Tech-Star: You aren't wrong. Honestly, in spite of it being my favorite element, I was never exactly fond of any of the Undead levels in the game since they were extremely long, hard and felt somewhat cheap at times. And of course the boss fight was easily among the hardest in the game (either it or Kaos' fight holds my vote for hardest fight and I feel like they're among the harder fights in the series over all)
Gamelover41592: Thanks!
Alright, time to collect the Eternal Undead Source since the Skeleton Key level is filler.
"Is it time to go back?" Sky asked her father. After getting back with the mask, Hugo was all set to head for the Eternal Undead Source. T-Bone, however, revealed that in order to get into its holding spot, they needed the Skeleton Key. He knew where it was and Sky and Eon were all set to go.
Then several spiders crawled out of Sky's clothing.
No one was exactly sure how exactly the spiders got into her clothes, considering no spiders even got near her, but Sky naturally needed some time to recover. Eon had gone along with the Skylanders, leaving her with Skylanders to help her calm down.
"Are you sure you are ready?" Eon asked back. He would rather his daughter be okay.
"I'm fine!...Just keep the spiders away from me," Sky replied, causing a few Skylanders to chuckle.
"So, you guys ready to head down?" T-Bone asked. Sky giggled a little when she saw he had attached his head to the Skeleton Key.
"I believe so," Eon replied. Behind him, the Skylanders all nodded and/or gave thumbs up.
"Okay! Follow me!" T-Bone cheerfully said as he led the group back into the depths.
"Welp, there's the Creepy Citadel where the Eternal Undead Source rests in peace," T-Bone replied once the group reached the bottom of the stairs. Needless to say, it was even creepier than the other locals the group had been too. "Heh-heh. Okay, lemme see if I remember…First you'll enter the castle through the Main Gate. After you fight your way through the castle, you'll have to get to that gateway over there. Then - if you play your cards right, you'll find the Eternal Undead Source. Ha! Easy!"
"If you say so…" Hex mumbled under her breath.
"Oh here! Let me get the gate!" T-Bone remembered before sticking the key into the lock, opening the door for the Skylanders. "And don't worry, I'll be right behind you! And by that, I mean right here. Hahahahahahaha! Good luck!"
"Thanks…" Spyro grumbled as the group headed through the gates. There were already enemies waiting for them, but they were quickly given a double death.
"Shiny…" Prism Break trailed off as he looked over the massive crystals near the entrance. They appeared to be meant for a laser puzzle.
"Nice find, PB!" Terrafin commended his fellow Earth element Skylander. Working together, all the Skylanders quickly got the laser to where it needed to be, opening the pathway up.
"So THAT'S why there's so much focus on working together," Sky thought to herself. One of the most common things she had heard during lessons was that teamwork was one of the most important things about being a Skylander. And for Sky had seen on her travels, she could understand why. A Skylander was strong on their own, but working together made them borderline unstoppable. From there, all the groups had to do was solve a few more crystal puzzles before they had arrived at the main gate.
"We sure that wasn't Prism Break's old stomping grounds? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!?" Trigger Happy cackled, causing a few other Skylanders to chuckle as well.
"Uh…I don't think so," Prism Break earnestly answered, not getting why the other Skylanders were laughing.
"Never change, Prism," Bash simply said. Prism Break just shrugged and followed after the Skylanders.
"Oh great, one of these," Spyro huffed. The "these" was a lock puzzle. Most Skylanders didn't really have an issue solving them (it was actually taught in classes), but they were still extremely annoying because of how much of a time waste they were.
"Can I try?" Double Trouble asked. Everyone stepped aside to let him take a crack at it. The Tiki Man was able to finish rather quickly. "OOGA BOOGA BOO!"
"Well done, Double Trouble," Eon commended.
"Thank you, Master Eon!" Double Trouble eagerly thanked him. Behind them, Sky simply pictured the day that would be her.
"Why can't we just bring Blastermind?" Pop Fizz groaned as the group walked through the gate.
"Because Blastermind has his own duties," Eon reminded him.
"Yeah! They gotta guard the jail!" Sky chimed in. She knew about the Trap Masters. In fact, Eon had actually taken her and Aurora to visit Cloudcracker Prison once. All of them were extremely nice to the two girls, openly telling them stories about how they had caught the prisoners. From what Sky had heard, several of them were tracking the notorious Doom Raiders at the moment.
"Still, would make this easier," Pop Fizz mumbled. Spyro just gave him a nudge. From there, it was a long trek through the castle. The undead monsters hiding inside tried to stop the Skylanders, but they were quickly dealt with.
"Bit of a tight squeeze," Drobot noted as everyone squeezed onto the gateway. In a flash, the group found themselves at the top of the castle.
"Up there!" Chop Chop called out, using his sword to point towards the Eternal Undead Source. Before anyone could make a grab for it, however, Kaos' hologram projection appeared. The Skylanders all got ready for a brawl
"Well, well, well! I guess you thought you were just going to walk in here and take the Eternal Undead Source -eh? WELL YOU THOUGHT WRONG! HA!" Kaos roared at the heroes. "NOW - you're going to pay for meddling in my plans! MINION!" A clone of Ghost Roaster then appeared.
"Hey! I am not that ugly!" Ghost Roaster protested as the clone turned into his own skull form and charged the group. However, Ghost Roaster knew the weaknesses of his own attack well and with some help for Chop Chop and Hex, easily took the clone down.
"BAH! He means nothing!" Kaos insisted. "You still won't be leaving the Land of the Undead! Ever! Again! I SUMMON - MY EVIL UNDEAD SPELL OF DESTRUCTION!" This, much to everyone's dismay, turned out to mean lasers. However, they weren't immediately harmful, giving everyone a mercy period meant for dodging. No one was exactly sure why the mercy period was there, but they weren't complaining. When the lasers stopped, everyone was actually shocked to see Kaos didn't look all that upset. "Huh. No matter. Plenty more where that came from. How about another Evil Undead Minion to round things out!?" This time, a clone of Chop Chop appeared on the field.
"Hmm. This copy is a poor imitation," Chop Chop declared before clashing swords with his clone. While this battle was a bit harder (mostly because Eruptor nearly hit the real deal more than once), they were still able to bring the clone down.
"Mwahahahahaha!" Kaos howled with laughter, confusing everyone. Why was he in such a good mood? He was losing. "You may be wondering why I'm laughing."
"Actually yeah," Sky honestly admitted. "You're losing."
Kaos snarled at that, but didn't seem much angrier. "BECAUSE - I know you can't keep this up. SOON - you will make a mistake - and then this will all be over! NOW! I - KAOS- SUMMON MY PARTICULARLY EVIL UNDEAD SPELL OF TOTAL DESTRUCTION." This, naturally, wound up meaning more lasers.
"The lasers move now!" Dino-Rang called out in warning. This quickly cued the others in that they really needed to be on their toes. The patterns were also much more random and seemed to switch far faster. Thankfully, everyone got through with minimal damage.
"Ha. Ha. Ha. I'm still laughing here." The villain taunted them. "HA! See? There's another one. NOW - you face an even more powerful Undead Minion! ATTACK!" No one was really that shocked when a clone of Hex appeared.
"While I normally would not do something like this, I tend to struggle in dealing with attacks from close up," Hex admitted. "If the clone battles in the same fashion I do, chances are it will share the same weakness."
"Thanks for the tip!" Sunburn said as he teleported behind the clone to launch his attack. With this in mind, the Skylanders were able to quickly take the clone down. NOW, Kaos seemed to be getting angry.
"Oh come on?! Really?! REALLY?!" He complained. Sky had a feeling he had slammed his fists onto something. "FINE! I didn't want to do this. SCRATCH THAT! I TOTALLY WANT TO DO THIS! NOW - I SUMMON MY ULTIMATE UNDEAD SPELL OF COMPLETE AND UTTER DESTRUCTION!" Now, the lasers were a mix of moving and non moving ones and the speeds on the moving ones began to vary. Thankfully, however, they managed to make it out alive.
"That all you got!?" Spyro taunted the dark Portal Master, who was now showing how mad he truly was.
"WHATTTTTTT!? But how can this be?!" Kaos questioned. "You are NOTHING! A spec! A worm! An interloper! And you're about to become an EX-INTERLOPER! Because - there's no way you can stand up to ALL THREE MINIONS at once! ATTACK!" He then summoned the three clones back to the battlefield.
"Woo boy…" Gill Grunt trailed off. Ghost Roaster, Chop Chop and Hex were already pretty strong on their own, so all of them together would be tough.
"You guys can do it!" Sky called out. Several Skylanders all steeled themselves. With Sky and Eon watching over them, there was no way they could fail. Thus, working together, they managed to take the clones down, even with the lasers returning in the later parts of the fight.
"IMPOSSIBLE!" Kaos roared. "Take the Eternal Undead Source! But I promise you - SOON! You WILL regret this!" He then vanished.
"Well done, Skylanders!" Eon congratulated the group as he and Sky pulled out their staves. Soon, they had another element secured.
While no one was pleased with how dark the sky had become, they all still found themselves hopeful once they saw another Eternal Source enter the core. No one was exactly sure what the Eternal Undead Source did, but the spirits it released weren't hurting them, so everyone assumed it was good.
And that's yet another element down! Next time…I need to refresh myself on what comes next but it has something to do with the Fire element so…
