

"Wahh… why are you so…" Irina cried out in surprise and jumped back, trying her best to avoid direct contact with Issei as the boy kept on running toward her with a lecherous laugh, like a young girl trying to run away from a molester. Issei did not look like he would give up anytime soon, however. His perverted intent appeared to push him beyond his normal limits, allowing him to move even faster than before and keep up with Irina.

"So you said devils were driven by their desires, right?" Atreus asked with a sweat drop, and Rias nodded her head in response, not needing Atreus to ask more to know the full meaning behind his question as they continued to watch Issei chasing after Irina to strip her with his technique.

And he almost succeeded, if it weren't for the chestnut haired girl waiting for the last possible moment and jumping out of the way before he could touch him, causing Issei to go with his momentum toward Asia and Koneko, who weren't fast enough to react to Issei at the speed that he was moving.

"Well, should have seen this coming." Atreus said, and raised his foot to kick Issei away from the two girls. The kick wasn't strong enough to seriously hurt him, but it was still strong enough to send him flying into a bush not too far away from them.

"Thank you, Atreus-senpai."

Koneko, who understood what could have happened if Issei had touched her clothes, gave Atreus a grateful nod of her head, while Asia looked like she wanted to rush to her crush's side to check on him as he slowly picked himself up from the bush Atreus had kicked him into. With an encouraging nod and a gesture of Atreus' head, the girl finally found the courage to do just that.

"Well, the other fight seems to have ended as well." Rias said, making Atreus look at Kiba and Xenovia, the former of whom was standing with a broken broadsword in his hand, looking like he had accepted his defeat at the blade of an Excalibur.

"Senpai, I suggest that you keep your head cool the next time we clash our blade." Xenovia said as she put her Excalibur Destruction away, wrapping it in sealing cloth that concealed its intense holy aura before turning to Rias "Rias Gremory, I trust that you will hold your words to the promise that you have made earlier."

"You don't have to worry about it." Rias replied to the blue haired exorcist simply, before nodding her head to Akeno and allowing her to lower the barrier around them down.

"By the way, Sekiryuutei." Xenovia then looked at Issei, who had gotten back up on his feet with Asia's help and told him "The vanishing dragon has already awakened. You better train more or as you are right now, you will get killed by them in an instance."

Her statement made Issei widen his eyes in surprise.

"Let's leave, Irina."

"Wait for me, Xenovia." Irina called and then ran after her partner, who walked away, transforming her weapon into a robe that she tied around her. Before she left, however, she did not forget to give her childhood friend some last few words "See ya, Issei-kun. If you ever want to be judged, then feel free to come see me, okay?"

"Thanks, but no thanks." Issei scoffed, but Irina simply winked cutely at him before leaving with Xenovia.

It was only after the two had left that Issei looked at Atreus, who simply crossed his arms on his chest and asked.

"Damnit senpai, did you have to kick me that hard?"

"Yes." Atreus answered simply with a casual nod of his head before looking at Rias, signaling her to follow him with a wave of his hand before saying "Come on, Rias. If we don't have anything else to do here then let's go to my place. You too, Yuuto." The blonde knight widened his eyes in surprise at that, before nodding his head and making his swords disappear to follow him and his master.

They were soon caught up, however, by Akeno, who had a pleasant smile on her face as she walked beside Atreus and asked him.

"Say, Atreus-kun, can I tag along back to your house as well?"

She asked him, making Atreus and Rias widen their eyes in surprise while looking at her, but for different reasons.

Before he could ask anything, Akeno continued, hiding her smile behind her hand as she said "Oh, I know that it's not my turn to cook for you and your father. I simply wish to see how you are going to help Yuuto-kun out, that's all. I am all for lending Rias a hand in making dinner for you and your father if that's what it takes for me to come over to your house. And don't worry about the payment as well. I won't charge a penny."

"Huh, you really don't have to, but… my father also really likes your cooking, so I don't see why not?" Atreus replied to her with a shrug of his shoulder and a grin, before continuing to make his way back to the clubroom to grab his backpack, leaving Akeno to trail off behind him and walk alongside Rias, who crossed her arms and asked her best friend with an edge to her voice.

"What do you think you are doing, Akeno?"

"My, why so suspicious, Rias? I am merely offering to help you tonight. Is it too much for me to want to help my best friend out?" The black haired young woman asked with a soft giggle, making Rias glare at her and Atreus turn his head around to look at them for a moment before heading into the clubroom to grab his things.

After Rias had bid her goodbye and then reminded her other servants to be careful as there were exorcists and powerful fallen angels hiding somewhere in town, they all parted ways with each other, with Rias, Akeno and Kiba following Atreus to his house, stopping at a local grocery store for Rias and Akeno to buy extra ingredients to make dinner later tonight for them all, getting all competitive with the recipes that they had in mind.

"So, what I am trying to say is that you could have easily beaten Xenovia with just your techniques alone. Xenovia is skilled, but it's really not like you to lose to someone who swings her sword and leaves herself full of openings like that." Atreus pointed out the fact while drinking some energy drink with Kiba outside the store, waiting for the girls to finish their shopping.

"Yes, I understand that, senpai. I guess I was just too focus on leaving even a small dent on her sword that I forgot about its wielder." Kiba answered honestly with a sigh, making Atreus reach a hand out and pat him lightly on the shoulder before finishing his drink, just in time to see Rias and Akeno heading out of the store with two large bags in their hands.

After that, it did not take long for the four of them to reach Atreus' house, where his father was waiting for him to return, sitting alone in the living room watching the news and reading a newspaper. Both Rias and Akeno had gotten used to the sight of the man, so they were no longer surprised to see him.

Kiba, however, had never met the man before, having only heard about him from stories being told to him by his master so he was left in awe and bewilderment when he saw the man, not only because of his imposing figure and powerful aura that seemed to surround him, but because Kiba could see in him the mental strength and discipline that he had only seen from his master, Souji Okita, when he was in his most serious moment.

"So both Rias and Akeno will be cooking for us tonight. I think they want to compete to see who can cook better, so we will be their judges tonight as well, father."

"Hmm…"

Was the response that Kratos gave his son, but Atreus missed the knowing smirk that Kratos had on his face immediately after as he glanced over to Rias and Akeno as they made their ways into the kitchen together and checked the stuffs that they had bought from the grocery store.

"What about the boy?" Kratos then asked, looking over to Kiba, who immediately bowed his head to him. A single glance at those eyes of his was enough for the ashen skinned God of war to see that the boy was having troubles… trouble that he himself once had.

"This is Kiba Yuuto, he's a servant of Rias." Atreus decided to introduce first, gesturing his hand to Kiba, who raised his hand to speak to the man.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, sir." Kiba said, using the honorific that both Rias and Akeno had used to address Atreus' father.

After Kratos had given the boy an acknowledged nod of his head, Atreus then continued speaking, turning over to look at Kiba.

"Yuuto, why don't you sit down and have a chat with my father?" He suggested, and even Kratos looked slightly surprised by his son's question to the blonde haired young man standing next to him "And don't hesitate to tell him about your problem. Trust me when I say that of all the people in this world, my father is the one who can help you overcome it."

Atreus finished before looking at his father, who gave him a look before letting out a small sigh and nodding his head in understanding.

He did not need to ask to know what his son wanted to help his friend with.

"I…"

"Have a seat, boy." Kratos interrupted, with a hand gesturing toward the couch across from him, making Kiba look at him in surprise, hesitating for a moment before eventually gathering his courage to sit down in front of the ashen skinned man, whose firm look on his face continued to remain as he requested.

"Now, why don't you tell me a bit about yourself first."

At the same time, Atreus could feel his phone vibrating in the pocket of his pants, and took it out to see Aphrodite's name on the screen.

"Excuse me for a moment." Atreus told his father and Kiba with a finger pointing to his phone before leaving the room to head out to the hallway to answer the phone call, having a feeling that he would want to know why Aphrodite was calling him.

After making sure that he was out of everyone's hearing range, even that of his father because he did not want the man to know he would be talking to the very personification of trouble itself, Atreus touched the answer button on the screen of his phone and moved it to his ear, asking the goddess of love:

"Yes, I am listening."

"Ummm, Atreus…" Aphrodite began replying to him, in a somewhat nervous tone that Atreus had never heard from her before "A realm tear similar to the one you and your father emerged from just appeared outside Kuoh town."

"Wait, what?" Atreus could only ask in surprise before asking, knowing that he needed to go there as soon as possible. Whoever opened that rift between realms would cross at any moment "Where? I will get there as quickly as I can."

"Alright, sending you my location." After that, Aphrodite ended the call, and Atreus only had to wait a couple of seconds to receive Aphrodite's location with the map app on his phone. Though, even before he got the message, he had already left his house, running as fast as his feet could carry him before taking a small leap into the air when he reached a straight path and shapeshifting, taking on the form of a large, brown furred wolf that allowed him to move even faster than he already could in his human form, swiftly and agilely traversing the streets of Kuoh town while avoiding the eyes of mortals around him, remaining undetected and unseen through his speed and grace alone.

With the speed of his wolf form, it did not take it long for him to reach the location and find Aphrodite, who was standing in front of a gigantic, but rather unstable looking black void, appearing to be much larger than the one that Atreus and his father had opened to arrive in this world. He had seen tears like that

Leaping over a steel fence, Atreus then got to her side and shapeshifted back to his human, earning the attention of the goddess of love, who managed to catch a glimpse of his wolf form just before he turned back and couldn't help but ask him in surprise.

"Wait, were you a dog just now?"

"It's a wolf." Atreus told her with a deadpan expression, before turning his attention back to the rift between realms before them "Has anything on the other side shown signs of crossing over yet?"

"Not yet, I don't think." Aphrodite answered while shaking her head "Do you know anyone else from your world who can create this type of rift beside you?"

Before Atreus could answer her question, the mass of black void in front of them suddenly expanded significantly, becoming so much more unstable than before and causing both Atreus and Aphrodite to take several steps back in caution. Atreus himself instantly had his guard up, not wasting even a second to bring out his Yggdrasil bow and notching a silver arrow that he aimed at the rift before him and Aphrodite, bow string pulling back at the ready.

For the next few seconds, nothing happened, before suddenly a giant creature with grey and white fur, with large orange eyes leaped out of the tear, causing it to close. Aphrodite cried out in surprise and jumped out of the way, but Atreus chose to not do the same, lowering his bow down because he instantly recognized the creature the moment that its head emerged from the mass of black void, his eyes widening in surprise for a second before a huge smile spread out across his face, laughing wholeheartedly when the creature landed right in front of him and leaned down to give him an affectionate lick.

"Fenrir!" Atreus cheered as he looked at his giant pet wolf and walked to the side to pet him as he lowered his head down for his master to do just that, barking back happily while waving his tail around and looking at him in pure joy. "Good boy!"

"Fenrir?" Aphrodite asked in surprise before exclaiming in shock, and even fear "This is Fenrir?!"

"Well, yeah." Atreus said matter of factly with his hand gently rubbing the fur of Fenrir, shrugging his shoulder as he looked at Aphrodite, quite enjoying the shock and nervous look that she had on her face while looking at his pet wolf "I am Loki so you know… the only wolf that is associated with me can only be Fenrir. Or Skoll and Hati, but they can't create interdimensional rifts and travel between realms like Fenrir can."

"Fenrir can do what now?" Aphrodite asked in confusion, before shaking her head and gesturing both hands at Fenrir while speaking to Atreus "Never mind that, if this is the Fenrir of your world… Does that mean that he has god killing fangs too?"

"Of course he does. He is Fenrir after all." Atreus confirmed with a dark chuckle, making Aphrodite turn her gaze nervously at Fenrir "And don't point your hands at him. He gets angry all the time when strangers do that so casually."

"S-Sorry." Aphrodite nervously said, but then saw Fenrir simply tilted his head to the side and looked at her curiously, in a manner that wasn't unlike a friendly, good dog. She then turned back to Atreus, and saw him trying to hold back his laughter. "You little…"

"Relax, woman. You teased me all the time, and you cannot handle even a single time that I decide to return the favor?" Atreus questioned in amusement, making Aphrodite roll her eyes at him before reaching his hand up to pet Fenrir once again, with the giant wolf lowering his head down for him "Fenrir is a good boy, so he won't attack you unless you really give him a reason to. I honestly don't know if he has god killing fangs like the Fenrir of your world, but his bite is strong enough to even rip open the fabric of reality itself, so I guess he does have the power to kill gods."

Or Garm did, before he transferred Fenrir's sword into the giant wolf and let his pet wolf take over, but Aphrodite or any god he might encounter did not need to know that.

"Yeah, make him so much less wary of him already."

Aphrodite replied to the god of mischief from another world with a deadpan expression, before squealing in surprise when Fenrir suddenly leaned toward her and licked her face, leaving a hearty amount of his saliva on her body.

"I guess he likes you." Atreus said with a humorous chuckle, while Aphrodite could only whimper weakly in in disgust at the stuff on her skin, moving her hand up to move the drenched, sticky bands of her blonde hair to the side so she could open her eyes and take a look at herself before waving her hand and casting a spell to clean up.

After double checking to make sure she looked good again, Aphrodite looked at Fenrir, who then barked happily at her while waving his tail around. A small, but genuine smile then made it to her face as she looked at him, enjoying how cute and friendly he appeared to be while behaving like a happy, well trained pet dog despite being a creature with the powers to slay the gods themselves.

"Anyway, I didn't know that you could create that kind of portal just now to cross over here to find me, Fenrir." Atreus said, looking up at his pet dog before stating gently, his hand petting his fur as Fenrir laid his head down next to him "You know that you can never go back, don't you?" The wolf whimpered softly back in return, before giving his owner another lick, making him smile. Even if Atreus could not understand animals, that affectionate gesture just now was enough for him to understand Fenrir.

"So… what now?" Aphrodite asked, measuring Fenrir's overall size "I don't think that you can keep a pet this big in the backyard of your house, can't you?"

Instead of answering her question, Atreus looked at Fenrir and told him with a smile. "Fenrir, show her."

With that command, his pet wolf got up and then ran around his master in a circle, with yellow particles emitting from his body. In less than a few seconds, the giant god slaying wolf shrunk, getting smaller and smaller until he became roughly the same size as Atreus' wolf form while standing next to him.

"Norse magic." Atreus explained simply to Aphrodite, who had a look of awe on her face as she gazed at his pet wolf.

"I mean… he could have arrived looking like this. I was really scared when you told me he's Fenrir, and his size really didn't help." Aphrodite said, making Atreus laugh before reaching out and petting Fenrir, making the wolf bark happily at her before turning his attention back to his master, who got down on one knee to rub his pet wolf's head while he licked at his face "You better build the best wolf house for him."

"You don't have to tell me." Atreus grinned, before standing up to ask Aphrodite "By the way, how did you know his realm tear appeared here? Did a bird tell you?"

"Actually, yes. I have the animals around here keep watch on things around town for me." Aphrodite answered, "Gotta make sure I can warn you if one of the other gods show up, you know."

Atreus nodded his head in understanding. He had figured that much the last time she told him that she could talk to animals as well, as she seemed to know things she wasn't supposed to even while she was on Olympus.

"Say… can you ask them if they know whether or not a group of fallen angels are hiding somewhere around town for me?" He asked, making Aphrodite raise an eyebrow slightly in wonder.

"Sure, I can but… what are you going to do if there are?" Aphrodite asked "Are they causing you trouble? Is there something going on that I should know about?"

"Just being cautious, you know." Atreus stated with a shrug, bidding goodbye to Aphrodite who left using her teleportation magic before looking over to his pet wolf, telling him with a smile "Come on, boy. Follow me. Let me show you to our new home."

With a playful bark, Fenrir wasted no time to follow his owner as he returned home, having no trouble keeping up with him as they took a path that Atreus knew didn't have many people around at the current time of the day to avoid being seen. As much as strange occurrences and paranormal activities kept on happening in Kuoh, the sight of a huge wolf running alongside a young man was definitely not something that the townspeople of Kuoh wished to see in the evening.

"Well, here we are. This is our new home, Fenrir." Atreus said as he and Fenrir stopped in front of his house. Looking over to his pet wolf, Atreus then lowered himself down in front of him and spoke to Fenrir with a smile "Listen, me and my father are having some guests inside, and I honestly don't think they get to see a wolf around that often, let alone one as big and strong as you are. Why don't you go to the backyard and hide them for the time being? Make sure no one sees you, alright?"

Barking playfully while waving his tail around, Fenrir then turned to the side and jumped over the fence of their house with a simple leap, heading toward the backyard without making even the slightest sound. Smiling, Atreus then made his way inside himself, walking in to see Kiba helping Rias and Akeno out with setting up the dining table in the kitchen with a hearty amount of delicious looking dishes.

Kratos, meanwhile, was still sitting in the living room. The TV was on, but he did not appear to be watching, so Atreus wasted no time to invite himself in and sit down on the couch next to his father.

"Where were you, Atreus?" Kratos asked, implying that he was more curious of his son's whereabouts than his reason for suddenly running in a hurry out of the house a moment ago.

"You won't believe who I just found, father." Atreus answered, beaming brightly at his father, who looked at his son in wonder. "By the way, there's something I also want to talk to you about as well."

"Go ahead then."

End of chapter 16

Note: Sup folks! I have returned!

Sorry for taking so long to send this chapter out! As some of you might have already known, I had to leave for a whole month straight, and during this time period, I was not allow to use my phone or any devices that I could have used to write, leaving me with no choice but to postpone my work for an entire month. It's only recently that I returned and got back into writing, and this chapter has been the first thing that I finished!

So God of War Ragnarok is out and goddamn is it a masterpiece just like the previous game. I now have so many source materials to work on for this story, especially how Atreus normally acts and behaves in his teenager years. I will make sure to keep him in character as much as possible!

And as you can see I have decided to bring one of the best elements of the game into the story, best wolf boy Fenrir himself. I know that his introduction might be a bit sudden, but I think this is the best way for me to introduce him to the story and have him tagged along with Atreus (and also Kratos) from now on on many of his journey. I love Fenrir a bit too much to not include him in this story and have him come along on the adventures of Atreus and Kratos.

Not to mention that this story has Zagreus from HADES, it's only fair for Atreus to have his boy Fenrir at his side as Zagreus has for himself Cerberus after all.

I will also start adjusting the previous chapters bit by bit to fit the ending as well as the whole story of God of War Ragnarok, now that the game is out and we know everything that happens. Not just the Leviathan Axe and Blades of Chaos, Kratos will also have with him The Draupnir Spear, and I will make sure that he (or even Atreus) brings it to good use in the story.

And that's all! Hope that everyone has enjoyed reading this chapter, and welcomed the (sudden) arrival of Fenrir. Keep in mind that he WILL be the only one else besides Kratos and Atreus from GoW to show up in this story. I might consider Skoll and Hati if everyone wants to have them as well, but those two wolves will be it for this story, as I don't want to mess up the plot with way too many characters from GoW.

As always, make sure to leave behind a REVIEW once you have finished reading! Check out my p/atreon if possible, and feel free to join my discord channel (the link is there in my profile). I have also created an AO3 account and will be expanding my work there as well (Duo-updating on both sites). The name is YagamiFanfiction, so check it out if you can.

See you in the next updates!
