Welcome back to The Injustice Wars. Last time, Blaze talked things out with Spyro and Cynder, and by the end of it was ready to lead the Legion into the defense of Stryker's Island to stop the Regime from rescuing Superman. And we even got a little flashback to the first Injustice War, to see how Blaze and company broke into Stryker's last time. So how're they going to pull off the break in this time? Read on to discover...
(Our story resumes in Legion headquarters where the still sheet covered table is covered in an additional layer of blueprints for Stryker's Island, in particular the area leading to Superman's prison.)
Blaze: Looks like Ollie wasn't lying! This place pretty much is still the same Stryker's Island we knew. (Examines the plans closer) Though it looks like they closed off a few of the passages since we were last there.
Flash: They had to do that to put in the red sun lamps.
Sizzle: So how're they going to get in is the question.
Blaze: (Examines the plans again) I think I've got it. If I know Diana like I think I do, they're going to go and try to get Superman out of there as fast as possible, chances are they're going to have Black Adam target the generators powering the red sun lamps. Take those out and Superman will power back up in no time.
Supergirl: Then the plan is simple, we need to protect those generators first and foremost.
Blaze: This calls for a two part plan. (Addressing the group) Alright, listen up. Here's the plan. If Ollie's intel is to be believed, Batman's already got the Insurgency on the inside at Stryker's Island. We're not there to upstage them, we're here to help them if anything. Manta, you'll get us in close with your submarine. From there we'll need to split up. Shade, Blitz, Hydrar, you'll lead a team down to secure the generators against Black Adam. Meanwhile, Mom, Dad, Spyro, Cynder, and I'll take another team up into the prison directly and maintain the integrity of the cell itself. The rest of the Element guard and act as watchmen, keeping an eye out for the Regime. Chances are with Aquaman, they'll be coming by sea. Sound like a good plan?
(Blaze's plan is met with various approving nods and other signs of approval)
Blaze: Alright then, that's what we'll do. Alright then, Manta, ready your submarine. We depart in 30.
(And with that, the meeting of the Legion breaks up, leaving only Blaze and Flash as last to leave)
Blaze: (Seeing Flash isn't moving) What's the hold up, Barry?
Flash: Just... seeing a lot of the past, and looking back on it with regret.
Blaze: What?
Flash: It feels like the Justice League is back, even if it's just for a moment. Makes this one thing worth it.
Blaze: One thing? What are you talking about?
Flash: This you have to see.
(With that, Flash clears the plans from the table and then removes the sheet that's been covering the table this whole time, revealing a familiar logo. This is the old Justice League conference table, though for some reason it's got a large crack down the center)
Blaze: Huh. Well isn't that cool.
Flash: Part of the reason the initial three of us started meeting here. Now it really feels like we've gotten a good restart.
Blaze: As nice as this is, right now, let's focus on the mission. Every second we waste is one second the Regime has on us.
Flash: Right. Let's go.
(With that we transition ahead what feels like a few hours, but is probably only a few minutes, to see the entirety of the Legion crammed in Black Manta's submarine)
Red Hood: Could've warned us it was going to be standing room only.
Black Manta: Just be glad we're not past the weight classification on this thing, you know with like 15 dragons onboard.
Blaze: (Slightly ticked off at the off hand comment at her family and friends' group weight) I'm going to let that slide since we're in a crisis situation.
Black Manta: Good.
Blaze: Changing subject) How far out are we from the prison?
Black Manta: We should be hitting the surrounding waters shortly. If you want to write out or revise your last will and testament, now's the time to do it.
(Taking a cue, Blaze pulls out her journal and starts writing an entry. It reads in this fashion:)
"After a long talk with Drago's parents, I'm finally back and ready for action. But this? This is big. We're trying to stop the remnants of the Regime from breaking out Superman. The stakes are much higher than the last time we were breaking into Stryker's Island. Probably because the place had to be heavily modified to better contain, you know, Superman. We're about to hit the beach, time to get into action.)
Black Manta: Hope everybody's ready, we're about to hit the beach. Metaphorically of course.
Blaze: Alright, what's the fastest way to hit the beach without coming up and giving ourselves away?
Black Manta: Probably getting shot out the torpedo tubes.
Blaze: Yeah, not going to work, anatomically for the majority of us.
Black Manta: Then we'll have to surface. I've got rafts that'll take you the rest of the way.
Blaze: Then that's what we'll do. Keep circling the island while we're in there. Send warning immediately if you see anything. Chances are Diana's going to use Aquaman to create a distraction.
Black Manta: Don't be surprised if you hear torpedoes going off as well.
Blaze: I expected nothing less. But try not to kill him.
Black Manta: I'll make no promises that he'll survive to trial.
Blaze: I was more asking such so I could kill him myself.
Black Manta: I'll be sure to save his throat for you then.
Blaze: Then let's get going.
(With that, the submarine surfaces, allowing the entirety of the Legion, save Black Manta, to exit. Once they hit the water's surface, they set up the inflatable rafts and start paddling towards Stryker's Island, as our tale ends for today)
And that looks like a good spot to wrap up for now. So, the Battle for Stryker's Island is about to begin. And let me say, there's going to be more to this than you'd expect once we hit the literal beach. So, what awaits Blaze and company on the inside? Tune in next time to find out! Same time... same channel!
