This is Part II of the Memorial Day Special. Last time, we got everybody else's reactions to the first time all six factions met, mostly reactions to the Republic. But after that, I think it's time we change perspective. What exactly do I mean? Read on to discover...
(Our scene opens up not with the factions of the Injustice Wars, but with the children of the Element Guard. Of course Goldix is there, but there's also a aqua blue dragon with almost fish like features, a dark red dragoness with serpentine blue eyes, an anaconda looking dragon with red eyes, a crimson dragoness with bone white patches, and a snow white dragon with gray patches. But two are notably absent)
Goldix: Okay, the mystery here is all well and good, but does anybody know where Dracia and Sulfur are?
(Suddenly the fish looking dragon speaks up.)
Raygarro: They know our policy on sudden gatherings.
(As Raygarro says his line, the dark red dragon hits him on the shoulder)
Frellyni: Calm yourself, Raygarro. I'm sure there's a reason.
(And just as the two make their discussion known, Dracia and Sulfur enter the scene)
Raygarro: There you two are!
Goldix: Any particular reason you've been keeping us waiting?
Dracia: Sorry we're late, got a bit lost in mom's old journal.
Goldix: Did Metropolis just almost get collected?
Dracia: Only to be stopped when Belial arrived? Yep.
Goldix: Trust me, things are about to get more interesting from there. Just wait until...
Dracia: Hey! No spoilers, bro!
Goldix: Just trust me. You've only hit Year One's ending. The rest of the story only gets crazier from here.
Dracia: I'll have to see later. Right now, Sulfur and I have an announcement to make.
Frellyni: Oh, do tell?
Sulfur: Well, after years of friendship, Dracia and I have... Ancestors, I never thought I'd say this...
Dracia: Should I?
Sulfur: (Sweating bullets) Please, I think I'm about to pass out
Goldix: Well split it out! What is this announcement?
Dracia: After many years of friendship, Sulfur and I have decided to become mates.
(At this point, just about everyone is surprised, but soon, the snowy dragon starts applauding)
Boreal: Congratulations you two! I always knew you were right for each other!
(As Boreal continues his applause, Raygarro, Frellyni and Goldix start applauding as well, followed by the anaconda dragon and the crimson and white dragoness, though they are notably hesitant.)
Goldix: So, how're you two going to make this work? If Dracia's off in the multiverse in five days, and Sulfur's running things here...
Sulfur: We're more than willing to do long distance for as long as we must.
Boreal: (With a grin) Any thoughts about kids?
Dracia: We did just get together recently. So we haven't even thought about that yet. But I presume we'd try at some point.
Raygarro: (Sarcastically) So when's the wedding?
Sulfur: Funny you should mention. We're actually planning an impromptu ceremony in a few days, because getting a bigger one with our upcoming promotions would be difficult.
(Hearing this, the anaconda dragon speaks up)
Boa: Are you two sure about this? You seem kind of young to be married.
Dracia: Boa, you know as well as I do how many suitors were trying to get me to marry them since I turned 15. Marrying at 21 isn't that weird, I'd say.
Goldix: Well then, congratulations to the happy couple. Wait, have you told Mom and Dad yet?
(But before Dracia can respond, the door opens, and Dragnarok and Blaze enter.)
Dragnarok: Don't worry son, we know.
Blaze: (Drying tears from her eyes) And we couldn't be happier.
Dragnarok: I could think of no better dragon for Dracia to spend the rest of her life with.
Sulfur: (Now really nervous because Dragnarok is talking to him) I take that as a high honor, sir.
Dragnarok: Please, just call me dad.
Goldix: Now then, with all of us knowing, I'd say it's time for the rest of the world to know. So these suitors get off Dracia's back.
(With that, everyone except for Dragnarok, Blaze, Boa, and the crimson and white dragoness leave. As they do, Blaze breaks back into tears, as Dragnarok throws his wing over her, escorting her out)
Blaze: (Amidst tears) She's growing up so fast.
(As the parents of the future bride leave, the only two dragons left are Boa and the dragoness)
Boa: I can't believe this is happening...
(At this point the dragoness speaks up)
Chrys: It's happening, Boa.
Boa: I mean... did she ever know how I felt?
Chrys: Probably not. You're just a friend to her. (Aside) Just like me...
Boa: What?
Chrys: (Realizing he heard her) Nothing! (Redirecting) But, either way, I'm happy for them.
Boa: (Sighs) Yeah, so am I. Since you'll probably be invited to the bachelorette party, give her my well wishes.
Chrys: Gladly, Boa.
(And as the two leave, our scene ends for today)
This concludes Part II of the Memorial Day Special. For Part III, head on over to Matters of the Heart. This actually marks the first appearance of many of the Element Guard's kids, so I really didn't have a lot of info to work with as to their appearances. So I hope these designs I vaguely described work Yami! And yes, I do realize Dracia and Sulfur are moving kind of quick, but there's a reason. One of the points of this story is that Dracia's about to start exploring the Multiverse. So Sulfur might not get the chance to marry her after she leaves, so that explains the quick moving. But it looks like Boa and Chrys might have other thoughts about this. What do they have to say? We'll get to that another time. Next time, we resume with the Legion. So be sure to tune in for that! Same time... same channel!
