Me: 'hides'
Okay I'm soooooo sorry for this very late update for this chapter, but there was much that has happened that I can't even summaries it for yea guys.
Just let you know that I'm alright and don't have the virus. In fact, I'm hating the outbreak cause I finally have the approval so they deal with the liver tumor, but since the outbreak it's now delayed…so now it's a waiting game…I hope that these tumor doesn't turn into cancer (rare) but it can happen.
Anyway enough of my rant, enjoy the long waited chapter.
In the past few years, many events have happened to Ciel and his friends.
At the age of seventeen, Charles announced the engagement of Princess Anna and Ciel Ryder. All citizens of Scotland were cheering, but not everyone was happy. Cynthiana throw a heavy temper tantrum while Marie furiously glared at Pandora.
Not soon after, Ciel and his friends started exploring around Scotland. That is when they discovered new species of dragons. Ciel and Scot created 'A Book of Dragons' just like what Gobber's great-great-great grandfather, Bork the Bold did. Ciel remembers the information of all the dragons in Bork's book back in Berk and soon new dragons were added. The problem was coming up with a name for the new dragon.
At the age of eighteen, Ciel and his friends discovered they gained magical abilities. Jack and Olette were arguing as usual, but out of nowhere Olette's hands were glowing red while Jack's was in some way sparking. Scot was able to stop their fighting by separating them with…wind?
Ciel and Anna informed their parents what happened. And within a week, they were told they were going to meet someone important.
-Scotland, castle throne room-
"Any idea who we are going to meet?" asked Jack.
"Who knows, but whoever he or she is, this person is going to explain to us what is going on," said Olette, looking at her hands. Ciel and the others nodded.
That's when the doors opened, came in was Anna's parents, Ciel's parents and an elderly man with long silver white hair, a long beard that went down to the floor and has silver-blue eyes. He was wearing a long blue robe with a blue tunic, beads around his waist that served as a belt, a pointy hat and was carrying a wood staff with a ruby on the top.
"Children, we would like you to meet an old friend of ours," said Charles, happily. He placed his hand over the elder's shoulder, "His name is Merlin, a powerful sorcerer."
Ciel and Jack dropped their mouths.
"A-A sorcerer?!" said Jack, dramatically.
"M-Magic is real?!" said Ciel.
Merlin laughed, "Of course child. Everyone has a bit of magic inside them, but most are not strong enough to manifest out of their soul core. In my world, we call those who do not have magical abilities, muggles. Those who are born with muggle parents are called muggleborns. Those with one magical parent and one muggle parent are called a half-blood and lastly, those who have two magical parents of three generations passed down are called purebloods."
"So…we're muggleborns?" asked Scot.
"But how's that possible?" asked Olette.
"Correct, and it's because the connection you have with your dragons," replied Merlin. "You see, dragons are magical creatures. Each species of dragons has their own kind of magic. When a dragon forms a bond with a human, that human gains the element of the dragon."
Jack's eyes sparkle, "That means I have thunder!"
Olette smirked, "And I have fire…I can literally burn you alive."
Jack backed away from Olette with a nervous smile.
Scot tapped his chin, "So my element is wind…neat."
"But I'm not sure about mine," said Rose, sadly.
"Who is your dragon partner, my dear?" asked Merlin.
"A Snaptrapper, sir," replied Rose. "I met him two years ago at a meadow. He was sleeping near some patch of flowers, but he woke up when he heard my footsteps. And when he looked into my eyes…I felt a warm feeling in my heart, telling me that we belong together."
Merlin nodded, "That's the connection starting to form. As for your magic, seeing as your dragon is nature base then yours is as well…including healing magic, child."
Rose widened her eyes, "Healing magic?"
Jack whistled, "Impressive, Rosie."
"But sir, Hiccup and I have Night Furies, but didn't gain their power," asked Anna. "I can control water while Hiccup…well…"
"I don't know what I gained," said Ciel.
"Night Furies or Fulgur dragons, what we call them, can control lightning," said Merlin. He rubbed his beard, "Lightning and Thunder may look the same, but in truth, they're different. While Jack's element comes through his hand, Ciel's comes through his body."
Ciel and Jack eyes widened until Jack let out a huge grin on his face. He gave Ciel a death hug, "See? I told you Hiccup! We are brothers! Even our own dragons are brothers!"
Merlin continues, "But there's something I've heard from Romania…that the human gains something remarkable from a Night Fury."
"So how do we unlock Ciel's element, sir?" asked Rose.
"It's quite simple, child. Young Ciel has to find his magical core in his soul; same way as mediating," said Merlin. "All he has to do is to find the core and release the lock."
Ciel's eye twitched, "That's simple…right, what I have to do, sir?"
Within an hour, Merlin was helping Ciel while his friends and parents were waiting by the side lines. Suddenly a bright bluish glow formed around Ciel before it was released around the throne room. Once the light dim down, Ciel and Merlin were on the floor, unconscious.
"Hiccup!" shouted Anna before she and his parents ran over to him. Charles and Marianne went over to Merlin to make sure he was alright.
Elizabeth hold onto Ciel, "Honey, dear…please wake up."
Ciel winced, "Wha – What just happened?"
"You tell us, mate," said Jack. "There was this blue glow surrounding ya, blinding us. After it went away, you and Merlin were on the ground."
"I…I don't know…" said Ciel.
"I believe I can explain."
Ciel saw Merlin standing while Charles and Marianne were behind him.
"In all my years, I've never experienced such a strong connection," said Merlin before frowning, "But you formed that connection because of your horrible childhood. I was able to see some of your memories when you unlock your core."
Liza frowned, "What do you mean, Merlin?"
Merlin was about to explain when the doors blasted open to reveal an angry Toothless. He glides over to Ciel and started growling at the sorcerer, preparing to attack.
"Take it easy bud," said Ciel, pulling Toothless away from Merlin. That's when he heard a male voice in his mind.
"No, he hurt you Hiccup. He's not going unpunished."
"T-Toothless…" said Ciel, speechless. "Did you just …"
"I take it that you heard a male voice, your dragon's voice in your head, correct young Ciel?" Merlin laughed. Ciel nodded, slowly while Anna and his friends were shocked.
Jack shook off his shock and marched over to Ciel. He leaned over to his face, "Did…Did you really hear Toothless' voice in your bloody head, mate?"
"Y-Yea," replied Ciel, looking at his dragon partner. "Toothless is mad at Merlin for 'hurting me' and he's not going unpunished."
Toothless stopped glaring at the sorcerer before looking over at his human partner with a shocked look on his face. "You can really hear me, Hiccup?"
Ciel nodded.
Toothless had an uncertain look, "Repeat what I'm going to say."
Upon hearing what his partner said, Ciel blushed. "There's no way I'm going to say that out loud, Toothless! Say something else! Anything but that, you useless reptile!"
Toothless smirked, "No need. I know you can hear me…so that sorcerer didn't hurt you, right? Then what was that hot feeling I felt not too long ago?"
Ciel frowned, "What hot feeling? Merlin, do you know what Toothless is talking about?"
"Ah, you see, if something happens to you, your dragon partner can feel it through your connection. The feeling is normally hot for them as a warning," explained Merlin.
"Well, that would explain a few things," said Anna.
"Yea, Yea! I want to see Ciel's lightning!" Jack said, waving his hand. Anna pouted, angrily and turned her head away while Olette pulled Jack's ear.
Ciel laughed, nervously before closing his eyes and felt a strange energy flowing through his body. He opened his eyes to see he was covered in a glowing bright blue light and sparks are surrounding him. Suddenly, the sparks grow bigger until it was released like a shockwave.
Quickly, Merlin cast a shield spell around everyone while Ciel's lightning ran throughout the throne room. Once the sparks dimmed down, he let down the shield, "Quite a powerful shockwave young Ciel. You – all of you must learn how to control your element. I would be glad to help you out."
"Really?" said Jack, excitedly. "That would be bloody great!"
"How do we control our element, sir?" asked Olette.
"Through your emotions," replied Merlin. "Through experience from four students of mine, they had to control their own magic through their emotions and channel their core as well. However, they used wands to help them channel their magic…elemental magic is quite different. I believe channeling your connection with your dragons might help you control your element along controlling your emotions."
"So, for right now, we have to be careful," said Scot.
Merlin nodded, "Not many muggles welcome magic with open arms. Where I live, the muggles hunt down witches and wizards and burn them or hang them."
Ciel and the others gasped.
"W-Why?" asked Anna, quietly.
"Muggles believe that magic is the devil's magic, something evil against their holy god," replied Merlin before frowning. "It's leading to false leads to innocent muggles to actually killing someone…a child to an untimely death."
"C-Children?" said Rose, softly.
"I'm relieved that this part of Scotland hasn't fallen into these 'Witch trials' while a few have," said Merlin, sadly.
"Don't worry old friend," said Charles. "I'll make sure the citizens understand that magic is not evil. Instead, magic can be useful to them."
"And how are you going to do that?" asked Victor.
Charles winked, "Simple. Their future King and Queen will protect them, using magic along with their dragon partners."
"That…might work," said Liza while Ciel and Anna blushed. "If the people can see that the dragons were not evil, then introducing them with good magic, they will accept it."
"I second that," said Marianne.
"Excellent! Now, shall we begin our first lesson children," said Merlin, happily. Ciel and his friends nodded and followed the elder sorcerer out to the gardens.
-Ryder's cottage, forest clearing-
It's been three months since Ciel and his friends have been training with Merlin and so far, they were doing well…well, most of them.
Jack and Olette would times forget about maintaining their emotions which led to thunderstorms and forest fires unexpectedly. Luckily, Merlin stayed at the palace and was able to stop their powers going out of control.
Right now, Ciel and Jack were sword practicing while Scot and Olette were practicing their elements. Rosaline was grooming her dragon partner while Anna was in her politics lessons.
Jack smirked, "Let's see if you can block this!"
Ciel was about to block the incoming attack when they heard a crash coming within the forest. He looked over at his friends who nodded. He and his friends ran into the forest to where they heard the crash. They stopped to see an injured young adult girl and – a silver dragon?!
"Bloody hell, what happened to her and her dragon?" wondered Jack.
Rosaline quickly ran over to her and started healing the simple cuts and bruises. The same with the dragon next to her. She sighed, "Someone needs to get Merlin so he can heal her other injures while someone needs to carry her to the cottage…um not sure about the dragon."
"Jack and I will carry the dragon near the cottage while Scot carry the girl to the cottage. Olette will get Merlin, any questions?" ordered Ciel. Everyone shook their heads. The auburn teen nodded, "Let's go."
While Ciel and Jack worked on getting the silver dragon to the cottage, Scot carefully carried the mysterious girl and dashed towards the cottage. Olette called out her dragon and jumped onto the saddle, flying towards the palace while Rosaline followed Scot to the cottage.
Within an hour, the silver dragon was placed in the stables while Merlin was finishing healing the mysterious girl in the living room.
"Now who is this lovely girl?" asked Merlin.
Before anyone could answer, the mysterious girl started to move before opening her eyes. She looks around, "…W-Where…Where…am I? Is…this…Scotland?"
"You are, my dear," answered Merlin. "What's your name, child? Why are you here?"
The girl winced, "Three…three y-years ago…a group of…dragon riders…saved me and my-my family from…Alvin…a-a boy…he offered me and my family…to-to live in Scotland…"
Ciel widened his eyes, "Heather?!"
-Break Line-
Who will offer Heather their home for the young Viking?
Will Ciel tell Heather who his former name and life?
