Hello, and thank you for taking the time to read this small preview and note from me.
I am RomanceAddict2001, or RA2001 for short.
I am a natural born English speaker, and have been writing my own stories for myself for some time now. However, after watching The Owl House and getting unhealthily addicted to the story, characters, and potential, I finally caught the bug and felt compelled to write and share my own version of the story.
This story takes place after the events of King's Tide (Season 2 Episode 21) and during the Season 3 Hiatus. When season 3 comes out, I will not be changing anything in this story to match it for a few reasons. One, I want my story to be separate from the main show and it's story. Kind of like a "What If" story. Secondly, I am writing out a main villain, The Collector.
I feel that The Collector didn't really get a chance to by properly built up as a villain, and as a result, I don't like them as a character. I feel that the show would have been better off going a different route. That's not to say that I dislike the show. I love it. And am excited to see where it will go. But I feel that other pathways for the story might have felt better. So, this story will be one of those "What If" pathways.
I don't want to spoil the plot, so I will let you see where it goes on your own. However, I did want to give a heads up and warning to you all first. I took this story in a much darker, grim, and serious direction near the beginning. There are scenes of detailed physical torture and abuse, inflicting both physical and psychological pain on one or more of the characters. The torture could be considered quite extreme, and is not for the feint of heart. This is not a sexual abuse, mind you. I will never write something along those lines, as I hate the images that appear in my head when making up a scene for sexual abuse. So, you will not need to worry about any of that in my story.
However the torture scenes, when I focus on them, are very detailed, very cruel, and can be triggering. I just want people to know ahead of time what they may encounter. It is not the full focus of the story, and only occurs for 3 chapters, though dealing with the after effects, the wounds left behind, is a major focus for part of the story. Skipping the torture scenes can lead to a lot of confusion later on.
To those of you that do read my story even after these warnings, I thank you. I put a lot of effort into this, and am very proud of both how quickly I wrote it, and how (in my personal opinion) well it turned out. It means a lot to me to have others read my story, and I hope you enjoy it. I am still writing it at the time of posting this first chapter (9/11/22) , and am already at 24 chapters. I do not know the total length yet, so stick around for the long haul. Each chapter averages between 2500 to 3000 words, so they aren't short, but aren't super long either.
I wrote the first 20 chapters in like 3 days, completely possessed and giving up sleep, work, and much more to get my thoughts onto paper. Don't worry, I read through them multiple times to make sure it all made sense in the end, and that things flowed better than in my first draft. I will still come back later on an update/edit things as needed. But the main story from chapters already posted will never change. Just small corrections.
Lastly, one more FYI. I am not a native Spanish speaker. I barely know the language, so for the times when Luz and Camila speak Spanish, I used google translate. I know its not perfect, but I didn't really have other options for when I first wrote this story. If anything I wrote is not correct, please feel free to let me know. And, if you are a native (or fluent) Spanish speaker and writer, please let me know what the proper way to say any phrases should be.
Now, without further ado, I present to you, Never Enough Time.
