Welcome back to The Injustice Wars! Last time we took a view of the present day, where Dracia and Sulfur announced their impending wedding, leaving some conflicted but everybody happy for the two of them. But now, we've got a war to get back to. So what's next up? Read on to discover...
(Our story resumes in Legion HQ, where Blaze, Supergirl, and Flash are scanning frequencies, trying to figure out how to follow Belial Aether's advice and contact the Republic.)
Blaze: You'd think if the Republic wants us to contact them if needed that they'd give us a way to contact them.
Flash: We never could crack Vandal Savage's communication network. He kept changing it when we got close.
Blaze: Really?
Flash: But, tapping into the Batcomputer from here should give us something.
Supergirl: Are you sure Bruce will be okay with this?
Blaze: No offense Kara, but I really don't give a damn what Bruce thinks. We need to track them down.
Flash: Alright, patching in to the Batcomputer. Let's get in and out quickly.
(And just like that, Flash patches the Legion's computer into the Batcomputer, and in seconds has a frequency locked on)
Flash: This might be it.
Blaze: Alright, patch us in.
(And just like that, Flash patches in to the frequency. And their suspicion was right, this is Vandal Savage's current communication frequency, as Vandal Savage and Belial Aether appear on screen, catching both off guard)
Belial Aether: V, I think we've got company.
Vandal Savage: (Seeing the Legion members on screen) It seems we have.
Blaze: Gentlemen, I've come to negotiate with you.
Vandal Savage: Speak your terms.
Blaze: We'd like to get to know you a little better. As such, we've got three Legionnaires who'd like to act as liaisons between our groups.
Belial Aether: Really?
Vandal Savage: There must be a catch.
Blaze: Our three members will be reporting to us, for a time anyways.
Vandal Savage: Hmm... give us a moment to consider.
Belial Aether: I've considered. Let's set a meeting time by day's end if possible.
Vandal Savage: Are you sure about this?
Belial Aether: You saw how they fought back in Metropolis. I'd say they're worth trusting.
Vandal Savage: (Sighs) Very well. But I will be keeping close tabs on each one of them.
(As Vandal Savage makes his condition known, we transition to the Republic's base of operations)
Blaze: I think we can deal with that.
Belial Aether: Awesome. How does Noon tomorrow sound?
Blaze: Works for me.
Belial Aether: Excellent. We'll see you then.
(And with that, the transmission cuts out)
Vandal Savage: I must ask again. Are you sure this is a wise decision?
Belial Aether: To be honest, not really. But we're going to need all the help we can get if we're going to take down the enemies we've encountered to date.
Vandal Savage: (Sighs) Very well then. I will go through with it. But if this goes even remotely sideways, I will not hesitate to strike.
Belial Aether: Don't worry, V. Things won't go pear shaped. I'm 90% confident in that.
Vandal Savage: I was 90% confident in trusting Cleopatra.
(At the mere mention of that name, Belial Aether nearly recoils)
Belial Aether: Please don't bring her up. I've got bad history with the last queen of Egypt.
Vandal Savage: We both do. She was just using me for power and influence in Rome.
Belial Aether: Who were you? Caesar?
Vandal Savage: Yes, yes I was.
Belial Aether: I thought you seemed familiar.
Vandal Savage: You knew your world's Julius Caesar?
Belial Aether: I owed him a favor, so we were both in Egypt when she showed up wrapped up in sheets. After Julius was killed, I comforted her, helped raised their son Caesarean, and started to fall for her.
Vandal Savage: Didn't end well, I take it?
Belial Aether: It's a long story. But let's just say I've tried to distance myself from that. Let's just say, I haven't really loved since her.
Vandal Savage: (Putting it together) You're Marc Antony in your world?
Belial Aether: I didn't use the name initially. Shakespeare kind of cemented it. But, yes. And before you ask, Caesarean was a little brat most of the time I knew him.
Vandal Savage: Yeah, that fits here too. Sleeping with Cleopatra was not my best move.
Belial Aether. That makes two of us.
(But just as these two reminisce about their mutual romantic mistake, we transition to outer space, where a familiar purple clad figure with flaming orange hair arrives on scene)
Starfire: It's been years since I have been back to Earth. And I couldn't have come back at a better time. (Summoning green energy bolts around her hands) Defeating Brainiac will require a Tamaranian's temper.
(Amd with that, Starfire flies back into Earth's atmosphere, prepared to take on Brainiac and whatever is left, as our scene ends for today)
And that looks like a good place to end for today. So, it looks like Starfire is about to make an entrance. And knowing how things end for her thanks to Age of Miracles, things are going to get interesting. And as for the whole Brlial is Marc Antony thing, Yami came up with the idea that Belial and Cleopatra had a relationship, then I added Belial making up Marc Antony to dustance himself. The Shakespeare thing was off the cuff as I wrote that. Hope that works, Yami! Also, Starfire was not the original choice for tge ending cameo. I couldn't figure out how to make the original idea work, at this moment. So, what's going to happen now that the Last of the Titans is back? Tune in next time to find out! Same time... same channel!
