Welcome back to The Injustice Wars. Last time, Blaze, Green Arrow, and Flash headed for the White House to recruit the last target of the Legion's little recruitment drive, Black Lightning, now the President of the United States. And after being attacked by Black Adam and recently liberated Cyborg and Robin, Black Lightning agreed to resume his costumed escapades as part of the Legion. So with their recruitment finished, what awaits the Legion next? Read on to discover...

(Our story resumes at the Legion's headquarters, where everyone has gathered to discuss the results of the recruitment.)

Blaze: (Seeing all the new recruits are here) I see everything went according to plan, and we've got our little Legion pretty firmly established.

Black Lightning: I'll admit, kind of a motley crew you've got here.

Blaze: Motley though it may be, it's all we've got at the moment.

Deathstroke: Honestly, this isn't a bad starting lineup.

Zatanna: Deathstroke makes a good point, you've got a pretty good collection of metahumans, magic users, scientific minds... not bad for a new faction.

Mr. Freeze: If I may say one thing, the only thing this little faction seems to be missing is force.

Vixen: Victor makes a good point. There's not a lot of brute force on this team.

Rokko: I think we'll be able to make up for that by having the US military on our side, since the Commander in Chief is part of this group.

Black Lightning: I hate to burst your bubble, but the US military isn't exactly what it used to be. We're still recovering from being under the Regime for so long.

Twirl: Then it looks like we'll need another heavy military presence.

Supergirl: Wait, what about Atlantis?

Blaze: No.

Supergirl: But if what I've...

Blaze: NO.

Spyro: Blaze, I know you have bad blood with Atlantis.

Blaze: I have nothing against Atlantis, it's their king I have problems with.

Red Hood: What's the story there?

Shade: Aquaman killed her beloved.

Red Hood: Ouch.

Shade: You can say that again.

Cynder: Believe me, Blaze. I don't want to do this either, but we need to at least try.

Flash: It's like I said, Aquaman wasn't as Regime-committed as many of the others were. And that aside, if I know Wonder Woman, she's probably going to send Regime officers to try and convince him to rejoin. This isn't so much a mission to recruit him for the Legion, as much as it is a mission to stop the Regime from getting him back.

(At first, Blaze continues to hold firm against the idea of interacting with the king of Atlantis. But eventually, she gives in with a sigh.)

Blaze: Fine. We'll give it a shot. I don't like this, but we'll give it a shot.

Flash: That's the spirit. (Checking a nearby clock) It's getting late, so we'll head out for Atlantis first thing in the morning.

Blaze: Fine.

(As the meeting concludes, we transition back to Blaze's quarters, where she has taken out her journal again and started writing.)

"I know it's been a while since I put an entry in this, but there's been a lot going on. From seeing the full extent of the Society's influence, to recruiting for our little Legion. I'll be honest, I don't know what I was thinking in agreeing to this. I'm still not ready to handle the Element Guard yet, let alone to create a whole new faction in this war. I was out of my depth already, but this is ridiculous! Possibly my only saving grace is that Drago's parents are here. I don't know what I'd do without them. They're really my only link back to him..."

(With that, Blaze is interrupted by a knock on her door, which she opens, revealing Flash.)

Blaze: What's up, Barry?

Flash: I just wanted to talk about today.

Blaze: What specifically? A lot happened today.

Flash: The whole decision to talk to Aquaman. (Sits down on Blaze's bed, next to her) I know you don't like this. I know you've got bad associations with Arthur ever since you were here last.

Blaze: I've been thinking about it, and you make a good point. All we're really trying to do is convince Aquaman not to rejoin the Regime. If he sides with Batman, we've got no issues. Hopefully. Probably our best case scenario is that he stays out of it entirely.

Flash: Since nobody's seen him since the war, I guess that would fit.

Blaze: You mean he's never been tried for what happened?

Flash: Diplomatic immunity.

Blaze: Now there's a concept that needs to die. Surprised we didn't take on legislation to undo that after the Regime fell.

Flash: Believe me, you guys left quite a mark. There's people out there who straight up worship you. Both good and bad.

Blaze: Seriously?

Flash: Let's just say Spyro shouldn't have been so candid in talking about this "Dark Master" you guys defeated.

Blaze: Malefor? He was before my time.

Flash: Well, apparently despite knowing nothing about him, some people have taken to worshipping this unknown figure.

Blaze: (Surprised) And you didn't tell us about this why?

Flash: They haven't proven a threat. They're just a bunch of fanatics worshipping something they couldn't possibly understand.

Blaze: Then you'd better hope they stay that way. Because if they're anything like the cults that worship Malefor on our world, they could prove extremely dangerous.

(As soon as Blaze says that, we transition to what looks like a farmhouse on the outskirts of Gotham City, where a female figure in green and black leads a series of cloaked figures in some sort of ritual, the Aethercrest stenciled all over the walls. This figure is Enchantress and this appears to be the group Flash just described. And behind Enchantress, on some sort of altar, are a series of artifacts, and a lit fire. As the cloaked figures start chanting something, Enchantress fiddles with the artifacts, mostly vials of some sort of chemicals, ultimately creating a powder that, when applied to the fire in the center of the altar, turns it a dark violet)

Enchantress: Excellent, just as the dark forces foretold. Now all we need is the blood of the dragons, and our master will arise!

(And as this scene settles in, our tale ends for today)

And that looks like a good spot to wrap up. Looks like we've got a little bit of foreshadowing going on here at the end. Anyone who's seen the Nullverse up to this point should have an idea of what's going on here and who exactly we're foreshadowing. And believe me, I'm as excited as the rest of you are for bringing him into this, considering I had trouble figuring out the timing for such a long time. That probably gave it away, but we'll see. So, aside from that, it looks like Blaze is heading to Atlantis to negotiate with Aquaman. So how's that going to go? Tune in next time to find out. Same time... same channel!
