Kol awakens to find himself in yet another unfamiliar territory that threatens all he holds dear.
Bonnie and Toni realized they've been duped.
Hi guys! I didn't mean to be gone so long without an official update but some time away is good for the soul :)
This is the last part of the crossover from multiple fics, the other writers weren't able to contribute, we could not find the time 💔 but I do have permission to reference their fics, which I will reveal in the notes at the end of this chapter, but let me know if they sound familiar!
This chapter basically goes over what Kol experienced while he was away and how it affects him and his relationship with Bonnie here in Nine (that's what this world is called, I will explain the numbers at the end of this chapter)

Summer's POV
Mystic Falls 2013
"What's taking so long?" Summer asked, growing agitated that Kol was still in Ten. The vampires would be back soon and the trio would need to wipe their essence before they returned or they'd likely have a feeding frenzy on the humans of Mystic Falls. That would inadvertently be blood on the hands of the fae and as the ruling party of The Summit, Summer knew it was not a scandal they could afford. She didn't understand why Autumn and Dawn didn't just take this to Diana instead of all these clandestine drop ins on Toni. Diana could simply issue the ultimatum that each of the witches would have no choice but to collectively band together to deal with the siphon unless they wished for the ire of The Summit breathing down their backs. Maybe even extract the power of the Gemini, no coven should be able to harness that much power, she personally felt. Not humans at least. The witches were still human at heart.
It annoyed Summer that here they were entrusted to keep Toni out of witch and vampire business, in hopes that this ordeal caused by the siphon's infatuation would not reach The Summit. As if his massacres going national could prevent that now.
They should have recruited Toni, not let her slip into the hands of an Original Vampire who had so far, only succeeded in implicating her with her sisters. The very same vampire who sired demons that drained a number of the ancient faeries.
It was all in the past and it wasn't as if Summer harbored resentment towards the actions of his younger self. It did appear falling in love with the witch had softened his heart and tempered the Original's maniacal impulses. Bonnie soothed the darkness in him. But, as rules went, if Diana did see it fit to get involved, the vampires would be no more and there'd be one pissed off human witch with too much valuable information about The Summit. At least she'd no longer have a siphon problem.
A mental sigh rippled through Summer's chest. Witches. Living so closely amongst humans was dangerous for any supernatural being. She much preferred her secret society of faeries, mingling with the humans when needed for the occasional tension relief. The stress of the current predicament would warrant another visit with her most favored swain Jonathan's rock hard body. He was gorgeous and she enchanted him so every time was like the first time. He put in his due diligence in pleasing her. Seriously, what was taking so long? Summer wanted a sunbath on her second floor balcony while she sat astride Jonathan as he made her body sing with pleasure. Yet here she was, accosting the body of the psychotic one who also happened to be skilled in magic. When he woke and realized what had taken place, the magic of his emotions would no doubt make this tomb crumble if the fae weren't present.
Autumn waved her hand over the glowing sphere that was Ten before shaking her head, watching Kol and reading his thoughts. "I'll be right back," she sang before she thrust her hand to the side to ripple through multiple universes with her other hand. She selected Eleven before she beamed into a bright red light and disappeared.
Summer looked down at the body. She imagined he was just the right amount of rough when the desire overcame him and he began initiating things with a tight grip of his partner's shoulders.
She crouched down and reached her hand over to softly caress his face. Only when she did, the contact singed her palm. She hissed and snatched her hand back.
"Do not touch the body of the volatile one. The last thing we need is your fulsome essence all over him," Dawn reprimanded with a stern raise of her brow. Then she gestured for her to stand. "Quickly, she's taking him to Eleven now,"
"Autumn is strangely invested. Why?" Summer suddenly asked as she helped channel transporting Autumn and Kol to Elevan 2021's Los Angeles.
"What do you mean?" Dawn asked.
Summer pouted and shifted uncomfortably until she felt the enchantment being released. They'd landed in California. "I just find it odd is all,"
Dawn raked her fingers through her hair. Training for a promotion had made her too edgy and catty lately. "What exactly are you implying here, Summer?"
"Well, take Nine for example. She has been there the whole time,"
"We all have, that is our world!" Just then, the body of the unhinged stirred. Dawn mumbled a low enchantment and he stilled. She sighed, in an attempt to reclaim her patience. "She only wants to help, Sister. Trust that this is all for Toni. She has lost Cheryl just as Autumn lost-"
Summer open-mouth gasped.
"He-who-we-shall-not-mention," Dawn assured.
Relieved, Summer clamped her mouth closed. "Well then. Let's review, shall we?"
"If I am remembering correctly, this all began before Kol transitioned," Dawn said as she scanned through Nine, rewinding back to a thousand years ago.
"No, more recently. The day Autumn issued the prophecy. That is when he started falling for her," Summer corrected. A beam of red light flashed in the mausoleum and Autumn reappeared, capturing Summer's scornful look. "The other vampire. Thanks to your … meddling!"
"I had to Summer, or he would have caused her person more injury than just a shoulder slash, I'd read his thoughts!" Autumn explained. "I only muted his bloodlust when he stabbed her. I think viewing her topless did the rest," Summer frowned at her in disbelief. "Honestly, I just planted the seed by making him view her as someone worth protecting, that was my only intervention. He fell in love with her on his own, you know I will never tamper with anyone's love life. I know how awful it is,"
"Except the witch and the ancient vampire?" Summer queried.
"That was the mother,"
"Wait, wait, wait. We are getting carried away, we must remain focused," Dawn remarked with an exasperated sigh. "Autumn, what was the point in Kol visiting Ten again?"
"The emotional turmoil that Bonnie is experiencing with the loss of Damon. It correlates directly with her relationship with him in Nine, being very emotionally intense, as much as she attempts to ignore it. Kol needs to see how much happier she'd be without all the complications,"
"In addition to how reckless his careless actions were that led her to Malachai," Summer added. "Only in Ten, there's no Damon to save her from it,"
"That goes without saying. Even in Nine, Kol attempted to remain with Bonnie through the curse that would undo each of them. Why, if not for my swaying, they'd both be dead and Toni would have no reason to believe anything about her fae heritage, the remaining Originals would never think to recruit a fledgling, let alone request our assistance. And we all know there is not a scenario in existence which Toni would readily believe Cheryl," she sighed. "It was Damon's love for Bonnie that saved her and Kol. As was the case in Ten,"

Graduation Day
Damon's POV
Damon smiled as Bonnie walked across the stage to retrieve her diploma from her father who beamed at her proudly and kissed her cheek before he handed her a diploma. "I'm glad you're feeling yourself now. And I'm so proud of you, sweetheart," he said, staring in adoration.
She returned his smile. "Thank you, Dad. I'm just ready for my vacation,"
"Any chance I could convince you to go with humans instead of vampires?"
"Dad!" She called as she left the stage. Damon watched as she went back to her seat and pulled out a folded piece of paper from her robe pocket. She grinned and shook her head. "The ceremony isn't even over, Damon,"
After each student collected their diplomas, he stepped up to Bonnie before Elena and Blondie could intercept her. "Can we get out of here now?"
"All in good time," she replied with a coy smile.
He was looking forward to a summer abroad, away from the states and any possibility of her crossing paths with Kol. Kol wouldn't see Bonnie of course, but if she saw the Original, it might reset her grief back to a ten. He was currently turning randomly selected girls of the senior classes of New Orleans and compelling them to bite their boyfriends. Damon was the only one in Mystic Falls entrusted with the knowledge of Kol's latest antics in mending his broken heart since he was the only one who cared to keep it from Bonnie. Besides, Witchy deserved to enjoy her summer. She'd get a history lesson in Venice.
Out of his peripheral vision, he noticed a parent who lingered after her student departed and subsequently appeared to film Bonnie.
"Is that a sorority girl?" He donned the smirk that he knew harbored the propensity to make Bonnie smile under certain circumstances, or roll her eyes in disgust in other times, like the present moment.
"You're disgusting as always," she remarked as she turned to Elena and Caroline.
He caught Elena's glare as he strutted past her. "You know, the resemblance to Katherine is even stronger when you make that face,"
She rolled her eyes and led her friends away. Damon shrugged and continued in the direction of the sorority girl. As soon as the girls turned their attention away from him, he zipped to the parent with the camera.
"Why are you here?" His eyes darkened with compulsion.
The woman blinked in confusion. "I don't know. My daughter is graduating today. I have to film her,"
His brows shot up into his hairline. "And you think Bonnie is your daughter?"
"My daughter is graduating today. I have to film her," the woman insisted.
Damon rolled his eyes before he sucked her into his compulsion. "Give me your phone. And get the hell out of here,"
The woman attempted to move, only her feet wouldn't budge. Her breath halted and she gasped, trying to suck in any amount of oxygen. Turning on his heel as the woman collapsed, he pulled out his cell as he walked away. A text message was sent to Marcel's mobile number, informing him that another one of Kol's little spies had internally combusted with the clashing power of their compulsion.
Damon- I'm doing my job out here, get your fucking witches or whoever to do theirs!
Marcel replied right away.
Marcel- Davina and Vincent are erecting the compulsion barrier today. Any compulsion from Kol will wear off by the time his messengers get past the town border.
How is she?
Damon- Leaving town tonight. Make sure Sabrina and Dumbledore are gone by then. Bonnie sees them and she'll know something's up.
Marcel sent another message that contained something about dealing with hybrid shit, but Damon's attention span had already moved on.
The familiar clutch of Stefan's hand on his shoulder. "Hello brother. The hell was that all about?"
"Damage control. The hell is you graduating all about?"
He smiled wide. "Don't I make you proud?
"The vacation you're about to have, you realize could have been yours all along, you know that?"
"I had to know her. But since that went to hell, you're right. We could have both been gone by now. So tell me, Damon, why are we still here?"
"Obviously, I'm about to keep a very lonely witch company for the summer. Keep up, Stefan,"
"She's not for you. And he'll kill you. You know that. It has to be Elena,"
The two brothers turned and observed the trio of life long friends. All queens in their own right, and they were still coming to terms with it, now that the world was practically at their feet. Queen of compassion, queen of panache, and the queen of integrity. Together they had the power to do anything they set their mind to, but being so young, naive and led by their emotions, that would require the guidance of a seasoned immortal. Especially Bonnie, considering the things her magic was capable of.
"You didn't see her, Stefan. Either of them. And you've noticed Lockwood is missing. Blondie's next on the spiral list and some time away for a spell would do them all some good. I'm just here to help. If Bonnie and Elena happen to fall for me in the process or end up having a wild night with me, so be it," he said with a shrug.
He knew no amount of time away from Kol would lessen Bonnie's feelings for him, but it was more of a reality she'd spend the rest of her natural life never seeing him again. If anyone knew the pain that fact settled deep in her core, it was Damon. Prior to their trip to New Orleans, he didn't understand her determination to be the sanctimonious teen witch she was, especially with an Original for a boyfriend, but now it was clear. The love she lived for would remain just out of reach and Damon felt a duty to ensure she didn't crack under the weight of how heavy that made her heart. That sort of thing could make her kill someone innocent on impulse, like a poor little Gilbert.
Out of sight, out of mind was going to be their new fucking motto.
Summer's POV
Summer raised her hands and aided in the enchantment needed to pull Kol into the next world, Five. The Kol from five was raging with impulse when he came across Autumn and nearly attacked her. Summer and Dawn froze them to pull Autumn out for a brief reprimanding before they would send her back safely.
"Are you completely out of your mind?!" Dawn demanded. "It is bad enough you went to Eleven but five? What if you had stumbled on the hybrid?"
"He needs to see!" Autumn cried, crossing her arms defiantly. "He can choose her all he wants but in a world where she is meant for someone else, she will always choose her true mate. Kol would meet his final demise if he were to stand against the hybrid. But in Nine, Bonnie will be kept in the dark no longer once it is revealed," she looked down at the unconscious body on the ground. "Five and Six will show Kol that,"
"Six will only exacerbate his desire for her. And Four. To see a love that would stand the rest rod time, through the ages. What about Two, where he would treat her just like any other witch that has fallen out of his favor and outlived her usefulness," Dawn had a way of being diplomatic, so much so that Summer always aimed to emulate her. She was a nurturer at heart.
"But this is not just any witch to him. He believes her to be his reason, his light, his way," Summer insisted.
Suddenly, her crimson sister's eyes glazed over in a milky tint. "Cease the path you must, or there will be no salvation from the dust," Another vision! Her eyes returned to normal. "We will show him a new way," Autumn said resolutely, glowing angrily. "Five certainly will. At least this part,"
"Autumn, your latest vision-"
"We must continue!"
Since Autumn failed to listen to reason, they each watched as Kol witnessed himself in another universe succumb to utter heartbreak, making the characteristic decision to unleash hell on those who dared to wrong him, no matter who was in his path. Kol and Autumn deciding at the same time, that he had seen enough, were finally in agreement about something.
Universe Five
Mystic Falls 2010
Kol's POV
Kol grabbed the gems and set his intentions; he wished to be in his home world he knew and highly coveted. The time away from Bonnie and seeing all these scenarios with their doomed fate was grating on his patience and tapped into insecurities that ran too deep. He was no longer reckless as he was when he'd met her and he could never be a danger to Bonnie. Kol would rather die than bring harm unto his love. And the thought of his mate being meant for someone else despite how much she loved him- he couldn't take anymore of this, it was time to go back to her.
"What the hell are you doing?" DoppelKol asked as he realized what his copy was onto. "You're supposed to-"
"I'm not waiting any longer! I need to get back to my girl. And so do you," he held the gems over his head, instead of tossing them. " Ouvert!"
His double slowly faded into thin air as whirling winds surrounded them, for what Kol hoped was the last time.
When they finally calmed, Kol found he was lying on his back on the ground in the Salvatore crypt surrounded by three faeries, nonetheless. Distinguishable by their boldly colored cutout dresses -the familiar one in red, the others in green and lavender- and their collective scent which was so alluring and yet for some odd reason it did not incite his bloodlust.
Mystic Falls 2013
"Ruler of this universe?!" He snapped as he sat up. "Who the hell are you really? Sent to plague my life?"
"We're here to help you, on the condition Toni safely gets to California," a fae clad in a soft lavender cut out dress stated. Her delivery was that of an authority figure, though the only fae he knew of who could outrank him was a fae who often wore white. "You must understand she will not be returning to Mystic Falls with you,"
"Are you here on Diana's orders?"
"Yes," Autumn stated. All traces of amusement were now gone from her usually chipper demeanor. "You will deliver Toni safely but not sit before the tribunal with your trivial witch issues. You've witnessed the collective turmoil that any and all associations with you brings the Bennett witch, you have yet to see how well she fares in your absence. You've noticed this, haven't you? Since your reunion,"
"She's gotten stronger," the fae in emerald green supplied.
"Her magic is unmatched," Lavender added.
"Let her go, Kol. The solution you seek is in front of you. It has always been so. The gift of foresight has long been bestowed upon me and the horror which awaits you both will be immeasurable, should you choose to continue your relationship,"
Kol rose to his feet. A slow smirk spread across his cheeks. "Let me see if I've got this correct. This whole time, all these scenarios you've shown me, was solely an attempt in persuading me to walk away from my Bonnie? The only girl who will ever have my heart? That might be the stupidest bloody thing I've heard in over a thousand years," he laughed at the absurdity.
"Consider yourself warned, Kol Mikaelson. It is apparent you wouldn't sway your stance even if you were the one to usher in her death," the crimson fae conjured an orb that showed images of the Cursed Kol aggressively capturing Bonnie. "Just like him," she said, almost breathlessly.
He growled. "I've seen enough! I won't let any harm come to my beloved and you won't keep me from her. No one will,"
The fae dressed in lavender placed a gentle hand on Autumn's arm. "Autumn. We have warned him. Altering his will is not in our jurisdiction or power," she looked at Kol again. "All we can do is implore you to reconsider. To preserve her life, we beg of you. You know as well as I do we cannot intervene as is and if your small town issue grows so large it reaches the Summit… will be forced to eradicate it from a high level of authority,"
"You don't want Toni involved, that's clear. Why wouldn't you just take her then?"
Green faerie spread her hands out gently. "Due diligence. She has much to learn before she can leave all of this behind. Once she realizes she cannot aid you when you arrive in California-"
Kol's smirk was back. "You don't even want me in your territory but you understand she won't go without me. And I won't go without Bonnie. We don't trust you and your lack of concern for the lives that are being destroyed,"
"It is forbidden. It is not lack of concern but detachment you speak of. We must remain detached if we are to let the witches govern themselves. My sister has already foreseen what will become of you both if this continues,"
For having such great power, the fae were the most reticent to get their hands dirty, or that may have been when it came to other supernatural species.
"Come along if you must, Kol, bring Bonnie as well. And know that either way she will come to see to our terms and any request you bring before the tribunal holds a great chance of being denied since this matter could have long been resolved by now," the one in green now donned a coy smile. "Of course, if you come as you are now," she giggled then. "Well, that brings us to the reason we've come to your aid. Check the camera on your mobile device. Go ahead,"
Confusion marred his face before he pulled out a device from his pocket that was unfamiliar. He frowned even harder at that, until he tapped on the camera and tapped the front facing setting.
"There's that undiluted rage we've witnessed in the other realms," he heard Autumn whisper.
No doubt pure and undiluted rage swelled in his chest when he realized he was not looking at himself in the camera, but the face of Kai Parker. The fury pulsed magic through his veins.
It's early morning, the sun comes out
Last night was shaking and pretty loud
My cat is purring, it scratches my skin
So what is wrong with another sin?

Kai's POV
In a sage cloaked study at the Salvatore boarding house, Kai stood marveling at the magic tattoo that was now inked into Kol's knuckles. He almost considered the fact that this may be a new low for him (hell anything aiding his obsession with Bonnie was a new low) but he immediately abandoned that idea, reasoning that this was his most foolproof plan to date. He was in Kol's body now and he just needed to stay in character until he transferred his life to Kol's, the same way he did to his own mother. She had to be a shitty one, if Kol hated her that much. Either way, soon Kai and Bonnie would be long gone by then, off on their official honeymoon, most importantly away from her life in Mystic Falls and all her friends that kept getting in the way. That lot had thwarted his plans to conquer Bonnie too many times. Just two more days…
He heard voices in the hall. Bonnie and Toni were rambling on about Kol's annoying yet clearly accurate worries.
"Last night was insane,"
"Seriously! I couldn't keep anything from him anyway, he compelled my loyalty. Obviously, the compulsion lifted somehow but what if he does it again? You know he tried to compel Damon to stay away from me?" He heard Toni say.
Bonnie sighed. "One thing I've learned is that there's a method to his madness. You are literally the only other person he cares about, let alone trusts. Which he will rarely if ever admit out loud. But I know him and you've affected him, so you know there's a reason he hadn't lifted the compulsion yet."
"Come on, you of all people know what it's like to feel captivated, Bonnie. I don't wanna spend any more time with all my decisions tethered to his approval! And I know damn well not to go after his girl, it wouldn't be fair to pull you out from under him when you two just got back together,"
Bonnie laughed out loud. "Especially not with how he is with Damon. Which, hello, I can distract him. You also know I've already got your back no matter what and that's compelled or not. A legion of serpents do too, I made sure of that." She sighed. "I can't lie, Bonnie, he's grown on me. And it's not just you or the compulsion. I know he's not just after my power anymore, he wants me to be powerful enough to take care of myself. But how will I ever get that chance if he's acting like this overbearing, vampire father?"
"Well when you put it that way," Bonnie chuckled. "I'll see what I can do in the art of persuasion." Kai guessed Bonnie was giving Toni a coy little wink. She was so fucking cute. He heard them stop outside the study door.
"But Toni. You really wanna be Damon's distraction?"
"It works out perfect, we're both broken from people we'll never truly get over… call it boredom! Something to do especially after hanging around with your gorgeous self,"
They both laughed and Kai heard a light slap of flesh. He wondered if Toni had slapped Bonnie's ass, as a sign of camaraderie.
"So I guess I don't need to give you any warnings then," she paused a beat. "He wants to see you, he just wants to make sure you're okay. I'll give you guys a few minutes and get Damon out of here." She was whispering now. What's the point, I can still hear you. Vampire senses, hello! Kai thought.
"I'm fine but I might have to kick his ass after the shit he pulled. Kai always has a surprise attack and I could have defended myself with my magic, fried him on the spot,"
"I swear. He's gonna hear it from me later, but he wanted to speak to you first. Please leave him intact for my pending punishment," the smile was evident in her voice.
"No promises, gorgeous!" Toni called out as Bonnie's footsteps faded.
The door clicked then slowly slid open as Toni entered the study.
"Kol!" Toni sighed loudly as she rushed over to Kai in Kol's body and threw her arms around him. "Don't you ever do that to me again, Kol, I swear,"
She pulled back and hit his arm but he didn't even flinch. He just stared at her, silently.
"Seriously, what's the point of recruiting me to help save your epic love if you won't even let me help, you just martyr yourself to the bad guy that way. I meant what I said, Kol. I'm in this, no matter what. Compelled or not."
"I understand," Kai said in Kol's voice, looking at Toni as if he was seeing her for the first time. Interesting. So the Original had really compelled Toni to be bound to him to do his bidding or something?
Toni fumed at his audacity.
"Oh, now you understand? You nearly gave Bonnie a fucking heart attack when you got siphoned. And I couldn't do shit because my magic would only work in defense mode! He could've drained her with the power she had to use to get us out of there. I care about Bonnie too, I don't wanna see her hurt. Don't compel me again, I can help protect all of us,"
She sounded incredibly hurt. Kai's eyes were dark, in not an angry but a menacing way.
"I know I was there."
Toni sighed. "Okay, enough with the evil eye, geez. I'm just glad you're okay,"
She sniffed and hit his arm again, this time with a playful shove.
"So you wanted to see me?"
"I did."
"What's up?"
"Toni, Toni, Toni," his voice drawled. "So you and Damon, huh?"
"It's nothing." A slight rouge appeared on her cheeks as she replied yet still keeping her composure.
"So you're saying you like him and you want him to scratch that insatiable itch?" Kai questioned, his intrigue about who's in her pants intensifying.
Toni let out an uncomfortable laugh. "Kol, that's really none of your business. You're not my daddy and you can't control my personal life. Speaking of which, why the hell would you try to compel Damon to stay away from me? What, I'm not allowed to have a life now?"
She grew angrier as she spoke and more visibly uncomfortable as Kai's stare intensified. He grabbed her hands suddenly and twisted her around, pulling her back up against his chest. "Kol, what the fuck are you-"
Kai laughed softly in her ear. "I'm sorry, did you just say I'm not your daddy? Don't you remember when I was pulling your hair, Toni?"
He was licking down her earlobes, waiting for it to click on her expression. She seemed confused as if she had no recollection of intimacy with Kol. He guessed Kol didn't get up to that with Toni.
"I was pulling your hair, like this," he demonstrated by grabbing a fist full of her rose gold locks. "and in your red high heels your exact words were.." He whispered in her ear and felt her face fall at those words.
"Kai," she whispered softly and he grinned at her.
"Well, no but that's close enough… Did you miss me?"
Her knees suddenly gave out. He was happy to still have that effect on her. He steadied her and faced her to him. She reacted so fast he didn't have time to block her slap that stung his (well, Kol's face). That slap emitted a ray of light for as long as it lasted.
"Ouch. Toni, baby don't be like that." He bore into her eyes with his own, exercising compulsion. "Don't move. Tell me Toni, are you still flexible?"
"You fucking bastard! What did you do with Kol?!"
"You wanna see Kol? I can take you to him," Kai offered, giving her the devil's smile.
"You're gonna take over his body," Toni whispered.
Kai grew annoyed. "Alright, you're just throwing out crazy accusations now. Why don't we say goodnight, and let's talk tomorrow? You can wear your red heels for me again."
"Never again!" Toni hissed.
"You should forget about Damon. You have no romantic interest in him. In fact, he disgusts you more than me," Kai laughed as Toni blinked, and nodded, dazed by his compulsion.
"I hate you both,"
"If he comes near again, you'll recoil and blast him with that little light trick you do. What is that by the way?"
She didn't answer. "What is it?! What are you?"
She blinked and still no answer.
After he compelled her to forget he was actually Kai, he released her from his influence, instructing her to fight him with her power. He rushed to her at original speed and she blasted him against the door. In an instant he was up and healed, throwing her with vamp speed against the wall. He rushed over biting into his wrist and made sure to let blood trickle over the side of her mouth.
"Toni!" Kai (as Kol) screamed as the door to the study flew open and Stefan entered looking alarmed. It took him two seconds to notice Toni on the floor.
"I saw a light flash under the door, what happened?"
"Don't know mate, she just collapsed." Kai lied easily as Kol. "I tried to give her blood but she's not responding. Stay with her, I'll get Bonnie."
Without another word, he sped away. He needed to think and he needed to get to Bonnie before Toni regained consciousness. Having vampire senses, he found he could track Bonnie's scent to the Mystic Grille. Naturally, he found the witch with Damien and Helena.
Bonnie flashed him a smile. "Oh good, she did leave you intact. Can we go now?"
"Say less," Kai murmured as he embraced her in Original arms and pulled her in for a kiss. This never got old to him, every time he had a chance to be with Bonnie and she actually reciprocated his affections. Granted, she was under the impression he was someone else to her but he would rectify that in due time. It was always an adventure to see how far he could get with her each time before she realized she was dealing with Kai. He kissed her deeply, while her companions became visibly uncomfortable, and Kai had to force himself to pull back and glance at Damon. Although he'd rather stare at the delectable woman in front of him all night he gave the vampire a curt nod.
"I'm guessing it went well then," Bonnie giggled like a shy schoolgirl. She was fucking adorable when she acted shy, yet Kai couldn't afford her distracting him at that moment. He addressed Damon.
"Toni is expecting you. She's not coming to the burning, she'd rather cozy up with you,"
Damon narrowed his eyes. "And Papa Original is ok with that?"
"Damon," Bonnie warned, while Elena rolled her eyes in a 'what'd you expect, it's Damon' sort of way. Elena started texting away on her phone or scrolling through social media or whatever it was people did on their mobile phones these days.
"She can do what she wants." Kai shrugged. "And right now she wants you. So I'd hurry unless you want me to compel her to steer clear of you."
"You know, I'm getting real sick of-"
"Okay, Damon! It sounds like Toni needs company right now. She might be leaving soon so if there's anything you want to say to her, I think now would be the time." Bonnie interrupted before the situation could further escalate.
"I think I'll give her a really nice parting gift. Don't wait up for her tonight," he smirked at "Kol" who ignored him. "See ya, Bon Bon."
"Pig," Elena murmured as he shoved past her chair, pushing her with his hips. "Bonnie, I'll be right back, I need to call Care. Don't leave without me?"
"Okay but hurry please," Bonnie answered as she settled into Kai's lap. He wrapped his arms around her hips and gripped with Original strength, kissing her deeply, shoving his tongue way down her throat. She gasped and softly moaned into his mouth. When Bonnie came up for air she let out a hearty giggle.
"That was different. I'm guessing you missed me?
"You have no idea," he said as he pressed his face into her neck, absorbing her scent. He could smell the arousal that was moistening between her legs. With vampire senses, her scent was ten thousand times stronger, and he had to take care to not ravage her.
"I know but don't think that'll get you off the hook." she searched his face. God, she is fucking gorgeous, looking at me like she loves me. How could this not be fate? He was getting a stiffy. "What were you thinking, compelling Toni like that? She could have helped if she was made to defend herself and us. Don't you know I'd lose my fucking mind without you, Kol?"
At the sound of a name that was not his, his developing boner died a swift but tragic death. Irritation swirled and Kai had to remember he needed to remain focused. There wasn't much time to waste.
"Let me make it up to you," he gently lifted her off him and stood up. "Come,"
"Oh, we have to wait for Elena!"
"She's a little busy with her boyfriend at the moment," the imposter tapped ears that didn't belong to him. "Vampire hearing."
Bonnie made a disgusted face, that was still more beautiful than Aurealis borealis. "Plus, I have a surprise for you,"
Bonnie flashed him a satisfied smile and let him lead her out.
Elena's POV
Damon was waiting by Elena's car, having received Elena's SOS text to meet her outside. She vamp sped to him.
"This better be good, Gilbert."
Elena slipped inside her car and started the engine, gesturing the need to be quiet.
"Somethings not right with Kol, Damon." She said hurriedly.
"Well yeah, he's a spoiled Original who also happens to be severely unhinged. That hardly warrants an emergency." Damon shrugged.
"I saw him grab Bonnie's phone out of her pocket and crush it with his hands. And I was just talking to Bonnie about how Kol wouldn't willingly let you anywhere near Toni. Suddenly he's ok with it? When have you ever known Kol to just suddenly change his mind?" Elena was determined to get him to view her point but to Damon it seemed like jealousy.
"Elena, I know you've hated me for years, but don't ever stand in the way of me and my current lady friend. Understand?"
She scoffed. This was literally why she couldn't stand talking to him, he never failed to see anything other than his own perspective which had landed almost everyone she knew and loved in hot water with whatever big bad they were dealing with at the moment.
"Damon, listen to me!" She grabbed his shoulders. "When have I ever asked you for anything? When Stefan shut off his emotions, I didn't come to you. On our mission to get the cure, I didn't come to you either. When Ric died, I left you alone. I just had thee worst experience of my fucking life and it's not even about me right now," she sighed. "I'm serious, Bonnie's in trouble! And I'm guessing Toni is too. Bonnie is my best friend, Damon. It's my job to notice these things."
Damon grimaced as if he was inclined to agree, begrudgingly so Elena continued. "What if Kai did something to where he's inhabiting Kol's body like the passengers? Katherine did it to me, I wouldn't put it past Kai, especially not after he erased you from Bonnie's memory."
Just then, both their phones rang.
"Coincidence? I think not." Elena answered her home first. "Caroline? What's going on?"
"Damon," Stefan said into Damon's ear before he could even greet him. "Where's Bonnie? Something happened with Toni, I saw her light flash and she was out cold in the study with Kol. He said he was going to get Bonnie but she's not answering her phone. And I can't call Kol because he left his phone here," After a pause he said, "Damon, he said he gave her blood and it didn't work, but he didn't. I just gave her my blood and she's conscious now." He finished.
"Apparently that's not Kol. I'm on the way." He stared hard at Elena. "You might be on to something, Gilbert. See if you can pry Bonnie away from her boyfriend. And hey, be discreet. I'm heading to the boarding house to get Toni."
Elena nodded and they both sped off.
Toni's POV
Toni's eyes were still closed but tasted something cold and coppery on her tongue and at first she nearly gagged but then the flavor seemed to change to something more delectable and she sucked it down hungrily. Suddenly it was removed and her eyes snapped open. She realized someone was holding her head up.
"Toni, hey how are you feeling?" She looked up to see Stefan kneeling before her.
"I'm..I don't know, what happened?"
Stefan gently pulled Toni to her feet. "What do you remember?"
"I was talking to Kol and then... I don't know, I'm waking up to your blood in my mouth."
"I saw your light flash under the door but the room is still spelled so I didn't hear your conversation. Kol said you just collapsed and he tried to give you blood."
Toni frowned.
"Then why would I need your blood too? No offense Stefan, but the fae in me can only handle so much vampire blood before I-"
"Kol didn't give you his blood, Toni. He said he did but he left before I could ask him anything else, he said he needed to get Bonnie. But that was almost an hour ago."
She frowned even harder.
"This doesn't make any sense. Kol promised to protect me and keep me safe and he just weasels out like that?"
Damon vamp sped into the room stopping at Toni's side. Immediately she recoiled as when she first met him. "Don't you come any closer!" she glowered at him.
"Toni, it's me. What's going on, what happened?"
"What the hell are you talking about?"
"What the hell are you talking about? And why are you treating me like a leper, you spent last night with me," Damon reached for Toni who blasted him.
What the fuck was he talking about? That was uncharacteristic of Toni, Damon was reprehensible! And too close for comfort.
"Stefan, if your filthy brother doesn't stay away from me, I swear I won't stop," she warned.
"Toni, you've been compelled," Stefan concluded. "You were with Damon last night."
"Bullshit! I would never !" Toni held her hand out, ready to blast him again. "Why would Kol compel me?"
"Why would Kol be so eager to send me to you when he originally compelled me to stay away from you?"
This wasn't adding up, Kol would never push Damon on Toni, he was way too protective of her. She racked her mind for answers, still holding up a warning hand to Damon as the brothers discussed it amongst themselves.
"Kol said he'd be back with Bonnie. And he told you that Toni was asking for you?"
Damon nodded. "Elena noticed Kol wasn't being himself and she said he slipped Bonnie's phone out of her pocket. And crushed it,"
"Obviously we need to find Bonnie!" Toni rushed out of the room. Damon and Stefan zipped out after her.
Kai's POV
"Get in here," Bonnie said, holding the door open. Kai smirked and stepped across the threshold.
"What was the surprise?" She asked as he stepped forward.
He pulled out a silver gilded stake out of his jacket's breast pocket. Bonnie gaped, with her mouth wide open. "That last white oak stake?!"
"The last white oak stake," Kai parroted as he set it down on a coffee table.
"No one can ever wield any weapon against you or your siblings again," Bonnie said with a relieved sigh. "And we don't ever have to part again,"
Ahh yes, the rest of the Originals. Once Kol was good and dead, Elias, Kris, and Regina were next. Good thing this stake was indestructible. Thank you, Davina Claire!
"No," he said, pulling her into a kiss. She was receptive, kissing him back with much aggression and passion, sparking his arousal. It may have been the vampire body because the sensation was incredibly heightened and he had to have her, immediately. When he kissed her weeks ago, it was nothing like being kissed with true desire. This is what he wanted all along, to let the lust and passion flow freely between them.
He could sense her own arousal, the scent of it was intoxicating, and the vampire face of Kol flickered through for a moment. He stopped himself, he needed to remain in control, he was no vampire!
Bonnie issued a low growl. "You're an animal tonight," she said as she pulled him towards the couch.
"You have no idea," Kai said as he pushed her on her back. With a growl, he leaned down and kissed her in a passion-fueled lip lock.
Kol's POV
Damon entered the crypt first, stepping over the unconscious bodies of the blonde twit, the doppelganger, and the quarterback. He locked eyes with Kol and widened his annoyingly blue orbs. Kol hadn't necessarily wanted to hurt the impossibly resilient human but saw no other choice since the boy wouldn't listen to reason and compelling him wasn't an option. It felt good to use his fists, as well as wield magic unto the vampires.
"Kai," the vampire said carefully as Toni walked in behind him.
"If that were true, I suppose I'd have no qualms executing these ones, right now," he gestured to Matt and the female vampires. "Or you. All the power of the Gemini is in me, if I were the unhinged one you seek, I'd have done far more damage by now with your muted vampire abilities once you stepped in here," he looked around. "Where's Bonnie?"
When Stefan entered and there was no sign of anyone else joining them, his worst fear was confirmed. If Bonnie wasn't with her friends, that meant she was off with the siphon, in his own Original vampire body, no less! Panic seized the feeble mortal organ in his chest as he recalled the many helpless emotions that had coursed through him as he witnessed one world too many where Kai Parker had unrestricted access to integrate himself into her life for nefarious reasons. A private investigator looking into the mysterious circumstances of her beloved's sudden and untimely death when he was the very culprit they prowled for was dagger to Kol's heart all over again. As was seeing a version of himself attempting to brutalize her. In a world where fate decided she should be mated in soul to Nik of all people even if she first fell hopelessly in love with Kol only added insult to the injury the entire experience brought him.
A thousand years had nothing on Kol's ability to harness the power bestowed upon him, as he'd shown Hayley and Freya. In an attempt to take him by surprise on the chance Kai was still in his own body, Damon rushed forward, only to find that, as promised, his vampire speed was out of commission. Kol threw an immobilization spell as Toni looked between them in a panic.
"Obviously I'm Kol,"
"How do we know that's true?" She asked, uneasily. "What if Kai did something else with Kol? You have the power of an entire coven. How can we trust what you're saying is true?"
"Tell me something Kai wouldn't know," Damon insisted through a glare.
Kol gave a derisive chuckle. "Well, I'll tell you something Bonnie doesn't know. Up until her graduation date you killed all of the spectators I sent for updates on my beloved,"
Toni frowned and turned her own glare on Damon. "You vampires just kill when the mood strikes, don't you?"
"I don't know what you did but I sure didn't kill anyone. I just compelled them to fuck off. For some reason, my compulsion fought with yours so bad it took out the host. The funny thing is, that's never happened before," his glare assessed Kol before he added with a haughty nod. "Its him,"
"So now that we've established that, we need to make haste to Sheila Bennett's home. That's where he'll have kidnapped my beloved to. As to why you imbecilic lot let them get away, I suppose I'll deal with later,"
"Kol, he didn't kidnap her," Toni shook her head slowly. "She thought he was you,"
What other bloody awful news was the day going to bring? Kol wondered as the most unsettling thought yet formed in his mind. His beloved Bonnie, she knew him, his scent, his aura, his high class savoir-faire. How could she mistake another for him? There had to have been some magic in place other than a glamouring spell, Bonnie would never!
"We've all made the mistake of underestimating Kai, but we need to make this right. I need you to c-" Toni didn't waver at his glare, instead altered her choice of words rather than suggest calming down. "Trust me, we'll get her, but we need to do this carefully so Bonnie doesn't attack you. It'll only hurt her,"
The little sprite was right. If he waltzed in blasting what Bonnie believed was her Original, she'd turn the coven's power on him, regardless of the consequences, as long as she believed he was hurting someone she loved. Magic attacks on the coven leader is what overwhelmed her upon Kol's return.
She turned to Stefan. "Can you make sure they're okay and then meet us at the spot?"

Bonnie and Kai's POV
With his body pressed against hers, Kai's fingers traveled down the length of Bonnie's arm in a tender graze against her flesh that chilled at his touch. It was like an electric exchange, the energy flowing from his skin to hers. He knew she felt it by the way she sucked in her breath. When he reached her hands, his fingers slipped through hers and clamped down, pressing into her palms. Bonnie looked to their interlocked fingers, then fixed her gaze on him, in a slight open-mouthed stare. She seemed to be feeling his energy, waiting in anticipation of what he would do next.
Bonnie was anticipating his next move. His touch was as eager as it was tender. The mission to take out the siphon was dangerous and Bonnie couldn't expect it would actually work, only it did! And she was here with Kol now, somehow the magical pulse between them was restored. That was all that mattered, it definitely tenderized the moment, making it that much more precious, since things could have gone terribly wrong. She sensed that was why his energy was more intense tonight. Kol was her only love and now they could finally be together, more than that, they could be happy . A witch and her vampire, bonded by something so powerful, electric even. There wasn't anyone that could stand between them again. Bonnie wanted everything he wanted, knowing that she would never leave his side again.
"Do you feel that?" he whispered.
Her free hand found its way to his cheek and he felt the pulse of their combined power vibrating through to him. She nodded slowly and her glance flitted to his lips.
"I love you. So much," Bonnie said with yearning eyes, indicating she meant it with all her heart. "Don't ever do that again, Kol. I refuse to be without you and you swore to me you'd never leave me,"
The slightest twinge of guilt flickered in his gut before it dissipated. He blamed Luke for that, still, he wasn't about to let that ruin his moment with Bonnie. It didn't matter if those words were meant for her stupid Original boyfriend, that dude was about to be toast! Kai loved her too and in that moment, he realized just how deeply his emotions for her dwelled. It was terrifying. Almost as much as spending an eternity in an isolated world was. It was as if he had something very precious, so rare, and delicate that he alone was responsible for protecting against the cruel realities of the cold world. What the fuck else could he do about that besides taking her back to a place where he could ensure nothing would harm his angel? Nothing but himself, of course.
"There isn't anything that could keep me away, Bon,"
Bon? That was strange, he'd never called her that. Though she did find it endearing. His breath abated as he leaned down and gently kissed her bottom lip, before he slowly locked both lips in his tender kiss. It was warm, loving, and it sent shivers down her spine. Something was different about her love and it was intriguing, as if there was another side of him that she hadn't previously seen and Bonnie wanted to dive into it headfirst.
He kissed her until they needed a breath, and then slithered down her body. Pushing her legs apart, he noticed the fabric on the crotch of her panties was dampened and then, for some reason the scent of arousal, her internal moisture came creeping into his nostrils and he could no longer fight it.
"Kol?"
His eyes emanated a vibrant silver glow as his fangs dropped and then veins began to swirl. He jerked his head back and twitched as if exercising restraint was excruciating. His voice came out doubled and warped like the low rumble of a lion's growl as he said, "Your blood, your life,"
Before Bonnie could react or even use her magic, his fangs pierced her femoral artery. It was the bloodlust combined with their collective arousal that prompted him to attack, Kai realized as the taste of her blood intoxicated him. His eyes rolled back as he drank the sweet elixir that was her life force. Bonnie's soft sighs could be heard as she shuddered, and to his surprise he could still feel her arousal, even as her heart rate slowed. Panic set in when he realized she'd die momentarily, only he couldn't stop feeding on her, the feeling that he needed to drink every last drop wouldn't let him break away.
Fuck! This wasn't the plan! He had issued apologies to Bonnie dozens of times for various reasons but it was only to calm her down. In that moment, he was truly despairing with remorse that they were over before they even began. At least she was being devoured by someone she loved , he thought to himself as he felt her begin to fade. He was hoping she had vampire blood in her system.
Bonnie's POV
Kol was acting strange in that he was aggressively feeding between her thighs and he was taking an excess amount of blood. Still, Bonnie trusted her love completely, even with the odd way he'd voiced his passion for her. It was quite unnerving as the erotic sensation of him feeding on her dissipated into discomfort. As she grew weaker, she began to suspect something was seriously wrong, thinking he should've healed her with his blood by now.
"Kol," she uttered in a near whisper. "Kol… stop," It became apparent that her soft commands fell on deaf ears as his chest rumbled a low growl. Suddenly, she heard what sounded like an explosion as the door to her grandmother's house burst open and given the peculiarity of the situation, she couldn't help but scream.
Two blurs flashed in that were the Salvatore brothers and then Toni walked in. Stefan looked concerned and Damon looked pissed as ever. Bonnie, disorientated but powered by embarrassment, drowsily scrambled to get up from underneath Kol but as soon as he let her up he pulled her into his lap and tightened his grip around her waist. It was almost too tight a grip.
"Bonnie babes, DON'T FREAK, but…" Toni said as soothingly as she could, trying to prepare her something. For what?
As if in slow motion, someone stepped around Toni, (Kol's grip tightened even further) and Kai Parker of all people came into view with an expression of murderous rage.
"Release her!" he growled as the static charge of powerful magic crackled between his outstretched fingers.
Bonnie screamed again. How was this nightmare ongoing? Her mind could hardly comprehend what the hell was going on.

The books and the show came before the fics and this is the order I read Kennett fics in, obviously I love and have read more Kennett than this, but after I read the eighth one, I was like let me try this!
I'm gonna say my other fic Savage Heart would be Twelve but I didn't include that one just because some aspects of the storyline are way too similar, with them meeting at the ball, & Bonnie eventually becoming vampire. Four & Five were the ones I've made subtle references to, if you remember what's happened in those ones! I loved those stories so much, they made me fall in love, SO hard with the idea of Kennett ️ ️ ️
It was an ambitious and fun idea, but the BTS aspects were unable to come to full vision but that's okay, we're still doing this, my second part of this almost ready to be published too!
Thank you literary-spirit and fireismyelement sooo much for letting me reference your stories, you guys inspire me so much and make my heart sing when it comes to your portrayal of Bonnie and Kol
So now Kol's back with HIS Bonnie from his home world, and of course I have to complicate things to keep them on their toes. Kai's switched their bodies, the faeries are saying witch problems need to be resolved on their own and trying to pull Toni from her new acquaintances, and Kol is obviously going to have some conflicting emotions about the things he saw. That pinche Davina Claire, AND the faeries are saying Bonnie belongs to someone else. More to come on that! 😉
Did we miss Kai's annoying ass?
As always I'd love to know what y'all think about this Kennett saga and everything they're going through to reach their soulmatey bliss.
Any errors in grammar or continuity I will cringe and correct as I read this baby back.
