Remembering the Recommendation tests.

Present Mic calls out, "Rock on! The written part of the recommendation test is over. The practical's next. And then, finally, the interview. You'll go six at a time for the practical. Get steppin' when your number's called. The exam will be a three-kilometer race. But, it's an obstacle course, so you can't just run straight through it. Use your Quirk to reach the finish!"

Yoarashi had muttered, "This is it. The best hero school in Japan."

We stood at the start line waiting for the go and a buzzer blares and we race forward. Shoto, Yoarashi, and I all at the front trying to get ahead.

Yoarashi had muttered, "The most passionate training I could hope for is waiting for me."

Shoto and I had shot past Yoarashi but Yoarashi hadn't been able to see me since I was on the other side of Shoto.

Yoarashi muttered, "Making an ice path to move. That's smart. I really didn't like the look in his eyes. But his abilities are on fire! He'll probably be accepted after this. Then maybe I can become friends with him, and his eyes won't bother me anymore!" Yoarashi had raced forward.

Shoto, Yoarashi, and I arrived at the finish line together. Yoarashi and I literally passing at exactly the same time and Shoto just a second or two behind us.

Present Mic had said, "Wowzah! Number 41 and 22 finishes first by a hair! It's our first ever tie!" Present Mic looking at the device mutters, "And it's three minutes faster than the average time."

I just stood there smiling. Shoto looked at the ground. Yoarashi pumped his fist and said, "All right! I won! But who knows what'll happen next time." Yoarashi had turned to Shoto say loudly, "You were amazing! I'm guessing you must be Endeavor's kid, am I right?" Shoto had stiffened as I watch out of the corner of my eye. Yoarashi had continued unknowingly, "That's so awesome."

Shoto bristled and said, "Shut up." Yoarashi had stopped with a gasp and stared stunned. Shoto continued, "I just came here to pass a stupid test, that's all. I don't care if I beat you or not, so give it a rest."

Yoarashi muttered, "Those eyes."

Shoto continued, "You're in my way."

Yoarashi continued muttering, "It's like he hates something that isn't even here."

Izuku says looking at Yoarashi and Shoto while carrying Shindo in the air with Full Cowling, "Dammit. What are you two doing?!"

Both Shoto and Yoarashi gasp stunned.

Izuku lands with a dust cloud.

A pro in the stands says, "Hard to believe they're from top schools."

Another pro says, "Probably end up failing. Only the girl will pass out of those three. Not that I'd blame the judges."

Shoto says, "A Quirk that uses wind." Shoto looks up at him with wide eyes. Shoto mutters, "That's right. He was in my way. He beat me at the recommendation exam tying with Cara. Why didn't I remember him? He's so loud and obnoxious. I guess I wasn't really seeing him back then. I just needed to reject that bastard. I wasn't thinking about anything else. I did everything I could to ignore who I am. Is that catching up to me? My past, and my blood...I can't just bury them or forget about them."

Gang Orca starts reaching forward towards Shoto saying, "No more games." Shoto luckily dodges backwards. Gang Orca turns to Yoarashi saying, "First I'll stop the wind." Gang Orca throws an ultrasonic blast at Yoarashi.

Yoarashi getting hit yells, "No!" He continues yelling as he gets paralyzed from Gang Orca's Quirk.

Some of Gang Orca's minions cheer and say, "Got 'im!"

Another says, "That's our boss! A total powerhouse."

Another says, "Now it's time to trap these do-gooders in cement."

Yoarashi starts falling to the ground grunting and says, "No good. I can't control it."

Shoto says, "Hey!" as he's grabbed by Gang Orca.

Gang Orca says holding Shoto up toward him, "You reap what you sow." Gang Orca starts his ultrasonic wave and I throw my eyes open wide and use Erasure having my braid lift in the air but it stops the ultrasonic wave from paralyzing Shoto mostly.

Yoarashi hits the ground.

Gang Orca turns to me and says, "Daughter of Pro Heroes, Eraserhead and Fiery Frost Phoenix. And Goddaughter of Pro Heroes, Best Jeanist and Present Mic. You already have your provisional license you are just here to determine if you keep it. Should have known you'd have Erasure like your Father with how many Quirks you have." He still holds Shoto up as Shoto is dazed a little from a small dose of the ultrasonic wave Gang Orca tried to use before I stopped it.

Gang Orca looks at Yoarashi on the ground and says, "He was too far away. He's not done yet."

Gang Orca's minions start running and one says, "While the boss is at it, let's go destroy the evacuation shelter. He'll love that!"

Another says, "Hell yeah!"

Shoto mutters, "Shit!"

I hear Yoarashi say, "Not like this."

I let go of Erasure and get ready with my Capture Weapon while creating thousands of Blades of Light. I quickly shoot many at the minions easily putting most of them out of commission. And I turn to Gang Orca fully creating more Blades of Light in the air to the point that the air seems to shine.

Shoto and Yoarashi mutter together, "Seriously!"

Yoarashi mutters, "How did I become everything I hated?"

Shoto mutters, "I'm in this mess because of my own actions."

Yoarashi and Shoto mutter together again, "I have to fix this."

Mina looking back says, "Oh, no. They're gonna catch us! Faster, guys!"

Izuku lays Shindo down and looks stunned as most of Gang Orca's minions getting frozen as Blades of Light hit them.

Izuku mutters, "They're too close. I have to be the front line. Especially if Cara falls."

Shindo reaches out pushing Izuku back a little and says, "I'll take care of this." Orca's minions gasp and yelp as Shindo's vibrations cause the earth to rattle under them.

Izuku watching says, "Whoa, Shindo! I thought you couldn't move because of his blast."

Shindo straining says, "Well, my extremities are still pretty numb, but I'll bounce back. Soundwaves aren't that bad. Not much different from my vibrations. So I've built up a pretty good tolerance to them. Might be the first time I've been thankful for that recoil. Anyway. I was trying to get a surprise attack in on that whale! And then those two first-years ruined it. At least Cara can do something."

Izuku mutters, "So intense."

Shindo continues towards us, "I've tripped the henchmen. Now you make sure they're out of the game. We'll split up and get the remaining injured to the shelter."

Izuku says, "Right!" Izuku goes Full Cowling and runs forward.

Gang Orca says with Shoto still in his grasp, "Now, then." He drops Shoto and continues, "I'll take down the wind-user and continue with the attack."

Shoto mutters on the ground, "We competed with each other for no reason. Our Quirks aren't compatible, and we have zero teamwork. There's no way we can beat a top hero when we're at odds like this. But Cara can't fight him alone. Hopefully, he understands, too, and feels the same way I do."

I watch Shoto closely and see him start using his fire and letting it grow. Shoto mutters, "Come on. Work with me."

Yoarashi mutters, "I'm so numb that I can't put much into my Quirk, but...I have to do this!" Yoarashi starts using his wind and I quickly allow myself to go into Shadow Wolf becoming huge but still maintaining my control over the form since Dad and I had been working hard on it with Midnight and Uncle Mic. I step back as I watch Shoto's fire and Yoarashi's wind collide and make a big attack right at Gang Orca.

Shoto mutters, "With fire..."

Yoarashi mutters, "...and wind..."

Together Shoto and Yoarashi mutters, "...we'll trap you!"

I watch stunned at the attack and focusing again I create hundreds of Blades of Light and send them at Gang Orca who is trapped with fire and wind.

I hear Gang Orca say, "He didn't even move his body. His strength and accuracy have decreased, but his incapacity wasn't complete. He's able to control his Quirk. Barely. And this one. Todoroki can't move either. But he's adding his raw power to Yoarashi's attack. This won't make up for their foolishness earlier, but it's not a bad start. They know they can't leave Cara to be the only one to attack. They realized their mistake. And as such, they're trying to make up for it. I have to admire their persistence."

One of the Orca minions that was freed from my Blades of Light due to Shindo's Quirk says, "Hey, behind us!"

Another says, "The boss is trapped by some kinda fire tornado!"

Another asks, "Isn't that bad? He's an orca, so he's super weak when he gets dried out! Forget the wind. Stop the flame!"

The Orca minions start shooting cement at Shoto but Shoto is quick to put up a wall of ice to protect himself from the cement. I run in and start biting with Shadow Wolf at Gang Orca making sure not to hit anything vital but just enough to cause him to back up against Shoto's fire as my body is being protected by Shadow Wolf.

One of the Orca minions says, "What? Todoroki! He used both sides!"

Shoto mutters, "If I could only use both sides at the same time, like Cara does. Switching slows me down. I need to practice more. Maybe Cara can help. When I can't move, my speed doesn't make a difference."

Another orca minion asks, "Should we go back and help?"

Another says, "Hey! Look out!"

Izuku flies forward and says, "Smash!" and kicks some of the minions. Izuku mutters, "We can stop them."

Another minion says, "Keep shooting!"

Ojiro comes and grabs a minion's cement gun and says forcing it out of his hand, "I'll take this." Ojiro goes hiting multiple of the minions.

Izuku mutters, "Nice moves."

Ojiro landing next to Izuku says, "'Kay. The injured have all been evacuated, and reinforcements should be here any minute now."

Mera in his booth says, "Looks like almost all of HUC has been rescued. They only have three people to get to safety before they're done. Then, the test will be over for the year. They just have to do their best to hold Gang Orca off until then. I'll be able to sleep soon."

Tokoyami and Mina come in to help assist Ojiro and Izuku with the minions while me, Shoto, and Yoarashi continue to hold off Gang Orca.

Mina asks, "Hey, guys! You miss me?"

Tokoyami says, "We're here to help."

The Orca minions continue to shoot cement forward. One says, "Mow them down! Don't let up!"

Tsu comes in with her special move being camouflaged and shoots out her tongue saying, "Ribbit!" and knocks many of the Orca minions off their feet.

Tsu reveals herself causing Izuku to say, "Asui - er, Tsu! When did you sneak over here?"

Tsu says, "I've been training my frog skills, and I've finally reached a new level of control. Camouflage. That's my new special move."

Ojiro says, "Wow, Asui. Are you done with the search and rescue already?"

Tsu says, "For the most part." Tsu's eyes widen and she says, "Ribbit! Look out!"

Orca minions tried to get the jump on Ojiro but Mora comes out of nowhere and shoots his hair at the minions causing them to yelp as they are forced back.

Ojiro says watching, "Shiketsu High!"

Mora says, "I sent Inasa here to help. But he has disgraced our school's name. There should be no enemies left."

Ojiro watching says, "So strong!"

Tsu says, "Yeah."

Tokoyami going forward says, "We're not done yet."

Tsu says, "Ribbit." And Tsu and Ojiro follow Tokoyami forward.

I see Izuku outside of the tornado of fire and wind watching it as I am in the fire and wind tornado facing Gang Orca head on.

Gang Orca says, "A cyclone prison of wind and fire. With one of their strongest allies unbothered by fire to fight me inside. Smart move, Cara, using your Quirk Shadow Wolf that you refused to use before. Not bad. An ordinary villain would give up. Would weep and beg your mercy."

I snap at Gang Orca as he pours water on himself.

Gang Orca continues, "But what would you do, if your desperate trap was not enough. You must always be planning your next move."

I can hear Yoarashi and Shoto struggling on the outside and I risk dropping Shadow Wolf and I'm quick to grab my Capture Weapon and get ready to grab ahold of Gang Orca just as Shoto and Yoarashi's Quirks go out.

Gang Orca says, "So...What now?"

Shoto out of the corner of my eye had dwindling fire. I hear Shoto mutter, "I have nothing."

Izuku screams coming forward, "No! Get away from those two!"

Izuku goes to kick Gang Orca and while Gang Orca is distracted with blocking Izuku's kick I grab him in my Capture Weapon.

Gang Orca says, "Midoriya! Cara! Working together!"

Shoto mutters on the ground watching, "How does he always do this?"

A buzzer blares as I keep tightening my Capture Weapon around Gang Orca while using Erasure at the same time.

Izuku says looking up, "Huh?"

Mera says, "Um, yeah, so, at this time, all of the HUC members who were deployed have been rescued from the disaster zone."

Kaminari says with someone in his arms, "Huh? Really?"

Eijiro says, "We were the last ones?"

Mera on the speaker says, "It may seem anticlimactic, but with this, the provisional licensing exam has officially been completed."

Izuku stays on the ground, "It's over?"

I drop my Capture Weapon and say, "Sorry, Gang Orca, sir."

He nods at me and says, "You've done your parents proud, Young Cara Aizawa. You'll make an excellent pro as you have already been showing with your work."

I nod at him and go help Shoto up.

Mera continues, "After we tally the scores, we'll announce the results here in the arena. Anyone injured should go to the infirmary. The rest of you are free to change clothes and wait wherever you like."

One of the orca minions says, "Sorry, Boss. I guess we didn't do our job all that well, huh? And your restraining gear must've made it pretty hard to move."

Gang Orca says scratching his face, "No. The gear wasn't a problem. That tower of flame was an inspired attack. And Cara's attacks from every angle with multiple Quirks. And with Midoriya's surprise counter once I had been weakened...We might have had a hard time if the test went on. Even lost. Hmph."

We quickly got dressed in our school attire with me being the only exception in my normal black leggings, black tank top, and black horse riding boots on. We all stood in front of a stage with Mera on it and a screen behind him.

Mera says, "Okay. Everyone. Thanks for your hard work in today's exam. Now, before I announce the results. I should probably explain the way we evaluated you. Between HUC, and those of us at the Heroes Public Safety Commission, we had a two-fold demerit system that we used to determine your total scores. In other words, we were evaluating you based on how few mistakes you made in a crisis situation. Anyway, the names of those who passed are listed here in alphabetical order. Keep my words in mind as you search the screen for your name."

Everyone looks closely at the screen and I see my name within the first 5 people. I go on looking for each classmate and find that all, but Shoto and Bakugo had passed. Also Inasa Yoarashi failed as well.

Izuku mutters looking at the screen, "Midoriya...Midoriya..." Izuku gasps.
