Welcome back to The Injustice Wars. Last time, Blaze and company met the Society's mysterious benefactor close up, revealing Brainiac of Colu. Thankfully for them, Batman was able to somehow use Brother Eye to hack into Brainiac's ship, in other words the exact reverse of what happens in Injustice 2, and pull everyone back to Earth, revealing there's still some hostility between Blaze and the Dark Knight. Either way, Blaze left the new Batcave to warn Supergirl that Brainiac is coming for Superman, and likely her once he finds out she exists. So... how's that going to go? Read on to discover...

(Our story resumes back with the Element Guard, awaiting the return of their missing members. Just as worry starts to set in, Blaze, Shade, Blitz, Catwoman, and Flash finally enter the room, much to everyone's relief)

Ember: (Embracing her daughter) Blaze! Thank the Ancestors you're okay.

Flame: What happened out there? One minute we're picking up your heat signatures in Gorilla City and the next you've vanished off the face of the earth!

Blitz: Long story short, we just got done meeting with the Society's benefactor.

Supergirl: This is excellent news! Who is it?

Shade: I have a feeling you're not going to like the news.

Supergirl: I can take it. Who is it?

Blaze: He called himself Brainiac.

(Upon hearing the name Brainiac, Supergirl recoils in shock and horror. Her face frozen as she recalls the destruction of Krypton by Brainiac's hand)

Flash: (Seeing the horror on her face) Kara? You okay?

Supergirl: We have to act fast.

Blaze: I had a feeling you knew something about this guy.

Rokko: Wait, how did you know Kara would know this Brainiac guy?

Blaze: He specifically said he originally came here to find Superman. So, consider it an educated guess.

Sizzle: Wait, this creep's here for Superman? Sounds like maybe we should just hand him over. Get rid of the High Councilor once and for all.

Blaze: The key word in that sentence was "originally".

Twirl: I already don't like what that's hinting at.

Blaze: Let's just say Brainiac's become fascinated by Earth, and he wants to add it to his collection, and then destroy it.

Flash: We can't have that happen.

Blaze: And as expected, the Bat isn't going to do anything.

Flash: To be honest, I wouldn't say that. He was probably more pissed off that we brought you guys back. Something tells me he's got the Insurgency on it.

Supergirl: The Insurgency doesn't stand a chance against Brainiac. He's the one who destroyed Krypton!

Catwoman: So... is that it? Are we just doomed?

Blaze: I wouldn't say we're doomed yet. Batman may not like that we're back, but right now we're needed more than ever. I'd say it's time we got into this war proper. But we're going to need more than just us. (To Flash) Barry, what's the Insurgency got these days?

Flash: Aside from Ollie and Dinah, all I know about for sure is Harley Quinn and a pair of new heroes, Blue Beetle and Firestorm, but Bruce kept what they can do on the down-low.

Blaze: And if Kara's to be believed, Bruce's little sextet isn't going to be enough. So it's time for us to gather heroes to help in the fight.

Supergirl: Then we need to move fast. If I had to take a guess, Diana and Black Adam are already on the move.

Blaze: What makes you...? (Puts it together) You told them about Brainiac, didn't you?

Supergirl: They asked my story, and thinking I could trust them, I told them everything.

Blaze: If the Regime is going to mobilize, then we really need to move fast. Do we have anyone who can join the fight?

Flash: At the moment, it's just us.

Blaze: Then that's something we need to rectify. We need to track down candidates who can join our league and fight against Brainiac.

Catwoman: I may be able to help on that front. Before assigning me to the Society, Bruce had me keep tabs on some of his former associates from back in Gotham as well as some potential new recruits for the Insurgency.

Blaze: How many of them are willing to talk with him?

Catwoman: I'm honestly unsure at this point.

Blaze: Well, right now they're all we've got. Get your files, let's see who we're working with here.

Catwoman: Gladly.

(With that, Catwoman opens up a secret panel on one of the walls and pulls out a set of files)

Catwoman: (Throws the files on the table) Here's everyone we've got. Admittedly, a few of them were my personal additions.

(As the files hit the table, we see each marked with a photograph, revealing exactly who we're dealing with here: Batgirl, Vixen, Black Lightning, the Atom, Zatanna, Deathstroke, Mr. Freeze, and Red Hood)

Blaze: Some of these names I recognize, others not so much. (Sees Black Lightning) Wasn't he Regime, at one point?

Flash: Jefferson changed his ways. You can trust me on that much.

Blaze: I'll take your word for that, Barry. Alright then, here's the plan. We'll each split up and try to get each of them to join our group.

?: Then you've already got your first recruit.

(Catching everybody off guard, the source of the voice is soon revealed to be none other than Green Arrow.)

Blaze: Ollie? What're you doing here?

Green Arrow: (Sees Black Lightning's file) Let's just say Jefferson and I are starting to become of similar mindsets. Ever since Batman pitched Brother Eye, I've started becoming disillusioned with the Insurgency. Mass surveillance is just not a step I'll take in good conscience.

Blaze: What about Dinah?

Green Arrow: She... kind of doesn't know what I'm doing. She doesn't see the problems I am with Batman's plans. But she does know I'm here, Batman does too.

Blaze: So the Bat sent you to spy on us.

Green Arrow: And as far as they know, that's what I'm doing. But in private, consider me a part of your team. (Thinking about it) You know you really need a name. The dragon team doesn't quite roll of the tongue. How about the League?

Blaze: Sounds too much like the late Justice League. May stir up some bad memories in the possible recruits.

Green Arrow: The Society would've been my next choice, but that's taken by the wrong side.

Blaze: We can still work with League though, but something similar that nobody's seen on this earth. (Snaps her fingers after thinking for a few minutes) How about The Legion?

Green Arrow: The Legion? I kind of like it!

Blaze: The Legion it is then. Now that we've got that covered, we need to split up and get as man of these people recruited as we can. Ollie, Barry, you're with me, and we're going after Black Lightning. Element Guard, pick a target and head out that way. We'll rendezvous back here with everyone we've got. Hydrar, Bloodtar, you two keep an eye on things here, warn us if anything starts going on. Alright? Let's get going then.

And that looks like a good place to wrap up for now. And at last Blaze's faction has it's name, the Legion. Fun fact, out of the three fan factions involved in this war, two of which will be introduced later, this is the one I created initially. Yami and I modified it with some of his characters and some different characters along the way over our several years' working relationship. And as for the name? It was derived from an unlikely source, the old DC series Challenge of the Superfriends, specifically their villainous faction, the Legion of Doom, referencing the fact that there were originally 13 DC Characters in the membership. In fact, two members of the original Legion of Doom were members of the initial Legion. And they still are, or rather will be as time goes on. More on them later in the story, but one is coming very soon I can confirm. So, the mission is set, and eight targets are set for recruitment. So how's that going to go? Tune in next time to find out! Same time... same channel!
