Disclaimer: I don't own the 2004 animated film Shark Tale and all rights goes to DreamWorks Animation SKG. Shark Tale has been one of my favorite movies since my childhood, and it still is today. I've enjoyed that movie many times since I was a kid, and I still enjoy it today. Since I love the movie so much, I decided to do a whole retelling of the movie that is called When A Little Fish Tells A Great White Lie with new characters, new scenes, and different dialogue, and my OC belongs to me. When A Little Fish Tells A Great White Lie
Chapter 2: Being A Somebody
Back at the Whale Wash, Nelson is now doing his job as the leader of the Whale Wash dental squad, a team of fish employees who has the job to clean the sperm whale customers' teeth by using automatic toothbrushes, dental instruments, dental drills, toothpaste in different kinds of flavors, dental floss in different kind of flavors, and mouthwash in different kinds of flavors at the dental section of the Whale Wash.
Also, a member of the dental squad named Wendell is Nelson's second-in-command of the team and another member named Hayley is Nelson's third-in-command of the team, and the members of the Whale Whale dental station which is located at the back of the Whale Wash by taking some turns.
Some of the sperm whale customers begin arriving at the Whale Wash dental section on the large automatic sled to have their teeth cleaned after they got their barnacles removes by the crab employees and the electric eel employees, got their backs scrubbed with suds by the other fish employees, got sprayed with foam on by the sea otter employees, got scrubbed with detergent by the flounder employees, and got waxed by the sea turtle employees.
"Alright, everybody. We have an important job to do, and that important job is to clean the teeth of the loyal customers." Nelson announced.
"Right." said Wendell, Hayley, and the other members of the dental squad.
"We must work together to make the customers' teeth all clean and pearly white no matter what." Nelson continued.
"Right." said Wendell, Hayley, and the other members of the dental squad.
"We are the Whale Wash dental squad, guys. And being part of the dental squad is all about teamwork and helping each other out." Nelson continued.
"Right." said Wendell, Hayley, and the other members of the dental squad.
"Now, let's get to work, everybody." Nelson continued.
"Yes, sir." said Wendell, Hayley, and the other members of the dental squad.
Nelson, Wendell, Hayley, and the other members of the Whale Wash dental squad begin working together to clean the sperm whale customers' teeth once they have arrived at the Whale Wash dental section, and one of the sperm whale customers who is first in line opened her mouth so they can begin to clean her teeth. Just as they are, they do what they need to do in order.
First, they get some dental mirrors from the three dental instrument tables and use them to check and find some cavities in the sperm whale customer's teeth and use dental scalers to remove the plaque, tartar, germs, and bacteria from her teeth, and they get some dental drills from the three dental instrument tables to drill in some of the cavities and fill them in.
Next, they get some toothpaste from three dental closets and use them to remove plaque, tartar, muck, and scum from the sperm whale customers' teeth by using the automatic toothbrushes. Also, they get some dental floss from the three dental closets and use them to floss between the sperm whale customer's teeth to remove plaque, tartar, muck, and scum.
Then, they quickly get finished with cleaning the sperm whale customer's mouth as well as drilling and filling her cavities, and they leave her mouth. Also, one of the members of the dental squad gets a bottle of mouthwash from the dental closet and she uses it to pour it into the sperm whale customer's mouth. Once she pours the mouthwash into the sperm whale customer's mouth, the sperm whale swishes her mouth for a moment, and spouts out the mouthwash.
"Alright, ma'am, your teeth are all clean and your cavities have been taken care of." said Nelson.
"Thank you, dental squad. Thank you for making my teeth pearly white. I appreciate it so much." said the sperm whale customer.
"You're welcome. When you need your teeth to be pearly white again, you know where to come: Sykes' Whale Wash." said Nelson.
"I know. Bye, dental squad. See ya later." said the sperm whale customer
"Bye, ma'am." said Nelson.
Nelson smiled at the sperm whale customer and nuzzled her on her left side, and then she left the Whale Wash dental section while Nelson, Wendell, Hayley, and the other members of the dental squad waved bye to her. After they got finished with cleaning her teeth, they prepare to get ready to clean another sperm whale customer's teeth, but before they can do so, they all noticed a delivery fish has arrived right in front of the Whale Wash dental section riding on a big fish and they remembered that they made a delivery for some more toothpaste and mouthwash that they need to clean the sperm whale customers' teeth since they have been running out of toothpaste and mouthwash lately and only have a small amount of them left.
"Hey, guys, the delivery fish is here." said Wendell.
"And he came with the toothpaste and mouthwash that we've ordered." said Hayley.
"We really needed some more toothpaste and mouthwash 'cause we've been running low on them since this week." said Wendell.
"Thank goodness. The delivery came just in time." said Hayley.
"And it came just as we're about to clean another loyal customer's teeth." said Nelson. "I'm gonna go get the toothpaste and mouthwash, and you guys clean the next customer's teeth while I get them."
"Yes, sir." said Wendell.
"Yes, sir." said Hayley.
"Yes, sir." said the other members of the dental squad.
"I'll be right back." said Nelson
Nelson swims up to the delivery fish while Wendell, Hayley, and the other members of the Whale Wash dental squad went into the next customer's mouth and began cleaning his teeth. Nelson warmly greets the delivery fish once he swam up to her, and he proceeds to get the delivered toothpaste and mouthwash from her.
"Hello, ma'am." Nelson greeted.
"Oh, hello, Nelson." the delivery fish greeted. "Here's the toothpaste and the mouthwash you and the rest of the dental squad needed for the customers at the Whale Wash. Here you go."
The delivery fish gets up from the big fish, and the big fish opens her mouth where three boxes of toothpaste and three boxes of mouthwash are at. The delivery fish gets the three boxes of toothpaste and the three boxes of mouthwash from out of the big fish's mouth and sets them on the ground just as she gives them all to Nelson. Then, once the three boxes of toothpaste and the three boxes of mouthwash have been delivered, Nelson pays the delivery fish the right amount of money to pay for them.
"Thank you very much." said Nelson.
"You're welcome." said the delivery fish.
"And, ma'am, here's the money for the delivery." said Nelson just as he gave the money to the delivery fish.
The delivery fish took the money and smiled. "Thanks, Nelson."
"You're welcome." said Nelson.
"Bye." said the delivery fish.
"See ya." said Nelson.
The delivery fish went back on the big fish and leaves on his back, and she waves by to Nelson while he waves bye back to her. Nelson picks up the three boxes of toothpaste and the three boxes of mouthwash, and he proceeds to head back inside the Whale Wash dental section with them.
While he does so, it quickly proves that he is having a difficult time carrying the boxes since there are three boxes of toothpaste and three boxes of mouthwash, and three plus three equals six.
Suddenly, Nelson accidentally drops the three boxes of toothpaste on the ground due to the weight of the six boxes and the difficulty of carrying the six boxes together, and all of the toothpaste falls out of the boxes and gets scattered all over the ground, much to his disappointment.
"Aw, c'mon! C'mon!" said Nelson. He groaned in annoyance. "It's gonna take me thirty minutes to put these toothpaste back in these boxes."
Nelson put down the three boxes of mouthwash on the ground and he began putting the toothpaste back in the three boxes in disappointment. While he does so, Angie and Sabrina are still making some phone calls and doing some paperwork together. Suddenly, Sabrina noticed Nelson had dropped the three boxes of toothpaste on the ground by accident and put the toothpaste back in the three boxes. She also noticed that Nelson began to feel very exhausted from putting all of the toothpaste back in the three boxes, and quickly decided to help him out.
"Ang, I'll be right back." said Sabrina.
"Where are you going?" asked Angie.
"I'm gonna help Nel." said Sabrina. "He accidentally dropped toothpaste and he can't put them back in all of those boxes by himself. He needs some help."
"Okay. You can go help Nel, Brina." said Angie.
Sabrina then answered to the sperm whale customer. "Please hold, sir."
Sabrina takes off the headset and leaves the Whale Wash receptionist office to help Nelson with putting the toothpaste back in the three boxes while Angie continues making some phone calls and doing some paperwork. Nelson continued putting the toothpaste back in the three boxes and he's very exhausted from doing so, and he quickly noticed Sabrina swam up to him.
"Oh, hello, Brina." Nelson greeted.
"Hey, Nel." Sabrina greeted. "I see that you've accidentally dropped those toothpaste on the ground. Need some help putting them back in those boxes?"
"Yes. I really need some help putting these toothpaste back in these boxes after I dropped them by accident." said Nelson. "Putting these toothpastes back in the boxes is a lot of hard work since the dental squad and I order a lot of toothpaste for the loyal customers' teeth besides ordering a lot of mouthwash."
"I already know that. You and the dental squad need to order a lot of toothpaste and mouthwash since a lot of customers come to get their teeth cleaned." said Sabrina. "I'll help you out with putting those toothpaste back in those boxes."
"Alright." said Nelson.
Sabrina begins helping Nelson with putting the toothpaste back in the three boxes, and Nelson is very thankful for her help just as his disappointed expression quickly fades and turns into happiness since Sabrina began helping him out. Also, Sabrina decides to help Nelson carry the six boxes to the Whale Wash dental section when they are finished with putting the toothpaste back in the three boxes.
"Hey, Nel, after we get finished with this, you want me to help you carry all of these boxes back to the dental section?" asked Sabrina. "I can help if you want me to."
"Sure. You can help me carry the boxes when we're finished." said Nelson. "I can carry the three boxes of toothpaste and you can carry the three boxes of mouthwash to the dental section, and I would need some help with carrying them too."
"Okay. I'll help you carry the boxes, and besides, it's really hard carrying six boxes anyway." said Sabrina.
"That's right, it isn't easy carrying six boxes." said Nelson. "I guess I need some help with carrying the boxes since they could be this much when they are delivered."
"Yeah." said Sabrina.
While Sabrina helps Nelson out with putting the toothpaste back in the three boxes, Nelson quickly begins staring at Sabrina with a lovestruck expression, meaning that he has deep romantic feelings for her.
Just like Angie has always been in love with Oscar, Nelson has always been in love with Sabrina, and she has always been the girl of his dreams and wishes to win her heart somehow. Soon, Nelson and Sabrina get finished with putting the toothpaste back in the boxes, and Nelson expresses his gratitude to Sabrina for helping him out.
"That's all of the toothpaste, and they're back in the three boxes." said Sabrina.
"Thanks for helping me, Brina. I appreciate it so much." said Nelson.
"You're welcome, Nel." said Sabrina.
"Now, we can carry these back to the dental section, and the dental squad and I really needed more toothpaste and mouthwash for the customers' teeth." said Nelson.
"Mmm-hmm. It's really important for the customers' teeth to be cleaned by toothpaste and mouthwash." said Sabrina.
"That's true. It is very important." said Nelson.
Nelson picks up the three boxes of toothpaste and Sabrina picks up the three boxes of mouthwash, and they proceed to carry the six boxes to the Whale Wash dental section. While they do so, Nelson stares at Sabrina with a lovestruck expression again just as he has a huge crush on her, but he quickly snapped out of it when she quickly noticed him.
"Nel, were you just staring at me?" asked Sabrina.
"What? No. No, I wasn't staring at you." said Nelson.
"Well, it looks like you were staring at me." said Sabrina. "Did you wanna tell me something?"
"Huh?" asked Nelson.
"Would you like to tell me something?" asked Sabrina.
"No, I don't. I don't have anything to tell you right now." said Nelson.
"Are you sure?" asked Sabrina.
"Yes." said Nelson.
"Well, alright then. You don't have anything to tell me right now. It's okay." said Sabrina.
"Except that I needed to tell you that you're a very beautiful girl with a heart of gold." said Nelson.
"Wait, what did you just say?" asked Sabrina in surprise.
Nelson suddenly became embarrassed. "Oh, nothing. Just nothing. I didn't say anything at all."
"Really?" asked Sabrina.
"Really." said Nelson.
"If you say so." said Sabrina.
Nelson continued to carry the three boxes of toothpaste and Sabrina continued to carry the three boxes of mouthwash to the Whale Wash dental section. Just as they are, Nelson is relieved that Sabrina didn't hear him call her a very beautiful girl with a heart of gold and didn't even notice his feelings for her yet. He was really embarrassed when she almost found out his love for her, and he's not ready to tell her how he really feels about her yet because he's too shy to do so. However, he plans to confess his love for her when he's ready and will somehow manage to overcome his shyness.
Soon, they arrive at the Whale Wash dental section, and they work together to put the toothpaste and the mouthwash in the three dental closets. They quickly get finished with putting the toothpaste and the mouthwash in the three dental closets, and Nelson still expresses his gratitude for Sabrina's help.
"Thanks for helping me carry the six boxes to the dental section and putting the toothpaste and mouthwash in the closets, Brina." said Nelson. "Thanks for helping me out with all of this when I really needed it. Thank you."
"Oh, you're welcome, Nel." said Sabrina. "Now, I have to get back to the receptionist office and continue answering some loyal customers as well as sign paperwork with Ang. Ang and I see you and Oscar later."
"Oscar and I will see you and Ang later, Brina." said Nelson.
"See ya." said Sabrina.
"Bye." said Nelson.
Sabrina then leaves the Whale Wash dental section and heads back to the Whale Wash receptionist office to continue making phone calls and doing some paperwork along with Angie while Nelson waved bye to her. Also, just as Nelson waved by to Sabrina, he stared at her with a lovestruck expression again and sighed lovingly just as he wishes to make her his since he has always been in love with her just like Angie has always been in love with Oscar.
Nelson stopped staring at Sabrina with a lovestruck expression, and continued cleaning the sperm whale customers' teeth along with Wendell, Hayley, and the other members of the Whale Wash dental squad. He swims to the mouth of the next sperm whale customer, and he begins cleaning his teeth along with Wendell, Hayley, and the other members of the dental squad, and they are now using the toothpaste, toothbrushes, and dental floss.
While he is flossing the sperm whale customer's teeth, Nelson begins thinking about his love for Sabrina, and he imagines himself spending time with Sabrina Ripple Park during the sunset. They are both sitting on a bench and Nelson gives Sabrina a bouquet of flowers. Sabrina smiled at Nelson for giving her the bouquet, and she smiled at Nelson and nuzzled his shoulder while Nelson smiled at her.
Nelson suddenly comes out of his imagination and he continues to think about his love for Sabrina while he continued flossing the sperm whale customer's teeth along with Wendell who is brushing the sperm whale customer's teeth with toothpaste, Hayley who is also flossing the sperm whale customer's teeth, and the other members of the dental squad who is brushing and flossing the sperm whale customer's teeth.
Elsewhere at the Whale Wash, Oscar was doing his job as a tongue scrubber along with his fish co-workers who are also tongue scrubbers, and tongue scrubbers are fish employees to have the job to remove green slime off of the sperm whale customers' tongues at the tongue scrubbing section of the Whale Wash.
Oscar and the other tongue scrubbers were working together to scrub green slime off a sperm whale customer's gigantic tongue by using brushes, shovels, and buckets while some of the other tongue scrubbers used vacuums to remove the green slime as well. Scrubbing slime off of the sperm whale customers' tongues was really disgusting, and Oscar frowned at his job while he complained about it.
"Welcome to Oscar's crib." said Oscar sarcastically while he was shoveling some slime off of the sperm whale customer's mouth and putting it in a bucket. "A place to call home, and it doesn't feel like home at all. It's nothing but a 60-foot slime-covered tongue with a slime-covered mouth that totally reeks, canker sores, swim-in cavities, and plankton-encrusted teeth when I feel a little…" He shovels some more slime and puts it in a bucket. "...old school! At least Nel and the dental squad don't have to remove all of this slime since the slime has already been removed when it's time for the sperm whale customers to go to the dental squad."
"Oh, stop your complaining, Oscar." said a tongue scrubber named Pontrelli. "Things could be a lot worse, you know."
"Yeah, that's true, Pontrelli. I could have this job at this kind of local business, and look like you." said Oscar. He then laughed. "Good one, huh? Who's behind me? Whoever's behind me, better give me some fin! Give me some fin if somebody's behind me!"
Another tongue scrubber named Knuckles gives Oscar's some fin from right behind him just as she laughed. "I'll give you the fin since I'm right behind you. Here's the fin, homie."
"Thank you very much, Knuckles." said Oscar.
"You're welcome." said Knuckles.
"Hey, Oscar." another tongue scrubber named Dwight greeted.
"Hey, what's up, Dwight?" Oscar greeted.
"You wanna hear a joke?" asked Dwight.
"Yeah. What is it? What's the joke?" asked Oscar.
"Knock knock." said Dwight.
"Who's there?" asked Oscar.
"Promotion." said Dwight.
"Promotion who?" asked Oscar.
"Promotion which you will get soon if you don't stop complaining and just do your work." said Dwight. He begins laughing.
"Hey! That's not a funny joke, man!" said Oscar just as he frowned. "Not funny."
"Of course it is. It is funny, Oscar." said Dwight. He continued laughing. "It's funny enough for you to just focus on your job as a tongue scrubber, and sometimes, you would complain about having this job."
"Yeah, Oscar, you do complain about having a job as a tongue scrubber sometimes." said Knuckles.
"So, since you complain about your job as a tongue scrubber sometimes, how about you should focus on your job instead of complaining about it sometimes." said Pontrelli.
"Well, what you guys said about me complaining about my job as a tongue scrubber is absolutely correct." said Oscar. "But I have a right to complain about having this job of being a tongue scrubber 'cause scrubbing all of this slime off of the sperm whale customers is so disgusting. It really is.
"Oh, you'll get over it, Oscar. It's just disgusting slime." said Pontrelli. "Also, it's very important for the tongue scrubbers to remove this disgusting slime off of the sperm whale customers' tongues since it's their job to do so."
"I already know it's the tongue scrubbers job to remove the disgusting slime off the sperm whale customers' tongues." said Oscar. "And that's 'cause I've been doing it for a very long time and I've been working so hard on this job."
"Well, since you have been working as a tongue scrubber at this local business for so long and have been working really hard, maybe you can be promoted, Oscar." said another tongue scrubber named Vivian.
"Wait a minute? Really?" asked Oscar. Vivian nodded her head. "How can I be promoted since I've been working as a tongue scrubber for so long and have been working so hard on it?"
"By doing nothing but focusing on removing the slime off of sperm whale customers' tongues like you're supposed to." said Vivian. She began to laugh. "Tongue scrubbers are supposed to remove the slime off of the sperm whale customers, and they should be focused on their jobs of removing the slime off the sperm whale customers no matter what." She continued laughing.
"Yeah, I already know that, y'all." said Oscar just as he frowned. "I already know that the tongue scrubbers are supposed to remove the slime off of the sperm whale customers' tongues since it's their job to do so. Also, since I have been working as a tongue scrubber for so long, hopefully I'll be promoted one of these days."
"If you do get promoted since you have been working as a tongue scrubber for so long and have been working really hard on it, we honestly wanna see it happen." said Pontrelli.
"Really?" asked Oscar.
"Yeah, really." said Pontrelli. "We really wanna see you get promoted for working as a tongue scrubber for so long and working so hard on the job...if that will ever happen by any chance at all since you complain so much about being a tongue scrubber." He then laughed.
"Maybe you will be promoted for working as a tongue scrubber for so long and working so hard on the job one of these days, Oscar." said Knuckles. "It would happen if you stop complaining about your job so much and just focus on your job like you're supposed to." She then laughed
"Stop complaining about your job so much, and maybe you'll eventually be promoted for working as a tongue scrubber for a very long time." said Dwight.
"All you have to do is stay focused on your job as a tongue scrubber, and who knows, maybe you'll be promoted for all your hard work, Oscar." said Vivian.
"Mmm-hmm, you could be promoted for working as a tongue for a very long time and for all of your work as a tongue scrubber." said Pontrelli.
"If you just stop complaining about your job so much and just focus on your job, then you'll be promoted." said Knuckles.
"Yeah, right. I will get promoted for working as a tongue scrubber for so long and working so hard as a tongue scrubber." said Oscar. "All I have to do is focus on my job as a tongue scrubber without complaining at all, and hopefully I'll get promoted. Oh, and by the way, I have a right to complain about this job, remember? Removing all of this slime off of the sperm whale customers is so disgusting it really is."
"Oh, stop your complaining and just do your work, Oscar." said Pontrelli.
"Yeah, just stop complaining and do your work." said Knuckles.
"Mmm-hmm." said Dwight.
"Uh-huh." said Vivian.
The other tongue scrubbers nodded in agreement that Oscar should just focus on his work of being a tongue scrubber rather than complaining about it even though Oscar has a right to complain about it since scrubbing slime off of the sperm whale customers' tongues was really disgusting, and then Pontrelli, Knuckles, Dwight, and Vivian laughed for a moment and the other tongue scrubbers laughed for a moment as well while Oscar scoffed in annoyance and continued doing his job as a tongue scrubber and shoveled some more slime of the sperm whale customer's tongue and puts it in a bucket.
Pontrelli, Knuckles, Dwight, Vivian, and the other tongue scrubbers stopped laughing and continued doing their jobs scrubbing green slime off the sperm whale customer's tongue by using the brushes, shovels, and buckets while some of the other tongue scrubbers used vacuums to remove the green slime as well.
While he, Pontrelli, Knuckles, Dwight, Vivian, and the other tongue scrubbers continued working together to remove the slime off the sperm whale customers' tongue, Oscar continues to frown at his job as a tongue scrubber since it was really disgusting to remove the slime off of the sperm whale customers' tongues and he continued feeling very annoyed by howPontrelli, Knuckles, Dwight, Vivian, and the other tongue scrubbers wasn't showing him that much respect at all as his job as a tongue scrubber.
However, even though he was disgusted removing the slime off of the sperm whale customers' tongues, Oscar's frowning expression suddenly became filled with happiness since he honestly knows that he enjoys his job as a tongue scrubber at the Whale Wash and it was the kind of job that he was really good at.
Also, even though Oscar is very annoyed by how Pontrelli, Knuckles, Dwight, Vivian, and the other tongue scrubbers didn't show him that much respect at all as his job as a tongue scrubber, he really treats them with kindness and respect while he already knows that they would treat him with kindness as well even though they don't show him that much respect as a tongue scrubber at all.
Suddenly, just as Oscar and the other tongue scrubbers continued scrubbing the slime off of the sperm whale's customer's tongue, things got a lot worse when the sperm whale customer's mouth began rumbling, and Oscar even noticed the rumbling from the bucket of green slime and began to panic.
"Uh-oh. It's indigestion. The sperm whale customer's having an indigestion, and it's really nasty." said Oscar. "EVERYBODY, TAKE COVER! THE SPERM WHALE CUSTOMER IS GONNA BLOW! THIS IS AN EMERGENCY!"
The sperm whale customer began to heave and choke just as his mouth continued to rumble, and the tongue scrubbers began panicking and swam out of the sperm whale customer's mouth. Oscar is swimming out of the sperm whale customer's mouth too, but he stops when Knuckles has witnessed Headphone Guy is still in the sperm whale customer's mouth.
"Wait! Hold on a sec! Headphone Guy's still in there!" said Knuckles.
"He is?! Headphone Guy's still in the customer's mouth?!" asked Oscar.
"Yeah, he's still in there!" said Dwight.
"He's still scrubbing the customer's mouth while this situation is happening!" said Vivian.
Oscar notices Headphone Guy is still scrubbing the sperm whale customer's mouth while he is completely unaware of the chaos going on and the sperm whale customer's mouth rumbling since he is listening to the song We Went As Far As We Felt Like Going by the Pussycat Dolls on his headphones.
"I GOT YOU, HEADPHONE GUY! DON'T WORRY, HELP IS COMING RIGHT NOW!" exclaimed Oscar.
Oscar swam up to Headphone Guy really fast, grabbed him, and they both braced themselves on the sperm whale customer's uvula. The rumbling in the sperm whale customer's mouth continued just as the other tongue scrubbers peaked. Suddenly, the sperm whale customer lets out a small belch which sends some green slime onto Oscar's face. The other tongue scrubbers laugh while Oscar groans in disgust and wipes some of the slime off of him.
"You still think things could get worse, Pontrelli?" asked Oscar.
"Yeah! I could look just like you!" said Pontrelli just as he and the other tongue scrubbers laugh.
"Ha! You're funny, Pontrelli. You are a funny guy. You really are." said Oscar just as he picked up the rest of the slime off of him. "But let's see if you can laugh at THIS!"
Oscar throws the slime at Pontrelli, but he quickly dodges it, and the slime ends up hitting Johnson which causes him to stagger around and accidentally hit a red button that sprays soap. A blast of soap that hits the sperm whale customer in the eye, and causes him to scream loudly in pain.
"MY EYE! MY EYE! IT HURTS! IT HURTS SO MUCH!" exclaimed the sperm whale customer.
Johnson attempts to pull the switch to get the soap off the sperm whale customer's eye, but it didn't work. If the soap doesn't come off of the sperm whale customer's eye soon, then the sperm whale customer could go crazy. Oscar quickly think of an idea to help the sperm whale customer, and he swam over to the emergency lever and pulled it.
"SOAP IN THE CUSTOMER'S EYE! SOAP IN THE CUSTOMER'S EYE! HE NEEDS SOME SERIOUS HELP! THIS IS NOT A DRILL!" exclaimed Oscar.
The alarm went off just as a huge clamping device grabbed the sperm whale customer. Oscar then grabbed a bucket and a squeegee, swam over to the sperm whale customer, and carefully cleaned the soap out of his eye just as he began calming himself down.
"It's alright, it's alright, kind sir." said Oscar. "Look, I'm gonna get you some coupons, we're gonna get you some detergent, we're gonna get you some free hot wax, and all that. You like that?"
"Yes." said the sperm whale customer.
"Alright, carry on, big baby!" said Oscar.
"Thank you very much, Oscar." said the sperm whale customer.
Oscar was about to go back to doing his job as a tongue scrubber, but he suddenly got zapped in the back by a stinger, causing him to yelp in pain. He turns himself around and sees two Jamaican jellyfish named Ernie and Bernie who are Sykes' henchmen.
"Well, look who it is, Bernie." said Ernie.
"It's the fish we've been looking all over for." replied Bernie. "The boss wants to see you at his office right now."
"Yeah, right now." said Ernie.
"Ernie! Bernie! My jellyfish brothers. Hey, what's up, mons?" Oscar greeted. "It's really good to y'all. Huh? What did you say, Ang and Brina? Oh, okay." Angie and Sabrina stared at Oscar in surprise while they were busy talking to a fish employee as well as Phoebe together. "Did you say something, Nel? Is there something you wanna tell me? Oh, alright." Nelson stared at Oscar in surprise while he was busy with drilling another sperm whale customer's teeth along with Wendell, Hayley, and the other members of the Whale Wash dental squad. "Fellas, I'm gonna go over there and…"
Then, Oscar began singing a horrible remix of the song Three Little Birds by Bob Marley just as he began leaving, but Ernie and Bernie appeared right behind him again, and Ernie zapped Oscar in the back again which caused him to stop leaving.
"That's not the way you sing that hit classic song, mon." said Ernie.
"Come with us to Sykes' office right now, mon." said Bernie.
Ernie and Bernie both grabbed Oscar and brought him to Sykes' office. They both tossed him inside which caused him to roll around the floor and crash into the desk. Oscar popped up and began warmly greeting Sykes who wasn't very amused since his meeting Don Lino from earlier.
"Hey, Sykes." Oscar greeted. "My brother from another mother, what's the deezy, baby?" He grabbed Sykes' fin and tried to do a finshake with him just as Sykes stared at him in annoyance. "Hey, baby, this is all gravy today. Now snap your right on my fin. Snap it! Snap it! C'mon snap it!"
"Oscar." said Sykes.
"You're not snapping it! C'mon snap your fin! Snap it! Snap it!" said Oscar.
"Oscar!" Sykes yelled out just as he pulled his fin away from Oscar.
"Hey, don't sweat it, Sykes." said Oscar just as he shrugged. "A lot of fish can't do it. There's no need to worry, most fish can't snap their fins."
"Oscar, would you just take a seat? Just sit down, okay?" asked Sykes. Bernie shoved Oscar into a chair. "I've been going over my markers lately, and I just learned that you're in a huge debt. You're into me for five grand. That's exactly 5 G's."
Oscar shook his head. "5 G's? No way. Man, you're tripping. You can't be serious. I must be into you for a hundred or two hundred."
"Oh, yeah?" asked Sykes. "Well, let's see if all of these IOUs refresh your memory." He picks up a large stack of IOUs and throws them in Oscar's face. "Maybe these IOUS will make you remember why you're in debt."
Oscar quickly looked at all of the IOUs just as he gasped in surprise. "Whoa! That's crazy. Look at that." He began gathering the IOUs and put them on Sykes' desk while Sykes looked very annoyed. "You write everything down so you wouldn't forget that I'm in a huge debt. This is a perfect example why you're in management of this business, and I'm not in management. You go, boy! Congratulations."
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, whatever." said Sykes. "Thank you for congratulating me for writing everything down so I wouldn't forget that you're in a huge debt. Also, do you know you're in a huge debt? Do you have any idea why you have all of these IOUS?"
"Um…Well…Is it 'cause of how I've been working really hard as a tongue scrubber?" asked Oscar.
"What? No! No, it's not because of how you were working so hard as a tongue scrubber, Oscar!" said Sykes. "It's 'cause of how you didn't pay your dues for your job as a tongue scrubber, and that's 'cause of those get-rich-quick schemes of yours. You're in debt with me right now, and the reason why you're in debt with me right now is 'cause you didn't pay your dues like you're supposed to, and employees of the Whale Wash are supposed to pay their dues. You haven't been paying your dues like you're supposed to, and that's 'cause you were being focused on your get-rich-quick schemes."
"Really? I haven't paid my dues for my job as a tongue scrubber 'cause I was being too focused on my get-rich-quick schemes?" asked Oscar.
"Yes, really." said Sykes. "Oh, and do you have any idea how many get-rich-quick schemes you pulled off while you're doing your job as a tongue scrubber, Oscar?"
"Well…Uh…I honestly have no idea how many get-rich-quick schemes I've pulled off, Sykes." said Oscar. "Maybe it was 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6. I honestly don't know how many get-rich-quick schemes I've pulled off."
"Eighteen. You've pulled off eighteen get-rich-quick schemes. It was 18." said Sykes.
"Really? I've pulled off eighteen get-rich-quick schemes?" asked Oscar.
"Yes. Yes, you did." said Sykes. "Oh, and may I remind you of some of the eighteen get-rich-quick schemes that you pulled off. They are trying to win the local lottery, trying to raise the budget of the Whale Wash faster in a three days, trying to make payday early by trying to get paid online, trying to make investments with every scallop, and trying to get overpaid on one payday for all of your hard work as a tongue scrubber."
"So?" asked Oscar.
"So since that you've been so busy with pulling off with your get-rich-quick schemes while you were busy with your job, and didn't pay your dues lately, you're now in huge debt." explained Sykes. "Since now that you're in debt with me, you owe me five grand. Also, it's very true that you've been working really hard as a tongue scrubber, and since you've been working so hard on your job, maybe you can be promoted someday."
"I already know that, Sykes." said Oscar. "Hopefully, maybe I will be promoted since I've been working really hard as a tongue scrubber in this local business someday. Who knows. Maybe I will get promoted for all my hard work."
"If you do get promoted one of these days for all of your hard work, then you'll focus on paying on your dues much better like you're supposed to." said Sykes.
"Yeah, right, man. I'll make sure that I'll pay my dues if I do get promoted for all of my hard work as a tongue scrubber one of these days." replied Oscar.
Sykes laughed. "You'll be promoted if that's gonna happen, and if it does happen, then you'll do a much better job at paying your dues at the Whale Wash rather than focusing on your get-rich-quick schemes like you usually do." He continued laughing for a moment.
"Yeah, Oscar, you could be promoted someday if you pay your dues like you're supposed to so you wouldn't be in debt." said Ernie just as he laughed.
"Who knows, mon, you could be promoted one of these days for all of your hard work if you pay your dues and you wouldn't end up owing a lot of money." said Bernie just as he laughed.
Oscar looked very annoyed since Sykes as well as Ernie and Bernie aren't showing him that much respect at all just like his fellow co-workers at the Whale Wash doesn't show him that much respect either. "Mmm-hmm. I'll get promoted for all of my hard work as a tongue scrubber one of these days. It will hopefully happen someday. I already know that."
"Oh, and do you know Don Edward Lino, the notorious crime boss of the great white shark mafia?" asked Sykes.
"Yeah, I know Don Edward Lino of the great white shark mafia, Sykes." said Oscar. "Everybody knows about Don Lino since everybody in Southside Reef fears him so much. What about Don Lino?"
"Look, I have to start paying Don Lino protection money for the safety of this business." explained Sykes. "So, everything you owe me, you owe him."
"How did you figure that out?" asked Oscar.
"It's simple. I figured it out from the food chain." said Sykes. He pulled down a diagram of the food chain that was hanging right above his desk. "You see? On top of the food chain, there's Don Lino. The crime boss of the hammerhead sharks Don Barbara Veltroni. Then there's me. And there's regular fish such as trout, mackerel, flounder, cod, and herring."
"Which is me?" asked Oscar.
"No. Not yet." said Sykes. He brings the food chain closer to Oscar. "There's bivalves, there's crustaceans, there's plankton, there's single-celled amoebas?"
"And then there's me?" asked Oscar.
"Hold on. I'm getting there." said Sykes. "There's kelp, there's coral, there's rocks, there's slime, there's whale poop, and then there's you." He pointed to the bottom of the food chain where there's a picture of Oscar holding a brush.
Oscar stared at the picture of him at the bottom of the food chain. "That's really messed up."
"So, if Don Lino is squeezing me like a sea cucumber, then he's squeezing you like a sea cucumber." said Sykes.
"What?!" asked Oscar. Suddenly, the food chain chart whirled up like a window blind and hit Sykes in the face. Oscar tries to help Sykes out. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry about that, Sykes. I'm sorry."
Sykes pushed Oscar away. "OSCAR!"
"Easy, boss. Calm down and find your happy place." said Bernie.
"Yeah, calm down and find your happy place." said Ernie.
"I can't calm down with this fish around here! And there really is no happy place with this guy around!" Sykes yelled out.
"Hey, Sykes? Sykes?" asked Oscar.
"I'M SERIOUS!" snapped Sykes just as he inflated himself.
Oscar yelped in fear and fell onto the ground. "Okay! Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay! Please! Please, please, please, please, please! Just gimme some time to pay you back! That's all I'm asking! I'm begging you, Sykes! Please! Please, just give me some time to pay off my debt! Please! Just please!"
Sykes stared at Oscar. "Alright. I'll give you some time to pay me back." He then deflates himself. "And 'cause I like you, and that you've been working very hard as a tongue scrubber and could be promoted someday for all of your hard work, I'm gonna give you exactly 24 hours to pay up."
"I'm supposed to pay up within 24 hours?" asked Oscar in shock.
"Yeah." said Sykes.
"But how am I supposed to do that within 24 hours?! That's impossible!" said Oscar just as he got up from the floor.
"That's your own problem." said Sykes just as he began leaving his office. "Bring my 5000 clams to the Southside Seahorse Racetrack tomorrow at noon or else."
"Or else what?" asked Oscar.
"The boys will explain it to you. They'll explain what will happen if you fail to pay your debt tomorrow." said Sykes. He then left his office.
Ernie and Bernie laughed sadistically at Oscar, and Bernie zaps Oscar's eye by warning him if he fails on paying Sykes back with the 5000 clams tomorrow at the Southside Seahorse Racetrack at noon, then will be in big trouble.
"Unpleasant. Very unpleasant." said Oscar in fear.
Later on, at one of the apartment buildings of Southside Reef that is known as the Seashell Plaza which is the home of Oscar, Angie, Nelson, Sabrina, and their many neighbors, Oscar and Nelson went over to Angie and Sabrina's apartment, and it is now evening.
Oscar now has a black eye due to being zapped by Bernie, and he has already explained to his three best friends what just happened from his conversation with Sykes from earlier while they comfort him and tend to his black eye.
"5000 clams?!" asked Angie in shock just as she put a sea slug on Oscar's black eye. "You owe Mr. Sykes 5000 clams according to your IOUs?!"
"Are you serious?! You really owe him 5000 clams?" asked Sabrina.
"Yeah. I owe Mr. Sykes 5000 clams, and he expects me to pay back the money I owe him tomorrow at noon." replied Oscar.
"How much do you still have? You know, your payment." said Angie. "You must have some of your payment left to pay back Mr. Sykes by tomorrow so you could get out of debt with him."
"Do you still have some money that you earned lately to pay back Mr. Sykes tomorrow, Oscar?" asked Sabrina.
"Most of it." said Oscar sheepishly. "I have most of my payment that I've earned from work so I could pay back Mr. Sykes and get out of my debt. Well, actually, I have some of my payment left. No, none of it. I don't have any of my payment left."
"Oh, that's bad. That's really, really bad." said Sabrina. "Also, you have to pay back Mr. Sykes within 24 hours and you don't have any of your payment left. I mean, who can really cough up 5000 clams within 24 hours? That's impossible!"
"I know." said Oscar.
"The reason why Oscar is in debt with Mr. Sykes, and owes him 5000 clams because he didn't pay his dues at the Whale Wash lately." explained Nelson. "And it's also because of his get-rich-quick schemes. No wonder you always end up in unwanted situations. Especially when you need to pay what you owe at work."
"Yeah, Oscar, does get-rich-quick schemes while he is doing his job at the Whale Wash, and he has done so many get-rich-quick schemes before." said Sabrina. "Oh, and by the way, how many get-rich-quick did you pull off, Oscar?"
"I've pulled off eighteen get-rich-quick schemes already, and none of them were successful." said Oscar.
"Oh, Oscar, why do you always get yourself into these situations?" asked Angie.
"Yeah, we honestly don't understand that. Why do you end up in unwanted situations anyway?" asked Sabrina.
"Why, Oscar? Why?" asked Nelson.
"Also, why do you keep pulling off so many get-rich-quick schemes that made you get in debt with Mr. Sykes?" asked Angie.
"That's what we would like to know. Why do you keep pulling off so many get-rich-quick schemes anyway?" asked Nelson.
"We honestly don't understand why do you keep pulling off so many get-rich-quick schemes, Oscar. Why?" asked Sabrina.
Oscar sighed just as he removed the sea slug off of his black eye. "I don't know, guys. I honestly have no idea why I end up in situations like paying my debt, and there are so many reasons why I keep pulling off my get-rich-quick schemes while I'm doing my job as a tongue scrubber. Things are just difficult…and I guess I'm just a little fish who lives in a really big body of water known as the Atlantic Ocean!" He put the sea slug on the leg on the bench and quickly slithers away.
"Oscar, here's some cream for your black eye. This could help make it feel much better soon." said Nelson. He gets out a jar of healing cream for black eyes, and he rubs some on Oscar's black eye.
"Thanks, Nel." said Oscar.
"You're welcome." said Nelson just as he put the jar of healing cream on the bench.
Then, after Nelson puts some healing cream on his black eye, Oscar gets up from the bench and heads to the edge of the balcony while Angie, Nelson, and Sabrina stare at him in complete concern and they feel really bad for him.
"I'm nothing but an underachiever…and I'm a nobody." said Oscar. "One of the many reasons why I keep pulling off my-get-rich quick schemes is to fulfill my lifelong dreams of becoming a somebody. And I want some of that." He pointed up at something.
"You want Mrs. Sanchez?" asked Angie.
"What?" asked Oscar.
"You're talking about Mrs. Sanchez, are you?" asked Sabrina.
"And if you are talking about Mrs. Sanchez and really want her, she isn't really your type." said Nelson.
"Huh?" asked Oscar. He saw Mrs. Sanchez spraying her armpits in her bathroom that is in another apartment building while she has the song Ladies Night by Kool And The Gang playing in the background. "Eww! Gross! No! I'm not talking about Mrs. Sanchez and I don't even want her! Ugh!" He pointed up higher to the very tall building of Southside Reef that is known as the top of the reef. "I'm talking about that. The top of the reef. A very amazing place where the somebodies live. I wanna be rich and famous just like them, but I'm stuck living down here at the bottom of the reef."
"Well, what do you mean by that?" asked Nelson.
"What's wrong with living down here at the bottom of the reef?" asked Angie. "Everybody loves you at the Whale Wash and you have many friends there besides us being your friends."
"You've been working really hard there, and you might get a promotion someday for all of your hard work." said Sabrina.
"Oscar, you've been working really hard at the Whale Wash, and one of these days you'll
"Who knows what it will lead to if you hopefully get promoted one of these days." said Angie.
"Guys, I already know that I have many friends at the Whale Wash besides having you as my friends." said Oscar. "And I already know I might be promoted someday where that's gonna lead. It's just…It's just that even though everybody loves me at the Whale Wash and I might get a promotion someday if I work really hard, I don't get that much respect from our co-workers and I don't get that much respect from our boss Mr. Sykes either. I really don't get a lot of respect at my job, that's all."
"You know, what you just said is very true." said Angie. "Even though you do have many friends at the Whale Wash besides having us being your best friends already, they honestly don't show you that much respect. It's true, you really don't get a lot of respect at work."
"Mmm-hmm. And I'll tell you guys what's wrong with living down here at the bottom of the reef." said Oscar. "Do you guys remember my dad Earl?"
"Yeah, we remember your dad Earl, Oscar." said Angie.
"We've always remembered your dad." said Nelson.
"And that's 'cause you've always told us about him." said Sabrina.
"My dad worked at the Whale Wash for his whole life, and he has always worked there ever since I was a little kid…before he sadly died from cancer." said Oscar.
Flashback
Many, many years ago at Southside Reef, Oscar's late father Earl worked at the Whale Wash as a tongue scrubber for a really long time before he died from cancer. He scrubbed the green slime off of a sperm whale customer by using a brush, and he worked so hard and did a really great job as a tongue scrubber. Since Earl did a really good job being a tongue scrubber at the Whale Wash before his death, he was employee of the month for many years.
"My dad was the number one tongue scrubber at the Whale Wash, and he has been the number one tongue scrubber every year for 25 years." explained Oscar. "And because he worked so hard and was number one at his tongue scrubbing job, he was always the employee of the month."
A young Oscar really admired his father's job as a tongue scrubber just as he smiled at one of his many employee of the month photos on the wall, and he really thought that working at the Whale Wash was an amazing job ever.
So, since he looked up to his father and his job at the Whale Wash, he decided to bring one of his father's many employee of the month photos and his brush that he used to scrub the green slime off of sperm whale customer's tongues during show-and-tell at his classroom at the Pisces Elementary School.
"To me, having a job at the Whale Wash was the coolest thing in the ocean." Oscar continued. "I honestly thought that working at the Whale Wash was so exciting…but then I learned a really harsh lesson that I would never forget about."
One of the students laughed mockingly. "Oscar's dad was a tongue scrubber!"
The students began to cruelly mock Oscar for his father's job being a tongue scrubber at the Whale Wash. "Tongue scrubber! Tongue scrubber! Tongue scrubber! Tongue scrubber! Tongue scrubber! Tongue scrubber! Tongue scrubber!"
Just as his classmates cruelly mock him for his father's job as a tongue scrubber, young Oscar was humiliated. Because of what happened during his childhood, it caused him to become very insecure about being special and considered himself as a nobody, and he dreams to become rich and famous so he could become a somebody and get respect from others.
End Flashback
"Before my dad passed away from cancer, he was the greatest and he was really good at his job, but nobody loves a nobody, and nobodies don't get that much respect." said Oscar. "I'll never get a lot of respect as a tongue scrubber at the Whale Wash even if I do get a promotion for all of my hard work one of these days, and I really wanna be a somebody. The only way I'll become a somebody and get the respect that I yearn for is if I become rich and famous. I gotta live at the top of the reef somehow, and it's the answer to becoming a somebody and getting respect from others. I really wanna be special."
"Oscar. You really don't have to live at the top of the reef to be a somebody." explained Angie. "Even though you don't get that much respect from others as a tongue scrubber at the Whale Wash, that doesn't mean you gotta live a life of luxury to become a somebody and get respect from others."
"That's right. The top of the reef is only for the most popular celebrities in Southside Reef, and you're living the good life already." said Nelson. "You should listen to your heart instead of your head."
"You're already special, Oscar. You're already special in your own way." said Sabrina. "Everybody is special in their own way. So…you should appreciate what you already have. Becoming rich and famous can't be the answer to becoming special."
Oscar sighed and sat back down on the bench while he continued being dejected. "What's the difference, guys? If I don't pay Mr. Sykes back by tomorrow since I don't have any money left from my payments at work, I'll be dead anyway."
Angie, Nelson, and Sabrina continued to feel really bad for Oscar. If Oscar doesn't pay back Mr. Sykes within 24 hours and doesn't get out of his debt soon, he'll be in a lot of trouble. Suddenly, Angie decides to help Oscar out with his situation.
"Wait here, guys. It won't be long." said Angie. She went inside her and Sabrina's apartment to get something.
Oscar just stared at the top of the reef in complete dejection, knowing that his lifelong dream of becoming a somebody and getting respect from others by living a luxurious life has been completely ruined while Nelson and Sabrina stared at Oscar and they still really felt bad for him. Angie quickly comes back to the balcony of her and Sabrina's apartment with a small oyster shell box.
"Huh? What's this? What's in that box?" asked Oscar. Angie opened up the box and inside of it was a shiny pink pearl. The pearl was the most beautiful pearl that Oscar has ever seen. "A pink pearl?"
"Mmm-hmm." said Angie.
"Wow. That pearl is so pretty. And shiny." said Nelson.
"Where did you get that from?" asked Oscar.
"My grandmother gave it to me as a gift on Christmas Day." explained Angie. "I've had it ever since we were kids."
"Yeah, that pearl was a gift from her grandmother." said Sabrina. "And I've always known about that pearl 'cause she told me."
"Really?" asked Nelson.
"Yeah, she did." said Sabrina. "Also, you guys knew about the pearl too, and that's 'cause our families had a Christmas party when he used to be kids."
"Oh, right. We did remember about Angie's pearl being a gift for Christmas, and our families threw a Christmas party when we were kids." said Oscar.
"And that Christmas party was at the apartment I used to live at with my own family." said Nelson. "Ang, we're really sorry that we've forgotten all about your pearl."
"Yeah, sorry about that, girl." said Oscar. "It has been a really long time and we've been best friends for so long. Sorry, Ang. Sorry that we've forgotten about your gift from your grandmother on Christmas Day."
"Oh, that's okay, Oscar and Nel. You don't have to apologize." said Angie.
"There's no need to apologize, you two." said Sabrina.
"My grandmother told me that the pearl started from a tiny grain of sand." explained Angie. "And after a little while, it grows into something very beautiful and full of admiration. Also, my parents and my grandmother told me that dreams can begin small too, and all you have to do is listen to your heart instead of your head."
"Mmm-hmm. You can follow your dreams, but listening to your heart instead of your head is really important and dreams do turn out to be small at first." said Nelson. "I've heard that same advice from my parents too."
"Oh, and I heard that same advice from my parents about listening to your heart instead of your head and your dreams start off being small." said Sabrina. "You should know about that advice too, Oscar."
"Here, Oscar, here's my pearl. You can sell it at the Prawn Shop tomorrow." said Angie just as she offered her pearl to Oscar.
"What? No, Angie, I couldn't take your pearl." said Oscar just as he refused to take Angie's pearl. "Uh-uh. I couldn't possibly sell something that is very special to you and was a gift. I couldn't do that."
"Take it. It will get you the money you need to pay back Mr. Sykes." said Angie. "Sell it at the Prawn Shop it will get you the right amount of money to pay off your debt to our boss by tomorrow, and I'm alright with you taking it. Go ahead and sell it so your situation will be over soon. I insist."
"Angie is alright with you selling her pearl, and it could help you with getting the 5000 clams within 24 hours." said Sabrina.
"Pearls are really rare, and they can help you with getting a lot of money that you need." explained Nelson. "Angie is okay with you selling her pearl, you can get the 5000 clams in no time at all to pay back Mr. Sykes."
"Well…alright. I'll take it. I'll take the pearl so I can help me with the situation I am in right now and I can get out of my debt at work." said Oscar.
"Here, Oscar." said Angie.
Oscar takes the pearl from Angie, and he smiles at her, Nelson, and Sabrina just as he is glad to have them as his best friends since they would always be there for him and help him out when needed, and he would always be there for them and help them out when needed while they smiled back at him.
The four best friends smiled at each other and Oscar quickly remembered that even though he was mocked by his classmates for his father's job as a tongue scrubber, he had Angie, Nelson, and Sabrina as his best friends when he used to attend Pisces Elementary School, and that's because they attended the elementary school along with him during their childhood.
"Hey, guys." said Oscar.
"Yeah?" asked Angie.
"What is it?" asked Nelson.
"What is it, Oscar?" asked Sabrina.
"I just remembered something very important." said Oscar.
"What?" asked Angie, Nelson, and Sabrina.
"Even though I didn't have that many friends in my class at Pisces Elementary School, I have you guys as my best friends." said Oscar. "You guys were my only best friends when we attended Pisces Elementary School together, and how we became best friends is 'cause you guys saw me being all by myself at the cafeteria."
"Yes, that's true. We were your only best friends at Pisces Elementary School, and we first met you at the cafeteria when you were sitting at a table by yourself." said Angie.
"We couldn't let you sit all by yourself during lunchtime, so we decided to sit with you, and that's how we became best friends." said Sabrina.
"The very first day we met you at the cafeteria, deciding to sit with you during lunchtime, and becoming your best friends felt like it was just yesterday." said Nelson.
Flashback
At the cafeteria of Pisces Elementary School many years ago, the students come in and out of the kitchen to get their lunches from the lunch ladies, sit at the many tables, and begin eating and enjoying the lunches as well as spend time with each other and talk to each other.
However, while the students sat with each other and had lunch with each other at the tables, young Oscar was sitting alone at one of the tables and he was eating his lunch all by himself, and he doesn't have anybody to spend time with and talk to during lunchtime.
The reason why young Oscar is by himself during lunchtime is because of his insecurities being special and considering himself as a nobody due to being cruelly mocked by his classmates for admiring his fathers job. Also, he would really want somebody to sit with him at the table and have lunch with them, but he is too insecure that he will be able to have somebody spend time with him during lunch, and he doesn't have any friends and he's too insecure about making some friends as well due to what happened in his classroom.
Meanwhile, a young Angie, a young Nelson, and a young Sabrina are looking for a table to sit at so they can begin eating their lunch, but they're unable to find anywhere to sit since all of the table has been already taken. Soon, they saw young Oscar sitting by himself at the table, and they realize that there is enough room for them at the table young Oscar is sitting at.
Also, they notice that anybody else isn't sitting at the table and having lunch with young Oscar, and they wonder why he's sitting at the table and having lunch all by himself and they quickly decide to sit with him at the table to give him some company. Young Angie, young Nelson, and young Sabrina swam up to the table and they sat with young Oscar.
Once young Angie, young Nelson, and young Sabrina has arrived and sit with him at the table, young Oscar became filled with complete surprise, and he quickly realize he is able to have somebody sit with him during lunchtime and spend time with them, but he doesn't know about making friends with them due to his insecurities.
"Hi." young Angie greeted.
"Hello." young Nelson greeted.
"Hey." young Sabrina greeted.
"Oh, what's up?" young Oscar greeted.
"Is anybody else sitting here?" asked young Angie.
"No. There isn't anybody else sitting here. Except me." said Oscar. "I'm the only one who is sitting at this table, and I'm at this table all by myself."
"Really?" asked young Sabrina. Young Oscar nodded his head yes. "Why? Why are you sitting at this table all by yourself?"
"'Cause I am. I always sit by myself during lunchtime." answered young Oscar.
"Why?" asked young Nelson.
"'Cause I do. Also, it's not only I sit by myself at lunchtime, I'm by myself at other places at school." said young Oscar. "I'm usually by myself at the playground, at the computer lab, at the gym, and at art class. I'm always by myself, and I really don't have anybody to talk to and hang out with. I really want to have somebody to talk to and hang out with, but I don't know if I'm able to make that kind of thing happen."
"Is that true?" asked young Nelson.
"Yeah." said young Oscar. "Oh, and I don't really have any friends either…and I'm not sure if I'm able to make any."
"You really don't have any friends?" asked young Angie.
"Mmm-hmm." said young Oscar.
After explaining to young Angie, young Nelson, and young Sabrina why he always sits by himself at the cafeteria as well as always be by himself at the other places in Pisces Elementary School, and that he doesn't have any friends, young Oscar began to feel very dejected due to his insecurities of being special and considering himself as a nobody just as he doesn't know if will be able to make any friends right after the tragic disaster in his classroom when he got cruelly mocked by his classmates for his father being a tongue scrubber at the Whale Wash.
Upon seeing young Oscar's dejected expression and learning that he doesn't have any friends since he is usually by himself at the places in Pisces Elementary School, young Angie, young Nelson, and young Sabrina began to feel bad for him. Then, they quickly decide that they should become his best friends and they should be the ones to spend time with him while they begin to smile at him.
"Well, since you don't have any friends, we can become your friends." said young Angie.
Young Oscar gasped in surprise. "What did you just say?"
"We'll be the ones that you can talk to." said young Nelson.
"We'll be the ones that you can hang out with." said young Sabrina.
"And you're really able to make that kind of thing happen and you're able to make friends after all." said young Angie. "So…what do you say? Wanna become friends with us?"
Upon hearing young Angie, young Nelson, and young Sabrina's decision to become his friends since he doesn't have any friends at all and usually be all by himself at the places in Pisces Elementary School, young Oscar's dejected expression suddenly becomes filled with complete happiness, and he decides to become friends with young Angie, young Nelson, and young Sabrina just as he realizes that he is able to make some friends while he still realizes he is able to have somebody sit with him during lunchtime as well as be able to have somebody to spend time with at the other places in Pisces Elementary School.
"Yes. Yes, I wanna become friends with you guys, and I'll become your friend too." said Oscar. "We'll all become friends."
"Okay." said young Angie.
"Okay." said young Nelson.
"Alright." said young Sabrina.
"Oh, and by the way, what are your names?" asked young Oscar. "You guys haven't told me your names when you came to this table."
"My name is Angie." said young Angie.
"My name is Nelson." said young Nelson.
"And my name is Sabrina." said young Sabrina.
"What's your name?" asked young Angie.
"My name is Oscar." said young Oscar. "It's nice to meet you, Angie, Nelson, and Sabrina."
"It's nice to meet you too, Oscar." said young Angie.
"I'm really happy that you guys became my best friends." said young Oscar.
"We're happy that we've become your best friend too." said young Angie.
"Mmm-hmm." said young Sabrina.
"For sure." said young Nelson.
Then, young Oscar smiled at young Angie, young Nelson, and young sabrina for becoming his new best friends and he's glad that they decided to become their best friends since he didn't have any friends at first and usually be by himself, and young Angie, young Nelson, and young Sabrina smiled at Oscar for becoming their new best friend and they are all glad that they've decided to become his best friend since he didn't have any friends at first and usually be by himself.
The four new best friends smiled at each other, and Oscar shakes young Angie's fin, shakes young Nelson's fin, and shakes young Sabrina's fin. Then, they all begin to have lunch together as well as spend time with each other and talk to each other while young Oscar begins to know young Angie, young Nelson, and young Sabrina better and young Angie, young Nelson, and young Sabrina get to know young Oscar better.
Young Oscar was very happy that he was able to make some friends and became friends with young Angie, young Nelson, and young Sabrina just as he enjoyed having lunch with them, but he still has insecurities about being special and still considered himself as a nobody due to what happened in his classroom.
End Flashback
"You know, I was really lucky when you guys came to the table I was sitting at during lunchtime and became my best friends since I was by myself." said Oscar. "Becoming best friends with you guys was one of the best things that has ever happened in my life."
"Becoming best friends with you was one of the best things that has ever happened to us too." said Angie.
"We're glad that we've decided to become your best friends on that day." said Nelson.
"Yeah, and the day we've decided that we become your best friends was the greatest." said Sabrina.
"We've been best friends ever since we used to attend Pisces Elementary School together, and we've always been best friends." said Oscar. "Also, ever since we met and became best friends, I value my friendship with you guys very much. I really do."
"We already know that you value your friendship with us, Oscar. And we value our friendship with you very much too. We really do." said Angie.
"Uh-huh." said Sabrina.
"Absolutely." said Nelson.
Oscar, Angie, Nelson, and Sabrina continued to smile at each other and then warmly embrace each other just as Oscar really enjoys his friendship with Angie, Nelson, and Sabrina while they enjoyed their friendship with him, and they have always been there for each other and support each other since that's what best friends are for.
Also, while Oscar really enjoys having Angie, Nelson, and Sabrina as his best friends, he is still insecure about being special and still considers himself as a nobody due to being mocked by his classmates in Pisces Elementary School for admiring his father's job as a tongue scrubber, and he still believes that in order to become a somebody and get respect from others, he has to become rich and famous.
Later on that night at the Seashell Plaza, Oscar and Nelson had already left Angie and Sabrina's apartment and they had already arrived back at their own apartment. Oscar is now vacuuming the apartment with a vacuum cleaner and Nelson is now making something at the kitchen's table while the song Method Man by the Wu-Tang Clan plays on the stereo.
Nelson uses a pair of scissors to cut out a shiny golden heart from a shiny golden piece of paper, uses a white lace to surround the heart, uses a bottle of glue to glue some shiny golden pearls on the lace, and uses the bottle of glue to glue golden ribbon with a shiny white pearl in the center of the heart. He soon gets finished with making something, and he has made a very beautiful golden heart which is a gift for Sabrina since he is in love with her and wishes to win her heart.
Also, Nelson uses a pen to write something at the back of the heart, and it says:
To: The Love Of My Life, Sabrina
From: Your Secret Admirer
Just as Oscar continues to vacuum the apartment, he suddenly notices the heart Nelson made for Sabrina, and he quickly becomes greatly amazed by its beauty and smiles at it. Also, Oscar is completely aware of Nelson having deepl romantic feelings for Sabrina and how she has always been the girl of his dreams because Nelson has told him all about it.
"Wow, that's very impressive, Nel. It's amazing." said Oscar.
"Thank you. It really didn't take me long to make this, and this is a gift and it's for Sabrina." said Nelson. "She's really gonna love this, Oscar."
"Of course, she will. Brina will love that heart you made for her." said Oscar. "And she always loved those other gifts you've been sending her lately 'cause you're her secret admirer."
"That's right, I am Sabrina's secret admirer, and she really does love those gifts I've been sending to her and Angie's apartment." said Nelson. "Oh, I really want her to notice how I really felt about her and that I've always been in love with her as well."
"Nel, if you really want Brina to notice how you really felt about her and that you've always been in love with her, then you should tell her right away." said Oscar.
"Wait a minute. I should?" asked Nelson.
"Yeah, you should." said Oscar. "When you bring her gift to her and Ang's apartment, you should tell her that you love her and you've been her secret admirer who has been sending her those wonderful gifts the whole time. You should really tell her right away when you bring her gift."
"Well…I wish I could do that right away…but I can't do it right away." said Nelson.
"Why not?" asked Oscar.
"'Cause…'Cause I'm too shy. I'm too shy to tell Sabrina how I really felt about her and that I've always been in love with her." answered Nelson. "If I really wanna tell her those things, then it's gonna have to wait when I'm ready. I'll tell her when I'm ready, Oscar."
"Well, if you say so, homie. You can tell Sabrina those things when you're ready." said Oscar.
"I'm gonna bring Sabrina her gift now. I'll be right back." said Nelson.
"Alright." said Oscar.
Nelson gets up from the table and leaves his and Oscar's apartment to bring the heart gift to Sabrina without being noticed since he's her secret admirer, and Oscar watched him leave their apartment just as he smiled at his feelings for Sabrina and continued vacuuming the apartment while the song Method Man continue to play on the stereo.
Nelson swims throughout the hallways of the building and he quickly arrives at the front door of Angie and Sabrina's apartment. He rings on the doorbell and leaves the heart gift on the welcome mat, and he quickly leaves the front door and hides behind a wall in the hallway so he won't get noticed by Sabrina when she finds the heart gift on the welcome mat.
Inside the apartment, Angie and Sabrina are watching the 90s sitcom Living Single on the couch in the living room, and they quickly hear the doorbell ring and they go to the front door of their apartment to see who it was.
Angie opened the door, and she and Sabrina checked to see who rang on the doorbell, but they're unable to see who it was, much to their confusion. Suddenly, they both discover the heart gift on the welcome mat and Sabrina picks it up, much to their surprise and amazement.
"Hey, it is a heart. Where did it come from anyway?" asked Angie.
Sabrina turns the heart gift around and reads what it says at the back of it. "To: The Love Of My Life, Sabrina. From: Your Secret Admirer. I know exactly where the heart came from, and it's from my secret admirer."
"The heart is from your secret admirer?" asked Angie.
"Yep, and it's another gift from him." said Sabrina.
"Well, whoever your secret admirer is, he has been sending you very wonderful gifts lately." replied Angie.
"Yeah, my secret admirer has been sending me gifts that are very wonderful, and I love them so much." said Sabrina. "This heart is so beautiful and shiny. It really is."
"Mmm-hmm, the heart is so beautiful and shiny." said Angie. "Well, since your secret admirer has been sending you wonderful gifts, I guess he really loves you so much and his feelings for you are so deep."
"Yes, he must really love me so much and his feelings for me are deep since he has been sending me all of these wonderful gifts." said Sabrina. "Also, I would really want to know who's my secret admirer right away, and tell him thanks for all of these gifts."
"You'll eventually learn who your secret admirer is, Sabrina." said Angie. "You just need to have some patience, and you'll find out who is your secret admirer so you can show him your gratitude for those gifts he has been sending you. You just need to wait for that to happen, that's all."
"I already know that, Ang." said Sabrina. "I already know that I just need to be patient and I'll eventually find out who's my secret admirer and tell him thank you for the gifts he sent me. I just can't wait to meet him soon."
"All you have to do is be patient, and you have the chance to meet your secret admirer soon." said Angie. "Just be patient and you'll eventually meet him."
"Okay. I'll be patient, and I can do that. I can really wait. I know I can." said Sabrina.
Then, Sabrina smiled at the heart gift while Angie smiled at it as well, and she warmly embraced it just as she loves it so much. Angie and Sabrina went back inside their apartment, and Angie went back to the living room and continued watching Living Single on the couch while Sabrina went to her bedroom to put the heart gift away.
In Sabrina's bedroom, Sabrina swims up to her dresser where she opens the bottom drawer where all the gifts that she has received are inside of it such as a bouquet of flowers, a love poem, a stuffed dolphin toy holding a heart that says "I Love You", a stuffed seahorse with a heart on its chest that says "You Stolen My Heart", a stuffed lobster with a heart on its back that says "XOXO", a golden necklace that has three golden hearts, a golden bracelet that has two golden hearts, a heart-shaped music box, and a heart-shaped perfume bottle.
She puts the heart gift along with the other gifts and smiles at all of the gifts she received just as she loved them so much, and she wishes she could get to meet her secret admirer so she could thank him for sending her the gifts while she is completely unaware that her secret admirer is actually Nelson. Sabrina then leaves her bedroom and went back to the living room where she continues watching Living Single on the couch along with Angie.
Back at the hallway, Nelson has already witnessed Sabrina discover the heart gift, and he is very delighted that she loves the heart gift so much. Also, he is glad that Sabrina didn't notice that he was his secret admirer yet just as he plans to confess his deep romantic feelings for her, but he isn't ready to do so yet and he will eventually confess his love for her when he overcomes his shyness.
Then, Nelson began to swim back to his and Oscar's apartment. Just as he is, he begins thinking about his love for Sabrina again and has another imagination of himself riding on a narwhal along with Sabrina throughout Southside Reef during the nighttime while they have a romantic moment with each other and enjoy riding on the narwhal together as well, and Nelson wraps his fin around Sabrina just as he smiles at her and Sabrina wraps her fin around Nelson just as she smiles at him.
Nelson suddenly comes out of his imagination again and he continues to head back to his and Oscar's apartment while he continues to think about his deep romantic feelings for Sabrina, and he still wishes to win Sabrina's heart and make her become his when he is ready to confess his love for her and somehow manage to overcome his shyness.
