'ITALICS'- THOUGHTS

'BOLD'- POWERFUL BEING/JUTSU/TECHNIQUE

Review, please.

I read the wikis, and I couldn't find Rei's maiden name, as well as Toya's age. Creative liberty, then. Some ages might be different, but not by a lot.

First crossover with this pairing, I think.

EDIT FOR NEXT CHAPTER-

So I uploaded chapter 2, but it's not uploading, reviews are failing and the preview looks like weird lines of code.

The chapter should be text, not code. I didn't even get an update mail. What is wrong with this site?

EDIT 2- Site seems to work, will re-upload in a few minutes.

Prologue

Enji Todoroki was generally not a happy man. Anyone who saw him would describe him as cold, callous and angry. A far cry from his younger years, but they didn't understand. No one did. No matter what Endeavor did, no matter how much he tried, he could not achieve his greatest dream; To surpass All Might.

Enji had already become the No.2 Pro Hero some years ago, but that was it. Number two. Second. Always second best. It mattered not that he trained himself to the bone every day, nor did it matter how many cases he resolved.

Even though he had the most solved cases and successful missions in his early twenties, he was no closer to his goal. Regardless of all the good he did(intentions be damned), and the lives he saved, he would still be in the shadow of All Might.

People mocked him, made fun of his dream. Not to his face, of course- they were much too scared. But the hushed whispers reached his ears all the same; How he stood no chance at overcoming the Symbol of Peace, how he would always fall to the Might.

Both of All Might, as well as that man. But mainly All Might. That man wasn't No.1, after all.

Those people were idiots. Society had relied on All Might too much, and they had grown complacent. They placed all their hopes and dreams, all their expectations on one single man. These people had idolized him so much that he became just that; an idol. Not real, not human. A Symbol.

When he fell, so too would the peace he so dearly symbolized.

It was this mentality that led to his current dilemma. Everyone believed in All Might so much that they refused to try and surpass him. They gave up, thinking it to be impossible. And when Enji still persisted, they mocked him. To him, All Might was an insurmountable peak; one everyone else had given up on scaling. He would laugh in their faces when he succeeded. The fools! He would show them, he would show them all.

But today, Enji was in a good mood. The reason for this rare occurrence was simple- He had a solution. Enji had realized one thing over the years; The only thing holding him back from his dream now was his Quirk. Hellflame was powerful, exceptionally so. But it had a fatal flaw; Temperature. His Quirk's extended use would cause his body to overheat, which would impair his faculties and movements. Such a thing was unacceptable in a fight, hence needed to be fixed.

And he had found the fix. Enji had recently gotten word of a family of Ice Quirk users. The Yuki family, they were called. Ironic. Each member had a different variation of it, but the essence was the same. They controlled ice, and the Quirk was hereditary. That's all Enji needed to know. The Yuki were a middle-class family and lived in one of the relatively more well-off areas of Musutafu.

An Ice Quirk to cool his Fire, and his Fire to melt the Ice. Perfect.

The most important thing about this was their child; A daughter, just a few years younger than Enji himself. She had inherited the Ice Quirk as well, which was what Enji wanted. He desired that Quirk, and he would have it. For the fulfilment of his goal, it was a necessity.

The girl was named Mei or Rei or something, but it was of no matter. All that mattered was her Quirk. He would use her to create a child, the perfect spawn. A synthesis of Ice and Fire, one with double the strength of its parents but none of the weaknesses. A child who would balance the drawbacks of its power and come out victorious. And this child would be a tool to surpass All Might, to achieve Enji's dream in his name.

The girl was of marriageable age, and single to his knowledge. An easy task. He was on the way to that very family, to arrange a Quirk Marriage between himself and the girl. If they agreed, then it would be best. But if they refused, he would need to use… other methods.

Enji had already called them up and announced that the No.2 Hero would be coming by the next day at noon. Whatever response they attempted to give was ignored, and a meeting was set up.

Stopping his introspection, Enji looked at the house of his future in-laws. It was a modest two-story home, complete with a front yard and gate. Nothing compared to his own lavish residence, really. Preparing to enter, Enji rang the doorbell. Dressed in a formal Two-piece black suit, he looked like a man on a mission. Which he was.

"Hai Hai…" A muffled voice came from inside- Female, from the sound of it. The door opened to reveal a middle-aged woman, smiling serenely. She still looked relatively young, with dense white hair tied in a bun, with two bangs on either side of her head. She was of a slim build and wore a blue haori on top of a yukata. She had grey eyes, with which she was scanning Enji's face.

"Ara… Todoroki-san is here?" Her smile became slightly strained at seeing him. She was most probably not looking forward to this meeting. "I'm Shizuku Yuki, pleased to meet you."

"Yes, I'm here. Let me in so we can begin the negotiations." Enji tersely said. He didn't have the patience for this woman.

Her eyes grew slightly colder at this, but Enji couldn't be sure. She beckoned him inside and told him to take a seat in the common area. It was just as traditional and plain as the house, with some family portraits on the wall. It was Shizuku, with whom Enji assumed was her husband and their daughter.

The door slid open, and Shizuku walked in along with the man from the picture. He was a bit taller than Shizuku, with short spiky white hair and black eyes. He was wearing the same outfit as his wife, albeit a male version. The man smiled tentatively at Enji, a gesture which was not returned.

"A pleasure to meet you Todoroki-san, My name is Fuyuhiro Yuki." The man introduced himself. "May we know the reason for this meeting?"

To say that Fuyuhiro was wary was an understatement. He had suddenly received a call from Endeavor, requesting to meet about some important matter today. He was going to politely refuse, but the man wouldn't take no for an answer. Thus he had agreed to a meeting, so as not to anger the No.2 Hero.

"Hmm. Likewise. I will wait for your daughter to arrive before explaining, this meeting concerns her after all." Enji stated, leaving no room for argument. His patience was already running thin.

The couple instantly went on high alert. Both parents were extremely protective of their daughter and wanted the best for her, like any loving guardian would. They had no idea what Endeavor wanted, and they didn't want to find out. Keeping her serene smile, Shizuku spoke. "Todoroki-san, our daughter is upstairs. Let me fetch her for you."

Shizuku went out of the room and practically dragged Fuyuhiro with her. When the door closed and they were out of earshot, her apprehension finally showed on her face.

"Fuyu-kun, what could that man want with Rei? I don't like this."

Her husband placed a hand on her shoulder to comfort her, "Neither do I, dear, but let's face it. Enji-san has a lot of influence in the world, he could make things very difficult for us if we anger him." He finished, but quickly continued on seeing her frantic face.

"But that won't matter too much. You fetch Rei-chan, I'll call him up and tell him it's an emergency. He'll be here in a flash, as he likes to say." He finished with a chuckle.

At the mention of 'him', all the fear bled out of Shizuku's face, replaced by a happy smile. "I can't believe I forgot about him in the heat of the moment!" She exclaimed, "We have nothing to worry about, he is even more protective of Rei than we are." She giggled softly.

Their pieces said, the two went about their respective tasks.

Enji was getting tired of waiting. He had training to do, and these people were wasting his time. This woman had better be worth the trouble he was taking to acquire her. Who was he kidding, it would be worth it. The outcome looked very promising, and Enji was willing to pay any price for it.

The door opened yet again, and the couple entered. But this time, the two were not alone. After them entered a young woman who looked to be in her early twenties. If Enji were being honest with himself, she was gorgeous. A slim and lean build, with a reasonable height. White, waist-length straight hair was tied in a single ponytail, making her look even more alluring.

Sharp grey eyes scanned him, looking him over and analyzing every detail. Unlike her parents, Rei was wearing simply a white T-shirt and blue jeans. If Enji cared about things like appearance, he would have blushed.

The woman looked him over as if judging him. If she was impressed by what she saw, she said nothing of the sort.

"Hello, Todoroki-san, I'm Rei. You wanted to see me?" She said with a soft tone, not a hint of emotion on her face.

"Enji Todoroki. Please have a seat so we can begin."

When they did so, Enji wasted no time in getting straight to the point.

"I want your daughter as my wife, in a Quirk Marriage." He grunted out and observed the reactions of the family.

He had expected many reactions. From total elation that the 'No.2 Hero wanted their daughter', to utter shock at Enji's audacity. He expected to see their shoulders tense up; to gain shocked eyes as they hastily tried to come up with an appropriate response. He did not expect a calm, blatant refusal.

"I'm afraid I'll have to decline, Todoroki-san," Rei spoke stiffly, eager to end the conversation. "I have no reason for-"

She tried to speak, but Enji would have none of it. "Be silent, woman. Let the men talk."

Enji then looked at Fuyuhiro, who was sporting a stern expression on his face. His black eyes had narrowed, and his smile was gone.

"Todoroki, watch yourself. You would do well to respect my daughter." He said coldly, omitting any sense of respect for the Hero. "If she doesn't want to marry you, she won't have to."

Enji was taken aback by the curt reply, but only slightly. This man would let his daughter decide such an important matter? Intriguing, but he had a mission to accomplish. He needed this woman's Quirk, and this man was in the way. It was amusing to think that this man stood a chance against Enji. Enji would speak whatever he wanted, and no weak person could order him around.

But for the sake of the grand plan, Endeavor swallowed the angry retort on his lips and proceeded onward.

"What do I have to do to convince you then?" Enji asked, "Name your price."

Before Fuyuhiro could rebuff the man again, Shizuku cut in. She looked at her husband and placed a hand on his shoulder as if having a silent conversation. She could not afford to create a scene until 'he' got here.

"But why do you want to marry our daughter, Todoroki-san?" She asked, trying to mediate the situation.

"Don't make me repeat myself, woman. I need her Quirk, nothing more, nothing less." Enji replied, "It will serve me well in the future." What was so hard for these people to understand? It wasn't like Enji was making some absurd demand. In his mind, it was a perfectly reasonable request.

"For what… future, exactly?"

"Our child will be the one to surpass All Might, and her Quirk is key in achieving that goal." Usually, Enji wouldn't be as forthcoming about his reasons, but these people were giving up their daughter to him. They would just nag him in the future unless and until he came clean, which he did.

"I see." She said, "But I'm afraid-"

Enji glared at her and cut her off. This further served to irritate Fuyuhiro, who was getting fed up with the Hero's chauvinism. Before he could defend his wife, however, Rei did it for him.

Throughout Enji's tirade, Rei was growing progressively more enraged. This man was so infuriating! He had the gall to practically barge into her house and ask for her hand in marriage? Even that would have been acceptable, as she would have cordially refused him. She was no stranger to marriage offers, after all. But there were several things wrong with the current situation.

Firstly, the man's reasons for wanting to marry her were simply despicable. He needed her for her Quirk? Did he even care about her, about who she was? Her likes, dislikes, dreams? It didn't seem so. Did he think her to be some kind of broodmare who would pump out as many kids as he wanted to 'surpass All Might'?

Then, Endeavor had the nerve to actually offer to pay for her? What era had this man grown up in? Not to mention she was already engaged, so this whole discussion was a moot point anyway. Both Rei and her mother had tried to inform him of this fact several times already, but the brute just wouldn't listen!

Rei was generally a happy, kind and friendly girl, but she could be as cold as ice if the situation demanded it. This was one such situation. So, in the curtest and formal tone she could muster, Rei spoke again.

"Todoroki, I find your reasons for wanting to marry me, despicable." she ignored his angry glare, "You come in here, offer to pay for me, and then have the audacity to disrespect my parents in front of me?"

She narrowed her eyes at him, and hissed out of the words, "No price on Earth could possibly make me agree to this. You are a misogynistic and rude individual-" She cut off his interruption by raising her hand, "And the fact is that I am already engaged."

Enji wasn't expecting this. His sources stated that the girl was single, but she clearly was not. Her other reasons didn't hold much significance to the Hero -nothing he hadn't heard before- but the last one did. He would need to tread lightly if he was to obtain her as his wife.

He couldn't lose his cool and let out his Quirk in his anger. Contrary to what people thought of him, Enji wasn't some thug. He was a Hero, after all. He lived a life according to the law and was a model citizen. He saved lives daily; he hadn't, and would never, commit a crime. It would be a blot on his image, on his perfect record.

He wasn't going to beat up the family for their insults or burn down their house or the like. But Enji's goal was more important. He wasn't averse to using a little intimidation.

Taking a moment to collect himself, Enji tried his backup approach. "Your reasons don't matter to me, woman. I want that Quirk, and I shall have it." He said, with an insane gleam in his eyes. "Or are you going to refuse the No.2 Pro Hero?" he asked while flaring his fire a bit, "I can make life very difficult for you, you know?" Enji growled.

Seeing the apprehensive looks on the family's faces, Enji was proud of his efforts. Any moment now, they would cave to the pressure and agree. He would get the Ice Woman, and the family would get their money. It was all a matter of time.

"Hoh?"

At the sound of the new voice, the occupants of the room had various reactions. Since Enji was facing away from the door, he couldn't see the new entrant, but the voice sounded familiar. Rei's parents had both visibly relaxed as if he hadn't just intimidated them into giving up their daughter.

Rei herself had the most expressive reaction; her cold visage from earlier was replaced by a happy smile and twinkling eyes.

Eager to see who had intruded in their private meeting, Enji turned around. He immediately wished he hadn't.

Staring back at Endeavor was a tall man, almost six feet in height. He had spiky golden-blonde hair, and sparkling azure eyes, which were narrowed in his direction. The man was wearing an orange-black T-shirt, with blue trousers.

The reason Enji was so wary of the man was simple. The blonde man in front of him was the only man who was stronger than Enji himself, bar All Might. The No.3 Pro Hero, Maelstrom. Naruto Uzumaki.

Some might ask, why was Enji wary of the No.3 Hero if Endeavor was higher ranked? Well, rank did not necessarily signify strength. And Enji knew it all too well.

When Naruto had swiftly risen up to the No.3 spot, Enji had gotten insecure. Though Enji's goal was All Might, he feared that this newcomer would take the No.2 spot from him as well. So, in a lapse of judgement, Enji had challenged him to a spar.

Since they couldn't use Quirks for personal reasons, the spar was purely a test of physical skill. Enji had thought the blonde weak; Naruto was much leaner than him, after all. He had thus taunted him, trying to goad him into a fight. Then Enji had gone on and spoken some choice words about Naruto's family and upbringing.

Suffice to say, Enji was merely glad that there were no spectators present to witness his humiliation. Enji shuddered at the memory- actually shuddered. That fight was not something he was keen on remembering. Especially that finishing move…

"So, Flint-kun, did you just say what I thought you said?"

Addressing Rei's giggle at the nickname with a grin, Naruto pressed on. After learning about the situation, he was not amused in the slightest. He had rushed over to Rei's house as fast as he could, after completing a case. And when he arrived, he heard Endeavor's ridiculous demands. Naruto knew that Rei could handle herself, but he was Naruto Uzumaki, after all.

No one threatened his precious people.

"Brat, just kick this guy's ass already, we haven't had a good fight in years." Kurama muttered in his mind. The fox was getting antsy from all the testosterone and negative emotions in the room. Ignoring Kurama, Naruto addressed their 'esteemed' guest.

"I got a call from the Old man saying that it was an emergency." Naruto said, coming inside and sitting next to Rei, "And what an emergency indeed. So tell me flint-kun, did you just threaten my fiancé's family into selling her to you?" The ice in Naruto's voice made Enji flinch, which was good.

Naruto knew that he was stronger than Enji, and so did Enji. The only reason that Enji wasn't equally obsessed with Naruto was simple; his mind was utterly dominated by All Might. Enji's obsession wasn't so much with Toshinori as a person, it was with the Ideal of All Might. The Symbol of Peace, the No.1 hero. That concept was what Enji wanted, to be the No.1 strongest pro Hero. So Naruto was spared from the man's sights.

"Ano… Naruto, why do you call him Flint-kun?" Rei's mother asked, amused at this interaction.

"Well, Flint-kun is short for Flintstone, and there are a few reasons for it," Naruto said, much too happy to explain. "It's because he starts fires, and he is completely unnecessary in today's time." He stated with a serious face.

If Enji was angry at the nickname, he grew even more furious at the laughter it brought. Now that No.3 was here, the family had gotten confident. Enji had a very little chance of getting the Quirk as it was, practically none since Naruto was clearly Rei's fiancé. Out of childish pettiness, he still tried.

"Uzumaki, this doesn't concern you. Leave." Enji said with mock bravado, but he paled when he saw what Naruto was doing. He had one arm wrapped around Rei's waist, and the other arm was in a specific position. To anyone else, this gesture might hold no meaning. But Naruto's whisper made Enji confirm his fears. A move that traumatized him to this day.

"A thousand years of death~."

"Uhm! Well," Enji coughed, trying to regain control, "I suppose there's nothing that can be done. I only hope you can reconsider, Yuki-san." Enji said, once again disregarding the women and Naruto. "I am clearly a much better choice than this fool."

"Hmm, is that so?" Naruto teased, looking positively vulpine, "I was honestly surprised that you came to my fiancé's house, Flint-kun."

It was such blatant bait, but Enji couldn't resist.

"Oh, and why is that?"

"Well, I was shocked that you came to arrange a marriage, when you're clearly in love with All Might, ya know?"

Silence.

The heavy tension was broken by Rei's gigging, which turned into full-blown laughter. Her family and Naruto shortly joined in. All the while, Enji was this close to spontaneous combustion.

Endeavor gritted his teeth but held his fists, knowing that he was outclassed. "How in the world did you arrive at that conclusion, loser?"

'Hook, line and sinker!' Naruto thought, inwardly cackling. The prank had officially taken root, and it would be marvellous.

"Well, what is your motivation to succeed?"

"All Might." Enji answered instantly, without hesitation.

"Whom do you think about, first thing in the morning?"

"All Might."

"What is your entire life's work based on?" Naruto asked, smiling mischievously.

"All Might." Enji was unaware of the hole he was digging himself into, but the others weren't, judging from their reactions.

"Whom do you love?"

"All Mig- WAIT!" Enji shouted, but it was too late.

"Bwahahaha!" Naruto guffawed, using Rei as support to keep himself from falling. Rei herself was giggling uncontrollably, with her parents following suit.

"Heh." Even Kurama chuckled a bit at the exchange. His host could be funny, sometimes.

This bastard always managed to grate on his nerves, but today was the last straw. Trying to buy Rei and intimidate her family? For some kind of genetic marriage, at that? If this were his old world, Naruto would already be feeding Enji a steaming hot Rasengan.

"Listen here, dude." Naruto sighed tiredly. "You came to try for marriage and failed. Rei doesn't want to marry you, so that's that." He glared at Enji who was about to interrupt, "And no, don't spout some bullshit like 'Let's fight for her' or something. She's not some prize to be won, ya know?" He hugged Rei closer, making her smile and blush slightly at the gesture.

"Now that the matter is over, be a sport and accept defeat. I know that you can think rationally, so do it and find some other way to achieve your dream."

Enji thought about these words. He had always been aware of his limits, never cocky or arrogant. Naruto was stronger than him, and Rei was already engaged. His obsession did not want him to let go so easily, but he thought rationally about the situation. His hands were tied, it was time to cut his losses and retreat.

Maybe he could go for some of the experimental treatments they had in I-Island?

Getting up without warning, Enji turned around. "Hn, Good Day." He said, not apologetic in the slightest. He had nothing to be sorry for, after all.

The family came to see Enji out, eager to see him leave. Just as he passed Naruto, Enji heard a faint whisper.

"If I ever see you around Rei-chan again, I will break every single bone in your body, only to heal you up and then break you again, over and over. Do not test me."

Enji turned back, but Naruto was not there. The blonde was lovingly embracing Rei, with his forehead on top of hers. The fact that Enji felt absolutely nothing at the sight gave him some reassurance.

"OH! And don't forget to confess to Toshinori! I believe in the power of love!" With that final taunt, Naruto slammed the front door in Enji's face, snickering madly.

"Whew! Glad that's done." Naruto turned around and was instantly embraced by Rei. His expression softened at the tenseness of her body. Rei was a strong woman, but such a situation could be stressful on the best of people. Her probably imagining a dark, helpless future with Enji didn't help matters in the slightest.

Looking to her parents, Naruto hoped to convey his message. Luckily they understood and left to give the couple some privacy. Naruto then turned to the shaking woman in his arms.

"Hey now, none of that." He said, kissing the top of her head, "You know I would never let that man touch you, don't you?" Naruto asked, looking lovingly at his fiancé.

Rei relaxed slightly in his embrace, and let out a shuddering breath. "I know, but I was so scared for a moment." She shivered, "His reasons for wanting me were so… so…" She couldn't bring herself to continue and crashed her head into his chest.

Naruto sighed sadly and settled for just comforting his partner, rubbing smooth circles on her back. He kept softly kissing her hair, whispering words of love into her ears.

"Well, he's gone now, and he won't ever come near you again." Naruto looked at her, "And even if he does, I will always remain by your side. That's a promise of a lifetime."

Rei clearly understood the power of his words, as her fears were assuaged, and soon replaced by a smirk. "Oh, is that so?" She asked, leaning closer to him, "I'll be sure to hold you to that, Good sir." She said with mock arrogance.

"It would be my pleasure, my cute Snow Angel."

Rei blushed at the nickname. It was his personal name for her, something which only he could call her by. She had almost flash frozen the last guy who tried. Naruto had nicknamed her the very first day he met her in their class at UA. She was initially very irritated at this usage but came to love it, like she did him.

She was an Ice Queen to many, but to Naruto, she was his Snow Angel.

"Man! I hope Mom has made some ramen. All this threatening has made me hungry~."

Yes, she still loved him, despite all his quirks. If anything, she found them endearing.

And Rei could not wait to spend the rest of her life with him.

Review pls-

Check out my other stories as well!

1. Naruto is not the No. 2 or No. 1 hero for several reasons. He is stronger than All Might (However strong or fast All Might may be, I doubt he can beat Naruto's top speed in the war, or recover from a Truth-seeking Orb, Tailed Beast Bomb.)

I'll leave you to guess why Naruto isn't at the top rank, I will address it in future chapters.

2. Naruto is No.3, everyone moves accordingly on the board.

EDIT FOR NEXT CHAPTER-

So I uploaded chapter 2, but it's not uploading, reviews are failing and the preview looks like weird lines of code.

ALSO- 'Sadists, Ramen chefs and Others' had been updated a week ago, as chapter 3. No CH4 has been added, but CH3 has been replaced. In case anyone missed it, the details are in CH1 of that story.
