SPOILERS FOR NINA SECTION OF THE SERIES.

Disclaimer: This is fanfiction. Isn't it already obvious that I don't own FMA? Otherwise, there'd be so many more episodes...

All right, so here's my first FMA piece after finally finishing the series. I'm uncertain on whether or not I have everything quite right here, so feedback would be greatly appreciated. That's probably the reason that it's a drabble. xD My inspiration for this piece would be, of course, that adorable little girl, Nina. :( R&R please! And please, enjoy.

Every year, the same day, the same month, Edward Elric never failed to come. His brother always asked what he was doing there, and he'd choose to remain enigmatic, and replied, "I needed to keep a promise."

His brother always wanted to come with him, as always, but Ed never let him. No one knew where the alchemist went during those times, and Al had to accept it; there was no budging his brother.

Every time, he came with the same gifts; a huge white dog doll, a big ball, snow and a transmuted flower of purple. Every time, he came to the same gravestone, which nothing was in, besides perhaps a few splatters of blood. Every time, he bounced the ball, back and forth, back and forth, all day and all night, whispering a name, and how he kept his promise.

"Nina, Nina, I'm here…"

Some said he cried, small rivers flowing down his cheeks from golden eyes. Some said that only his shoulders shook, but no tears came out. Some said he was insane, some a ghost. Some even said that he was Full Metal Alchemist, but O no, it couldn't be true. He couldn't be so small, so frail looking. He couldn't be so quiet. He had the golden eyes, the shocking blond mop, but O no, it couldn't be him. He was renowned for his temper.

Some came up to him, asking who he was crying for, and Full Metal Alchemist would have cursed, flipped them off and told them to look at the goddamn, fucking gravestone, and to go away. Edward Elric had to keep a promise, but that's all he would do. No talking necessary.

Al claimed that he always came back with a steely determination to stop bloodshed. He didn't know why, he never did, but all he knew was that they always came to Central on the day that they promised their beloved Nina. We'll come back and play. And play, Ed did, although it was alone, and filled with bitterness and tears. He whispered her name, and so for the rest of the year, he could try to forget his precious Nina.

Poor Ed, and poor Nina. :( Anyways, I hope you all enjoyed it!
